Why we are not on mintpal,we dont want to?

Mintpal is irrelevant. Bittrex is the only decent exchange, so why bother.

Hi everyone! Ok, so I read the white paper. Do I understand rightly that at some point in the near future we will be back to mining and that the coin will be call stealthsend? And will mining start with a very high difficulty so that the block times stay pretty constant at 6 minutes or is there another way to control that such a gravity wave, etc. ? Also, is the change from stealth coins to stealthsend coins going to be similar to what Phoenixcoin did by everyone sending them to bittrex and they do the swap or another method I didn't understand. The chance to gain a few more coins through mining makes me happy since I only came out of the original run with a few hundred coins. I can't wait to see where we go from here!

No it looks like it will be two different coins with a conversion between them by burning 1-to-1.

I am going to disagree with Hondo. Big time. But not only the "stat" is a complete fallacy (contrary to his opinion, the overwhelming majority of established coins do stake 50-80% or more of their float) the MOST important factor is that a coin that only stakes 20-25% is EXTREMELY vulnerable to a successful -and fatal, for it means the end of the coin- "double spending" attack. Better known as a "51% attack". For instance: If only 2 million Stealthcoin stake, anyone with much less than 2 million coins can carry out a successful attack. Even Owning "only" 1.6 million. Anything above that increases the speed of the success in the attack and, obviously, 2 million and one coin guarantees the success of the attack on first try. That means the immediate end of the coin. That's why it is so important that the  staking is as high as possible, at least above the 50% threshold.

But, according to Hondo's fallacy, then Stealthcoin doesn't provide 20% interest (or POS benefit) but much less in fact since the figure of 20% is reached under the false pretenses and calculations exposed above, the real figure -the one written in the code- is much lower, at -I imagine- 5%. Still quite crazy and impossible to sustain with time. Obviously Stealthcoin has not been designed with any idea of future, beyond the P&D phase.

To illustrate the situation I will offer the example of a similar coin -in figures-, Vericoin. It has just under 27 million coins. When 8 million of those were stolen from Mintpal a few weeks back, the devs were forced to fork the blockchain to the time previous to the theft, thus invalidating it. Otherwise, the coin was destroyed since 8 million coins were close to 100% of all the coins staking, therefore the attack would be almost immediately successful, if not at the first try. Vericoin, atm has a steady rate of staking -at much lower levels than 5% interest, less than half that in fact- of 15-20 million of it's total of 26.7 million coins.

It seems that you don't understand still. If you check the actual inflation rate of any coin versus the interest rate THAT'S IN THE CODE, you'll see that the inflation is much less than the interest rate.

No one is hiding anything, troll. That's just what happens. I am very diligent about staking my coins, and I get maybe only 70-80% of the stated interest rate. I do things like reboot my computer, etc., and forget to re-launch wallets. And so on. It's hard to stake coins. It takes as much work as mining almost, but without all the electricity.

Most users don't bother at all. Like you, they put their coins on an exchange and forget about them. Users don't bother staking because STAKING TAKES WORK and it's too much trouble to move them on and off an exchange and then they lose age whent that happens. Users don't upgrade wallets, exchanges don't stake their hot wallets, etc. etc. etc.

You can argue all you want, but if you don't want to sound like a windbag troll fudster, support your position with some analysis for god's sake.

edit; So Boolberry already jointed the BitcoinDark network just like Vericoin. It's sound to me all these dying coins want jl777 to help during his hype. This Supernet and all the coins soon deem to be useless just like multigate by jl777, there is no reason for it but hassle to install another wallet. The purpose of Supernet and Multigate is to decentralized and bypass from real exchange but that is not going to be possible. You can't put real money in or exchange coins for real money in a decentralized wallet, to get money in/out then you would need to move these coins to real exchange anyway. There is no reason to install a useless wallet when you can do this over real exchange. If it don't broke don't fix it. [...]

No wonder you are cynical. You get burned because you don't read.

LOL. I probably have the money you lost.

If only 10-20% stakes, the blockchain is not secure at all and can be easily and successfully attacked... furthermore, why would people not stake when they can make 20% for sure? That makes no sense...

It doesn't matter what makes sense. What matters is what actually happens.

That is indeed a "convincing" argument... Good luck with your investment in Stealthcoin.

Thank you for your well-wishes, but honestly I don't need them. My investment is up about 2000%.

Just one question: How is this coin going to support annual inflation of 20%?

That's the APR on staked coins, not the inflation. The inflation is much lower.

Please teach me what you mean. The staking is 20% on 20M coins that 4M a year or 250K a month.

So what do you mean?

EDIT: Oh you mean because not all coins are staked that the inflation is lower?

Exactly. Only something like 20-25% are staked of any coin. So the true inflation is about 4-5%. I read about this on another coin (SSD), but it comes from Hondo. He thinks about stuff like this.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=730844.msg8343688#msg8343688

Quote
A far better written explanation of Earnings and Losses of PoS Stakeholders than I had. Care of Hondo.

Typically only about 25% of the money supply for a given Proof-of-Stake (PoS) coin is subject to continuous staking. This "fractional staking" leads to (1) gains for those who stake (minters) and (2) losses for those who don't (non-minters). Fractional staking therefore results in wealth transfer from non-minters to minters because inflation of the money supply is lower than it would be if the entirety of the money supply were continuosly staked.

To understand how wealth is transferred, it is helpful to quantify wealth as an individual's ownership of the total money supply of a given coin. For example, if an individual holds 1000 coins of a money supply of 100,000, then the individual's wealth is quantified as 1%.

The following example uses a 20% APY as an example because this value typically leads to a reasonable inflation rate of about 5% per year, given that all coins are subject to approximately the same fractional staking of 25%.

Note the following values:
  • Total money supply after 1 year: 105% (5% inflation)
  • Relative number of coins after one year for a minter: 120% (20% APY)
  • Relative number of coins after one year for a non-minter: 100%

Using these values, the relative wealth of a minter after one year is 114% (120% / 105%). In other words, a minter who stakes continuously grows wealth at the rate of 14% per year. Thus, a minter of a coin with a 20% APY doesn't just keep up with inflation, but beats it by 14%!

On the other hand, a non-minter loses wealth over time. After a year, a non-minter's total coins is 100% of what it was at the beginning of the year. Therefore, a non-minter's drops to 95.2% during this time, losing wealth at the rate of 5% per year.

It is also possible to calculate a non-minter's losses in terms of forgone profits, which is 19.7% ([114% - 95.2%] / 95.2%). Thus, a non-minter could have nearly 20% more wealth if they had staked their coins ([114% - 95.2%] / 95.2%). Not coincidentally, these lost profits are approximately equal to the nominal APY.

Damn someone just ate threw that 2.5 btc buy wall at 800 satoshi! Not much resistance for a ways up Cheesy

Oh man. That's what I get for procrastinating logging into bittrex. That 3 BTC sell wall is gone. I was going to take a bite out of that sucker. I had my phone here and everything.

Other notable aspects about this dev:

The big question is why aren't we at the moon yet? Roll Eyes Cool
This coin is one of the best out at the moment, yet it has hardly any attention.. I don't get it?  Huh

It's just that.  It doesn't have any marketing/hyping types.  I'm not sure if that's so bad, but we need to do some guerilla marketing.  Hit up the Poloniex and Cryptsy troll boxes if possible.

Once we get on the first page of coinmarketcap, more people will take a look.  That will take another 50% value increase or so.

^

The dev here is a different kind. He treats this coin like a first born. Clueless about marketing though. Someone should help.

Drop 3 BTC into this one and set up a marketing arm. It will be 15 BTC before you know it. I've dropped the BTC and I would do marketing, but that's not really anything I know about.

any news here?

Yes. You've come to the right place.

This is the most anonymous coin. And it has one of the best networks. It's probably the most technically solid too. This is a dev from XST, but he's way more attentive to technical details than Hondo from XST, who tends to let things go and focus on hi tech stuff like stealth text.

One example, this one has leveldb and the latest tor, XST doesn't, and so on.

I've been following this one from the beginning. It's solid and starting to pave way in innovation too. Time vortex is stealth addresses. Combine that with tor, and you've got the best anon. Period.

People buy coins at 1k and sell at 7k. Still 700% profit. Keep buying and keep making the whales rich.

I bought at 350.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

...And I'm done buying my SSD.

Here's me making a similar post in the SSD thread in a few weeks:

One hour by my calculation.

Bought 60k last night at 749. Coin looks very promising, and dev seems very competent at what he's doing. Glad to be on board

What people don't realize is the level to which this dev has already delivered. SSD is promising because it is hugely undervalued right now, not because the dev has promised things. It has tor+stealth addresses. That combination makes it the most anonymous of all coins at the moment. I'd say the price was a joke, but that would be an understatement.

That's the complete opposite of most coins today.

So this is now a POW coin?

No, but you are obviously illiterate.
