hey xmr peepz, been a while since i was around. saw a new update. i have all my xmr on a piece of paper, ie my old seed from the last version ago. is it safe to upgrade my existing install & can i still sweep my old xmr's on paper since the number of words has changed? (Meaning will --restore-deterministic-wallet still work with wallets created on the older version? Just can't afford to lose a lot of xmr/money ya know, i'm in long myself, so i don't care about todays' price to be honest)! Thanks, this is one of my fave threads, but it's so large i have to keep coming back and i can't keep up!  Here's what I would do, when you need to spend funds. 1. Restore your wallet from the mnemonic seed using the old version you already have installed. 2. Upgrade to most recent Monero version. 3. When you open your wallet for the first time, it will detect it is from an older format and will provide a NEW list of seed words for your wallet. thank you saddam. Lets look at the source code. No hybrid flex to be found, it's just another nasty peercoin fork with not notable changes whatsoever. Still even has little bits of PeerCoin hanging around. Unbelievably it's such an old fork of Bitcoin that it retains IRC support, except it will join the #bitcoin channels because their find and replace didn't quite get everything. The premine is all but predictable, the first block makes an insane number of coins for GAW. Interestingly if anybody wanted they could have forked the network right back from the genesis block and taken the 12M coins for themselves, the difficulty is a bit high to do that now though unless you have 1Ph/s in your pocket. I have a few S1s sitting here that have been off for the last two months. I turned em on, cuz if, and that's a big if, there's a $20 buywall, I'm dumping whatever I get right into it. Source code is available so techically the coin can be listed on any exchange that's willing to do that. I'm sure someone will do it and we'll see the real market value. You're right. But I think primes stay locked from selling up to the time wallet becomes available. I think at this point you'll be allowed to sell them. At least I hope so - I haven't sold all of my primes so I'm curious to see if there is going to be any opportunity to sell the remaining as wallets.
