901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: March 18, 2017, 03:14:40 PM
Bitcoin is really not that different from regular money, it is jut that since bitcoin is mostly digital there is not much use for it in our regular lives.
A realise is bitcoin is decentralized and not endless printing. So it is more profitable for us to use bitcoin rather than fiat. If you use bitcoin your value of your money is increase everytime, your transaction become more easier, faster, safer and government will not tax it.
So bitcoin and fiat is the same, it is money. But bitcoin  is give us more benefit rather than fiat.
yes the main difference between bitcoin and the real money is that bitcoin is online decentralize digital currency while fiat is centralize currency with different value from place to place.

I can see that people can just see the difference of two though its easiness of the access. But then as I say, they are in different concept. Real money cant be compare with  digital currency and same is true for digital currency.

Yes and the only difference is people have more faith in paper money as they are using it from long time and can hold it physically and bitcoin is virtual so they don't have same level of trust on bitcoin as they feel that it can disappear at any time.
902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Digitalcoin [DGC]. An Anonymous, Instant and Secure Digital Currency. on: July 19, 2015, 11:32:16 PM
Nice work! Yeah I'm getting the same on Chrome too. IE etc is ok.
903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Baritus has rejoined the Digitalcoin Development Team! on: June 29, 2015, 10:54:08 PM
I was PM'd about this and found it interesting considering the drama way back about him "stepping back"

I read most of the replies but I wonder are we mincing words ?
Like what would you all consider being part of the development team ?

Sorry Baritus I have no hate on for you just some disappointment from past incidents.

Keep it honest Baritus.. that is the best way to do things (the more you play games the worse it will catch up with you)

Baritus said he wants nothing to do with any foundation, I asked him about this myself and he clarified his position - he wants nothing to do with it at all.

He was just chatting on a forum which was talking about the future of the coin.

A clear and obvious development roadpath for DGC appears to have emerged and that's to follow the Bitcoin core updates as they're released but I think more details of this will be announced in the coming weeks as things get nearer to completion.

Thanks for the update Samson. Hopefully this should lay this stupid rumour to rest. I thought the Digitalcoin community moved on from this nonsense ages ago. We currently have some good guys working on various projects, the price is well up and Digitalcoin has continued to function well since going multi-algorithm.

[mod note: off-topic discussion of moderation removed. Such discussion should go to Meta]
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Baritus has rejoined the Digitalcoin Development Team! on: June 28, 2015, 01:25:24 AM
Seriously Kenel you have stooped to new lows with this thread. I have no idea what your angle is with this but its really pathetic coming from an ex DCF president. Just because he posts 1 post saying he wants to join a discussion does not equal he is taking over Digitalcoin development.

If you actually cared about Digitalcoin you would have not started such an inflammatory and rubbish thread. Poor form.
905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: alt coin rise? on: June 18, 2015, 03:51:02 AM
Yeah its nice to see the price rise going on at the moment especially for the older coins that have active communities and ongoing development. Digitalcoin has been one of the few coins that has been able to operate with stability and continued improvement over a long time period. Looking forward to this continuing.

Like Samson mentioned it would be interesting to know the who and why behind the price rises though. That BTC38 image shows rises almost right across the board with some coins a fair bit more than others.
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DGC] Digitalcoin 3.0 | Multi-algorithm, Improved Blockchain Storage | RELEASED! on: May 29, 2015, 01:27:22 AM
Although alot of other altcoins are going up across the board, the price for Digitalcoin has tripled in the last few weeks which is very nice to see. Holding up nicely now between 0.000045 and 0.00005 on Cryptsy. Its also between 0.070-080 CNY or son on BTC38. Hopefully the price along with services continues to grow.

Also nice to see the following news for Digitalcoin as selected in the top 20 altcoins.

A poll conducted by the Altcoins Foundation on bitcointalk recently saw the selection of 15 altcoins to accompany 5 selected by the Altcoins Foundation, to be showcased on their soon to be released website.

"Winners will earn a 2 month VIP membership to promote their cryptocurrency on the release of the Foundation."

910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC] Digitalcoin speculation on: April 06, 2015, 01:23:34 PM
DGC price is stable and we are also at a constant 50 or so ppl in the IRC channel like you said Simon. We are gaining new forum members as well all the time. Add to that how long we have been around for and all the projects underway currently and its safe to say DGC is a decent investment long term.
911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Destroy stereotypes about Digitalcoin [DGC] on: April 06, 2015, 02:13:36 AM

  • "I heard about DGC. That was the coin what had a developer who stolen the premined coins" - We didn't have any premine coin, the original dev left us a year ago, that was his own bought/mined supply so who cares? We have a stable, reliable foundation, etc-etc.

if this is the case why was he outted as a scammer by many of the current core members of dgc?

Why do you keep bringing up Baritus name? Most people have moved on now. As stated numerous times by the foundation and new devs he is no longer involved with developing Digitalcoin. Why not take up your personal vendetta with him instead of the DGC community? That is if you can contact him at all. As you can see here he hasn't made any posts since last year

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=89750;sa=showPosts

While we might not have the exposure and userbase of some other coins, the DGC community has a very strong team and is committed for the long haul and has numerous projects in the pipeline which can read about in our forum.

https://forum.digitalcoin.co/

If you have any shred of integrity and intelligence you will give up the pointless trolling and provide some constructive useful input instead.

912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DGC] Digitalcoin has a new website! on: April 01, 2015, 04:20:07 AM
Looks great. Very user friendly and well laid out with useful info and links.

Nice work Xawksow!
913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "If you were the President of the DGC Foundation, what would be your next step?" on: March 30, 2015, 04:57:38 AM
This DoSing that cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Firstly I don't need to prove anything to you.

This is not an extortion attempt, there is nothing I want from you, nor anything you can say to change it (i'm not bcx i don't need you to make funny videos for me or anything), I'm simply giving you a statement of fact into what I have been and will continue to do to DGC.

So why would I even post this here? well

a) to back up my answer to your question at the start of this thread. b) because people knowing what I am doing makes my job of doing it somewhat easier (not an easy task even with a decent holding, as its on multiple exchanges, and after said dumps I also need to buy back cheaper and there is often bargain hunters etc etc etc).

but if to you a genuinely curious, I do not know how much ddos costs me, I trade the markets irl, the downtime could have cost me more then your marketcap, could have cost me nothing or could have even saved me money (ie might have missed a bad day or so)....can't say what trades I could have or would have done a I trade live.

Doesn't really matter how much you dump or how low you dump it to, there are enough people interested in DGC to buy it back up.  You can slow down but can never stop real progress.

-tb-

now thats just wishful thinking not a statement of fact.

you'll be surprised at times how little you even need (surprises me), as overtime buyers have thinned out alot.

its not always been the case, but now, at this point, all coins are controlled completely by market forces. what gives any crypto a 'price' is simply the greater fool economics theory. take away the chance of people being able to sell to some fool for higher and you have no supporters.

Were you not a goldcoin bagholder? I seem to remember you basically praising it as Gods gift to altcoins a while back. Not exactly setting the world alight that one is it?

Also to be dumping DGC you must be also buying. Strange from someone who seems to not care much for Digitalcoin. On these points alone its very hard to take anything you say seriously.
914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "If you were the President of the DGC Foundation, what would be your next step?" on: March 30, 2015, 02:05:36 AM
Digitalcoin has a great community including some fantastic devs doing some excellent work. I'm also appreciative for the hard work Kenel is doing as president and its good to see an open and fair minded discussion opened up in this thread.

I'm another person holding a number of CAve shares as well. No idea if I'll see any return from them or not but to be honest I'm just over it and looking to move forward with DGC. Like Ahmed and Kenel have said Baritus is no longer involved and hasn't been around for quite a while. Looking forward to this new direction now with Digitalcoin and hoping it becomes the success it deserves to be in the future.

919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC] Digitalcoin speculation on: February 10, 2015, 01:12:50 AM
Wasn't the dev a scammer? Pretends his premine was stolen (although provides no proof) and then dumped everything.

You have your wires crossed there. This was discussed numerous times in the past and was debated to death pretty much. Nothing was ever proven 100%. At worst the dev may have dumped 500k of his own Digitalcoin which to be honest he was entitled to do, even if it would seem very stupid to most of us at such a low price at the time.

Digitalcoin was fair launch and not premined.

You might be better to read about actual scamcoins here:

http://altcoins.com/scamcoins

The previous dev you talk about no longer develops for Digitalcoin and hasn't been involved for quite a while now. We have a whole new talented team behind Digitalcoin including the Digitalcoin Foundation.

http://digitalcoin.foundation/

and have already made some great changes such as multi algo support. I'm sure you will find with a little more research that Digitalcoin is one of the most fair launch and 'clean' Cryptocoins available.

I would encourage you if your interested to come and chat to the DGC community on Freenode IRC #digitalcoin and also read the Digitalcoin forum.

Cheers.

920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC] Digitalcoin speculation on: February 10, 2015, 12:30:18 AM
Yes I think alot of coins including Digitalcoin have been overshadowed or lost in the mire of mostly worthless cryptocoins that have been pumped out regularly over the last year or so. Hopefully with the great team behind Digitalcoin now it will rise back up again.

Really looking forward to seeing how far the DGC community can take this coin. For example the Noobie.io marketplace that is due to open today is looking like a great service for Digitalcoin. I would encourage everyone to get behind it and support it if they want to see Digitalcoin grow and flourish!  Smiley
