8961  Economy / Speculation / Re: [2017-10-31] Signs of Divergence May Point to Potential Distribution Phase on: October 31, 2017, 11:48:19 PM
This is not a prediction for another crash. They say that it`s diffcult to predict how to market will behave.
The upcoming hard fork might hit the bitcoin price ,but i`m optimistic that the price will recover during December. How do you predict a 3500 USD drop based on this analysis?

I was assuming that if I understood one the charts correctly, it is pointing to $3500. But I am also asking all of you if I was right. You should read the whole article and look at the other charts shown to know.

Please post your view of the analysis. Thank you.
8962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Privacy vs Decentralization vs Scaling on: October 31, 2017, 06:54:42 AM
@elutzen. If you asked the same question 2 years ago, many posts would say scaling. Scalability would be nice but we have seen that privacy and real decentralization should be more important so that a cryptocoin will be free from government control and free from government surveillance.

There other advantages coming from privacy and decentralization but those 2 are the most important, I reckon.
8963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are some shit coins and why? on: October 31, 2017, 05:54:39 AM
@riffaz. A cryptocoin's movement in the market does not make a shitcoin. There are lots of shitcoins that will be good to trade if your aim is to make as much bitcoins as you can.

If you want to invest in a good cryptocoin, look for a coin with proven developers.
8964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 119: Brunson vs Machida Info and Prediction Thread on: October 31, 2017, 01:35:30 AM
@krach. Yes, a rematch versus Anderson would be my first choice if I was his manager or is agent. Assuming that Derek Brunson wins in a questionable way, like Anderson did in their first fight, then we will have another good trilogy!
8965  Economy / Speculation / [2017-10-31] Signs of Divergence May Point to Potential Distribution Phase on: October 31, 2017, 12:36:21 AM
If the technical analysis in this article is reliable, then the bitcoin market is getting ready for another crash, and if I understood it correctly, which I am no that confident, the drop might reach as low as $3500? Is that still possible? What does everyone else reckon?

Please explain it to me like I am 5.

If the market begins to reverse on a macro scale, we can expect to find support along the Fibonacci Retracement values shown above. Also, on the 1-day candles, there is historic support along the 50 EMA and 200 EMA. Over the course of the last year, bitcoin has yet to successfully break below the 200 EMA (shown in red), so we can expect to see a significant level of support along the 200 EMA.

With the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming hard fork, it’s fairly difficult to anticipate how the market will behave.

8966  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-31] Ron Paul: “Government should stay out of” Bitcoin on: October 30, 2017, 11:39:41 PM
Is the SEC not done with threats of banning bitcoin yet? We have not heard anything from them after their statement and guidelines on what they reckon ICOs are. Will we witness a bitcoin ban that would be worse than what we saw in China?

The speculator in me is saying that it is time to buy Monero to keep my modest wealth in crypto safe.

Two-time Republican candidate for President of the United States, and former congressman from Texas, Dr. Ron Paul, MD, explained there is “too much surveillance already on how [cryptocurrencies] are transferred, [and how] the reports have to be made by the exchanges to the IRS.”

Dr. Paul might have been referring to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) attempt to compel popular bitcoin exchange Coinbase into handing-over names of its customers in an effort to prosecute possible tax evasion. The San Francisco-based company has refused the IRS request.

Also in the interview with Daniela Cambone, Editor-in-Chief for Canadian outlet Kitco News, Dr. Paul noted how the trend seems to be of the government waiting until something grows successful enough, and then attempts to severely restrict it or punish it. “If [bitcoin] is a really good deal and a good process,” he said, “rest assured the government will be looking at it very carefully.”

Government interest in bitcoin “makes me a little bit nervous,” he added, “people should be very cautious.”

As for currency competition, “If the people want [bitcoin] and want to use it, the government should stay out of it,” he told Ms. Cambone.

8967  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-29] Vietnam’s Central Bank Seeks to Ban Bitcoin Activities on: October 30, 2017, 07:47:58 AM
Vietnam will then serve as a nice proving ground for bitcoin. Their central bank will become a good example in showing that their laws cannot control the future of the cryptospace, but the cryptospace can move freely around their laws.

This is a time of celebration for bitcoin and private, anonymous cryptocoins.
8968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 30, 2017, 05:04:40 AM
Chart update. We are given another opportunity to stockpile more Aeon coins for our vaults. There is no reason why it should be staying this low, especially with the code rebase coming and a new roadmap forthcoming on 2018.

I reckon the roadmap will introduce mobile nodes with a potential for offline transactions.

8969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 30, 2017, 04:18:29 AM
Why was Sebastian so overaggressive in the late part of the season? Sebastian destroyed his chance to win this race by hitting Lewis. Maybe Max Verstappen has an effect on him on any occasion that they are near each other on the staring grid.

8970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 119: Brunson vs Machida Info and Prediction Thread on: October 30, 2017, 01:56:46 AM
@Hydrogen or anyone. Who do you reckon Derek Brunson must fight next to be at a stage closer to challenge for the middleweight title?

There are 3 names ranked above him that might help him get there, Chris Weidman, Luke Rockhold and Anderson Silva. All 3 have won their latest fights and fighting Anderson again will give him a chance to retire another Brazilian that might revive his image.

@smooth. Samsung has an upcycling site hosted in Github https://galaxyupcycling.github.io/

But there are no repositories for any open source code and it did not say when their miner will be available to everyone. If you want to contact them, you can do it by email galaxyup@samsung.com

I would like to contact them myself out of excitement but I would not know what to tell them. It might be better if you do it since you represent Aeon officially.
8972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: "Insufficient collateral available in your margin" Polo margin trading problem on: October 29, 2017, 06:42:01 AM
I reckon that in order to place a stop loss order for your short position, you need to do the opposite of your short and do a margin limit buy order for the same amount of Bitshares that you have shorted.

8973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 119: Brunson vs Machida Info and Prediction Thread on: October 29, 2017, 05:05:57 AM
@Hydrogen. Lyoto Machida will need to increase his secret training method if he wants to stay in the UFC. Derek Brunson showed him that it will take more than drinking your own pee to win versus a power puncher.

I reckon Lyoto and Demian need to retire.

8974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-10-07: update to 0.9.14.0] on: October 29, 2017, 03:41:36 AM
@smooth. Samsung has started building mining rigs using old Galaxy S5 cellphones and they have reportedly claimed that their rig is more energy efficient compared to a regular desktop PC.

Maybe this is something that Aeon can take advantage from.

The mining rig was unveiled during a recent Samsung developer conference held in San Francisco. The rig is the brainchild of Samsung’s Creative Lab – an internal hub for innovation and development within Samsung that is located at the Samsung Digital City in Korea.

Aside from the cryptocurrency mining rig, Samsung program has also seen an old Galaxy table turned into an ubuntu-powered laptop, and a Galaxy S3 smartphone repurposed to monitor a fishtank. The company has also utilized an old phone featuring facial recognition software as the basis for the home security system.

The company has pledged to make plans for the showcased projects freely available online, in addition to the software that allowed Samsung’s Creative Lab to unlock and repurpose old phones. Samsung spokesperson, Robin Schultz, told motherboard that the “innovative platform provides an environmentally responsible way for old Galaxy mobile devices to breathe new life, providing new possibilities and potential extended value for devices that might otherwise be forgotten in desk drawers or discarded.”

8975  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-28] DCEBrief - 124 Hedge Funds Managing Cryptocurrency Assets on: October 29, 2017, 01:34:28 AM
The bankers and investors who say that bitcoin is a bubble are partly correct. But it should not offset from how great bitcoin is as a technological marvel. In truth, what is causing the bitcoin bubble are the same people who have been creating bubbles in the conventional markets. Wall Street, bankers and 124 hedge funds.

8977  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-28] Segwit2X Statement and Concerns on: October 28, 2017, 01:30:26 AM
If there are many other bitcoin organizations and institutions that reject the Segwit2x hardfork, then that makes it contentious, and if it is contentious then it is an altcoin, and if it is an altcoin, but it demands to call itself bitcoin, then it should be considered a raid on the real bitcoin.

Tell everyone you know to dump Segwit2x as soon as they can. We should reject all aggressive raids pretending to be upgrades.

8978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tezos leaders ask for patience over dispute on cybercurrency project on: October 28, 2017, 01:19:03 AM
@ulhaq. Are you telling us that Tezos and its founders are showing all the other ICOs that they have found the perfect situation to scam the community? This is very worrying, because the same model might become the customary way of doing ICOs.

It is the participants who should be protected, not the ICO developers.
8979  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-22] DCEBrief - ECB’s Draghi: Crypto Not Mature Enough to Regulate on: October 27, 2017, 01:32:36 AM
I reckon it is not about the cryptospace's maturity, but the ability of how the laws in its present form, could regulate bitcoin and the other coins.

The speed of decentralized technology development in the cryptospace is moving in a very fast pace. I speculate that there will be no legal framework set that would be effective in regulating it in 10 years.
8980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tezos leaders ask for patience over dispute on cybercurrency project on: October 27, 2017, 01:10:53 AM
This whole thing is highly disturbing... Tezos was set to be huge, but this is some serious bungling that casts doubt on the entire project.   Not sure how they can bounce back from this, even if they do regain control of the investment/donations.  Roll Eyes.

Whether Tezos will recover or not should not be the principal issue in this controversy, but the bitcoins and the ETH invested by the people who to the risk willingly should.

If their internal disputes continue longer than expected, will the investors have a chance to get their coins back? Does the SEC or a Swiss regulator have to intercede if the investors want their coins back?

Those are the questions that should be asked.
