I also have a 20k science fiction story which I'm no longer seeking 'proper' publication for.  I wrote it about 5 years ago and thought it was great at the time, but with hindsight it needs some changes, but if I can publish what I've got and get paid that would be great.

I also have a 45k fantasy novel that is unfinished, it's got about half the story to go still and is only a draft.  (in terms of spelling/grammer it's fine, but the plot + magic system I'm still working on and will be edited a lot alter).

So what I'm really asking is, can drafts of novels be published on Devtome?

Edit:  I just read your reply FinShaggy, so I could publish these on Devtome and openly call them 'drafts' and that would be ok.  Then if I wanted to sell them in the future after lots of editing that would also be ok?

I have a 50,000 word travel book I wrote about hiking the appalachian trail.  Could I publish that on Devtome?  If its only roughly $10 per 1000 words it's not worth it and I wouldn't do it.  If it's $50 per 1000 words I would...

You could. And it's not like they are purchasing your text, just paying you to write whatever you want.

Hmm ok, so they don't 'own' the content they pay you for?  So if in the future I wanted to self-publish my book on kindle, I could still do that, despite having it already published on Devtome? (people could of course find it on Devtome for free rather than paying for the kindle version, but apart from that).

864  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do YOU value Bitcoins worth? on: September 16, 2013, 04:36:00 PM
Usually bitstamp, but I check localbitcoins too as that's the service I use for selling them because its quickest.
865  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are repeating 2012, not 2011 on: September 16, 2013, 09:54:10 AM
You're right the rise this year was bigger, and the plateau may be a bit longer, but there are such promising project on the way namely Buttercoin which I expect will bring the next huge price rise closer to the shorter end of your estimate - in about 6 months.
866  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange Now Open with Live Trading EUR, BTC, LTC on: September 11, 2013, 03:06:48 PM

Will you consider adding a BTC/PPC trading pair?  Also in Safari for me the site doesn't work at all.

It's Safari 5.1.9 on my Macbook running 10.6.8.  It looses is formatting and turns into a page with links and the latest prices and text etc running in a single column on the left, I'm assuming its supposed to have a nice design! Hope that helps Smiley

I understand about PPC, but I do think it being a proof-of-stake coin it's a worthy alternative coin to Bitcoin that deserves a place on the exchange.

868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Alt Coin you like best on: September 07, 2013, 07:54:07 AM
PPC, because it offers useful innovation.  Instead of coins only being made from mining, coins are also made by every holder of PPC who earns a very small amount of interest on their coins.  This saves electricity by having far less miners, which is environmentally friendly.  It's simple, and a worthy challenger to Bitcoin, more so than any of the other alts.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin to Gox on 10th Sept... Truth or just a rumor? on: September 06, 2013, 11:15:37 AM
Seeing as they haven't even upgraded their trading engine yet and Mark Karpeles said on twitter said they'll be adding "something else" after the upgrade before adding LTC there's no way they will be adding it on September 10th.

It's quite simple really, instead of new coins only coming from mining, which uses a lot of computing power, holders of PPC earn a very small amount of interest for holding coins over a period of time.  This this is environmentally friendly because it saves electricity which tens of thousands of computes would be using for mining.  An elegant solution to a complex problem.

I'm surprised PPC isn't the coin everyone is hounding Mtgox to add, seeing as it offers far more innovation than litecoin.

No sooner than 5 years, but I do think it will get there.

877  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] bitcoinspeculation.com for sale on: September 02, 2013, 03:53:54 PM
Just letting everyone know I'm now willing to sell bitcoinspeculation.com for just 0.6btc!

PM me Smiley

You started the bid at 0.1 and nobody bid it. So what makes you think that you can sell it for 0.6. I'll take it for 0.2.

Ok deal.  I've PMd you.
878  Economy / Services / Re: I'll send you 0.01BTC if you vote for me in a contest! on: September 02, 2013, 02:59:14 PM
I could make at least 20 votes from different people easily, but I don't like the treatment.

Sorry if I seem rude, I just need to take precautions.  I can payout for multiple votes as long as they are from real people, but it's difficult to verify who is 'real'.  If they come from facebook accounts that look legit I can allow it or if you have any other ideas of what they can send me to prove they aren't you I'm all ears.  I do need more votes urgently!

Also Bitcointalk accounts that were created after August 19th (date this thread was created) I've been ignoring as they could easily be the same people signing up again.

MORE VOTERS WANTED - 24 hours left, PM me if you haven't voted yet!!!
880  Economy / Auctions / Re: HOUSE IN GERMANY FOR 1BTC NO RESERVE. on: September 01, 2013, 04:35:09 PM
If you could post pictures of the inside of the building, and explain a bit more about the state of the building I could be interested.

I'm assuming it is structurally safe to live in?  I see there's a chimney, does it have a functioning fireplace?  Does it have any insulation?  Are the water pipes +taps ok? (will need re-connecting I presume).
