901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suggestion: Payment Return Addresses on: April 14, 2013, 01:28:28 AM
You can pull out the "return" address pretty easily with a series of hashing alogrithms, it's nice because it naturally prevents newbies from creating applications that send back automatically similar to how we work.

3) Your forum avatar is transparent.  That means that for those of us who use a dark forum theme it's almost invisible:

If you have javascript enabled the winning number will appear in green at the top of current game assuming current game or next game has any bets in it, otherwise the result number isn't archived and the game will not move, you can't miss it.

As for the hard to see colors I will pass that on to the appropriate people.

I think nobody was playing when I was watching, which would explain why the results weren't appearing.

The avatar is much better now:

Thanks dooglus, if you had not pointed that flaw out would still be incognito to people with a dark forum skin.

If only Zyzz were here to promote Bitcoin Cry

I'm here brah, raving in Miami, riding that bicycle, looking sexy as always, you mirin'?

You can't have a decentralised exchange. Where would you store the flat?

You can't store fiat but you can store debt, you could theoretically create a decentrillized system where debt is being circulated like bitcoins in different currencies, exchanges can pay out the debt.
Almost. But again who is going to make sure the Fiat payment is actually completed?

You could implement functions within every worker to determine whether a transaction is completed or not.

So nobody else is irritated with the lack of development to this site when it has such a bountiful amount of potential? Have the creators / top investors got  holdings in alternate gambling websites, as to make creating themselves as a competition harmful to their own self interest?

Obviously a bit of speculation here, but these moves forward should be a no brainier. The last interface update was the addition of a lurid green header background and now the betting address flashes... yay.

It's not become any more user friendly towards new bitcoin users, nor has it become any more appealing in the sense of fun from a unique gaming/gambling experience.

If you're seriously out of idea's then let the community suggest some to you instead of letting this all just go stagnant.

Honestly why must it be an already existing project that introduces new concepts? Why can't other companies who are also seeking to give to the community introduce new ideas?
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bodybuilding.com Misc forum about Bitcoin on: April 13, 2013, 10:55:16 AM
Lol I'm a Bodybuilding.com member and an early Bitcoin adopter, you know you can enjoy both without adopting either completely, don't understand why people need to play into the stereotype.

You can deal with Bitcoins while being a "shredded kunt m8"
908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you guys down about? The future of Bitcoin never looked so bright! on: April 13, 2013, 10:52:24 AM
People try their best to blame bitcoin for the bubble somehow.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We can never survive through mass adoption without decentralized exchanges on: April 13, 2013, 10:15:43 AM
As long as there is free market the void will be filled by exchanges ran by people eager to contribute to the bitcoin economy.

I do not understand the whole decentralized obsession.

"United we stand, divided we fal"
Yes but I also believe we need a unified & decentralized exchange system for bitcoin that all independent exchanges can run on, if they wish.

Please read through
https://github.com/p2p/bitcoin-exchange
and come with any suggestions you may have for this system.

You can also participate in the discussion at

The proposal in the github readme is not only my ideas, but a summary of the ideas i have read through at bitcoin talk - and my own experience from trading stocks and futures at the "real" exchanges / brokerage firms.

Sounds weirdly similar to what I had in my mind.

My idea basically was that you cannot decentralize fiat currency, but you can decentralize debt, however writing protocols that would do so in a secure manner is mind boggling. If you could establish whether a certain debt has been paid out by the company holding the debt (e.g. Paypal, Banking account, Dwolla etc) you can then establish through which exchange was the debt paid out, throw in a reputation system for the exchanges and you can create individual "workers" that would process the debts in exchange for a fraction of the debts.

Of course the obvious cons are that such a system would ironically lead to the death of bitcoins as they will no longer be needed, or maybe if the centralized banks would continue to fight this would become a system that would solely be used in order to exchange bitcoins for fiat. Exchanges could be automatically shut down from the system if a sufficient amount of debt has not been paid out in a timely manner (e.g. if they are hogging all the debt) so exchanges would be constantly shut down by the goverment. All of this would be based on the same concepts as the bitcoin protocol.

Seems to me they are riding one of the carts on the "decentralized" train uninvited.

What exactly makes them distributed besides them claims so a hundred times through the website?

Has already been done before, absolutely no reason that it will succeed with bitcoins. But good luck to you.

We are the first casino to introduce live feeds and will most likely be the last, I believe that a live feed offers a level of excitement other RNGs simply cannot deliver, best of all payouts are nearly instant and we offer secure and fair play.

That's an interesting alternative to provably fair gaming.

A few comments:

1) I find the red-on-red text somewhat hard to read, here:

2) I've been watching a few spins, but I don't see the spins written anywhere.  Do I have to watch the video to see what numbers come up?  Also, what does "RB(1..36)" mean on the bet that's shown here?

3) Your forum avatar is transparent.  That means that for those of us who use a dark forum theme it's almost invisible:

RB(1..36) means red or black, first number being 1 and the last 36, we can easily establish that the bet is red. I can see how this might be confusing to someone not familiar with roulette so we will probably elaborate on that further in the site.

As for the hard to see colors I will pass that on to the appropriate people.

Thank you for your feedback and for your time dooglus, it is always appreciated.

I have decided to send out 0.002 to any bet regardless of win/loss, just post the transaction here.

I've been playing a little seems to work great so far, pretty addicting.
Very nice and I like the seeing the live feed of the results is a very cool concept.

Thanks guys  Tongue

Pizza Index just crossed 1 million dollars.

Bitcoin Pizza Index = $1,011,173.53

http://www.ounce.me

It keeps going back and fourth from 99.xx to 100...

This is hilariously awesome but also makes me realize how financially established I could have been by now if I had not heeded the advice of those opposing the adaptation of the new Bitcoin currency as an early adopter, could have been sipping cocktails on a private island right now.

I guess it has taught me not to listen to idiots, even if that idiot has a master in finance and wears a fancy suite.

Casinos are another high frequency trading environment where everything needs to be rock solid. If that's the sort of background you have then keep us posted.

The casino is pretty solid, loss of coin, hacking, DDOS, too much traffic too fast etc have all been accounted for. The version is still beta however, should a failed payment occur we will handle it to the best of our ability to resolve the situation as fast as possible.

Once the server throws an exception it is logged and an SMS is sent to my "work" blackberry, so far this hasn't happened once, we do however verify every transaction larger than a set amount of dollars with more than zero confirmations as faking (e.g. double spending) transactions becomes profitable and we fetch the prices from Gox for this purpose, once their server has crashed it has notified us of that and has started using another exchange as a source, this was logged as an unimportant exception which is unworthy of an SMS basically.

You can try the casino yourself, as for the exchange the idea is a little bit different than Gox so I am not going to elaborate on that but security wise we would have to be superior to most commercial banks, e.g. custom written bitcoin server, java powered website, properly encrypted and stored data, someones needs to take control over this billion dollar market.

I feel very happy all those problems are happening now and not later. I think the DDoSers are playing their cards too soon, but this is what you get when the crooks don't have a vision for a long con game and would help people like you invest in a better, proper solution for the network, now or sooner than later.

I am not a player but watching that video feed live was really fun. Maybe you could have live feeds for other sports (horse races, dog races, etc, etc).

That is exactly what we're going to do once we get this going. I've actually caught a fight in the feed once lol.

I think that the cons are also competitive and as time goes by the risk grows for someone else to con the whole network, essentially their own greed is responsible for the early attempts and they were very valuable to us as a community, it has taught us to reflect better on our own actions and to introduce these technologies that have not been needed for a small counterculture community.

yep, time to buy more at rock bottom prices.  I love booms and busts!

Come back 8$/coin prices  Wink

I personally think all the exchanges are being crashed to lower the prices artificially but what do I know right?

"Heard some people claim Bitcoin might be worth 3 mil USD per coin one day, even though it is clearly an exaggeration it makes you think..."

Not if we don't dump those rank amateurs at mt.gox. They are basically running crappier hardware than most solo miners, along with badly written code. What is needed is to have someone who has set up a decent size e.g. stock exchange to design a trading environment that is mostly bullet proof. Those f-wits made the situation 20 times worse than it was.

I am currently making negotiations for establishing an exchange myself. All of the points against gox have been noted. It is only a matter of time until either I myself establish a professional exchange along with my team or someone else will, on the grand scale someone is bound to fill in that void left after gox.
