Did anyone send the dev a PM about this?

This is kind of good news, but it would have been better on a more establish and credible exchange.

Good news is good news still. Hope this push the coin a bit more.

and watch the dumping begin  Sad

sell orders peeps, not sell into the orders  Cool

I have a 3tb coming in today. Should I solo or use the pool?

I am guessing that if the pool goes down, you will have to recreate all the plots again before you can continue mining.

I would solo but it's up to you

i'd generate them with pocminer_pool, as if you're running the wallet on the same machine you'll solo, so you can use those plots for pool or solo.

if you generate them with the original pocminer you'll only be able to solo

pocminer_pool does both solo and pool mining. plot files that have a corresponding passphrase in the passphrases.txt file are solomined if you have your wallet running, and plot files without a passphrase are assumed to be for the pool

I didnt know that

recreating plots.. brb 1 month LOL year 2015

wait for confirmation from dev just reread and its a bit ambiguos

just tried and doesnt work, seems to require both pool plots and solo plots, i'd say stick to solo if you've got good storage

at least thats what i got from this:

I've got usb 3 drive, but my computer only has usb 2, will it work?

Anyway, I've got another issue:

Code:
sh run_generate.sh address 1 800000 500 2
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for 4096000KB object heap

It occurs no matter what numbers I write. I've got 4gb of RAM.

Should the pocminerv1 directory be placed on my external drive if I want to create plots there?

in run_generate.sh change -Xmx4000m to -Xmx1000m, and yes put the pocminer dir on the drive you want the plots created on then link them across

Hi peeps,
Have any of you tried using portable usb 3 drives? i can get hold of some 2tb ones for just over £40!!!!
I'm using usb3 sata bridges at the moment and they're working but being powered by mains not sure how usb powered
drives would affect mining. any thoughts? might just grab one tomorrow and find out.
worst case scenario spare drive I suppose.

edit:
also being portable drives I'm presuming they're 5400's anyone tried using 5400's?

As long as they are USB 3 your good to go. The dev talked about this too.

It will take you a LONG time to write the plots so get them as soon as you can if you are going to. I would build plots for the pool rather than for solo mining too.

thanks  Smiley

roughly 1.2tb already plotted but i only had 2 spare 1tb drives reaching the limit. Probably stay solo for now tbh, 15 blocks so far Smiley
also have 3 computers i can generate plots with so it doesn't take too long
