Tip #7 - EXP expanse (cryptsy/bittrex/poloniex) is in downtrend, most groups are out - devs have alot of EXP but not alot of BTC to pump it Wink

845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 5xxx card rigs...any value left in them? on: September 07, 2015, 11:11:13 PM
I currently have a decent amount of qubit hash with them (13mhash)...Is the any algorithm where you can get a bit more profit? qubit seems close to death at this point and with my free electricity I would like to try something potentially better (most of the newer algos cause these older cards to crash :/ )

Thanks!

You can mine digibyte. (skein)

http://digibytewiki.com/index.php/Mining_hardware_comparison

the  HD 5970 is almost mining as good as a r9 290.

HD 5970   Skein   188 MH/s
R9 290   Skein   225 Mh/s

can you mine Ethereum with 5970?

OK, it's not a big issue, but I didn't set any password to my wallet, now it's locked, and I have no idea which password to enter.

The first time you opened the wallet it gave you a password and told you to write it down. If you didn't grab it then, the only way to get it back is to stop siad, delete the wallet.json file, then start again.

You're not the only person who didn't get the password on the first try, we'll have to change it so that you can keep asking for the password until the first time you unlock the wallet (which requires the password). That at least guarantees that users realized there was a password before closing the window.

Hmm maybe I missed that, but I didn't seen any password that wallet should gave me, there was just some disclaimer about passwords.
And now, I deleted json wallet, killed siad process manually and this is all what wallet is saying, no password at all.

Downloaded new GUI Wallet, it's looking fine, but in the about column I see: Sia UI version: 0.4.0, Sia version: 0.4.0

Yeah we forgot to bump the version numbers. We'll fix it tomorrow (we're taking it easy today - long week).

I wonder if there will be a 24 hour hold on funds like ETH did.

Not much buy support. Need some "NEWS" aka blog/magazine articles like ethereum with all the magazines they own.

New ANN soon, new logo, presentation of the team, new roadmap, new docs. Wish we could work faster though, time estimate.. tomorrow maybe. No rush by the way, we are here to stay.

No need to hurry, take your time.

Hello,
I'm trying to send some coins to another wallet, or to poloniex,
but it wont make any transaction. I'm trying to send it through GUI.
Lets say I send 1KS, my balance is lowered, but on the other side its not credited anywhere.
Also I've mined 4 blocks, but after 48hours i have only 285KS, so I'm not sure where is the rest.
Does anyone know what could be possibly wrong with my wallets, or what Am I doing wrong?
Thank you.

How to mine this coin step by step? I can't seem to fine exact instructions on how to....

1. Download latest wallet:
https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia-UI/releases/download/v0.3.3.3-beta/Sia-UI-v0.3.3.3-beta-win64.zip

2. Extract wallet

3. Run wallet

4. Download GPU miner and extract it:
https://github.com/droghio/Sia-GPU-Miner/releases/download/1.02j/sia-gpu-winx64-1.02l.zip

5. Run miner in commandline with parameters: -I 26 -d 0
-I adjusts intensity (lower intensity if your crashing or want to do other stuff on the PC while mining) -d is the GPU device you want to use (for multiple GPU's on same PC you have to run another instance with -d 1 and so on)

The wallet has to be running before you start the miner and then found block rewards automatically is received in your wallet after some time...

Thats pretty much it. As reference with the miner I have linked and with 290x card you should get a little over 1000+ MH/s per card when intensity @ 26.

Hello, I have few other question.
How many blocks (approx) you can find a day with 1000+ MH/s?
And how much is block reward?
Is there GPU miner for Nvidia?
cheers
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - New Update 0.6.43 - Please Update Your Nodes on: August 23, 2015, 11:54:18 PM
Hello,
I'm totally new to this NEM stuff.
I have few questions. I'm harvesting locally with 16000+ vested XEMs.
Did I get some reward for that harvesting?
or I need to set-up a full node with those 3000000 NEMs to get reward?
Is it necessary to open port 7890 on my node?
Thank you for any advice.

help...pool? thank

Ya...another pool would be great so more ppl can mine this coin.  Not really sure its worth it to solo mine with just one gtx 980...

Ethereum is NOT a coin.
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 10, 2015, 01:09:44 AM
mining this is really hardcore

yes it is, but you'll learn lot of new things,
and not just mining

Hello, does anybody know what does this mean?
Thank you.

> web3.fromWei(eth.getBalance(eth.coinbase), "ether")
'140'

That you have 140eth

Hm, but when I'm trying to enter my wallet address to https://etherchain.org it's saying: Error: Account not found!
Am I missing something?
