How will the stake be distributed ?   Huh Huh

And I found the website is mainly another coin Noirbits.
So NRS is developed by the same team. And what's the difference?

Please forgive me as I'm a noob.  I don't know what is Momentum algo. Can you show any intro ?

Momentum is a memory hard PoW algorithm Embarrassedhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxCtiOzdwvPySmFFWWZDZ3M4Skk/edit?usp=sharing

It was introduced by DANIEL LARIMER also known as bytemaster of Invictus Innovations, it is used by Protoshares in a purely PoW implementation. Freetrade was the first to adapt into a working code in PTS and MMC 2.0. Those implementations are PoW an rely heavily on network hash power to secure the network and keep transactions moving. NoirShares on the other hand uses a Hybrid PoW/PoS system that splits network dependency on hash power greatly as the chain matures.

The typical PoW system is susceptible to double spend attacks if an individual or group holds 51% or more of the total hash power. By introducing stake blocks that are not based on brute hash speed but on what you already hold in your wallet in the mix, it makes it nearly impossible to perform a 51% attack on the chain. See the first post for more details.

you gain your own stake. If you keep coins in your wallet they will gain more.

It has 7 day minimum stake age and 14 day full weight.

I need mine the coin at first. Right?
And is there any IPO to sell stakes?

No there will be no sales before launch, if you wish to be a long term investor, the long term investment options will be opened after a few days once the Network begins to stabilize and most new miners are settled and comfortable.

If you sign up for the forum, you'll see updates earlier.

I've seen a few that used escrow but they are soldout/closed.  I'm short on trust, willing to build it with someone as they prove they can deliver. All i need is a seller who accepts escrow
927  Bitcoin / Group buys / Looking for a group buy ASIC on: February 14, 2014, 01:08:12 AM
Looking for a group buy from someone shipping worldwide hopefully within the week. I strictly use escrow, i'm a group buy noob/virgin.

Preferably gridseed dual miners (5) or one of these +200 gh BTC units.

WTB ONC 0.001 for 0.01 BTC, will buy smaller amounts also

This coin was always fun because it forced people to deal with metric prefixes.  The coin's settings let you change which metric prefix you use -- very useful.

I just synced up and took a look at the blockchain.  There are 162846 blocks mined, each with at most .50 μONC (micro-ONC) rewarded.  (Early blocks ramped up slowly and had less).   So the total mined cannot be more than (162846) * (.50) (μONC) = 81423 μONC = .081423 ONC.  So, if my math is right, you seek to buy roughly 1/81 of all ONC mined for .01 BTC.

It would be a hoot if this coin made a comeback.  It was certainly more innovative that its contemporaries.

Since everyone's talking about onecoin again, I updated the charts on cryptometer.org.  It only had 11 days of data before.  Now it has 35 weeks:

http://cryptometer.org/onecoin_96_hour_charts.html (First 96 hours)
http://cryptometer.org/onecoin_90_day_charts.html (First 90 days)
http://cryptometer.org/onecoin_104_week_charts.html (All 35 weeks)

Looks like there is about 0.083 ONC out there total.

great work, if we have more activity, we can begin pushing this super rare coin onwards, i've sorted out the code issue and will step aside for a while as i focus on getting on NRB and NRS, pm me if this coin needs help.
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ONC] Onecoin - CPU only - Pools opened! on: February 13, 2014, 02:22:42 PM
Yeah was a very fair release with a very good dev.  However the decimal places proved to be an issue.

The One Coin is a very nice concept though and most people would like a bit for their crypto portfolio.   I didn't know you  could still mine it.

I asked the dev why it need to have 18 decimal places, since 42 does not. However it seems 42 will need to have 18 in the future.

i could modify the code to fix that, remove tx fees. and make it rounder but who will support it?

The block reward is still 0.0000005 and won't halve for another 3 years, could survive just fine with no transaction fees for now.

And unless the network gets uber-fuckhuge, most miners shouldn't have an issue with accumulating at least 0.00000001 quickly enough to be able to transfer it to market.

Only issue I could see is past miners who happen to have an odd amount of onecoin not being happy with you rounding away the last 10 decimal places worth of their coins.  Seeing as this coin was never traded much and never hit an exchange, that has to be a relatively low amount of miners though.  I don't know coding, but perhaps can you modify the client so you can only send and receive coins with a precision of 8 decimal places for now, but be sure the scraps in the last 10 decimal places simply remain locked up until a later date when it is feasible to switch back to 18 decimal places?

i'll think on it, but someone else will have to support, my plate is full.

i bet lol

this forum should have a list of users and all their names they have used all coins they have been involved with making etc
who you guys think would be on the top ?

hehehe, are you asking us to expose all your backroom dealings?

NoirShares-beta (Product of NIG)

NoirShares is the first hybrid Momentum PoS/PoW crypto. Momentum algo has proven qualities which make reduce GPU mining advantages significantly.

The combination momentum Proof of Work with a Proof of stake implementation serves to guard against 51% attacks. 51% attacks are situations where a person or group holds hash power equivalent to 51% or more of total network hash. This allows them to double spend their shares through a first spend then overwritting the valid block chain with their own longer block chain. Proof-of-stake block generation reduces the risk of 51% attacks because the cost of acquiring 51% of all stake would be much higher due to having to buy at least 51% of all shares in existence, that and the cost of acquiring 51% of all mining power makes the cost of attempting and attack prohibitive if not down right imposiible as the price per share will rise as people notice the demand. In some cases other miners and traders will halt sales just to wait out for the highest price, thusly making it even more complicated and nigh impossible to achieve 51% control. In a 51% stake attack the attacker's investment would be directly at risk of losing value. By contrast, with a 51% mining attack on a pure PoW implementation  the attacker would still own the mining hardware which could either be sold or used to mine a different cryptocurrency following the attack.

These measures serve to secure the network also in that users are inclined to keep their nodes online in order to generate stake.

As proof-of-work blocks become less rewarding, coin generation becomes increasingly based on proof-of-stake block generation which in of it's own is energy efficient and requires less resources. Thus protecting the chain from attackers becomes far less expensive.

NoirShares Features and Parameters

Doubles as both currency and equity for the NIG group.

80 shares per block initially

~ 5 million coins will be produced via PoW

5% block reward reduction every 3000 blocks

Minumum Stake age is 7 days, full age 14 days

Tx fees are 0.01 NRS are destroyed in an attempt at aggresively countering inflation due to mining and stake

As the chain progresses and transitions to relying more on PoS blocks, it becomes highly energy efficient in comparison to pure PoW coins. This weaning of reliance on high powered machines encourages the average user to be able to have a functioning node that if used properly can be profitable.

Launch date estimate --- 15/02/14

ok, i'm doing it now. I'll also be removing the tx fee, the reward is low already, no need for fees.

How could you make sure no bad man to spam the whole network, by mean of no fees?

lol, he'd have to be incredibly stupid, by removing the decimals i have already assured that the limit is 0.00000001...so to spam people he'll be sending quite a chunk of his coin considering how rare they are.

could he send coins between his own two addresses, back and forth for millions of times?

he would still be limited by the rarity of this coin.

add and EQ reward and call it 1+1 coin.

no but seriously add an EQ - it would make sense considering you are changing the decimal places -

send me a pm with more dats, if it's feasible i'll try it out, but if it's revolutionary, i'll put it into one of the 5th gen alts i'm working on.

So to clear this up.  There is no reason to use escrow with sushi and this is not a self moderated topic.

i still plan/want to use escrow with sushi (i barely trust anyone with these amounts of cash) and yes it isnt a self moderated topic

i too would feel more comfortable with escrow, he seems to have a good rep, but i'd like to build my own trust, this is after all my first time  Tongue  be gentle....  Wink
