out of curiosity what is the longest the pool has gone between blocks?
8822  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: October 04, 2018, 05:16:07 PM
well we near  the 4 cent floor  which is the average power cost for the big boys.

It has happened before and when it did the diff dropped off for a while.

and here i am just trying to get the power company to give me the transformer i need but with looking at the upcoming difficulty levels - unless miners get more efficient, I might be upside down when I am ready to offer co-location services...
8823  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How about a solar power source for pop one price mining on: October 04, 2018, 03:50:55 PM
I  am trying to use solar presently - I have 31 panels each are 290 watts so this is a about a 10 kw system - mine is tied to electric so if solar is not sufficient the electricity kicks in and i have no battery - however, I find it barely produces enough to power one miner for the month... I am told it should average between 61 and 71 kw/h in generation per day, but its only producing on average of 46 kw/h per day. I have zero tree cover - the panels face east to west and I get sunlight from as early as 7am and generally past 8pm each day.  what am I doing wrong?
8824  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: October 04, 2018, 02:08:25 PM
I hope the S9 stays profitable for at least that long lol just starting to making ROI now lol

but in all seriousness it seems that with so many people jumping in on mining that the difficulty is raising faster than manufacturers can produce equipment that would prove profitable.

at least that is my opinion.
8825  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: TRIPLE-1, Inc. 株式会社 松島 KAMIKAZE 7nm SHA-256 ASIC on: October 04, 2018, 12:32:41 PM
Hopefully Triple-1's pricing will be reasonable...

that is my hope as well - lately the ASIC's prices almost ensure that ROI is never met unless you have almost zero electric cost.

Welcome aboard!
Well damn - that pushes me down to #47! Seems we picked up several other folks as well as I had been banging around the high 30's...
That settles it. Time for me to pick up 2x A921's to swap power slots with 3x A741's for an 'extra' 20 or so THs and fair bit less power use ta boot.

what were you at before? since I have joined I have dropped from 148 to 161 (yesterday) and now down to 172 as of this morning.
8827  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: TRIPLE-1, Inc. 株式会社 松島 KAMIKAZE 7nm SHA-256 ASIC on: October 04, 2018, 12:12:28 PM
It's been a while since I abandoned mining information and stop aiming this field as the difficulty increase significantly but the price goes down which barely give profits according to the electricity costs, but reading this topic makes me interested.
Honestly, not sure whether mining profitable or not these days, check this.
Eco spec machine: 14.5 TH/s, 750 W power consumption, $0.8 KWh, and 1% pool fee > the results is - $336 (minus), far away from profit.
I check coinwarz calculator but the result doesn't make sense.
However, some members really helping to look for more details, so this thread worth to watch over periodically.

who pays $.8 per kw/h?? mine is $.056 with fuel surcharge it is $.086 - still no where near what you stated.  That might be why your results are all negative.

I have been here about 2 week... got 100T/H on and going to put 45 more on next week .. if there is a block found lol

Any words of encouragement?

I have been here just around 8 days and we have found 5 blocks - finding this next one has been a challenge though. The only thing that sucks for me is ramping up. If I ever leave, I hope we find as many blocks in my last week instead of none lol

I just moved my 763.5TH to Kano today from Slush.

I see you at #19 on stats page!

awesome! though this is going to push me down another slot on the stats page and now I will need to get some more miners over here to compensate lol

The A921 is listed as 22TH/s and 1800W with the efficiency at 0.08 W/GH and it's $800 to $1000 depending on if you're in the US or not.  It's hard to believe someone could make the same chip more efficient but who knows.  The known in this equation is how reliable Avalon equipment has been.

agreed. only time will tell.

You should poke around the mining speculation board. Most of the nexgen equipment had been announced there and had discussions ongoing.

Some of the hardware has already been released you can find that gear in the hardware section

and yes, I have read over there. I only commented it here because if I can get one I will be pointing it to Kano's pool Smiley

I have a call with Gaku next week - I will see if I can get any additional information to add here.

Triple-1 is listing 2 miners,

first:

Hashrate : 14.5 TH / s ± 5% (* at the normal state)
Power Consumption : 750 W ± 5%
Power Efficiency : 0.052 W / GH ± 5%

second:

Hashrate : 33.0 TH / s ± 5% (* at the normal state)
Power Consumption : 2,000 W ± 5%
Power Efficiency : 0.061 W / GH ± 5%

And Bitmains (for comparison):

Hashrate : 14.5 TH / s ± 10%
Power Consumption :1,350 W ± 10%
Power Efficiency :0.093 W / GH ± 7%

so not half but close. Again - if their claims are right and as always - until proven, it will not be believed.

Well I'm test running an A921 7nm ... and it's not half the power of the previous models ...
It's a well known fact that 7nm wont give the sort of gain that company is stating.

And that is a Cannan miner right? they have been around for a bit. what are the specs? are they any more efficient than say Bitmain? I am still curious to see what Bitmain will claim as their 7nm specs.

No new company has ever come out with something twice as good as everyone else ... be wary of losing your money ... or they're overstating their miners to get people to buy them.

oh for sure - my hope is to test one and provide a review. If they do work - then to purchase. It is not that their miners are twice as good because they use the same tech - they are claiming twice as efficient due to using 7nm vs 16nm chips. But as you stated and to which I agree, that will need to be seen before it is believed.
8836  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~220PH] KanoPool kano.is 0.9% fee 4.8 of 10BTC giveaway 🐈 US,UK,JP,NYA,DE,SG on: October 03, 2018, 01:08:12 PM
I have a Skype call with the new ASIC company Triple-1 next week to discuss their new miners. If the units are really as efficient as they claim, their "eco" model produces the same hashrate as the Antminer S9J but with barely half the power consumption @ 750 watts. Their "hyper" model is 33 TH/s with 2,000 watts - hashrate close to 3 S9J's but with just a little over half the power consumption.

I am hoping the discussion goes well and that I can get in on early purchasing. I just hope their prices are not so ridiculous that it makes it more economical to stay with slower/less efficient machines due to increased ROI time frame of their miners.

And if/when I do get one of their miners, it will be coming here Smiley

I'm trying Fuzzy. I already have 1 block on the acclaim list (davewill2). Just recently retired the Avalon 741s and the last Ebit E9
and added two brand new Dragonmint T1s. I'm up to 94TH now. Oh yes, also overclocking my S9s at 15TH each with modded firmware
that has auto tuner configuration which surprisingly keeps the power consumption down. My goal this month is to get one more block on
the acclaim list.

would you share what you did with your S9's?

EDIT: I see above where you answered someone else with same question. thanks!

Yeah that info is listed in the first post here on the thread.

It's worth reading the first post Smiley if you don't keep up with the rest of the posts, since it includes some of the main details about the pool.

I did read it, there is a lot of info there and I missed it when someone quoted it again above, I was happy to see it as I read the post originally months ago.

Apple App (find on the Apple App Store):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1344360.0

This ^^^ thank you! I did not know there was an app - I had created an "app" by adding the webpage to my iPhone screen - this requires me to log in each time though if enough time passes.

The only thing I notice about it is that it states last payout was 9/27 when the last one was actually today. It references the block from 9/27 correctly it is just missing the three block payments after that.

I also use awesome miner but I have yet to be able to get that to work off my network, so this is nice to verify that my miners are still working.

The ASIC count for Dashboard will be fixed in the new release that will be available soon.

thank you!
