Since you can restrict to ports, restrict it so that only tcp port 8333 allows incoming and outgoing connections. Prevent them from being able to have connections on any other port. However, the problem with this is with people who use web wallets won't be able to use their wallets, so maybe allow connections to certain ips from port 80, if that is possible.

I do not think it is possible to manually send the messages. Bitcoin core does not have this functionality.

You are mining with the wrong algorithm. In your command you have it mining with scrypt, not sha256.

It is failing because you are sending too little to another address. 111 satoshis is considered dust amounts. Transactions with dust amounts have very low priority for confirmation. Wait a few days, it may confirm.
But i am waiting, have 7 days and nothing.. Can i hope this? As I said above, I think the only thing you can do is to do a double spend so that those two transactions are ignored.

According to the dev who wrote it, the errors I get when trying to run it indicate an old, mismatched python installation. I have 2.7 & 3.x installed & if I try to uninstall 2.7, aptitude wants to delete all sorts of stuff I need.
So my mission right now is to figure out how to make eloipool use the newer version of python in case that helps.
Are you sure you need all of those? Most of those are probably just dependencies for python 2.7 and can be removed. But if you don't want to remove them, instead of using the remove command, use the purge command. Purge will only remove that package, and not the dependencies.

I think you need to copy the config.py.example file to config.py. Then open that file and edit some of it to fit your needs. Everything is explained in comments inside the file. All you really need to change is the address which receives the new Bitcoin and the settings for your local bitcoin daemon for it to run. is the command to run when you want to start it. If that was what you are looking for, you can tip the address in my avatar.

ahh well done sir, excellent - should i presume the address under your avatar is useable ?
yes

the transaction gets dropped after a couple of days if not confirmed. just send it again and include a good fee
Blockchain.info will continuously rebroadcast the transaction. OP, don't use blockchain.info's wallet. They are notorious for screwing things up. Don't use a web wallet. Instead use a desktop wallet like Electrum (if you want lightweight) or Bitcoin Core (for full node security). The problem is not the fee, the fee is high enough. The problem is that output of 111 satoshis. The current dust limit is 546 satoshis so any transaction with an output of less than 546 satoshis (like your test output) will be considered non-standard and be dropped by most nodes and thus will not be included into a block. The only way I can think of to recover this is to do a double spend. Send a different transaction using the same inputs for both transaction 1 and 2 then send them to another address but with outputs that have more than 546 satoshis. Make sure you include a good fee (default usually works)

I'm fairly certain that you need to include the -prune flag in the bitcoind command when you start the node, not as a bitcoin-cli command. Instead, run bitcoind -daemon -prune=550 to start bitcoind.

Sorry, but no one will do that for you. There are some ways that you can get it confirmed though.
Option 1: Close your client and wait for several days for the transaction to be "forgotten" by the network and then send it again. If you use Bitcoin core, you can delete the transaction from your wallet using either the zapwallettxs command or pywallet.
Option 2: Attempt a CPFP transaction. If one of the outputs of that transaction is to an address you control, send another transaction that spends those coins from the output and include a larger fee. That fee should be paying for both this new transaction and the current unconfirmed transaction. Broadcast the transaction to the network and directly to Eligius (the only mining pool that does CPFP so far) through their pushtx portal.

but guys anyone know if genesis-mining.com is scam? It seems a bit suspicious with lifetime plan
This thread should help https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0. You should use some of the stuff in it to help you determine whether cloud mining sites are legit. It says that genesis-mining is probably legit. But again, you can't know for sure, so please be careful with your money.

as you said you have $60 in paypal,i don't think any cloud mining site will accept paypal as it is easy to reverse
eobot does, but I question their legitimacy. If you use paypal, they don't allow you to withdraw any earnings for 180 days. yes that's may be because paypal transactions can be charged back upto 45 days but i don't understand why they have 180 days for withdraw..Is eobot really a legit site mate? Eobot has been around for a long time, so it may be legit. However, it is hard to tell since they are not very transparent. It is possible that they could turn out to be a scam like several other sites that were around for a while did.

I would not recommend doing any cloud mining since the vast majority of cloud mining sites are scams. They claim to be cloud mining but are really just ponzi scams and at some point will run away with your money. There are a few legitimate ones, one of which is hashnest, which I have heard is one of the best.

Start with the bitcoin whitepaper bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf then check out the documentation on bitcoin.org. if you want some more in depth stuff, look at the code docs dev.visucore.com/bitcoin/doxygen/ and for a lot of detailed stuff, take a look at the actual source code Github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin

Can this affect the network in any way?
Most of the hashrate is in china. If china were to someone block the miners from connecting to the network, that could be disastrous since we would be losing over half of the hashrate

how is calculate potential activity? i am little confused with this. i have 456 posts, and activity 126 also and potential activity 126 now i see @mallard have higher activity from potential_activity, earlier i am see that some member have account with 120 activity, and 196 potential_act. with 350 posts.. do not understand nothing You can earn 14 potential activity for every two week period that you have posted in.

also! everyone who donates 5 Dollar+ will get their name launched to space with the Cubesat Just five dollars to get your name launched into the orbit? Count me in! But, I don't really see how that would be possible to write everyones name on the satellite... I would feel you would have probably 200+ names to write on a satellite that doesn't seem that big to begin with. Write it in 1pt font Or we could put it in a text file on the raspberry pi.

Really good question. Also a mobile app would be great too.
A mobile app does exist, but it hasn't been updated in years and kinda sucks. I am actually trying to write my own Android app but first I am asking the writer of the other app for his source code so I can update, fix, and maintain it.

For some reason my activity is higher than my potential activity? User Id: 509719 Name: mallard Posts: 439 Activity: 126 Potential Activity: 98
It is not just you that you have been faced with this, it is almost a bug and OP has been notified before. He says that he was rying to fix it but he had not time it is a little hard to find. I'm pretty sure that that bug exists in both my site and the other potential activity counter site. Even doing a manual count returns the same potential activity. I think it is actually a forum bug since I am pulling the activity straight off of the profile page.
