@Portnoy There is no point in crying foul. We clearly understand why you run your newbie lotto. Unless you can post your blockchain Tx details of last 3 months lotto winner, the simple inference that comes out is you are a SCAMMER. You lure people to post against your freebie thread and get paid by faucet owners for top listing. The following statement is taken from your thread...

Quote
note: Free Bitcoin Site owners can pay BTC to move their site up to the top of the list and this BTC will go into the newbie lotto bonus fund.

I tried to deal with this offlist but that is not good enough for BitCoinDream who no doubt thinks I am being evasive and
trying to hide, what he considers, my scamming.

I started the newbie lotto 'partly' to keep the Free Bitcoin Sites thread active and on the first page of posts, sure,
big and terrible crime right there folks. Me and others have always felt that thread should be stickied to have a trusted
place which lists verified free bitcoin sites for newbies... I have already explained why I think this is the best way to
protects newbies from scams and to keep the forums more spam free.

It was/is also is good way to give more freebies to newbies, using their address in my daily checks of these sites rather than
using my own address. Like I said I am not trying to get rich by collecting the fractions of pennies one gets from these sites.

This post, which I have to re-post from time to time, explains what I am trying to do with the list:
What good is it if one only gets very very small amounts?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=74046.msg1088930#msg1088930

There are not many free bitcoin sites that give out non-dust amounts anymore which I can use to give a daily payout to the daily lotto winner
( most sites now require one to build up a minimum balance over time... and so that doesn't work for a daily lotto. )
But there is still one site owner [ a, perhaps, rare free site owner that cares about helping newbies more than trying to
make a quick buck ] that set up a form for me to use just for the lotto ( I won't post the name of the benefactor or the url
for that form to keep someone else from finding it and abusing it. I can tell the mods if they deem it important ).
So the daily winner will always receive at least 0.00013 BTC.

Like I often say that is not much at all, but it is a free draw and the better thing is the Bonus drawing which I do once a month
or two. Every entry in the newbie lotto is eligible for that.

This next link below kinda explains the genesis of the bonus draw and what can be expected if one wins:
Khal donation:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90718.msg1582471#msg1582471

And I also emphasized to BitCoinDream the details, which can be seen in the OP of the free bitcoin sites thread, of
the sponsorship thing.

Quote
Free Bitcoin Site owners can pay BTC to move their site up to the top of the list and this BTC will go into the newbie lotto bonus fund.
The site can't be any old site but must still qualify as a site worthy of inclusion in the free Bitcoin Site List.

To repeat, a sponsor can only be a site which would be in the list anyway, and what they give to move their site to the top goes into the bonus draw.
( does not every newbie who checks the list go through the 'whole' list rather than just using the top link? )

I welcome anyone, like I did the author of this thread, to go through the posts of the free bitcoin sites thread to see the tx details of all the bonus draws.

If the moderators have a problem with me having that sponsorship thing, with the proceeds going to newbies in the bonus draw, I will end it and pay back the BTC to the current sponsor.

If the moderators of this forum have a problem with me using referrals links in the list, the proceeds of which again go into the bonus draw, I will end that.

If the moderators of this forum have a problem with me running the newbie draw I will end that too.
( I keep my own record of the amount in the bonus fund. 1.8480 BTC currently. That should keep the bonus draw going for a while,
unless the mods want me to end that as well and give that money to some charity or something. )

The moderators are also free to delete the whole Free Bitcoin Sites threads if they don't like it or think I am doing something wrong.

Is this good enough for you yet BitCoinDream or do you want to dismiss 'this' as crying foul as well?   Undecided

I see in your list : DailyFreeBitcoin ( not paying out )
I think they are paying out again right now, i try to cash out my satoshi and they paid quickly.
proof Screenshoot -> HERE
proof Hash Transaction -> HERE (you can see my address in the list there)

They are off the list for inconsistencies in paying out. Sometimes they payout and sometimes people fail to get a payout and still get their balances cleared out.
I have been monitoring them and am getting close to a payout. I may give them a second, or actually third, chance and put them back on the list if I am successful in getting a payout. If they fail again after that they will be off the list for good.

Thanks for the report.

I would like you to consider readding http://free-btc.cu.cc/#!/faucet
The popups are still there, but appears 10 times less (down from 20% chance of appearing to 2% chance of appearing).

What was unacceptable was the redirection to another page right after one uses the link... not cool even if it happens 0.2 % of the time.

Do you mean after you submitted? Because that's completely removed. I just talked about the popups, and if you don't like them you could just Ctrl+W the few times they appear.

I mean when I clicked on the link to your site it instantly opened a new tab for some other site and took me there.
Maybe on other browsers it would be a pop-up instead of a tab?

And why don't you send the payout instantly to microwallet for users that use their microwallet username, instead of making them wait to build up 5000 satoshis ( which would be dust if sent to a Bitcoin address instead of microwallet )?

I can't have Google Ads or similar on my site, which lead to me having very little incomes. Before these changes I was only able to send about 10 satoshis (and still I lost money). But of course, you might prefer 4 times smaller rewards and no referrals.

I would suggest that if you are only running the faucet to make money then you should find another line of work that pays better.   Wink

This list is to help newbies get started with receiving and using Bitcoin, not to help website operators make money.  Sorry.

I'm not trying to make money, just avoid losing lots of money. I pretty much want to go +- 0, and I try to adjust the payouts so I can do that.

Well good luck with that. But remember in order to be considered free and to get included on the list you need to make sure you don't make people jump through a bunch of hoops and annoy them in other ways. The point is to help newbies and make using Bitcoin a positive experience.

Portnoy stop bumping your thread PLEASE

I didn't bump it, even though one is allowed one bump per day, which I may just use since you are being like this...

I am not allowed to respond to what people post?

And why are you posting this here if not to push this post up?
909  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FREE BITCOIN Sites *and* Free Newbie Lotto on: February 12, 2014, 08:59:53 PM

It is sad how many people believe in the concept of too good to be true. You could set up a booth that says FREE MONEY and put a fish tank full of cash there, and most people will walk right by because "there has to be a catch".

Unfortunately in the wild west world of Bitcoin one 'does' needs to be very cautious.

As I was saying elsewhere, I have seen very very many Bitcoin scams on this forum and elsewhere since I joined here in 2011.

This is why I feel a maintained and community-verified list like this is very important.

If any site asks you for more than a Bitcoin address to send the free Bitcoin to, think long and hard about it.
And even if that it is all they ask for, still be careful.  We do the best we can to make sure only legit sites
get added to this list, but any of these sites can change at any time so it certainly isn't 100% safe.

Do check out these sites, if you want, and if you, or anyone, finds anything that doesn't seem right please
let us know and we will remove any offending sites from the list. Please feel free to share any information
you like about your experience with these sites, or let us know of other ones you have found.

Thanks

You should check out QoinPro, very simple and easy site.  You get free coins daily just by signing up.

Can anyone confirm this is legit?  Why do they need ones email address?

i can confirm it is legit. been doing it for a few days now,had a quite a few bugs but they communicate well and have fixed.the email is for confirmation and daily balance deposit updates.

not bad at all considering you get a signup bonus of BTC,LTC,FTC and TIPS.Then you get daily those same 4 with others to be added in future.
but daily 1 or 2 satoshi and some other coins its very less you need too much time to reach minimum limit or need too many referrals for this its not a legit

Thanks for the reports.

I tried to sign up with them but they never did send me that confirmation email.  I checked my junk folder and there is nothing from them in there... oh well.

some time its take too much time my many referrals just because of this run away and now not signing again and I am also leaving this site

Thanks for the feedback.
911  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free Faucets with Payment proof on: February 12, 2014, 08:44:35 PM
No, having the link in your signature is perfectly fine, I'm guilty of that myself..lol

It just seems whenever a person posts their own list / website, you post your standardized,

copy and pasted reply, warning them away from "copy cats" and redirecting them to your list.

No, I have never come across any malware from a free list, but yes, like I said,

I come across the occasional scam, there are definitely many out there.

I'm sorry I didn't look for tx details for the newbie draw, I was just going by what the OP said,

my mistake by doing that...  Sad

A watched over proven list is good, but it's not as altruistic as you make it out be, with all the referral links.

I'm probably just jealous of all your free advertising... Tongue I will drop the subject.

I have been here since mid-2011. Lurked for a few months before joining. And in that time I have seen a lot of scams...
more than I could count... The mods take care of a lot of them but they can't go and check out all the sites that people
offer links for. My interest is in helping Bitcoin users, especially newbies, try to avoid all that by maintaining a thread
on this forum ( which as I said is watched over by not just me but the mods and everyone in the community that
wants to participate, and there is a lot who follow the free Bitcoin sites thread ) where people can feel reasonably safe
in trying the system out... getting a few non-dust satoshis to add to their new Bitcoin wallet or account.

Of course it is not all unselfish on my part. Helping out newbies and making sure they don't get scammed and turned off
of cryptocurrency helps out the whole Bitcoin economy, of which I am a part.

I post in threads like this 'not' because I am trying to build up the satoshis with referrals ( which doesn't add
up to very much, but helps me keep the newbie bonus draw going, along with the occasional donation ) it is because
I feel we don't need more than one free Bitcoin sites thread, and if we have one it should be one that is proven due
to the long time it has been here and the scrutiny it has received in that time.

It can get confusing to have a lot of threads doing basically the same thing, and it is not always easy to know if
some new thread that pops up is on the level.  I am sorry if that upsets someone like the OP of this thread
who himself is perhaps only trying to help. If he or anyone wants to help newbies find the best Bitcoin sites and
to avoid scams etc. they are free and welcome to post in that thread.

I like to feel it is not my thread but the community's.

Believe me I have been buying Bitcoin since I heard about them in June 2011...  I don't need the money.   Wink
But I still want to see as many people get into as possible. I firmly believe Bitcoin will change the world in
a very positive way.

Thanks

913  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FREE BITCOIN Sites *and* Free Newbie Lotto on: February 12, 2014, 06:24:30 PM
gambling with bitcoins is pretty dangerous . I am always having one and one only rule, spend only what you can afford to loose when playing for money. However once it happened to me that I have put all in by mistake and didnt noticed that, I have lost whole deposit 160 dollars. Fortunatelly i made that winnings from converted ripples giveaway so my hard earned money was not at risk but because of my mistake I have lost free 160 dollars. So I suggest everybody to pay attention and never play when you are tired. Smiley Good luck people anyway.

For the record this thread does not recommend gambling. But some people do like to do that; it is their free choice. The only gambling sites in the list are ones that give out free Bitcoin with no strings attacked... i.e. one is not required to gamble at their site in order to withdraw the free Bitcoin they get. I don't recommend anyone join any BTC gambling site just to get the small amount of BTC that may be given for free there, but if someone likes gambling and is going to join such sites anyway then the 'gambling' category of this list shows which ones give out free BTC.

@Portnoy I am NOT actually interested to see your post in my thread and it is good if u remove your post from here. Before I say anything about your faucet list, i.e. actually full of referral SPAM, I would like to see your Tx details on blockchain.info which shows u actually paid in last three months for newbie lotto.

It annoys me too... especially how he talks bad about all the free bitcoin website lists.

I have never encountered, malware or what not, on one of these sites.

An occasional scam being promoted, well yeah, it happens..lol  Shocked

He pimps out his thread in every free / earn bitcoin thread he can

with a standardized post warning others to stay away from "copy cat threads and websites".

He takes a holier than thou attitude, about others having only have their own interests at heart,

but then uses the referral links in his thread. I would like to see the winners of that newbie lotto,

probably a way to get the multiple threads bumped, not at all positive, but proof would be nice.  Wink

Having a link to the thread in my sig is pimping?  Having one thread that has maintained and verified links and is watched over by the community and the moderators helps protect newbies from all the scams that take place regularly on these forums and elsewhere. You never encountered malware or any scams? I would suggest you haven't been checking free Bitcoin sites as long as I have.

And about your other point, as I said, I offer the tx details of every newbie bonus draw after each one happens.

915  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free Faucets with Payment proof on: February 12, 2014, 06:09:45 PM
A lot of them do pay out, but when they do it's peanut dust and very rarely worth your time.

None of the sites in the Free Bitcoin Sites thread* pays out dust. The list is checked everyday and If any site has changed and is now paying dust it is quickly spotted and removed from the list.

I don't run any of the sites in the list.

The referrals in the list are not spam. Spam is people posting the same links over and over in different posts through out the forums here. This list has been here for a very long time ( one of the most viewed non-sticky threads on these forums ) and because it is here, and has built up the trust of the moderators and the community, we don't need any more lists of free Bitcoin sites. The list helps keep down the spam of people continually posting their own lists of free Bitcoin sites.

For a long time there were no referrals as part of the list but it was the community that suggested I include them. Many people have expressed their thanks for this list since it helped them get into Bitcoin, and they thought, I suppose, that I should get something for the time I put into maintaining the list. I thought, why not? The very small amount of BTC I get from these referrals goes into the Newbie Bonus draw, as part of the newbie lotto. I post the transaction details of these bonus draws when they happen.

I filled out the captcha and then pressed the "Get some bitcoins!" button.
If some bitcoins were sent, where were they sent?
I was never asked to input a bitcoin address. The only input field I can
see in firefox is for the captcha.  Embarrassed

What site are you talking about?
