Man City vs Liverpool could be called the Champions League final and it is a very important match for first place in the standings! In the last four games Liverpool have failed to beat Man City at home or away... I wish they can do it this time, because they're playing even better than before! I'd try to bet on them to win at odds of 3.6! Wink
good experiment despite the huge risk, indeed Liverpool are very unseeded in this match because this match will be played at home to Manchester City, but with the fierce competition for the title this season I think Liverpool will give everything to be able to win this match, because if they lost the possibility for them to win the Premier League this season is gone.

This match will be very interesting but very difficult to predict, I myself prefer to just enjoy it without wanting to risk betting anywhere on this match.

I think the bet on Liverpool is justified as the odds offered by the bookmakers are great. Manchester City have been leading the whole season so they are considered the clear favourites, but the truth is that if Liverpool were able to get close to them, then Liverpool are stronger in this stretch. I think that Liverpool at least will draw today, but the bet on victory is of course more profitable.

It is rather difficult to assess the defeat of Bayern in the Champions League on the chances of Augsburg. On the one hand, Bayern will concentrate 100% on the second leg with Villarreal and this should increase the chances of Augsburg, but on the other hand, the second squad of Bayern is very motivated to prove themselves, so they can play even stronger than the first squad.
After successfully defeating mainz last week, Augsburg are currently moving away from the relegation zone but it is very important for them to continue to win in order to maintain their current position, but I think the positive results that Augsburg get are unlikely to continue in the match against munchen later, because indeed Bayern Munich is much stronger than the current Augsburg squad.
The defeat against Villareal is of course quite painful but the defeat will not have much effect on Bayern's performance in the league, because as I recall, Bayern Munich will appear quite dangerous in the league after getting a bad result in the champions league,  you will remember when bayern munich with Salzburg drew 1-1 in the 1st leg of the Champions League last 16, after the negative result, bayern munchen squad went go crazy in the league by destroying all his opponents and even in the 2nd leg of the last 16 bayern munchen slaughtered salzburg with a score of 7-1, so I think the conditions  bayern munchen now is not much different from that incident and Augsburg should be wary if later bayern munchen will go crazy for revenge for their defeat to villareal.

With all due respect to Salzburg, they are incomparable in strength with Villarreal. Even in the first game where Salzburg managed to keep a draw, Bayern's advantage after a missed goal was total. In the return game there was only one question - how many goals Bayern will score. In the case of Villarreal the situation is much more complicated and I won't be surprised if Villarreal can score a goal even in the away match.

The punishment was calculated appropriately, I believe. If you slap, you get slapped in return. The cycle of life sometimes. It is reasonable to wait 10 years. The first thing that came to mind was that he should not be allowed back. We have zero tolerance for abuse and for ruining everyone's night.

But, Is it wise to constantly add fuel to the fire? Everyone makes mistakes and tempers flare occasionally. How would you have reacted if you were him?

I hope this is a real punishment that will not be lifted in a year or two. And in fact, this whole situation is already very tiring - how much news can you make from one event? It seems that this was the only event at this Oscar ceremony. This ceremony itself is of no interest to anyone anymore.
By the way, judging by the videos that get into social networks, Smith really has big problems in family relationships.

didn't even know about Karakajin's situation so went to google it

Russia’s Sergey Karjakin banned from chess for supporting invasion of Ukraine

idk, even though I disagree with him I don't like the cancellation culture, I don't think a GM should be banned from playing because he supports the war and the president of his country, his ideology won't affect the way he plays and has no relation to chess so what is the point?

everything turned into politics lately.
Us vs them taken to the extreme.

The point is that the war is going on right now. Everyone participates in it in one way or another - this is a global world, and it's hard not to see a direct participant in the war in Karyakin - he is a citizen of Russia and supports the war. If you took a side and participate in the war, then be prepared for the fact that certain measures will be taken against you. I think this is fair and logical.
905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your opinions about simulated reality games? on: April 08, 2022, 04:26:17 PM
Proper simulations should give results that, on large amounts of data, will be indistinguishable from the results of non-simulated games. That is, regardless of whether you really toss 10 dice or simulate this process, with a certain number of tosses, you should get 10 sixes.
Still, when I think about the mathematical background of the process, I understand that I will never bet on simulated games, because it may be almost the same with a "live" game, but in a live game, the better and the bookmaker compete in predicting an unknown event and in simulated games, the bookmaker is initially on the side that controls all possible outcomes.

ready to be denied:
is this really the case in these kinds of games?
as far as I know, for this type of bets / matches there is no process that allows you to independently verify the final result.
or something that help to understand how the final result has been determined.
likewise in Dice you can verify your roll.... here you can verify what happens?
if between a "super favorite" and a "very poor" team the result is always a bit obvious ... if this not happens how can we verify these results? More over, the result is determined by what kind of calculations?

If we do not have an exact mathematical model of the game, then of course we cannot fully verify the correctness of the results obtained. But hypothetically it can be done. For example, it is unlikely that the favorite plays 1000 times better than the outsider - this is contrary to the sports league system. Therefore, if, for example, in 2000 games, an outsider has never defeated a favorite, then this should raise huge questions.
906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: April 08, 2022, 03:55:33 PM
They are both already past their prime.

That one I do not agree with for GGG, he has not lost a fight since 2019, in fact, his only loss is against Canelo who is a great fighter and that one was still controversial until now, so I think there's no basis for calling GGG has passed his prime.

I think this is fair and does not apply to his sports results, but to his physical form. It is difficult to assume that at the age of 39 the athlete did not pass his peak. Perhaps now GGG is close to the peak if we take a combination of experience, physical form and skills, but still I think that in a sport like boxing, physical condition matters close to dominant, so I think that the prime of GGG is really behind.
907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 08, 2022, 03:46:50 PM
There is only one match today. Newcastle United and Wolverhampton. Newcastle United have lost their last 3 games. They are going to the bottom of the league. Wolverhampton have a more stable outlook than Newcastle United. I had a hard time placing a bet. I think the home team is close to winning, but it is a match open to surprises. I would prefer to stay away.

But in the previous 10 games, Newcastle showed amazing results and resolved the issue in order to stay in the Premier League. In today's match, I would rather bet on Newcastle, the only thing that confuses me is that Newcastle's motivation will be "normal", while Wolverhampton's will have an increased one - they have a chance to get a ticket to the Europa League next year, so for them every game is as important as possible.

Leipzig are now in better shape than Atalanta. Atalanta recently fought for the Champions League zone with Juventus in Serie A, and now they are in 7th place. Leipzig, on the other hand, only improves their game, and as proof, in the last round of the Bundesliga, they confidently beat Borussia Dortmund. This match may be interesting because both teams play attacking football and both are very resultative, so I expect at least four goals in this match.

This prediction may well come true - Leipzig will try to decide the outcome of the confrontation in the first leg and a score like 3-1 is very likely, given that the teams attack well. From the first minutes I can say that Atalanta is also not going to sit on the defensive, but will look for his success in the attack. It looks like it will be a really interesting match.
911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 07, 2022, 04:30:15 PM
Okay, Bayern Munich lost the match in the Champignons League yesterday. And of course many hope that Bayern Munich will perform poorly as a result and that the underdog Augsburg  will have a great chance to win the game at the weekend. But maybe Augsburg really will make it. Just like in the first leg. They won that with 2:1. But to be realistic, Augsburg will only have few chances.

I think that this initiative is aimed primarily at expanding the audience of this game. This is a complete repetition of poker schools that were very popular at one time. I think that this is a profitable offer for both gamblers and casinos, as they get skills for free, and the casino gets new potential players. It would be interesting to see the success of someone who has fully completed these courses - have they helped him to play more profitably?

idk, I believe in natural skill (talent) but also that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard
so it should be possible to raise to a high level but will probably take years of practice

the other topic is now closed for some reason....

Yes, I also noticed that that topic was quite active, but now closed.
Still thinking about the idea of opening a new thread, with a poll option.
At the moment, I would be interested to know what the chess community thinks about Karjakin's ban. Personally, I am very impressed with the opinion of So who said that Karjakin just went crazy.
914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 06, 2022, 05:01:51 PM
Real Madrid won against PSG only for Benzema's outstanding performance. Real Madrid would never have won against PSG without Benzema's outstanding performance. In today's match too, I would say that Real Madrid's victory or defeat will depend on Benzema's performance. Real Madrid will win if Benzema can play well. In the match we will see the dominance of Chelsea.

But in fact, all three goals were the result of teamwork and not some phenomenal strike or individual feat. If Chelsea focuses too much on Benzema it will be a big mistake as there are many other dangerous players in Real Madrid who can punish for such underestimation of other players.
As for domination, I completely disagree, I think regardless of the result of today's match, the statistical indicators will be the same for both teams in all respects. Maybe I'm wrong, but we'll check it soon.
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 06, 2022, 04:54:03 PM
Chelsea's result is easy to explain - in the Premier League they lost the race for the title and nothing threatens their place in the top 3. So they focused on the Champions League. Chelsea continues to play in three tournaments (the third is the FA Cup), so this redistribution of power is reasonable. With Arsenal, it's a different story - they've been eliminated from all competitions and play only in the Premier League, so this defeat is the most surprising result since Arsenal played at full strength and there can be no excuses.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea have not beaten any real top team this season. It's even more annoying for Arsenal fans  because they have been playing only once a week, the team should be giving more but only to be humbled by Vieira Crystal Palace. Probably, this loss will give the club and fans a reality check because in recent weeks they have been talking about overtaking Chelsea, sadly they be overtook by Spurs and with tough games ahead they might not make it to top 4.

Nice observation, but on the other hand if Arsenal were scoring against the big teams then they would be among them now (in fact they are not that far even from third place now). But if Arsenal continue to lose to the big teams (and sometimes lose points against the regular ones), then it is likely that Tottenham will force them out of the top 4. And Manchester United is not far behind to completely write them off.

You are right because Chelsea might be channeling all there attention to their champions League game against a Spanish giant ( Real Madrid) so they can be distracted in games like this that don't have significant, they are well okay in the league and they can't challenge Liverpool and Manchester City right now for the title so they need  put there energy in a competition they can still win while arsenal lose will be dissapointed because the game is very essential in their quest to go to the champions League.

Today it will be seen how this decision was justified by Chelsea. It looks like Real Madrid is not in the best shape, so today Chelsea should try to get an advantage before the away game, as Real is dangerous in any condition and every chance should be used.
916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: April 06, 2022, 04:43:26 PM
It seems to me that I would consider betting on GGG's opponent with odds no less than 8-9.

That's not possible because this fight is a unification fight, if you want to get that kind of odds, then you should guess what round GGG would KO Murata as you cannot change the current odds. Murata is very popular in Japan, and his fans believe that he can beat GGG.

I think there have already been many cases when in a unification or other championship fight one of the fighters was a clear favorite and, accordingly, the chances of his defeat were much more than 10. If Murata's fans don't just believe in him but are also generously betting on him to win then I understand why the odds are what they are, however I continue to believe that GGG will win this fight without a problem.
917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your opinions about simulated reality games? on: April 06, 2022, 04:31:01 PM
Interesting. I have seen this at several bookmakers but didn't take it seriously as it looks like slot machines to me (purely psychologically). I would like to know if anyone has done research on how well these games match the real ones - are there such insane results that we sometimes see in reality or the spread of outcomes is smoother.
It could never be comparable when it talks about reality aspects which neither it would happen or not and since its simulated games then results could really be totally random and surprisingly
there were people who do really get interested on making out some bets out of these games considering that they arent live ones or basing up on historical data just like on whats been mentioned
above then it might be totally or 100% random in result where some people do find it out to be interesting.

Proper simulations should give results that, on large amounts of data, will be indistinguishable from the results of non-simulated games. That is, regardless of whether you really toss 10 dice or simulate this process, with a certain number of tosses, you should get 10 sixes.

918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 05, 2022, 01:22:17 PM
Chelsea and Arsenal got unexpected results, but obviously Chelsea got a very surprising result. Chelsea lost at home by a promoted team, but Arsenal lost away by Crystal Palace and in fact Crystal Palace is not an easy opponent for Arsenal. Considering their head to head results, Crystal Palace often provides strong resistance for Arsenal so that draws often occur for them. But this time, Crystal Palace can really win the match even with a clean sheet and also, with this result at least Tottenham can be in the top four even though the position is still not safe because Arsenal still have a big chance to take over the position.

Chelsea's result is easy to explain - in the Premier League they lost the race for the title and nothing threatens their place in the top 3. So they focused on the Champions League. Chelsea continues to play in three tournaments (the third is the FA Cup), so this redistribution of power is reasonable. 919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: April 05, 2022, 01:15:08 PM
I think that even this odds 1.2 can be considered generous for a bet on the victory of GGG. The difference in age is negligible and the difference in class is huge. Most likely, bookmakers give such a coefficient simply on the basis that the aging GGG will misfire in approximately the upcoming 4-5 fights simply because of his age and insufficient mood (now he is far from young and must mobilize all his strength for victories).

But for Murata fans, betting on this odds will be favorable for them. A lot of boxing matches ended up upset so won't be surprised if this one will turn out to be another one. I know, there are so many GGG fans here but we don't know what kind of preparation both are doing. Sometimes, it is all in the preparation. And yes, even if this will happen in Murata's home country, I am confident that they will do the right things here. Japanese people are one of the honest people that I know of.

4.5 on the accidental defeat of GGG? In my opinion, this is too unjustified a figure to bet on GGG's opponent. I don't see any hint that this is going to be a competitive fight and it's not a super heavyweight class where you can hope for one lucky punch to turn the fight around. It seems to me that I would consider betting on GGG's opponent with odds no less than 8-9.

I have no interest in Liverpool vs Benfica. Because the match is more likely to be one-sided. I look forward to the match between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid. Although on paper Manchester City are favorite. But Atletico Madrid is not a weak team. They have the ability to win against Manchester. This is City's home match, they will probably play carefully. However, it will not be easy to get 3 points against Atletico Madrid. Looking forward to enjoying a competitive match.

At this stage of the tournament, it is difficult to guess which match will be one-sided. Maybe City will score an early goal and Atlético will fall apart, or maybe Benfica will score an early goal and then we will see how Liverpool will attack the whole match trying to win back. I will try to watch both matches and where the events will develop more interesting there I will spend more time.
