841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sent Litecoin to Electrum...I think I lost it... on: May 30, 2018, 10:04:47 AM
Hello, I am a newbie to the crypto world, so please be gentle.

I set up the Electrum wallet because I heard good things about it. I was under the mistaken impression that I could hold litecoin in it. So I transferred some Litecoin from Coinbase to Electrum. When it didn't show up, I started poking around and I discovered that the Electrum wallet I have only holds Bitcoin. According to Coinbase, the transfer was repeatedly confirmed. So I have the address to which the Litecoin was sent...is there any way to retrieve it, or is it gone forever?

Thank you!

G
It has gone forever, litecoin is really different with electroneum. it has used the different algo and spesification of the blockchain. Your amount has gone forever and i'm sorry for your lost. i suggest you to forget it. Because you have sent it to another blockchain.
842  Economy / Economics / Re: A cryptocurrency with volatility can't be used as money on: May 16, 2018, 09:59:07 PM
Thinking about this, there's some cryptocurrency that is pegged to fiat or even precious minerals, pretty sure that this kind of cryptocurrency have significantly less volatility or almost zero since it will always follow the value of that local currency being pegged, we can use that if that's the case.

Can the less volatility in Ripple be a major reason why banks are adopting it against choosing the bitcoin or even litecoin?
It has nothing to do with Ripple being less volatile than other crypto currencies, because it simply isn't less volatile. Ripple is a centralized crypto currency that technically allows transactions to be reversed.

All aspects of Ripple make it an interesting option for banks and certain financial services, but it has no real use and utility with how governments will tie their own fiat currencies to a token running on their blockchain.

Ripple is nothing more than a get rich scheme with the insane premine that's being kept hidden from the public, but it doesn't really work in their favor. It's one of coins heavily being frowned upon by the crypto industry.
Agree with this, anyone who says ripple is less volatile or at least saying that it's a good cryptocurrency is getting blinded by the fact that it's pure stupid coin, it's not decentralised and stupidly can be reversed, what the point of using ripple when there's PayPal and other similar but with less volatility and more simplicity.
843  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin - Can it boost or break a countries economy? on: May 16, 2018, 09:53:09 PM
On the basis of Bitcoin has increased the economy of each country, every individual is domiciled in a country, if the individual uses Bitcoin then he will feel the influence of Bitcoin on the economic pinansial against him, can imagine if the majority of people use Bitcoin, that means the economy of a country will increase .
That's really unreasonably dumb statement you got there, how bitcoin even make people rich? bitcoin is so volatile that even if a government uses bitcoin it will face the risk of having loss by the volatility and it's really critical for country's economic to be stable.
Even I don't know how you really think bitcoin make everyone rich, that's just plain stupid I must say, bitcoin is just a currency or even many people consider commodity, not a magic that could turns people's wish become true.
844  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin volatility prevent adoption? on: April 30, 2018, 11:11:40 PM
Yes bitcoin's volatility prevents mass adoptions woldwide. Lets take this situation, a company X gives salary to the employees in bitcoin and suddenly the price of bitcoin increases and after few days it decreases again. It will be a huge loss for the company and what is the reason? Volatility.

In my opinion, bitcoin can be adopted but not a mass adoption because volatility is preventing it.

I think you have a point. It is so hard to all companies that they giving salary in bitcoin mode because it's absolutely btc has no stable value. However, in a long run, I think it is possible that the peoples salary still can be fiat currency therefore the company will do pay the exact value and payment to their employees. So it could be less hassle and less stress when it comes in payroll day. We can also do massive adoption except to payroll system.
having salary paid in bitcoin is only good for those who, well, wants to make additional money by risking it. the volatility bitcoin is indeed what holding the bitcoin adoption, just like when steam decide to delete bitcoin as one of their payment method after the volatility going crazy and the fee peaking.
However, people nowadays are fine with the volatility of bitcoin, they only consider bitcoin as a trading tool, not a currency, that's what make bitcoin will always stay volatile until people change their mind.
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin dominance is it the END ? on: April 30, 2018, 10:55:22 PM
It's just because of huge number of stupid altcoins under ethereum. In reality, Bitcoin dominance still standing.
Just be real, it's just more money coming to those ERC20 Token and many other alt coins, the bitcoin is currently stagnant at the same stage, even though the price of bitcoin heavily affect the whole cryptocurrency market, but the market capitalisation of the whole cryptocurrency market always increase and the majority of incoming money are going to those ERC20 token and other alt coins.
846  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine a cashless society on: April 24, 2018, 06:36:37 AM
Just by using your phone, you could purchase almost anything. No need to withdraw on an atm. No more heavy coins on your pocket. Paying bills, and purchasing tickets without standing on a line. Very convenient and less time consuming. I know we're already using credit cards right now, but using a single currency like bitcoin world wide could really help on transaction, having less error than the normal and faster transfer and of course the security. Do you guys think this could happen in the future of bitcoin?

Yes it is, and I ant imagine what the world will look like if the future will be digital, like transaction, connections, conversations this generation might forget the value of conversations, intimate interactions, and how do a human supposed to live. Imagine the less fortunate people that until now the momey that they are gathering is enough for the daily food, they cannot afford having gadgets and internet connection to be included to this forum, I hope this will not happened.
That's not gonna happen because in the future, tools for accessing internet such as gadgets or computer will be more viable I guess, maybe there's expensive ones but the flagship electronic stuff not the "cheap" one. Just like right now we're given the option to buy a "less" powerful gadget but in a cheap price and there also "more" powerful gadget with more expensive cost.
Just the only thing that I hope will happen in the future is that the internet connection will cover the entire planet and become free which likely can't happen unless we found a robust and effective way to replace those undersea fibre optic cable.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IS ETH GONNA REACH $200? on: April 23, 2018, 03:14:57 PM
it could be, but no one can predict.. but dont worry if it  happen, then it will be #BuyTIme and ETH pumped again..
No more speculation regarding the price of ether, All of that are bullshit as far as i know. it could be and in fact it's not happen. So many times ETH haters were created more and more this kind of thread to make eth holders panic and it's not working anymore. You just make another nonsense word about the prediction of ether.
848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SONM is the most undervalued coin of 2018, here's why on: April 23, 2018, 03:12:34 PM
I am also holder of sonm. I really like it as fresh new project in scenery. I was expecting even more when december 2017 bull market happened. My take on sonm: It will hit 10x from now on at later 2018. Its one of the most unique projects in the market.

so the price could be hit more than $1 in this year,, ?
and i think this could be happends because if i'm not wrong SONM is one form many succesfull project in 2017
SONM as I think is the ambiguous project. From one side it has strong team of professional. But from other side they made own product 1 year already. And where is result?
And no result at all. I still curious how the developer can distribute the dividend to the token holders and how it works, whitepaper says if that will be generating through sonm full product. But basically they are working on the area that will better to call that as passive product rather than active product.
849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your price prediction for Bitcoin in the next three month? on: April 23, 2018, 03:08:48 PM
Bitcoin in the last three month has experienced a lot of downtrend but looking at the past two week the price has began to gain it's upward trend moving  from $6600 to $8948 which mean it gain 131% increase in just two week, if this upward trend continues what is your price prediction for Bitcoin in the next three month from now???
It's and maybe you have done wrong result on your calculation. But it may better to use ATH as the best measurement to the price of bitcoin. I think for next three months and the price will keep going to the moon again just like people will be rushing to make bitcoin break old ATH.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What websites are you using for price analysis? on: April 23, 2018, 03:07:08 PM
For general market trend, I like trading View and I believe most people use this even professional traders, I use Coinmarketcap.com also, but the space is getting bigger and some new platforms are now popping up looking to share part of the market with these sites, like the two website you named above
Indeed tradingview offers a lot of tool at the same time user can try to use it to make TA analyzation to the price analysis.
Coingecko can become the best alternative for cmc, and remember there are some market data platform already introduced its product and you can try start to get more sensitive data to increase the accuracy of your prediction.
851  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe BTC is going to trend down to $5,000 whats your thoughts on: March 28, 2018, 04:01:39 AM
IMO BTC is going to continue to trend down and settle around a range of $4,500 to $5,500 at a new psych level. Reasons are slow adoption world wide from other countries than Japan and growing competition from alts.

If your reason for bitcoin price is because altcoins competition, why altcoins price falling too ?
it should be only bitcoin price that falling. but it is still possible to occur that bitcoin will go to price around $6k.
just like last february 2018.
Altcoins indirectly bond to btc mainly because the funding uses bitcoin and also Ethereum bond with bitcoin. There is no competition as the market cap for each coin always growing and not decreasing.
Actually speaking from my opinion, this bearish market will eventually ends, this bearish market seems huge becaue when we're on bullish market, the price increase so much that it's becoming too dangerous.
852  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin, how far it can go! on: March 28, 2018, 03:28:54 AM
bitcoin is one of the results of technological advances, I think bitcoin will continue to grow and get better. as long as the internet is also still there, maybe cryptocurrency will also continue to exist. about the price, bitcoin prices will get better. and perhaps the government will begin to control the price and development of its trade.
we can see G20 freeing the members for cryptocurrency regulation. in my country government will preach that regulation at june, if that happen, i think cryptocurrency future always growth
the G20 conference is not freeing cryptocurrency regulation but rather don't care because it's not yet imposing or not that disrupting the whole economy so giving regulation to it is basically wasting time instead,
they will discuss about more important financial sectors that could impose risk to global economy.
853  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price is so volatile right now! Why should I even hold? on: March 28, 2018, 01:05:35 AM
You are not a real bitcoiner or else you wouldnt have said these words as all the true btcsians are well aware of its volatility Smiley
The market value of bitcoin was very much volatile since the beginning and that it is not a new thing for the ones who are dealing in bitcoin and other crypto currencies since some good period. holding has nothing to do with the volatile nature of bitcoin and that you can still hold your coins at time when the market is falling but for that you really need to be patient.
It just seems that he doesn't know bitcoin since long time and hasn't taken a time for learning the price cycle of bitcoin yet as for now. Bitcoin has gained its popularity mainly because the price rally and people are still get panic by this "really usual" thing happens in cryptocurrency world.
I mean come on guys, we've through all these volatility since the beginning and why there's someone still wondering why the price is so volatile.
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: youtube and blogger have started blocking ICO ads on: March 28, 2018, 12:39:57 AM
Just let that sink, there's plenty of already funded ICO that trying to compete against google and it's such a good thing. I don't know why it seems that people are relying too much on Youtube and other google companies aswell but let me make it clear.
There's so many video sharing site, and also another advertising platform. We can just all those services that come from our comunity and everything will be fine. Also it seems that by the blocking which done by youtube, marketing promotion through this forum is the most effective way.
855  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital Money = Cashless Society on: March 27, 2018, 09:09:50 AM
Digital money is the base for the existence of cashless society, because for the growing population the traditional system it is impossible to fulfill the needs of the people. At this time we're not able to readily accept the change, over the years little by little things will change making everything digitized.
Slowly and gradually we are moving toward such society, although it will take a lot of time but we have to accept that fact, because even in current time people are not carrying money with them but using ebanking, i think that n future people will mostly start using bitcoin for buying and selling things they will never feel the need to use cash and carry it with them.
It seems that in the future we'll have various option for payment through digital currencies, whether every country make their own virtual currency or not, today we're already starting to digitalize everything, for example fintech that's universal is apple pay, and google pay.
It's also things that could drive us to cashless society for more efficiency, and the best thing is that it's eco friendly.
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It could take 2 years for the market to recover on: March 27, 2018, 09:00:23 AM
That's your hope, not us. We expect the market to recover soon and again rise again. I think everyone is bored with this situation, but this is our chance to buy coins as much as we can afford.

Yes, you are right
I think we can use momentum like this to buy a lot of crypto that we deserve to buy.
btw, for OP. I think the prediction is too early even no one can predict the future with certainty. there is a difference from what happened in the past few years. yes, as happens where bitcoin drops and rises in a short time in 2017. Today the bitcoin situation is more popular. so we can not refer to what happened a few years ago.
Well that's why it's called prediction, no certainty or facts that could drive an opinion into an obvious facts that will happen in the future, OP is not wrong either, he's just stating his prediction based on opinion even though it's not really believeable.
However, from my point view, the unpredictable price movement of the market making time pointless for predicting. It can go higher within few years ahead or months. Just need to wait.
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end of the ethereum coin? on: March 27, 2018, 07:34:23 AM
Price down about 50% and you think that Ethereum doomed, you need to see the initial journey of ETH before hitting $1000 ATH and you will realize that this kind of price drops is really a usual things in the market dude.
You just need to calm down and give the market a time to recover itself from the bearish market currently happen. however, if you are pretty curious about whether ethereum will have future or not, i recommend you to see the yearly cycle of ethereum price.
Just hoping that you might not be surprised of how much price rally we've through.
858  Economy / Speculation / Re: $50,000 Bitcoin In The Next Couple Of Months? on: March 27, 2018, 07:26:43 AM
Bitcoin will reach that price but not a couple of months maybe years. It's hard to predict when bitcoin will hit that price the important you can buy now in affordable price so when the bitcoin reach that price you will get big profit.
Well you're saying that it's hard to predict the price of bitcoin but you say that to reach that much of price it needs years, that's just contradictory. However if things goes smoothly $50K can be reached just within few months and no doubt about it.
Even though it have only a little chance to happen but there's still a chance. Also, the current bearish market will eventually ended whatsoever so it's just matter about the time.
859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: March 27, 2018, 04:39:15 AM
the situation is such that the advantages that bitcoin is famous for simply play not in its favor, but in the hands of scammers who, using the anonymity and unprovability of their crimes, steal the crypt from their accounts and purses
Anonymity and uprovability, well if that two things you mentioned is true, then FBI or any international organization that specialized in cybercrime can't reveal who's behind an address but hey they do. see silkroad, they got busted, same goes to many scammer.
Scammers who uses bitcoin to do cybercrime is definitely the stupid ones, their transaction will be saved forever in the blockchain, it's matter of time until they're revealed.
860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 88% of Japanese have heard of bitcoin -- how about your country? -- on: March 27, 2018, 04:27:43 AM
Japan has enough infrastructures that allows their citizens to use bitcoin. Since the war possibilites in north korea is growing then it seems that people in japan and south korea are preparing to safe their wealth. Implement bitcoin as medium of exchange is not as easy as we think, it's not only about wallet in our smartphone but also need other software that will manage the transactions an make sure that there is no fraudulent in every transactions.
Don't really think that all those japanese saving their wealth in form of bitcoin for the upcoming war possibilities, it's just their country that really welcome to a new advanced technology and specially in this case, an advanced financial technology.
Unlike 3rd world countries, 1st world country tends to advance their technology furthermore because it's the core of good civilization and japanese government or blockchain organization there always promoting bitcoin and othercoin through various advertising method so not surprised.
