Nets vs Bucks is nearly upon us. KD vs Giannis. I think the Nets while lacking the team chemistry of the Bucks will still be able to easily win this series. They just have too much talent. I think the Bucks probably have the best shot at stopping them though. After this series it should be smooth sailing for the Nets now that the Lakers are off the board…

I still don’t understand how or why minted seats are treated differently than online seats

In that case, we are lucky you were not the one doing this giveaway. If you don’t understand, please respect that a wide majority of voters that do understand agreed this was the best way to do it.

I’m quite happy that everything went flawlessly with the lottery, the coins are all engraved and ready to go, and I’ve gotten quite a bit of positive feedback. Now to get these beauties in the hands of winners. Make sure to check your online account and claim your prizes!

Clippers beat the Mavs to force a game 7. It looks like this year it might be the Clippers that advance and the Lakers that are to blame for no playoff matchup of LA teams. Maybe next year… I’m looking forward to seeing Luka in a game 7. It’s going to be a battle out there on Sunday. First we get a look at the Nets vs Bucks on Saturday. That should be a great series.
8724  Economy / Reputation / My 10 Year Bitcointalk Anniversary on: June 05, 2021, 12:23:22 AM
I made it!  Ten years since I stumbled onto this site a curious newbie.  The price of Bitcoin went from $6 to $30 in the first week and back to $15 the second.  My first introduction to Bitcoin.  This would set the stage for a tumultuous decade of rapid adoption that would lead to unmatched volatility on the road to becoming one of the greatest value growth stories in the history of mankind.  The promises of freedom and changing the world alongside the invention of the blockchain were too enticing to resist wanting to be a part of and help out however possible.  Bitcointalk.org was the obvious first step to take on my Bitcoin journey and to this day I would still recommend this site as one of the best resources to learn about Bitcoin.  There are so many users here so passionate about this place, and while we don't always see eye to eye, I think it is important to remember that we share an amazing interest in something really special together.

So what does a guy do on his 10 year bitcointalk.org anniversary you ask?  Well, I spent a great deal of time this week engraving 100 silver coins for a giveaway (link) to members of a Bitcoin organization I am a part of.  These coins totaled over $14K worth of inventory from our online shop (link).  It was an early dream of mine to mint my own silver coin.  Being able to now give away silver creations I am so proud of that utilize the blockchain in an innovative way is literally a dream come true.  Thank you to anyone who has ever supported the people and organizations dedicated to advancing Bitcoin adoption and use cases.  It is because of you that these last ten years have been so rewarding.

How will it be distributed for those with minted seats winners , I understand that the coins will be auctioned but I would like to know where ..? or how will we know how will be the distribution thanks.

I'm planning to auction the coins on this site.  Not sure exactly when yet, but it will be soon.  I'll then take all the BTC raised and send it to nonnakip, who will distribute it to the Minted Seat addresses.  I assume this will trigger some payouts as Minted Seats close to their threshold are pushed over, but for many they will be able to see the distribution amount reflected in their coin's total here: https://nastyfans.org/mint.json - as well as I'm sure we'll get an update from nonnakip about the amounts distributed.

I have been busy this week...  Here are the spoils.  All 100 Minted Seat coins ready to go out to the winners!

Block 686117 is mined and lottery winners are known. You sign in to nastyfans to see if you are a winner.

The minted seat collective group won 13 1oz minted seat coins. OgNasty will auction these coins and proceeds will distribute equal to all minted seats. (1000 seat coins are not part of minted seat collective.)

If you have winning online seats you must claim your prize. If you have winning online seats you see a button to do claim. For claim you must write full postal address for OgNasty to send your prize.

All prizes not claimed by 4 July are auctioned by OgNasty and proceeds donated to nastyfans.

Verify winning tickets with:

Code:
wget https://nastyfans.org/download/lottery_draw_3.c

gcc lottery_draw_3.c -olottery_draw_3

bitcoin-cli getblock $(bitcoin-cli getblockhash 686117) | grep -A 400 '"tx":' | ./lottery_draw_3

Log in at nastyfans.org to see if any of your online seats were winners.  Get your mailing info sent in and I can start shipping these bad boys out.  Would love to see some pics when they start arriving in mailboxes!  Thanks to those who participated.  It's always great to have support and I'd love to keep finding new ways to give back.  I can't wait to hear the feedback once this is all behind us and all the coins are out the door.  If you didn't win, keep your eye out for auctions as I'll need to sell the coins won by Minted Seats to provide a special donation for all Minted Seats and plan to do so on this forum.  I hope to have some pics of this massive Minted Seat haul soon.  Back to the engraver...
8727  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Where to find partners/investors? on: June 04, 2021, 04:13:33 AM
You should look at how Binance was able to create funding by offering their own token that was utilized by their service.  It's a pretty genius idea that made the founders hundreds of millions of dollars.  After the ICO wasteland that has been left behind back in 2016-2017, it would be pretty hard to find anyone willing to participate these days.  At the very least you would need a working product to show and a model to profitability.  Otherwise people will just assume that your project is a scam even if it is legitimate and your intentions are good.
8728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: June 04, 2021, 03:15:15 AM
1.09 is insanely good odds.  Paul won't even get a power punch on flyod all fight.  If professional boxers couldn't touch flyod how in the world do people think Paul would and even worse win.  I'd even take 1.01 odds.  $1 on $100 is better than nothing.  This is the most sure fight I've ever seen...
Floyd will do the same thing which is punching and running like he did to almost all his fights which technically counts as evasion. This is a sure fight but it isn't a title fight so no point being too fundamentalist on it. It's an exhibition match so better just enjoy the show and don't take it seriously.

I swear I’ll never watch another Floyd Mayweather fight every time because of his style of running. I always hope this time will be different and he’ll go for the KO. We’ll see…

Connor McGregor got a clean uppercut on Floyd. It isn’t out of the realm of possibility that Logan Paul could do the same. Logan is much bigger than Connor and has been exclusively training to throw punches, so he might have the knockout power Connor didn’t. I think that’s everyone’s hope anyway.
8729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 04, 2021, 03:06:58 AM
The Lakers look terrible. I feel like this game is over five minutes into it. With Anthony Davis out for the rest of the game it doesn’t look good for the defending champions. I feel bad for LeBron James, it looks like his teammates don’t even want to be out on the floor right now. I think this game might be over already as you can see the Lakers have been mentally destroyed. The rest of this game is going to be hard to watch I have a feeling. Gotta give credit to the Suns. They came out on fire.

It’s still early in the first quarter so anything can happen. I’d be surprised if this isn’t a blowout from the body language I’m seeing already though.

I can't say I fully understand how the DT list is picked each cycle, but it's damn clear to me that it ain't what it used to be.

The amount of scrutiny that went into adding users to the DT network years ago was something many of us didn't take lightly.  The complaints were often that users felt they should be in DT, regardless of how much real world interaction they had with others or how deserving they were, etc.  Others felt that they were wrongly rated as non-trustworthy because of their actions towards individuals in DT.  It wasn't something any of us took lightly.  Friendships were strained, people had hurt feelings, organizations were attacked, lies were spread, even to this day there are users who have trusted me with thousands of dollars of their money and would do so again, but won't leave me a positive rating out of spite that I took my job seriously and didn't add whoever they demanded to my network.  It was foolish to think that doling out merit, largely to users with little to no real world interaction with users here, could possibly result in somehow establishing a more accurate trust network.  It was a cop out to skirt responsibility and leave us original DT members who had been safeguarding the network to face the backlash by suddenly empowered nefarious users who were held out of the system because they didn't deserve to be in it in the first place.  All I can say is it's still early and the trust system is going to get a lot worse.  The only option at this point is to remove all negatives from the system and let people be judged by how many positives they have, not who kissed the most ass while playing politics.  I won't hold my breath...
8731  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "UFO sightings spark concern from more than just conspiracy theorists" on: June 03, 2021, 08:01:11 PM
I think the latest videos just show testing of new technology.  I'm sure the higher ups in the military are well aware of exactly what these objects are.  CEOs of military tech companies have been saying for years that they have technology that is far beyond anything we've seen and that their limitations are the costs of these technologies.  I have no doubt that we as a species are capable of building much more advanced things than we know about.  The problem is making these things cheap enough where it is feasible to create them, and perhaps even profitable.
8732  Other / Meta / Re: Help request - legendary user "slush" tagged as a scammer during forum hack on: June 03, 2021, 07:08:03 PM
- Anything that slush himself can do?

slush is a pretty prominent and important figure in Bitcoin's history given his implementation of pooled mining.  He stays at the forefront of mining pools with signaling and other innovations.  I have no doubt if slush cared whatsoever about this forum or his account, he could very easily contact theymos and get the help he needs.  slush isn't like the rest of us forum mortals.  He is a VIP no doubt.  If he can't get direct assistance from the Administration here, who can?

I would say maybe let slush worry about it.  If he cared at all, he wouldn't have negative feedback, believe me...
8733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: June 03, 2021, 06:52:02 PM
What's too good about it? I'm not sure the PPV numbers will be huge either. A lot of hardcore boxing fans won't be buying it so it'll be mostly Logan's fans bankrolling it I reckon. It's $50 USD in the states and over £15 on PPV here and I can't see many paying that considering it's going to be on at 4-5am in the morning. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a relative flop. Not something I'd pay for or even stay up for but it's the first thing I'll look for in the morning.

I'd pay for the chance to see either Floyd or Logan get knocked out.  I imagine more than fans of these two carrying this PPV, it will be those that hate them.  One thing is for sure, there isn't a lot of indifference for these two celebrities so I think it will be largely the "haters" that are fueling the PPV numbers.  I think it will definitely be a top 20 all time PPV draw, and possibly a top 5...  I guess we'll see, but I don't expect this to be a flop.  The entire town in buzzing from crypto already and there's plenty of money going around.  Every place with a TV in Florida and a view of the beach will probably be televising this and paying big fees to do so.
8734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 03, 2021, 06:46:54 PM
Lakers with their back to the wall seems like a good bet...  With no AD though and the Lakers playing terrible, could this be LeBron James' earliest exit from the playoffs ever?  The NBA has already scheduled game 7 on TNT (other series have their game 7 stated as "TBD") so it seems like at the very least the television folks believe the Lakers will win today...  Slip up in scheduling or the seeds of a conspiracy?  You be the judge.  In any event, I'll be watching tonight and looking forward to what I think will be one of the best games of the year so far.  Enjoy!
8735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 03, 2021, 09:15:10 AM
Kawhi shooting an air ball 3 in the corner? Damn, Playoff Rondo getting mad as hell.

I will get mad as well, the comparison of Kawhi to Lebron and to some extend to Kobe is not fair. Kawhi needs to prove more, and today's airball will be more remembered that the shots he made in 2019 against the Sixers.

Not over yet for the Lakers, I still think that there's some thing inside of Lebron that says they can win the next game and will be Lebron's another defining game 6 moments, and the number speaks for itself.

When I saw Kawhi headed towards the corner I thought we were going to see another fading away bouncing around the rim end of game miracle shot.  The airball was a bit of a surprise...  It seemed like Kawhi was looking for someone to blame and Rondo wasn't having it.  It looked pretty clear that Kawhi needed to give up the ball once the defense was all over him.  Nowadays the star player always has to take the last shot for some reason, so he did what was expected of him.  He was pretty much in a lose/lose position, which is probably why he was looking to put blame on the person who threw him the ball.
8736  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Reputable escrow without network fees? on: June 03, 2021, 06:16:53 AM
I have done a few escrows using USDT, and while the fees can be cheap (I paid $1 for my last transfer) you still have to pay escrow fees so I wouldn’t base the escrowed currency solely on transaction fees. Whether or not you want to be exposed to variance in cryptos is probably the larger concern. Just be careful using services like LBC, as they will happily allow you to accept reversible payment types where you can lose your funds once escrow is released.
8737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: June 03, 2021, 05:03:59 AM
Each day closer to this event I can't help but try and find reasons why it won't be held.  It's almost too good to be true.  I think the PPV numbers are going to be insane.  The videos as we get closer to the fight only make me want to believe Logan has a chance, but as long as he goes in there and throws some bombers I think we'll be happy with the show.

They can say no judges and no winner read, but we'll all know.  If there's one thing I can say confidently, it's that this fight won't leave us wondering who the winner was.  *knocks on wood
8738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 03, 2021, 05:01:47 AM
I mean the Knicks definitely overachiever this year but after the way they played this year I thought they would definitely throw up a fight in the first round.  Couldn't have been more wrong.  They looked completely lost out there, terrible 5 games even the one they won...guess there is next year.

Both teams shot terribly, but it looks like the Knicks shot a little worse and the Hawks rebounded a little better.  The Knicks had been relying heavily on Randle to win games this season and his 23 points tonight just wasn't enough to do it.  Barrett shot pretty terribly as well.  He's going to need to be much more efficient if he wants to have a career in the NBA.  Making the playoffs in itself was a massive step forward for the Knicks though.  If they can hold onto and develop their talent, I could see them picking up a decent free agent and being a top 5 team in the East.
8739  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] What is the best covid-19 conspiracy? on: June 03, 2021, 01:08:05 AM
If we're going on wacky conspiracies alone...  I would like to put forth that the virus was created as a trojan horse for mankind to take a vaccine in order to cleanse our society of viruses that could be harmful to aliens as they begin mass integrating with our society.  These aliens have beaten common colds and flus so long ago that their immune system is no longer strong enough to fight them.  As a result they would be unable to participate in our society without first leading humans to herd immunity against such potentially harmful viruses.  As a unisex alien species, they must also normalize the idea of non-binary sexes and sharing of public bathrooms.  Shocked
8740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone else find Michael Saylor a bit over-the-top? on: June 03, 2021, 01:03:35 AM
The only thing that bothers me about Michael Saylor is that he's using the deep pockets of himself and his friends to attach himself to Bitcoin in a way he hasn't earned.  He learned about BTC only a couple of years ago, which would make him a newbie by most of our standards, yet the guy is spearheading Mining cartels and having meetings with Elon Musk about Bitcoin's future...  It's crazy how having a lot of money can make you instantly important wherever you decide to throw it.  I'm glad he's using his platform to promote Bitcoin, it just seems like sometimes he's using Bitcoin to create a platform for himself.
