8541  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Is Damaging Press Freedom in the U.S. and Abroad on: March 04, 2017, 04:16:56 PM
This is just plain bull! This is like Martial Law in the Philippines. All media outlets has been blacked out to stop coveribg the real news. This is a right every people should have, access to information. We may have shitty news but we atleast know what's put there. If he does this and a lot of things don't get published, the US will definitely face a difficult future.

Trump know very well how to manipulate public opinion through fake news, social media, conservative newspapers etc.
Before 20 or 30 years main newspapers and TV was only source of info for the people.
With the Internet and social media, anybody can post news and now, we have so many false news that people are confuse and don't know what is truth any more.
For Trump, such situation is perfect for his plan, how to change public opinion and destroy main newspapers as relevant source of info.
After that, I'm afraid that he will ruin any kind of freedom in America.

8542  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Conservatives/Republicans should be banned from America on: March 04, 2017, 04:10:44 PM
You have to understand that we live in the free world, democracy.
In the free world, all people are free to think what they want, and express their opinions freely.
You can't ban people because they don't think like you.
In our societies, we are free to think and act if we don't hurt others.
In the free elections, we freely choose our representatives and president.
We can say it's not perfect political system but still it's much better than political system in north Korea or Saudi Arabia, for example.
Think about it.

8543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "BTC Will do to banks what Email did to the postal industry" on: March 04, 2017, 04:02:16 PM
I don't think that something like this may happen in the near future.
You have to understand that banks and finances are highly regulated in our societies.
All users of such services must pass very strict identity control, personal check, job, financial status etc.
Bitcoin is decentralized, without any government control and it's impossible to control identity of users, personal check, job, financial status etc.
So, right now, I don't see how bitcoin can replace banks.
I think that bitcoin will remain alternative way of payment and alternative currency.

8544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you consider sending bitcoin transaction miner fee a "Fee"? on: March 04, 2017, 03:55:29 PM
Hello i remember when the past when i first touch bitcoin, the best thing that attract me is the fee less transaction itself.

And during the olden days when i transact, the fee's doesn't show some impact because during that time the price of btc is just $300-400

But currently, i've came across in order to send and get within 15minute, i would need to sent a fee of $0.5 - $0.8 as a miner fee.

Of course by comparing to CC/DC payment, it is still a very low fee.

Despite of that, as i am using blockchain, the current transaction min fee i sent is $0.12 where in paypal for a $2 transaction i will just add a $0.02 fee.

1) Is sending miner fee consider as a "fee"? As most of the blogs, articles mentioned : Transaction involves no fee

2) Will the rise of bitcoin push back users actually went back to the origin payment processor like paypal skrill? As the fees which sent is calculated by Satoshi per Byte.
According to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ as of 4/3/2017

The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 180 satoshis/byte, shown in green at the top.
For the median transaction size of 226 bytes, this results in a fee of 40,680 satoshis.

3) Is it possible to not include fee or a very low fee? If yes, will my transaction ever being sent? If yes, the max duration would be?

Thanks! Cryptocurrency is a very wide knowledge area but also interesting, i hope that i could be someone who are in the field of cryptocurrency in the future!

Very good questions.
OK, I will try to answer them.
Recently, I send several btc transactions and chose suggested, standard fee. I had to wait more than 24 hours for confirmation.
Because of this experience, last time I manually changed fee and offer3-4 times higher fee. I received confirmation in 10 minutes Smiley WOW!
So, yes, with small fee your btc transaction will pass but with a very big delay.
Still, I don't plan to go back to the Paypal or Skrill.
For me is also very important anonymity and this I can'0t get with other payment processors, controlled by the government.

8545  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is US election really get hacked? on: March 02, 2017, 05:42:34 PM
We can't give definitive answer without concrete facts and profs.
It seems that Putin and Russia really had desire to see Trump as new US President.
Real question is really if they did something about it.
I doubt that Trump, or his team, will work hard on this issue Smiley
Public will never know real truth about it.

8546  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Marine Le Pen win? on: March 02, 2017, 05:38:53 PM
Yes, she can win, of course Smiley
Nobody believed in Brexit or that Trump can win US presidential elections and we see what happened.
It's real question how much French people still believe in their political establishment.
If they fear immigrants very much and don't trust current political leaders, than Le Pen have very good chances to win.
If such scenario happen, we will see also Freexit and probably the end of EU.

8547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the biggest mistakes you've done with Bitcoin? on: March 02, 2017, 05:31:52 PM
Honestly, my biggest mistake with bitcoin is that I joined to late.
I had opportunity to join a year or two earlier but was skeptic and missed great opportunity to collect many bitcoin for only $ 200 or so.
When I see today's price of bitcoin, I feel sad.
It's school, I guess.
8548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi? Why did he hide his identity? on: March 02, 2017, 05:26:32 PM
I can tell you many reasons why Satoshi hide his identity.
He don't like publicity.
He wants to have peaceful life.
His mission is over.
I can think about many other reasons but it's wasting of time to think about it since we will never know the right answer.
Is this really so much important for you?
Anything important will change in your life if you find answer to this question?
I suggest that we all focus on much more important things and move on.
Enjoy your bitcoin life Smiley

8549  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Kako zaraditi prosjecnu Hrvatsku placu postanjem na bitcointalk forumu? on: March 02, 2017, 05:13:31 PM

8550  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe in god? on: February 28, 2017, 03:10:22 PM
I do believe in God and I think there are so many bad things because there is also evil presence

Yes, I agree with you.
We can't win evil forces alone.
We need heavenly protection and guidance every day.
If we can lead such way, we will be stronger and have more happy life.
Yes, I believe in God.
I also believe that God gave us absolute moral standard and guidance, through the Bible, in order that we can understand purpose of our life, and live happy and joyful life.

8551  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Muslim Bakery refuses to bake cake for Gay Wedding? on: February 28, 2017, 03:07:03 PM
I think that we should respect their decision.
There is no law that I have to accept offer from every customer.
If I don't have enough resources, time etc. to fulfill order, I have right to refuse.
It's freedom and democracy, after all.
Guys could simple ask other shop for the wedding cake.
If shop feels that making cakes for Gay wedding may ruin their reputation, and damage their business, they have right to refuse.
Do we want to force people in the free market what to do and how to lead their business?

8552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: February 28, 2017, 03:02:54 PM
I can think about a few things.
Some very bad media reports about bitcoin, which can change public opinion about us.
Also, bitcoin, in the most countries, is not recognized as official way of payment, currency or financial asset.
So, how to report tax, for example?
How to use bitcoin in everyday life, not just online?
It's still very complicate since there is no financial regulation about bitcoin.

8553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used by ordinary citizens? on: February 28, 2017, 02:59:38 PM
Yes, anybody can use Bitcoin, but there are some limitations and conditions, of course.
First, Internet aces is essential.
Smartphone or table computer with electricity also.
Knowledge of English is helpful.
Also, basic knowledge about Internet is also important.
So, based on this, I'm sure that not everybody can use bitcoin.

8554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The anti-Putin paranoia. on: February 26, 2017, 04:35:35 PM
Putin is not our friend, to say the least.

Perhaps that is true. But I don't think that he is the enemy as well. The real enemy for the European civilization is the hordes of immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa. Russia and Putin is not a threat to the European culture.

Depends on how great he wants to make russia again.
The biggest difference of putins politics to any other is that he has time (see the gleichschaltung of the russian media which took around a decade).
He can reign for next 50 years if he can stop the economic meltdown of russia.

I also think that he want to rule Russia like new Stalin or czar Peter the Great, as dictator.
His ambition is obviously to restore USSR and to become first global super power, like in the old days, during cold war.
It seems that ordinary Russians like such vision and even are willing to sacrifice their own lives, have a worse standard of living, if this means that their country will be great again.
Russian national pride and desire for former greatness are great and Putin is the best president in such conditions and circumstances.

8555  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Is Damaging Press Freedom in the U.S. and Abroad on: February 26, 2017, 04:24:33 PM
Yes, I agree that Trump will damage press freedom but it's not all.
He will damage human rights of many people in America, specially people without legal papers.
He will damage trade relationships with EU, China, Canada, Mexico, many other countries as well.
He will damage international security as well, weaken NATO etc.
I'm afraid that next US president will have very difficult job to repair it.

8556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you remember the very first time you sent a Bitcoin transaction? on: February 26, 2017, 04:17:38 PM
Yes, I think I remember Smiley
I earned some bitcoin in my wallet, and decided to invest in one online business.
At that time, I couldn't pay with my bitcoin funds, so i had to transfer bitcoin through wirvox exchange service to my Paypal account.
It took me a lot money for fees so i learned my lesson well.

8557  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The anti-Putin paranoia. on: February 25, 2017, 02:59:36 PM
Putin is not our friend, to say the least.
Please ask Russian neighbors what they think about Putin and Russia today.
They are all afraid from Russia and asking Nato and America to protect them.
Russia and Putin have very aggressive politics toward Ukraine, Georgia, Balkan region etc.
I the Montenegro they tried to violently oust the democratically elected government in order to prevent Montenegro to join NATO.
So, obviously, Putin is not fun of democracy, freedom and western world, don't be naive.

8558  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The White House bars several news organisations from briefing on: February 25, 2017, 02:49:03 PM
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/24/media-blocked-white-house-briefing-sean-spicer

Steve bannon - the press is the opposition and 'should keep its mouth shut'.

Trump tweet - the press is 'the enemy of the people'.

This is a rather uncool move. I wonder when everybody who isn't a Breitbart zombie starts to wonder what's been unleashed.

In democracy, I mean ''real'' democracy, free media is essential.
Media represent different kind of people and different opinions so they will not support government all the time, it's natural.
Still, real democracy means that we accept opposition and different views on the same issues.
If we can't accept different views, censor media and demand that everybody ''must'' agree with our viewpoint, in my opinion it's not any more democracy but tyranny.
It's seems that Trump wants to brainwash people so that everybody follow only him and accepts only his opinion as right opinion.
Everybody else, who don't think as President, are enemies.
Soon, such people, who dare to think differently from Mr. President, will probably end up in jail.
What is going on with democracy and freedom in America?

8559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins Everywhere? Not yet... on: February 25, 2017, 02:30:01 PM
I can speak about my country, Croatia.
We don't have so much users and only a few offline merchants accepts bitcoin for payment.
Recently, we got 2 btc ATM's and it's all.
So, I don't have much options what to do with my btc funds.
I can't spend it offline, only online or keep all funds in the wallet.
Hopefully it will change soon.

8560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Egad. 81,000 + Transactions Unconfirmed. Again. Ugh! on: February 25, 2017, 02:24:23 PM
I really don't know what is going on but very long waiting time for BTC transactions confirmation really creating serious problems.
I remember that just a few months ago all my transaction was confirmed in a few hours.
Recently, I usually have to wait for more than 24 hours.
Bitcoin is still the most popular crypto currency but if we can't solve problem with unconfirmed transactions, I'm sure that more people will give up from bitcoin and choose other crypto currency.
