Hmm... I didn't see a1phanumrc say anything about basements.

Methinks thou dost protest too much. Anything you want to get off your chest?  *laugh*

I was running on no sleep yesterday.  I am not proud of things I might say on such days.
I saw basement yesterday, not today.  Weird.

This, my friends, is why shrooms are bad for you!

I can't cash out my WDC.
What am I doing wrong?

So far I did that:
  • Saved my address
  • Press "cash out"

Based on a previous post, my understanding is that the script takes a little while to process the cash out. It won't show up immediately either as it's updated every 15m(?) or so.

Prime Dice is giving away 0.001-0.003 BTC in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=217216.0 Probably one of the most generous offer available for newbies

I recommend them as well. They do pay, Smiley.

No buckets seem to have fallen for around 16 hours now. Is this just due to the lack of btc being pumped into the buckets?

Yes. The buckets only fall when there is enough to get them activated. After this it waits for the next BTC block for generating which bucket should drop.

Can i suggest
[DVC] DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated by Aegis
signed. thats a much better topic name than the one being used now...
Or even take out the Aegis name and put  moderated. I don't think most people care who is moderating it; it's an "official" thread.
that works well too, when i first saw it, it remembered me of the Age of Empires 2 cheat "aegis" and was like, wtf? Grin

lol, in the sense of the coins it looks like it could be a fork or something. Just kind of out of place.

3. For example, I'm using Debian wtih Gnash (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnash) but not Adobe Flash, and I can watch Youtube videos. But not videos on other sites. Apparently most flash video players use some feature which is specific to Adobe Flash and are not compatible with Gnash. However, it is only a problem with player (i.e. a thing which shows buttons and whatnot), not a problem with video format itself.
4. FWIW Gnash uses ffmpeg/avcodec.

EDIT: Oh, it isn't video, it is Flash animation. I've downloaded it and it seems to be work fine with Gnash, so it is open source enough, I guess.

Okay so maybe the problem is the browsers, they claim a plugin is needed to view flash, and they aren't offering any free open source flash viewing tool they just send me to macromedia or adobe or whoever and they say sorry we are not going to be supporting Linux.

So maybe the free open source browser folks just don't know yet that there is a free open source flash viewer they can point people to, or they have not plugged it in yet because so far the commerical/propriery one has not actually stopped support yet they are just saying they are going to.

For youtube I often used to be told by the browser it simply cannot find any plugin at all that can view whatever it was that it thought i needed a plugin to view. I haven't actually run into that lately for some reason but maybe mostly because I got used to not bothering to click on links to youtube.

-MarkM-

Isn't youtube using html5 video too?

I don't think so. Last month I did a reformat and had to install flash to view videos again. Unless they changed it since then.

Am i not allowed to start mining Terracoin if Litecoin in the middle of the header on the page?

I have been trying everything to connect to stratum+tcp://multipool.in:3333 to mine TRC but i cant. I am using the correct username and password too.

The one listed in the middle is just what the port 7777 one is using (the switcher). The rest are separate.

What issue are you getting/what error?
8710  Other / Meta / Re: Is This Forum Degenerating? on: June 14, 2013, 11:09:17 AM
I was talking to a fellow bitcoiner about this forum IRL and he said he thought it was "degenerating"  Grin

I disagree. I find it's getting better.

Who's right?
yes it is but thats not the fault of the forum nor the mods, its the fault of the degeneration of humans

I don't believe humans are getting "worse," just that with the advent of "anonymity" and the instant ability to communicate, it has become more apparent.
8711  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WIN FREE BTC - LIFT's Bitcoin Lottery 2.0 - we need your feedback on: June 14, 2013, 11:08:22 AM
our last payout got included in an orphaned block!

tx: https://blockchain.info/tx/43b91b67ad3b6bcf6d9579ff51b174450baea519001fad0889eaab0b641966a5

block: https://blockchain.info/block-index/393406

as a result the last payout is still "unconfirmed" despite the generous tx-fees.

we are very sorry for the inconvenience! we expect it may be up to another 12hrs before the transaction confirms.

When it gets in an orphaned block, does the chain just keep trying to put it in another one or something?
8712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 4.15 Gh/s on: June 14, 2013, 11:07:16 AM
Guys, let him be...

If he said his electricity cost is cheap and located in a server room ( and knowing and able to access to server room as well), but don't know how to post a picture, you will start to wonder about HIS statement.

IF a newbie like me don't know how to post a picture, then it's understandable.

I thought it was pretty apparent but just in case: it's just light teasing and the OP didn't seem to upset about it so I'm guessing he figured it out too. I get worse than that at work every day

(To be honest I'd love to have electricity at $0.05.kWh.  I'm paying several times that. City living!)

Last month ours was 0.07! Close enough, :p.

I think we're also on like a sliding scale though, where the more we use the more per kw it costs. Not quite sure why that is... assume it has to do with the power company having to buy from the actual city when it can't fulfill needs or something.
8713  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinAd - Free Coins every hour on: June 14, 2013, 11:04:46 AM
Coinads refferal system any good?

It only pays based on referrals completing offers, but the offer system has been shut down. Effectively there is no referral system now.
8714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where should I invest my BTC on: June 14, 2013, 11:03:44 AM
Those of you with havelock... have you been doing alright with them? I just looked over their financials and they are losing more and more every quarter. They're down to a quarter (no pun intended) of where they were last year.

Havelock has done a couple of 10:1 stock splits. That's why the price is "down". The actual price is way up. I remember when Havelock shares were less than 10 BTC each. Then, they rose to over ten, about 15 BTC or so, and then they did a 10:1 split down to 1.5 BTC. Then, they rose to about 3 BTC each, and they did another 10:1 split down to 0.3 BTC apiece.

To make a long story short, If you had bought shares when Havelock first started, you would have more than tripled your BTC in about a year. I think that the only stock on Havelock that's down is SDICE. ASICM, HIM, and VTX are all way up. Havelock Investments is the Berkshire Hathaway of Bitcoin investing.

Oh wow. I wasn't aware of the splits either. Is there any information that helps give a timeline of these things?
8715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase account hacked? Has this happened to anyone? on: June 14, 2013, 11:02:47 AM
I feel you! If it makes you feel any better, I've sent multiple tickets to CB to better understand policies and such, and they have been awesome at explaining things thoroughly and being patient with me.

Right on, thank you. I am really happy to be a part of the community here, I can't thank everyone enough for the help and support. That news definitely puts me at ease a bit more, I have no doubt they'll be able to get to the bottom of this.

No problem. I hope everything gets resolved with your issue, Smiley.

I'm scared to go to these faucet in fear of viruses. Has anyone done these without infecting their computer?

All the sites in this list below are verified and checked everyday by not only me but very many people who follow the thread:

It is best to avoid the lists one finds on other websites where there are no moderators or anyone else ( besides the site owner, who may be out to scam you ) checking that the links are legit.

Thanks for the support! That is a huge difference between this rotator and a lot of other sites; I actively monitor things when I'm around. I've also been very responsive to each PM/email I get, to lock down issues ASAP if they arise, Smiley.
8719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Aegis - DevCoin on: June 14, 2013, 05:10:07 AM
As we have a new thread I would like to suggest that we keep it civil (as we do) even when silly ol' trolls come along.

Also if the Devcoiners could not reply to other threads that silly ol' trolls are on, they won't rise and get read by others.

Obviously some one is threatened by Devcoin or wants to replace it. Seeing as how the last silly ol' troll had advertising saying he'd promote new coins, maybe he was hired. Whatever. I think we should take it as a compliment that Devcoin and Devtome have something unique, as all can contribute and all can benefit.

I do agree with being civil.

However, it seemed more like a attack on Fin Shaggy, though both reasons seem valid. He was talking about DevCoin and competition, so that's also valid.

People are against finshaggy due to the whole "bitcoin town" idea. Unrelated to DVC.

Posting here so I can watch the thread!
8720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: June 14, 2013, 05:07:21 AM
1) Can we have a client that changes hardware depending on the necessary algorithm?
           Device profile asic for sha-256
           Device profile gpu for scrypt+sha-256

I think someone would have to create that on their own, unless flounder (or someone else) created an app that would interface with the server and automatically close/launch the miner with the appropriate flags when it goes from scrypt to sha-256 coins.
