What in the world is this thread all about? Are you saying the users who have posted in that link of yours are psychopaths? I just scrolled two to three names and those are legendary members and Frank been one of the most active member, have always seen his post on this forum, so help us all out here what are you crying for? If you had put some outside link saying segwit is bad, or Bitcoins can dissappear if transacted after 30th July to 1st August I would say makes sense there is quite insecurity. But this is completely off topic.
8642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 16, 2017, 04:56:01 AM
Sri Lanka is playing well and am back on gambling after a small vacation. Looks like it is a crucial match for Indian women against the New Zealand. Hopefully India will win this match and move on to semis. My bets are on India today.

It is a knock out game for both India and New Zealand. India started extremely well in this tournament but have stumbled against stronger opponents. New Zealand have got both Indian openers out within the first 10 overs and will look to contain India.

Harmanpreet and Mithali both holding their ground and played responsibly. It's ok to keep 4+ run rate in women's cricket, lost 2 more wickets in another short time. Mithali has to play strong now to keep this pace.

India comprehensively outplayed New Zealand. 265 was a good score, but their bowling was even better. Their win by 186 runs is India's biggest victory in the World Cup. And it has come against a strong team, not any minnows.

This win will surely boost India confidence level to enter next knock out stage. Yesterday was Indian bowling was superb and most of the NZ top batting line up was lost within 60 runs. I didn't expect this kind of performance from NZ team but as we all know anything can happen in this cricket. Now slowly India is moving up in the points table.

I don't think India has much chance to move on to the finals as their semi final match is against Australia. They're mighty and in form, on the other side England is facing South Africa. So I think it's quite clear. It'll be England vs Australia for the trophy.
As mentioned England and Australia were the strongest team to make their entry into the final compared to the four teams that got qualified for the semi final. India seems playing good looking at the quarter final, so we cannot under estimate india. Sometimes a strong fighting could lead to the victory of India against Australia.

I feel it shall be team Australia that shall be winning it, they are not only absolutely stunning on the field and off field, there is no doubt in my mind that they shall be the winners. England was defeated by team India, but post that England has been a different team altogether, India is a mixed team, on their day, they can end the match but if they don't click, it doesn't go good. So let's hope for a exciting semi and finals and money making opportunities.

Paris Saint-Germain has officially signed with Brazil's Daniel Alves for 7 million euros a year for two seasons.

What Daniel Alves has done is hurt Pep Guardiola and the fans of Manchester City, let alone his revelation that says "I came here to become champions". The statement as if Daniel Alves did not believe that Pep Guardiola could provide something great for manchester city.
It is really not a matter of being champions thats why he moved, Its all about the money, PSG offered more money and he decided to leave and thats all there is to it, Dani Alves is undoubtedly the Judas Iscariot of modern day soccer.

Hurt Man City fans really? He's not 21 or 26, it's a logical decision for him to make a move with one step on his retirement. I don't think so he has hurt any fan, he never told publically he wanted to join city, it was pep who believed he would come, and I don't believe it's truth, Pep must have not put much effort in it. Bigger question now is where will Matic land, I hope Manchester United but now Arsenal and Juventus also linked.
8644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Centralized! on: July 15, 2017, 11:53:05 AM
Yes, I do not believe it is decentralized. Bitcoin's anarchist days are long gone.
I used to believe that Bitcoin was the gold of the modern age. That is to say, gold is seen today as a means of storing wealth, not as a means of shopping together with the invention of money; Both by people and by central banks.
In modern times, I thought that bitcoin, a digital value based on hash power, could be seen as a means of storing wealth.

But,
A thought: the gold is a certain element in the periodic table. Throughout the ages, people have tried to make gold with alchemy, though technology has not progressed so far. The only way to get gold is mining.

Bitcoin is not. As a result, it continues to be developed by a software and core team. So after they come out, they can say that bitcoin is changed from now on. Hard fork, soft fork, segwit 1,2,3,4,5 can do everything. The bitcoin in your hand can also be split into 10 forks. Contrary to gold, they can give bitcoin any shape as they wish. Powerful states and corporations, rich people, deep powers, who can control and manipulate the world by affecting the world as if they are asking the developers of the bitch.

Bitcoin core is not in one place, but I seem to hear you say it is scattered. After all, who is more likely to have the power of mining and bitcoin if he can not afford it?

Is Bitcoin a decentralized system? On the contrary, it is necessary to think about what will evolve as a central system in which your wealth is governed.

I can understand the frustration and you won't be alone to echo such sentiments, the problem is there is a vast amount of rumors about August 1st, that now no one really understands or like I say have gone beyond the stage where they want to understand. I yet believe come August 1st Bitcoin will be decentralized, let's hope they find a favorable solution.
8645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cause of Bitcoin Drop (7/14/2017) on: July 15, 2017, 11:44:35 AM
I see a sharp drop on bitcoin and not only btc but also other alt coins including eth, xrp, ltc, xmr
What cause bitcoin drop now?
or should I say the sudden coin drop of all.
Can anyone share some news?

Should I buy now?
It's pretty low already or wait for a while.

thanks guys.

Its normal nothing really to worry about. If you are planning to buy this would be the perfect time, each time it drops buy little and little. The reason is very obvious people are confused and sacred of August 1st.they just don't know what's going to happen and they are running here and there and selling it in panic, that has led to more supply than demand and that's why the fall. Till august 1st the fall will continue, then Boom Boom rise.
8646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin finally legal in India on: July 15, 2017, 10:46:50 AM
"Suddenly, Bitcoin to Be Officially Legal in India"
posted Jule 20, 2017
https://cointelegraph.com/news/suddenly-bitcoin-to-be-officially-legal-in-india

Bitcoin exchanges in India have been able to operate but they have been self-regulating using strict Know Your Customer and Anti Money Laundering measures (https://veratad.com/solutions/identity-verification/) in place. These areas will now fall under government regulation.

Funny side note--a member of the parliament in India likened Bitcoin to a Ponzi scheme as recently as March of this year. Pretty wild.
"In a letter to the Finance Ministry and the Reserve Bank of India, Somaiya explained that Bitcoin is a pyramid Ponzi-type scheme. However, Somaiya was criticized for his inability to understand the structural and fundamental difference between a Ponzi scheme and Bitcoin."

I think this topic was posted before and the link says it will be legal and the title says it's already legal, we'll it's good to see another Asian country taking a postive step and getting Bitcoins on the board but question is how to do they intent to do it. This is a problematic issue for a vast country for India, I do hope this news arrests the slide of Bitcoin price, it's surging down madly, wish this news acts as a catalyst and saves it. But as for my talk with Indian friends no legal Bitcoins yet.

8649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2017 Football Summer Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 14, 2017, 11:19:12 AM
Dani Alves is officially a new Psg player!

July 14 closes the transfermarket in China.
Let's see if in the next two days some top players will go to China

Man City missed out huge on the Alves move to PSG.  They're in dire need of fullbacks.  Any news of Kyle Walker?  Things have died down in the media with his supposedly 'move' to City.  Looks like it will be another problematic campaign for Pep.  On the other side of town, United is getting their way in this transfer window.  There are article then even Eric Dier wants a move to Old Trafford.  Hmph.
I dont think Eric Dier is moving anywhere. Thats just a really poor rumour. Kyle Walker could be Man City's main targets again since they sold 2 decent right backs this summer. Being a Spurs fan, I dont mind seeing him move to Man City as long as we get 60 mil for him(best right back in the country and an English one too). or 45 mil with Iheanacho joining Spurs. We just ahve to wait and see. All that I've understood so far is that Spurs are no pushovers anymore and wont budge to the Big and Rich clubs now.

It could be but they way Man United is rolling this transfer window, anything is possible.  They got Lukaku from the clutches of Chelsea didn't they?  Wink

Now that it's obvious Mourinho won't be getting Matic because of that, they're setting their sites somewhere else.  Bakayoko went to Chelsea, so next target is Dier, who is 'dying to join United'.  They sign him, they would be the favorites to win the league.

Bakayoko is Chelsea bound his tweet did stump me for a while, when he tweets from Manchester United and then later from London. If Chelsea can land a striker that would again make them a favorite. Manchester United need a central midfielder and a player like Dier already experienced with Premier League will be a glorious assect, and add a winger I think they will set fire and if they can add morata to, it will be amazing. The transfer window is really killing it now.
8650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 14, 2017, 11:12:32 AM
It looks like Man United will have the best squad and could win the league by the way they're running hot in this transfer window.  I read an article that Eric Dier wants a move to Old Trafford.  If that happens, I can see Mourinho laughing already.  He knows he got this.

Eric Dier is crap, if Man Utd want a Spurs player they should sign Dele Alli or Kane. Based on transfers so far & the current squads I think Man City will be favourites to become champions. Just my opinion thpugh.

Dier is crap since when? As for the record Manchester United are searching for a central midfielder to relieve Carrick and get the best out of Pogba. They yet need a Winger and Central Midfielder, I wish they buy a Rb and Lb to. City are buying defenders which clearly show they are going to defend to win, Chelsea if they get Bakayoko will have a crazy midfield but without a striker they will struggle. Tottenham has been silent so far and Everton has brought 6 players already and if they sell Barkley, then more additions. So it's a tough fight.

I was a little bit of trouble getting my bitcoin, karna is still new, please help master Smiley

How about enrolling for a good class that teaches, you to write in English. Secondly if you are asking do you need capital for investing in Bitcoins, then yes and no. Yes cause that's one way of getting your coins. No cause there are various way you can earn it for free like join signature campaign out here, sell some services or see which service you can take, go in give away competition so many ways. But this is my assumption you want to know this.
8652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the Most Powerful Computer on Earth Hack Bitcoin? on: July 13, 2017, 12:01:13 PM
Let me avoid the technical aspects to make things easy for all readers.

So someone said that America's NSA has this great computer(quantum computer) that could easily hack Bitcoin private keys. I really doubt his claim but I know for sure that certain computers  like the most powerful Super Computers are within the reach of some of this Intelligence organizations.
Do you think such computers can crack any security codes put in place to make Bitcoin very secure?

No! It's as simple as that. Firstly the Super Computer was not built yesterday, it's been there since a long time now, and if it could not attack it in its inception days, then it cannot do so now, that it's grown even stronger and better. The technology may be hacked, but Bitcoins never. Have you ever heard of them being hacked, I don't think I have heard so far or else no one would ever use them.
8653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: August 1 on: July 13, 2017, 11:23:47 AM
August 1 is approaching

Bitcoin will split

I transferred all my Bitcoin to Monero for the upcoming rise, then back to BTC in October

So if I am getting it correct, just cause Bitcoins may and I am not even sure it will spilt you decided to shift out of Bitcoins for a alt? Instead you could just have put your money in electrum, sit back and forget about Bitcoins spilt or no split. This way you yet have your coins and how are you sure that monore shall rise, and that bitcoin may or may be close to where you sold them. It's a very risky move, in case you haven't done, just shift to electrum and sit tight.
8654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Surprised but Secured. on: July 13, 2017, 11:00:51 AM
Ever since the August 1st event details broke out, I had decided to shift my coins from coinbase.com to electrum, but then seeing that coins were getting stuck I decided not to, and today when I did it got confirmed in matter of hours, maybe even minutes. I am surprised cause normally you do hear of it being stuck but it happened quick and secured that now my coins are safe on electrum,  come what may on August 1st for those of you yet not decided better act before it's to late. Also now cause confirmation are happening quick good luck.
8655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Elitists Ignoring the 3rd world on: July 13, 2017, 04:11:01 AM
People here keep ignoring the fact that most users come from the 2nd or 3rd word, where the income is not that good as some arrogant 1st worlders like to believe.

I kind of thought at first that all these evangelists really want the best for Bitcoin users, how they talk about the "saving of the 3rd world", but nowadays it looks like just another one of those empty slogans, some marketing gimmick just to pool wool over your eyes while the bullshit continues, that kind of thing.

According to the ILO, the global average monthly wage is 1700$.

The income inequality factor is about 80%, so 80% of the world earns less than this.

Yet you idiots complain about the block size, and that means 30-40$ fees now. You guys are totally insane if you think there will be any mass adoption with these kinds of levels.

Wake up dreamers! Reality will punch ya in the face. I would earn 40$ net income / week at a shitty daily job. Too bad I am unemployed so I can't even earn that.

How the fuck do you think Bitcoin will reach any mass adoption with this lunatic levels of fees? I get that you guys are arrogant 1st worlders sitting in your cozy 500 square meter homes with your jacuzzi and mercedes cars in your garage complaining about this or that.

But the truth is simple, most people are poor, including myself, so we are not going to use a currency that is so elitist that it demand people to hand over 1 week worth of pay to some arrogant miner sitting at the other half of the world drinking sweet coffee.

Either fix the fee problem, or say bye bye to Bitcoin.

Isn't it so convenient that you have voiced your frustration in the guile of the second and third world? Look op the fees are not in our hands, those are the miners fees whether you like it or not, there actually nothing one can do about it, better to live with it or if you want to quit Bitcoins fine do it, less negative people that's better. Bitcoin did not promise you anything or constant money and you are supposed to earn from a job or something so focus on that. Oh by the way Asian countries have adopted Bitcoins despite the fees.

8657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 12, 2017, 03:55:38 AM
Oh unbelievable Zimbabwe was won the series at Sri Lanka home, and all Zimbabwe players  played well I think  Sri Lanka not expecting this kind of things from Zimbabwe.

It's really unbelievable. Not able to conclude whether Sri Lanka played worse or Zimbabwe played well..!!
Masakadza and Sikandar Raza played really well. It's a great news for Zimbabwe actually.
Truly a high performance from Zimbabwe. It was pretty unbelievable, but don't amazed so much because it's called cricket. Credit goes to Zimbabwe. SL could not perform well as they deserve. So, waiting more amazed as we've got a Test match starting on July 14.

That was a great performance by Zimbabwe to win a series away from home, I agree with you as I'm not really shocked as Sri Lanka were not performing good enough to win this series but I think it will be a different story in the test series as I think Sri Lanka is a lot better team in tests then ODI's.

Sri Lanka have things to worry about. The distance between them and West Indies in the ODI ranking is closing.
The number 9th team will have to go through a qualifier to play in the World Cup. That could be humiliating for Sri Lanka.

The young Srilankan team is struggling since 2015. With their best players retiring and not getting young players to replace them.
The Srilankans are in the same situation as Australia few years back. Hope they would have a quick comeback like the Australians.
All the experienced players of SL retired in the same year ( between 2014-2015 ) and this affected the team very badly because except Mathews there is no real experienced players to guide the team .
This is worst ever performance by Sri Lanka they lost ODI home series against Zimbabwe  now going for only test Mathews already leave captaincy now lest see what is coming from Sri Lankan Selection committee which is working under Legend Jayasuria  they have very short time as India is also coming for very long and complete series

I don't understand how these players are performing because they are playing at home ground and Zimbabwe is not such a strong team currently. It looks like all internal issues give these kinds of results and who ever bet on these matches will lose a lot of money. That's why I always say that we can't guess the outcome just based on the past performance of the teams.

Yes Sri Lanka was favorite for this series so people who have gambled on Sri Lanka would be crying now and I am sure that this matches has been fixed and many people say that its easy to gamble on cricket but look at this series there is no guarantee of winning in any type of gambling.

Well normally in this kind of series you should always put your money on the underdog say you don't even need to put a high amount, just aI smalll amount and then if you win you win huge, when Zimbabwe won the earlier match I was planning to put money on them in the next, but alas lost track of time and forgot when it was, but this is a very important lesson for all of us gambling, sometimes playing on weaker teams can also make you rich.
8658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we moving towards the Global Crypto Currency Depression? on: July 12, 2017, 03:39:10 AM
As per coinmarketcap website, we have 970 crypto currencies available at this point of time. If we sort the list by clicking on Change (24h) column, I can see that price of only 13 coins were increased in last 24 hours. Rest all coins are facing the depreciation.

Even bitcoin price is standing at 2359 USD at this point. Are we moving towards a Global Crypto Currency Depression? What's causing this massive depreciation?

Alts have never really mattered to me they never will, they are alts and they are bound to go down, as far as Bitcoins is concerned, it's a small fall, like I would have worried if it fell to say 1500$ but it hasn't, and like they say every fall is a buying opportunity, so acculumate and once this August 1st drama is all but over, we shall move on from this for good. Till then some corrections are bound to happen so that's okay, just keep buying at every fall.
8659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you scared to hold until August 1? on: July 11, 2017, 01:25:45 PM

We know what will happen with the said date but are you willing to take a risk to hold your Bitcoins or maybe some Altcoins. We are in the 'Red days' for how many weeks now and I think it is because of too many people is scared in what will be the results of Segwit on August 1.

Some of my thoughts in how most of us think.

*I will sell my Bitcoins first then buyback after august 1*

*I will sell my Altcoins because it is nowhere to going up anymore*

Honestly a few days back I was bit paranoid about august 1st but now few days I don't really like to be worried about this anymore it's as simple nothing is going to happen, the hype is over and I would say just hold your coins, do not and I repeat don't use Alt coins, not good at all. Just keep your coins safe with a private key, thats all and if it falls then buy it again. That's all I can suggest you to do.
8660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hedge, Hodl or Sell Bitcoins? on: July 11, 2017, 06:00:32 AM
With the upcoming segwit drama events that can possibly split bitcoin shall I:

- Hedge bitcoin against Altcoins? If so which altcoins shall I choose?

- Hodl bitcoin?

- Sell bitcoin for Fiat?

I see currently red market for altcoins which is not good. Is this caused by bitcoin price going down or has the altcoin market bubble been popped? If it has been been popped then hedging bitcoin is not a correct choice right? Or will the upcoming bitcoin segwit drama events cause another altcoin bubble?

First of all change the title word hold, then do as the word says just hold your coins, nothing shall happen to them, as far the alts are concerned no clue why they are down or in other words don't really care about them, I have always said to people to stay away from them. As for Bitcoin spilt the current environment says there would be no spilt as of such, so that's a wait and watch event. Then again the prices of Bitcoin are volatile, but I am sure they will bounce up very soon.
