862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a peer to peer method less popular than as an investment on: November 13, 2023, 08:33:50 PM
Yes it's true that bitcoin has lost its inherent use as peer to peer means for making payment to newer adopters of Bitcoin but its still good aside from the point of increasing adoption as stated by you in your post, I believe Satoshi saw this before Creating Bitcoin and so it was not made as a Stable coin, no matter what anything that appreciate in the long run in value will one way or the other be seen by investors and this implies to Bitcoin also. Now everyone has a view of what they see bitcoin as like:a way of being free from government and banks, fast and secure transaction and others but the view of being a means is still included to the other views because nobody will wants to turn down a chance of making more money.

If you mean peer-to-peer in a decentralized way where 2 people make transactions with no platform in between, humanity has lost trust in each other.  Grin That's what's happening. Face-to-face transactions would be possible but still risky.
Actually this has not been a really effect for bitcoin adopters not using bitcoin as a means of payment, there are thousands of people who used it, the risks mentioned is still affecting the physical currency of any country, that's why we have to be cautious of who we do business with
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 13, 2023, 08:11:25 PM
Chelsea players where outstanding, Manchester United players don't have this charisma that was displayed by Chelsea players, even at the die minute when it seemed all hope's where lost, they where still persisting to get something out of the game, it was would have gone in the favour of Chelsea though, because they missed a lot of chances.
With the way Jackson and sterling where mesmerizing the defence line of Manchester city, it was obvious city doesn't have its defence uptight, more like they have, good midfielders and strikers but not too much of a solid defence.
This was quite a tense match for both teams and previous predictions that Manchester City were favorites disappeared after Chelsea's players played extraordinary and it was very clear how Mouricio Pochettino succeeded in implementing a strategy to reduce Manchester City's game which controlled the game. To be honest, this is the first time I have seen Chelsea play so solidly and they didn't waste time holding the ball. Sterling and Gallagher are two key players who were able to provide positive results in this match.

Manchester City also played quite well in this match, but their defense was less solid because there were several mistakes made which allowed Chelsea to score a goal. The draw achieved by Manchester City made Liverpool and Arsenal quite profitable because currently they are only one point away from Manchester City at the top of the standings, while Tottenham dropped to fourth position after suffering two consecutive defeats.
You can't blame any Man City defenders, they did better than the Chelsea defence in that match (the CB though), Chelsea was the better team in the game, you can see it in their fighting spirit till the end of the game while Conor, Palmer and Sterling did really well, Jackson still need to improve, if Haaland had all the opportunity he had in that game, you know Chelsea would have definitely lost
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 12, 2023, 09:50:42 PM
It's funny or dissappointing seeing alot of people who still sees the Internet as a secure place for getting financial assistance especially relating to cryptocurrency comprising their privacy most times just to find support like this Demystifying living a private life and your bitcoin.
I won't be surprised if they ask him for his private key but more likely the victim is a lier, if you go through the link provided by OP, I believe no body would have such amount of bitcoin and keep it in a place where scammers can easily get it or if by peradventure they fall victim they won't have fallen from such scam or make such post.

It hurts to see that whenever Chelsea has gotten their momentum in any game the next thing is international break, to me it kills their morale big time but I hope they won't mess up when they get back from the break.
I don't see international break affecting performance for the now, this is the second international break since they started building momentum but I still hope they continued more like this and become a better team, the defence is getting bad for me and I don't have High hopes on Sanchez. Let's see how it goes after international break Nkunku and Latvia might be fit so that would benefit us well especially in the attack
It's not even that Manchester City are three-time league winners or that they're actually stronger. The point is that after such terrible performances from Chelsea they are finally starting to show their old level, this is the second match in a row where they are playing great and a draw in such a match is a victory
I'm so proud of Chelsea it's been a long time since I see Chelsea having a fighting spirit, Chelsea did had a chance of winning the game if not of the referee and lacking finishing but it's all good, hope is there for top 4. Hope Nkunku will do well once He comes back
867  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: As bitcoin is rising what is your plans on: November 10, 2023, 08:37:17 PM
When you check you will see that bitcoin price is rising day and night and what price do you think that will be maximum price of bitcoin this year and before we enters 2024,
The market is bullish and will continue like this even after the end of the year and so bitcoin price will continue to rise and may likely get to $50,000 before the end of the year or maybe more than Grin.

Quote
and again what will you advice people to do as the price of bitcoin is increasing, will you advice people to buy now or will you tell people around your neighbourhood who is lovers of bitcoin to wait until the price is down before you buy bitcoin

Buy and HODL bitcoin because bitcoin price will continue to surge even after the end of the year and what will make it drop would be its halving coming up next year, keeping every other thing constant, with this I don't see any reason why advising someone to get bitcoin now would be a bad investment plan now.

There are some many skills to learn using your laptop but the but the biggest issues is persevere in the skill you are learning. Most beginners just want to earn from the skill they are learning without completing or going a bit far on their learning process, forgetting the fact that learners are earners, everyone who we inspire us was once beginner in the learning process before they got to position they are now and will continue learning to grow. Some of these skills include:
  • digital marketing
  • Web development
  • Writing (those offering writing services like Copywriting, script writing, stories, birthday wishes and others).
  • Graphics design, Animation and lots more
869  Other / Meta / Re: PROPOSAL FOR NAIJA (NIGERIA LB) SUB-BOARDS CREATION on: November 10, 2023, 04:47:48 AM
more merit sources, more source merit, discussions about spam too.
That's because it is among the issue we are facing, if not for Hugeblack support how do you think we would have fare? so far definitely he would have known if our LB is full of shit post and I know he understands why we need additional merit source or at least increase CryptopreneurBrainboss merit allocation.

What did I do wrong in my post?
If a board is spam, very spam, admins will lock it, it's reality. I wrote that local members are responsible for what they write and discuss, not the admins.

I did not say I am against sub boards for Nigeria.
But the way you put it, is more likely you are relating it to our local board and if you are not then stop using it relatively to us, we know how important this two we requested for us and is not that the Nigeria Local Board is filled with spam posters like you relating it to, we still have alot of quality posters, sometimes is interesting that members outside our local board are interested, we are among top 4 most active local board here, check this post to see our monthly overview for September since our October overview has not been updated by Igebotz and reason was that he travelled without his pc.

870  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How Many Child Boards do We asked? on: November 10, 2023, 04:32:54 AM
I don't like the idea of requesting the same thing over and over again; we're not the only LB on the forum, so when we want something, we do it completely before moving on to the next request. The concept of asking only a few subboards and then requesting others again later is wrong. theymos is someone who takes their time in approving a request. Not to mention the two merits source applications that are currently waiting.
Mention other boards that you think that we need. But as for bitcoin discussion, this is one of the main purpose of the local board main board, it is about bitcoin discussion. Another one which can be altcoins discussion, I noticed we Nigerians are not discussing about altcoins. Other ones  which I can suggest, I noticed that we are not discussing about them. But you can come up with some ones you noticed that we are discussing more about.
The only two board I could think of now which might be effective later on is the mining board but the issue is that there have not been any miner on our local board at the moment and the other is the price speculation board for bitcoin and naira.

If you check the link we referred to, they are completely off-topics, aside the other ones which should belong to Naija politics and society. On English board, our posts can be moved to a board that signature campaign does not count, that should not be an excuse. Do not forget that we post to learn from each and everyone, although being paid is encouraging.
Yes, this idea is better limiting spammers and possibly shit posters, should this be stated on here :Proposal For Naija (Nigeria LB) Sub-Boards Creation

People that want privacy are going for decentralized exchanges, most people today that are just knowing about cryptocurrencies do not know the privacy that we are referring. Centralized exchanges are very good in marketing and more of the newbies are using the exchanges.
Fact, I remember when I came into crypto space my trust was in CEX, saw no issues with KYC until my eye opener hereWhy KYC de very very dangerous – and useless. Binance really has good marketing and they will continue to capture more Newbies

To be honest, not likely anytime soon but e no mean say e no fit happen. With the way I dey see this industry dey go wey be say everybody just dey ask for regulations, e go increase the need of centralized exchanges and wallet providers because na one of the ways wey the government go fit regulate the industry be dat (by regulating the exchanges and wallets provides wey dey centralization like dem Binance and trust wallet). So if we want DEX to shine wey no suppose dey follow ask for regulation, make we allow the industry dey like this but work on decentralized ways to make the market more secure as scammers just dey feast for this side as na people's wey no know how to handle demselfs full here.
It's true regulation is inevitable because of all the scam and shit crypto projects. I may not be wrong saying 90% of cryptocurrency are of no value/use. If it was only bitcoin then it would be easier but I guess in the long almost all bitcoiners will opt for non-custodial wallet.
So trustwallet is no longer a DEX?

Lol....I just remember. I don even 4get say na home I dey self, I 4 dey blow my pidgin dey go. The tin dey sweet my skull.  Grin
Omo Comrade, pidgin dope sha make man lie, E dey make LB dey sweet sha

@Hatchy and @Jaycoinz, it was stated clearly why he created this post, it is the quickest way to get the attention of everyone here. I don't really think there is any need to for this thread to be locked though because the two post are quite different

This guy got robbed, got his Binance funds stolen, and after all... He took a picture of his upside-down room, and uploaded it to Twitter. Hasn't he learned his lesson yet?
Nope, he is looking for compassion online which he may get and also may get more criminals attention.
Disheartening to see that he is tracking the criminal and he still have the mind to post this online and makes his plans public.
Hope he will relocate and live a more private life to avoid really losing his life.

Op, this part shouldn't be added to your translation, I advice you removed it.
We should be cautious of how we speak of our Bitcoin investment, even if we are trying to teach or introduce Bitcoin to someone to avoid jealousy or for such person to  know your worth not just friends but relatives because jealousy or issues can come from anyone.
The Internet is not a friendly place if you take your privacy and security simply then get ready to face the dangers of it especially the threat of KYC which is one of the easiest ways hackers and scammers can get a complete details about you.
877  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: With the current hardship?? on: November 07, 2023, 04:07:24 AM
The economy is bad and will still get worse but the fact is that it doesn't mean you have to be taking your invested bitcoin. To avoid all this set up plan for your bitcoin investment, invest in a amount that you know will not affect your cost of living, you are investing not saving so if you continue to take what will now be left of your investment funds?

It's been a year now since the whole FTX crash, which affected stock, forex and crypto market. Alot of people said bitcoin will die follow up the dip by bitcoin after the crash now is a year and bitcoin is still bitcoin beating every challenges to prove others wrong. CEX really has helped us in p2p but it's as cost more harm than good aside from the FTX crash other CEX has crash which has affected the crypto space but bitcoin is constantly showing reasons why its bigger than them. In the long run I believe everyone will go back to DEX and using custodian wallet or maybe if SEC gives a proper regulation to CEX because though they are called crash most has been more of a scam or foolish decision by the founder.
Questions :
  • During the FTX crisis what your belief on bitcoin?  As for me at that time I was not an active member of the forum or know anything about bitcoin and so I believe those false claims
  • Do you think will soon stop using CEX and opt for DEX and non custodian wallet?
879  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: November 07, 2023, 02:16:00 AM
Within reason, I personally don't mind the idea of overly investing into bitcoin, but each of us needs to try to make sure that we have our emergency funds covered and our cashflow, so that we do not get into a financial and/or psychological pickle because we had been overly investing into BTC.
I guess this is something most of don't get, invest what you know you can afford while still being able to live your life the way you live. Bitcoin investment is not ponzi schemes that would crash, so you don't need to panic buy or sell but no body should still be having this mentality,
It's been a year since the FTX crash the term bitcoin is doom is over but bitcoin is still bitcoin with this and the previous challenges bitcoin will rise above all and soon people will see no need for CEX because bitcoin has overcome all the challenges CEX to the crypto world and so opt for DEX and non custodian wallet and it will be bitcoin or bitcoin investment.
Sometimes the biggest issues is during the bull run, though your plan was to HODL for 2 years and suddenly like 6 months time, the process surge some might be tempted to sale even before it reach their expected ROI.

Sitting down to watch Tottenham vs Chelsea. Expecting Tottenham to win but wouldn’t surprise me if Chelsea took a point, they’re a weird team. Lots of talented individuals but no cohesion, can Poch get them fired up for this game?

Spurs 1-4 Chelsea

Was a feeling Chelsea would win but never expected Jackson to score an hatrick, when last a Chelsea player/striker did that in Epl. Chelsea really need him to be consistent then hope of getting to top 4 would be possible
