8441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to easily buy and sell Bitcoin in Nigeria. on: June 28, 2020, 08:12:48 PM
The highest amount to deposit in Luno is N200,000.
The deposit limit depends on your verification. There are three verifications on Luno for deposit and withdrawal
For level 1: Phone verification: You can deposit/withdraw up to 200,000 naira
For level 2: ID verification: You can deposit/withdraw up to 500,000 naira monthly
For level 3: Proof of residence:  You can deposit/withdraw up to 10 million naira monthly

Luno charges N 150. For trading fee and N 200. For withdrawing directly to your bank account.
For makers, trading fee is free on Luno.

For privacy sake, I will prefer p2p exchanges like LocalBitcoins, Remitano or Paxful. It is also said above, cryptocurrencies  are legal in Nigeria, and you can purchase directly from exchanges that support credit cards like Binance.

P2P marketplace and Bitcon ATM is the best answers to buy and sell Bitcoin without submitting KYC
I do not know much about bitcoin marketcap in Nigeria but there are p2p exchnages like paxful, it is frequently used by Nigerians, but someone needs to be careful as some people use it for scam purpose, they must not release the bitcoin from escrow until they receive the money for bitcoin they are selling like you said above.

This may also interest you
Nigeria is among one of the countries that show huge growth interest in cryptocurrencies, according to coinmarketcap.

This forum is about cryptocurrencies, build your account here is better. This forum is where you can get access to true information rather than the channel you created.

Or, better still, establish your account to certain rank here before making such move.

People should also be careful of channels on telegram, scammers can be the brain behind it.
8443  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Authentication: Types, Risks/ Attacks, Advice on: June 27, 2020, 01:06:28 PM
It is true. I never ever use qr code when storing 2FA secret codes. I'd rather use the code itself and write on a paper for example or store it on a flash drives then you can keep it safe from leaking. It seems you are using google authenticator. Is it because where you can sync your account from the current device to other device which in my opinion is good but it also have disadvantage where the company that create that platform may have access to your credentials which is bad. I have been using google auth and Authy for 2 years.
You still do not give valid reason why QR code is not good for 2FA backup.

or store it on a flash drives then you can keep it safe from leaking
This method is not good enough, you can  write it down on a papar like you have ones said, you can laminate it for more safety.

When the map is broken, you have nothing to recover your 2FA but with secret key, if one of characters is blurred or broken, you still can guess it from the leftover of broken character.
When backing up QR code, the secret code is included.

Man Utd have only won the FA Cup once in the last 16 years - so it's about time they got it together.

I just had to check wiki on this because I was sure you were wrong here but no, you’re right. That’s crazy, I think because Ferguson won trophy after trophy after trophy I assumed they’d have won the FA Cup more frequently.

FA Cup
Winners (12): 1908–09, 1947–48, 1962–63, 1976–77, 1982–83, 1984–85, 1989–90, 1993–94, 1995–96, 1998–99, 2003–04, 2015–16
(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester_United_F.C.)

DeathAngel is right, he said Man United have only won it ones in last 16 years which means from 2004/2005 to 2019/2020. It is only just only ones Man United won which was in 2015/2016. The last they won before 2015/2016 was in 2003/2004 which is seventeen years ago.

But it not yet certain Maybe united will win this season because strong clubs are still there to compete and other clubs can be surprising. This are the next matches.

Today
Norwich City ? - ? Manchester United

June 28
13:00Sheffield United ? - ? Arsenal
16:00Leicester City ? - ? Chelsea
18:30Newcastle United ? - ? Manchester City

Some people screen shot the 2FA backup QR codes including the backup words and characters, some also store the back up on their phones note, this is a poor and a non recommended way to back up 2FA, instead, you should do the paper printing, laminate it and put it in a place safe from damage and intruders(hackers)

We need to also be careful of hackers. Any device our wallets or our 2FA apps are installed, we need to make it safe from malware, trojan horse is able to reveal the 2FA code, also are some malware like rootkit that can reveal detail informations stored on your device, in this way, it can steal the 2 FA backup screen shot.

Make sure your device is free from malware, and do a paper printed 2 FA backup.

There is one also I will like you to include, andOTP 2 factor authenticator, it is also good and open source.

8446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin after all 21 million are mined? on: June 26, 2020, 11:47:18 AM
These transaction fees could potentially rise to many thousands of dollars or more per block as the number of transactions on the blockchain would eventually grow.
It will still take more than a decade before all bitcoin will be mined, we do not really know what could happen, but I do not think the transactions fee can be as high as thousands of dollars because:

First, bitcoin transaction fee may increase to an extent that more people will prefer to use lightning network which makes the transaction faster and at low fee charges, this could be one of the solutions to increasing bitcoin transaction fee.

Second, there could be another bitcoin improvement proposals that could gain bitcoin community interest in such a way to reduce the increasing bitcoin transaction fee.

But I am not disputing the fact that bitcoin transaction fee will increase, it will surely increase because the adoption of bitcoin will increase, the price will increase and this will results in transaction fee inceease, but increase to as high as thousands of dollars will discorage people which I believe is not possible.
8447  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Make it just a little more difficult to create a new account. on: June 26, 2020, 02:07:39 AM
In my opinion, the merit system is enough to shapen this forum, even  creating two accounts will be hard for newbies to develop, it takes time to even develop one account to Hero rank not to talk of Legendary. Most of the new accounts are for bounties but if not for bounties, it will be hard for a single person to develop two accounts.

I like this forum because we are many, if our population is reduced to thousands from the present millions, this forum will actually not be in balance, many signature campaigns will leave, many people will not be able to join or register for bounty campaigns, in a negative feedback, many of us will leave, the members will reduce until Bitcointalk fold up.
8448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this right on: June 26, 2020, 01:37:34 AM
Yeah it's perfectly fine and recommended to do stuff like this.
Preferably the user should point to parts of the text that are relevant to them/the topic but it doesn't violate anything imo.
Okay. Thank you, I just want to be sure, I am still not stale on this forum and this is so new to me. That means we can copy and paste articles from another site but we should include the source link.
8449  Other / Beginners & Help / Is this right on: June 26, 2020, 01:26:27 AM
I find this as a complete plagiarism, I am a bit confused and think this is not right.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5258046.0

Although it was copied and pasted words for words from this link

Although the link was included but complete plagiarism. Is this making any sense at all?
8450  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which coins are bad to invest in on: June 26, 2020, 12:55:26 AM
I am wondering how one can find a hidden gem of a coin that has a lot of potential to grow in the next 5 years or so.
Nobody knows tomorrow but analyzing coins individually and patiently can really help, no other ways to know than to analyze the coins, using indicators, especially RSI. Buying the coin at appropriate time is very important, buying at low price,  you will have to wait until the coins fall in price greatly, even to a certain lowest level it was in 6 months time to a year.

I'm thinking of a long term investment of sorts. How does one differentiate from scam coins versus legitimate coins that will grow in the upcoming years?
New projects can be pumped but subjected to manipulations because of its low marketcap, it can easily be dumped. I will advice you to invest on coins with high marketcap, the coins should have been existing for a long time so you will be able to analyze it and also not to fall victim of a coin that will be dumped. So, bitcoin is a good example, ether is another good example. Some altcoins can even be more profitable but they are also more risky.

New projects are mostly scam coins that will be pumped and dumped.

About bitcoin
Bitcoin is a digital currency and asset, it is decentralized, created in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto who also created this forum. Bitcoin are stored on blockchain, but bitcoin wallet store a key (private key) that unlock bitcoin from blockchain. You can send bitcoin to another bitcoin wallet or to another person having bitcoin wallet through addresses, the transaction takes an average of 10 minutes, miners are responsible for making the transaction successful and update the blockchain ledger. Bitcoin can be traded on exchanges, bitcoin is not anonymous but high level of privacy is maintained. There is a lot more about bitcoin, you can download one of the bitcoin ebooks through a link on this forum

8452  Economy / Lending / Re: HOW CAN I GET A LOAN FOR A BUSINESS. PAY BACK IN SIX MONTHS on: June 25, 2020, 10:34:53 PM
Hello, guys. Please I'm looking for a loan of $1000 to start up a business, selling clothes so I can support my family. I'd be sure to pay back in six months. Please help me as to how I would be able to get this loan. Please anyone🙏
Just to be true, here is not a place for you to get a loan, your btt account can not even serve as a collateral, no merit not even to talk of ranking up, not to talk of joining a campaign. Post quality posts rank up and be a legendary or an established member to easily receive such kind of loan, else look for other means.
8453  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Does Anyone know good webpage to buy bitcoin with credit card..Please Help!! on: June 25, 2020, 08:51:56 PM
I need a reputable webpage to buy bitcoin with a credit card..I am from Japan and binance doesn't support my country, i also tried some Swiss exchange and Estonia exchanger they turn out to be a scam, i need really quick webpage to buy btc and i also hate simplex..

i would appreciate your help...

I do not know about that, it is surprising that you can not buy bitcoin from Japan on binance, but you can try other exchanges which you can use to buy bitcoin directly from Japan, you can use localbitcoin, or coinmama for the purchase. You can read more about this on https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/japan/.

You can also use bitfinex but they have low reputation after it was hacked in 2016, 120,000 btc was stolen from the exchange.

8454  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USDT (erc20) to USD on: June 25, 2020, 07:05:38 PM
This is not hard, how are you sending to fiat before? Is it through bitcoin, ethereum, ripple or any other coin? You will have to give the person an exchange tether address, telling him to send you the tether through the address. You can use good exchanges like binance or kucoin for that or any exchange you use and like. You can convert easily to any of the coin you do receive fiat, it is as simple as that.

8455  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware: FORSAGE another scheme (Ponzi) on: June 25, 2020, 04:50:53 PM
This is just so right, most people do not have enough knowledge about what they invested on, some even do not have any idea at all about it, that is why they are easily scammed. I saw a mate of my on whatsapp telling people they could become a millionaire in two years by trading in cryptocurrencies, some people will just be lured by that and later even lose, some this way fall victim of ponzi scheme and lose. In life, we need to do a thorough research before we invested our funds on such.
8456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin Halving on: June 24, 2020, 09:40:53 PM
Should the conditions change, it could take place exactly after 4 entire years, later or earlier.
This is correct.

Halvings occur every 210,000 blocks. The reason this is close to 4 years is because the average block time is 10 minutes. 210,000 blocks with an average block time of exactly 10 minutes is 2,100,000 minutes, which works out at 3.993 years (accounting of course for the leap day every 4 years).

Now, as we know, the difficulty adjusts every 2016 blocks to try to bring the average block time back towards the average of 10 minutes. The reason the previous halvings haven't taken 4 years is because for the most part the hashrate has been constantly increasing, resulting in an average block time progressively shortening prior to each difficulty adjustment. An average block time of 9 minutes 30 seconds means 210,000 blocks takes (roughly) 3 years and 9.5 months.

If the converse was true, and the hashrate constantly decreased, then the average block time would progressively length prior to each difficulty adjustment. An average block time of 11 minutes means 210,000 blocks would take almost 4 years and 5 months.

@ o_e_l_e_o, thanks for the good explanation about bitcoin halving that could take place before or after 4 years, you clearly explained this in a way someone can easily understand. That means if hash rate miners are generating is increasing, block rewards can fall in a time lesser than 10 minutes and this is responsible for the previous bitcoin halving not getting up to four years in your calculation above, and this was so because miners are constantly increasing and resulting in increasing hash rates, even the highest hashes generated is in this year and this has been increasing since years back.

But the otherwise could happen if the hash rate deceased steadily, because it will result to block time of more than 10 minutes, from your calculation, it could take more than four years before another 210,000 blocks could be mined and this will lengthen bitcoin halving period/time.

So, bitcoin halving period depends on hash rates generated by miners.

I will like you to recommend me a book or site I can read more about this, you comments are always authentic.
8457  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Black Americans are hypocrites, claims black lives matter but hate on Africans. on: June 24, 2020, 08:26:25 PM
Hopefully they won't be hurt too badly, emotionally, when whites and others become fed up with blacks acting the way they do, and put them in their place.

Cool
You need to reread the topic, this is not about racism or issues between blacks and whites in the world nor the Asians as well, CryptopreneurBrainboss is totally talking about the blacks reciding in Africa which is our home and black in diaspera that lives outside Africa. We home always are in full support of black Americans but they see us inferior which supposed not to be.
8458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin Halving on: June 24, 2020, 03:01:05 PM
You are not right either
You need to get me right, I did not say bitcoin halving occur in four years, I said it occurs approximately in every four years, and that is why it is said it occur every four years, using only 210,000 block to explain is accurate but in relation to time is necessary.

the next halving could take place even in December 2024 if mining 210,000 blocks takes that long

It has already been calculated the next halving to occur in February 29, 2024. This will be the fourth  halving, and yet it is still approximately four years which can be assumed to be four years also. So, the next halving from the calculation will occur some days before or after February 29, 2024 not in December that you presumed.

Otherwise, if there was an exact amount of months every which Bitcoin halved, it wouldn't have been called "halving every 4 years" but "halving every X months" instead.
I think this is contradictory to your other comments, which one are you talking about? I commented it happens approximately every four years which can be assumed as four years. If this is what you meant, then you are inline with my comment, do not get this twisted.
8459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin Halving on: June 24, 2020, 02:20:50 PM
  • the halving isn't every 4 years, but every 210.000 blocks
All your statements are correct, even this one is also correct, the first halving was in November 2012, while the second was in July 2016, the third was in May 2020 and definitely the next will happen some months before May in 2024 which means halving is not exactly happening in every 4 years but approximately in every 4 years after each 210,000 blocks are mined. Because halving happens approximately in every four years, it is said that bitcoin halves in every four years.

I am not saying what the thread starter posted is authentic though, in fact, he should follow your advice to learn before posting for not to mislead people.
8460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin Halving on: June 24, 2020, 01:09:52 PM
Many of those who work with Bitcoin have no idea about Bitcoin Halving.
But not on this forum, halving is like asking someone 'what is water' here.

For example, halving means halving or halving means the price of bitcoin has dropped a lot
You are wrong, bitcoin halving specifically is when bitcoin block reward halves, in the process, bitcoin supply is reduced. It happens approximately every four years after another 210,000 blocks are mined. This is the simple points you supposed to clearly explain.

If there is any mistake in this discussion, you will see it with forgiveness.
This forum is not for making mistakes, your works must be excellent, your posts must be authentic.
