So, after going through this thread.. I only have one question.    Is MemCID like a spurned ex-gf of Gaw's owner?
I'm someone who lost a lot of money investing in GAWMiners from day 1.

Would love to see some proof Wink

Good luck with that. He's a complete moron/IDIOT!!

Anyone from newbz to heros can partake in this signature campaign.

It will be funded by various pool owners and Gaw competition.

Have a good night all.

8524  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW ZenCloud ZenPool Hashlet - does it really exist? ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: September 11, 2014, 12:00:29 AM
Okay Josh the  ceo   of zen-gaw and I had a long talk via pm.  He paid me 1.75btc .

0.75btc   was to repay the money I spent to figure the nicehash issue out.

1.0btc was a finders fee  for saving his company a possible huge financial  setback  if this was done after the large fri sha256 was done.

I wish I had been able to explain this easier and simpler and not cased the drama that has occurred.

But plain and simple  If I had figured out Mt Gox 1 week sooner and saved that day I would have.
If I figured out BIPs in advance and saved 1000 lost coins I would have.
If I had been able to do this for trade fortress I would have.

I also think in each case I would have pissed off a lot of people.  No matter had I did it.
I know that I pissed off people here was not my intent.  I still have an S-3 mining in the zen cloud and it will earn less.  I want to point out they stopped the problem and knowing them they will come up with a better idea.
I still feel like I walked up to them and said your left nut is bad it has to go.  Or if you arer a girl your left ovary is bad time to cut it out. the pain today is real but in the long run you will survive.
To their credit they did give me a bounty and did not fluff off the problem.  If they were MT Gox they would have run.

Josh thank you for being a stand up guy. Plus a man of your word.

I think that what you did was right and please stop worrying about the naysayers. I almost looks like you are starting every post on hashtalk with an apology Smiley. It's not your fault that the system was messed up, it's not your fault that someone took advantage of it, it's not your fault your e-mail got caught up in spam filters and let's face it, a lot of people in your position would have kept it to themselves and enjoyed the few more days of extra gains Smiley. I may not share your optimism about how GAW will handle this in the long run, but this doesn't change the fact that you did the right thing and it's great to have you in the forums.

+100 - go have a beer and pat yourself on the back for saving them, and by extension, us (well some of us?) a potential loss.

I commend Josh for the 1 btc he gave you, but personally, i probably would have given you a few more, considering the loss could have been huge without the exposure, but hey, take what you get i guess. I feel a bit better about them overall as well. thanks. Now the trolls will have their say.. :\
8525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 10, 2014, 11:09:04 PM
I'm not sure if you guys noticed but you can withdraw XMR from Poloniex directly to your bank card, check the announcement at the Poloniex homepage. You have to buy XUSD and withdraw it through Coinomat.com

The fees are hideous, but it's a cool service and idea.

Plus, i suppose it keeps them(hopefully?) shielded from all the stupid US money regulations involving BTC/USD .. Can't blame them there.  Undecided

But with my "s3's" not being able to mine there is quite annoying!

You'd think they could at least keep up the appearance of "real" hardware their customers purchased and own. Ok, let's say the hashlets are somehow hardwired into "private pools", but the S3 can definitely be set up to mine on NiceHash with a reasonable "p=" value, problem solved.

BTW you can get a refund for the newly purchased Genesis hashlets, but you can't for S3, at least that's what I got skimming through that HT thread.

Looks like the "GAWsomeness" is quickly drying up over there today -

https://hashtalk.org/topic/5145/nicehash-sha256/697

I'll also quote it, since it may just get deleted very soon -

"Calls into question the GAWs entire strategy.
Here's a question. Why are BTC Guild and GHASH.io payouts exactly the same every day.
Answer: They're not - That is impossible.
Seriously questionable stuff going on here."

Disclaimer - I do own a couple of hashlets from day 1 of sales, so i'm still on the fence, but I see this ending badly

Do the agent a big favor, and provide him with this thread, too.

He got back to me. The victim of the crime should call his local field office and issue a complaint.

Your move Satoshi.

Theymos should be the one to do it and forward that email he got

absolutely.. theymos? we need you! Thanks! Cheesy
8529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised on: September 10, 2014, 01:25:09 AM
I would surmise that the lives of the founders are now potentially in danger.
No.

No.

And so much more no.

Why must I/we continue to live in this world. We have the tool needed to liberate (wo)man, and we want to spend our time crucifying a child.  Bitcoin media should take shame, shotty journalism making summary news on shotty journalism. We have ability to prove ourselves in terms of "I am satsohi".  Stop and think.  You are all to stuck on the idea of "gold", so much so you forget that "bitcoin" is really and simply an un-decrytable lock.  The whole monetary aspect is simply the product of that.   Satoshi didn't leave his bitcoin key's in his email, nor his identity, nor any other significant dox.

You have a person, with clearly the mentality of a child claim they knew they could have manipulated the price and/or demanded a ransom but choose instead a 500btc "donation" from the community.  The kid doesn't have anything, and this is why they posted an invoice with satoshi's email.  That's not evidence of anything other than they have nothing and the general community is gullible. No one needs to die over this, and the cops and fed aren't going to do anything, the beast that is bitcoin has been released, and no one stands to gain by its demise, and this means the fed cannot within its economic ability, do anything.  The fed seeks $ev opportunity, because of the invisible hand, and taking out either this kid or satoshi does not feed that need.

Nor would we want it too, are we sure we are spending our energy in the correct direction?  Are we still supposed to be segregating people from the general population and out-casting them with threatening perspectives?

The media prints what the peoples want....this is what YOU wanted.

Satoshi doesn't give a shit if they are outed, that is obvious, bitcoin has spread like wildfire, and every single country, government, financial institution in the world is feverishly trying to adjust and adapt. People around the world are watching as their "peoples" and 3rd world countries are beginning to be connected to the global economy. Government isn't coming after satoshi, government is made of people, it's different now, different because bitcoin is HERE.  "Satoshi" whomever the name stands for, needed to hide until bitcoin become accepted by enough peoples, the size at which it could not be contained...after that...there is no reason to go after them-its done.

I will always maintain Satoshi hides not from the governments, but from the peoples, the masses that throughout the ages have gone on insane witch hunts torturing those that are different or not understood. "Satoshi" doesn't get to walk this earth freely, yet they clearly freed mankind.  Why do you get to walk free?  Are you not mankind?

These people that go around speaking to important bodies in a "politically" correct fashion, so as not to disturb the status quo...is this what we call rationality?  The greatest "invention" of all of mankind and the inventor and the peoples behind it must be secretive and cautious about it?  Why can we not collectively just adopt this technology and move with it, why we are stuck on some child like mind playing a prank on a seemingly deserving community?

It's not this child's fault Satoshi's is at risk, we must look to ourselves, always look to ourselves, who else is there but "us".

Don't be mean.

And btw, if you don't think Nick Szabo's blog was all the information needed to lead up to and create bitcoin you haven't read it. You simply haven't read szabo's writings.  We know who szabo satoshi and dai are if we have read their materials.  And if we have versed ourselves on their works we know whoever nick szabo is, he functions well above the jurisdiction of the "feds", he's been ahead of these intelligence agencies for a VERY long time.

We are underestimating the intelligence of Satoshi (who proposed bitcoin) and Szabo (and even dai), there are not 2 of these men. They have seen very very far into the past, and even further into the future, well beyond the new technologies like ethereum that are coming out.

It's true even the best screw up, but not like this, and even if it were so, the only reason satoshi's email would possibly be linkable to their identity is as a time lock in case they passed they knew it would be hacked.  In fact satoshi knew they'd be "dox'd" eventually, its probably just a "game" to them at this point.

No more witch hunts, I want to live in a world where Satoshi feels free, and comfortable to walk the earth as they please...in full view of who they TRULY are.

Dear world please change, because Satoshi, I want to thank-you... I have a feeling you spent decades on this, for the world to experience something you might possible never will truly see the full extent of....

also...there's this guy...who's been touring the world since 1995 (when szabo started blogging), talking about a new concept of money that might force the governments to bow to the peoples demands in relation to a more stable inflation rate. Super good at encryption knowledge and math.  Really good at game theory too because they invented our solutions for it (bitcoin is about equilibrium game theory right?). One time they re wrote our understanding of economics but it took us 40 years to realize it (bitcoin has been 5 but the talks around the world have been 20?). They had to go into confinement for claiming they had the solution to governments colluding against the people. Super smart guy, like Szabo and Satoshi, only I feel like there is only one person at this magnitude of intelligence (why do we feel like there is 5?). Once time they wrote the government explaining they could create an effectively undecryptable encryption, also in another letter wrote about how a highly parallel computer system could function in a decentralized fashion...was over 50 years ago though....

Im not even wasting one fucking iota of my life even reading this. your clearly his friend , or him, or his mama.. Yo...  He's fuxxed...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_Fraud_and_Abuse_Act

Read it and weep bitch.  shit's going down hard tomorrow morning , USA time,, watch the news and weep... LMFAO.. stop wasting lives, you moronic retard waste of life... Omg, sorry but this is getting old. i gotta get some sleep.. Unbelievable... :S

Edit - WTF does Nick Szabo have to do with this Huh For real? You are beyond the pale loser... Have a nice life in hell.. LOL..

+101

Good find.

I'm 99% sold on the chain of links that it's him.

But there is the 1% that thinks we might have another Dorian Nakamoto moment.

Worth hauling him in to teach him a lesson at the very minimum. He seems like a real piece of work. Could be doing him a favour and saving him from a life behind bars.

I am more concerned of the ramification of this child's actions.   For criminals and federal agents, it has led a nice warm path to the founders of the Bitcoin system and this implies the Bitcoin system is now vulnerable if the original founders are found.  Furthermore since there is billions and potentially trillions of dollars involved, I would surmise that the lives of the founders are now potentially in danger.

I'd say that is a stretch, but certainly possible .. I personally think satoshi was smart enough to not leave his id in that mailbox, i mean, it's on the damn whitepaper!...   we shall see I suppose....
8531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised on: September 10, 2014, 12:20:14 AM
I think the question remains. How he get access to the Satoshi's email account?

have you read this thread? its pretty much established that satoshis email password reset question was his birthday which was brute forced.

So is anyone in the USA going to step up to the plate and phone this into the police? The BTC community went SJW crazy last time someone tried to expose Satoshi, we should now and again in the future especially when its a dumb kid. At least it was only a dumb kid, who didnt truly appreciate what he could of done to BTC, as someone posted earlier they could of easily started rumours that they were about to dump their million coins and sent the market into a panic

Seriously? the local police would just be like "Uh.. Wut"? The FEDS need to be notified - he has clearly violated the CFA, so now he should pay the price -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_Fraud_and_Abuse_Act

Yeah.. sucks to be him... I'm sure they don't need any phone calls, they are watching this all unroll in real-time , just like us ...

Guy must feel terrible at the moment! He is finally confronted with reality and that will change him forever. Hopefully, he will gain all the learning lessons that can be taken from this. He got what he deserved and kudos to him.

0.01 BTC says the kid does no time for this, but does time for something else down the road.

I agree, A very probable sequence of events. Just saying, we were all young and have done some stupid things. Instead, care to make that 0.01 BTC with Rock-paper-scissors on counterparty? Never enjoyed betting on lives :-)

Yeah, but this is VERY different. The news media will be on this like flies on shit by tomorrow, and the feds probably, just cuz that's what they do... Then again... Who knows?

However - I'd gladly wager that .01 btc that eventually he pays hard for this - pm me if you have a way to do it securely via escrow. The wheels of justice grind very slowly in the us, so it may literally be years before this "bet" ever wins or loses. Thanks!

You think so? I don't think this will even hit the msm radar. Maybe an article here or there. we'll see.

Good point, so not sure to be honest. Suppose it all depends on what Roger and his clan plan to do about it ... but i think something will be on the radar tomorrow, I mean, this isn't something small, this is someone who has literally haxxored the most important BTC developer on the planet. that is not small news friend, sorry.  Thank Leah Goodman IMO... Wink

+100 ... I'd sure hate to be that kid right now/today... (or tomorrow - if it's true, he's about to become famous in a very bad way)... then the shit about his mom & welfare? wtf... i didn't even read it.. stupid skids indeed).

Am I missing something here?  What evidence is there that this person is the actual hacker?  Can somebody point it out?

Follow the reddit posts in the posts in the prior two pages - its pretty much all falling into place - same skype usernames as the kid who tried to hack roger etc..

on the reddit links, hit Context to see the full thread(s).  sorry can't link right now, but i am 99% sure he's busted hard here, and is going to become famous for all the wrong reasons by tomorrow am... Can't even believe these dumbass skids leaving leaving moronic crap and trails everywhere...

This kid doesn't even deserve to be called a black-hat hacker IMO, he's just another moronic/narcissistic skid!!
