941  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why no dump? on: July 02, 2015, 12:43:57 PM
I think a major price fluctuation is happening due to Greece default hype. The fluctuation is usually high during the weekends and a little stable during the mid week. I think it is nice that the price seems to be a little stable, let the weekend happen, I think there might be rise in price. Lets hope for best
942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stocks fall globally as Greek talks collapse on: July 02, 2015, 12:32:16 PM
In the currency market, the euro rose 0.15% against the U.S. dollar, moving to $1.1284 and recovering from an earlier low of $1.1188. The U.S. dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies, fell 0.21%. The yen was flat against the dollar.

EUR/USD 1.10

When I used to say "we'll see euro and dollar parity during our lifetimes" I was told I was crazy, but it seems it will take way less than expected at this pace. Next stop: proving im not crazy by saying we'll see 5 figures if not more per BTC during our lifetimes.

I hope whatever you say does go down, but can you please elaborate about how you reached to your point of speculation about the bitcoin price value? I'd like to understand your perspective Smiley
943  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: July 02, 2015, 12:30:43 PM
I think it will be around 3000$ only, not as much as 10,000$. It needs hype throughout 10 years to slide up to 10k per btc. If however, the bitcoin does slide to TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS, I would be the happiest person and LIVE LIKE A BOSS Wink
944  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is the dead cat? on: July 02, 2015, 12:29:02 PM
A lot of people (investors) have been waiting for the price to drop, so it's a good time to start buying again.

Yes, its a good time to buy as bitcoin has been a little 'in-hype' because of all the Greece default drama and all those fools thinking bitcoin can be the savior here and rescue the nation. Regardless of that, Greece cannot be saved anymore. Its doom is here. After a couple months, the price will slide up and stay high for a while so its a good time to invest now!
945  Economy / Speculation / Re: The next bubble could well surprise even the early traders... on: July 02, 2015, 12:26:57 PM
Yeah, I think one of the biggest advantages we now have may be the sheer mass of people with a lot of money lying around watching Bitcoin to see if it bubbles again at some point. If it does, they will enter. Just wait for a trend-reversal...

It is a beautiful cycle, in its own way. People get attracted to bitcoin as the price rises and quickly invest in it, giving it even more rise. This rise keeps happening as trade expands and people seem to use bitcoin adopting the currency. The trend reversal takes place and a lot of money is poured in, the hype is important. The constant hype bitcoin gets, the better it grows, the bigger it expands!
946  Economy / Economics / Re: Did Bitcoin Ruin Your Life, Or Help Your Life? on: July 02, 2015, 12:19:03 PM
I wouldn't say I know how it feels but I can understand your pain and I empathize with you. I have had similar setbacks with bitcoin but really, really profitable deals too. I have been trading bitcoins from 2 years and I have never let any other company fuck around my bitcoins, they have always stayed safe inside my wallet with my love and attention. Faucets have always been shitty and I have tried gambling twice, lost huge twice. Since then, I only trade and manage my finances.
947  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis, then opportunity. on: July 02, 2015, 12:14:42 PM
Wanna make a quick million?  Here's how:

Greece is going to be VERY Euro hungry for the next 3 months.  Fly to Athens with a big bag of cash.  All Greek people having relatives in foreign lands (with bank accounts) can send you bitcoin.  You pay their relatives in Euros.  This remittance operation would be insanely busy in about 5 days.  You'd need a courier and body guard each day flying in with new cash.

Instant millionaire.

Although you have a highly vivid imagination ,it is very impractical and futile. Also it is not a foolproof plan. There is a lot of infirmity and it may lead to failure. Also , the availability of   all the  things you need for this scam is very  inferior.

I think that if there is a will, there is a way. Maybe if he has the money, he can get his own personal jet to fly. He can then hire 3 trusted people to distribute money with him on the down low. Having body guards is a nice idea but I am not that kind of a guy who will trust any body guard, I would rather ask my homies to take a part in this operation. We target one city per day and keep travelling in our own car and deal from inside the vehicle itself.

I have never thought of making money out of a crisis, I don't think I would stand by the idea of doing it. However, if this has to be performed legally, I would love to be involved. Maybe with the help of bitcoin org we can set up exchange centers for currency and provide them recharge cards which can be accepted by the stores and other places of spendings. These vendors can transfer their money anytime with the btc they receive.
948  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin really save Greece? on: July 02, 2015, 12:10:02 PM
Bitcoin has surpassed that point where it could have been saved and rescued, right after they made the default. The shit has hit the fans now.
Bitcoin cannot help Greece now, it could have helped smart ass Greeks who saw this coming and invested/transferred their money to bitcoins rather than let it get trapped in the bank and be screwed like this. Bitcoin cannot help Greece in any way now, not in a way to escape their doom.
949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't Buy Bitcoin. It's Going To Crash!!! on: July 01, 2015, 04:22:31 PM
Everytime it has crashed, it has sprung up too. So basically you're telling a person who wants 'tails' in a coin toss, to not toss the coin as he may be bound to receive 'heads' side of the coin. He will get the tail side of the coin too, my friend. If it crashes, it will boom up ahead. There are a LOT of such videos on the internet and I would still buy btc regardless.
950  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: July 01, 2015, 04:14:18 PM
HODLOR! HODLOR!

GAMES OF THRONES REFERENCE. NICE. I like this post and how the guy has taken the efforts to write down his shit and express his emotions while having his whiskey. Accepting things which no sober man would, I did have a smile on my face while going through his writings on his moments of despair. The best line however would be,'Sue me...only if it is payable in btc'.
951  Economy / Economics / Re: Nearly 70% of Bitcoin users earn less than $100,000 annually - Coindesk on: July 01, 2015, 04:03:20 PM
100,000$ is a substantially huge amount for a lot of people. Earning it per year could mean a fortune for people in third world countries, even a lot of people in U.S cannot afford that kind of money every year. Most of the people who use bitcoin are young people or people really sharp with tech skills. Not everybody is a well settled man earning well. Some people are just young, unemployed and still, future millionaires.

Yes, it indeed is a huge amount in the U.S too. Making money isn't so easy and having a source which gives you 100k$ a year is HUGE. Most of the bitcoin users are young and also, are monetarily decent earners. I would agree that not everybody here is rich but not everybody here is poor either. There are a lot og geniuses in this community and potential millionaires too.
952  Economy / Economics / Re: Greeks are rushing to Bitcoin on: July 01, 2015, 03:50:24 PM
I don't believe that the Greeks would rush to bitcoin, it is not a profitable venture for them according to their euro affair. They have been trying to fix their situation with debts, something in which the price of euro played a significant part. The price of euro is higher than how Greece needs it to be, pushing them in debt. Investing in a currency which will multiply by 50 times right after they adopt it itself, would doom the nation before it could save it.
953  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin rally on the back of Greece is bogus. on: July 01, 2015, 03:37:08 PM
Greeks probably won't be buying many extra BTC (in absolute terms), people from other countries are because of this Greek crisis, especially people from countries also in problems in the Euro zone.

Obviously greeks would not be able to buy extra btc, yes in the absolute terms... People are buying bitcoin thinking Greek will adopt bitcoin. That's some bullshit, Greek will never adopt bitcoin, it will fight till it dies out hoping to get the euro power. If Greek printed their own money, they would never land themselves in such a trouble. They would print themselves out of this shit.
954  Economy / Economics / Re: DailyMail : Greeks rushing to buy Bitcoins as the country considers taking drast on: July 01, 2015, 03:33:28 PM
Greeks are not rushing to buy bitcoins at all, and why would they even? You think they would adopt bitcoin as their economy? For what? Why would a person risk their savings right now and lose them as price keeps fluctuating? Who would invest all of their money in something like this? They are going through all this as they are unable to pay debt as it is higher than the price of the euro. You think they will invest in bitcoin which will be bound to increase its price value by 55 times just after Greece decides to adopt it? BULLSHIT.
955  Economy / Economics / Re: Puerto Rico Bankruptcy on: July 01, 2015, 03:29:42 PM

Puerto Rico’s governor, saying he needs to pull the island out of a “death spiral,” has concluded that the commonwealth cannot pay its roughly $72 billion in debts, an admission that will probably have wide-reaching financial repercussions.

The tax revenue is going to pay off old debts, it is not going to provide current services. Thus the more of your budget that you dedicate to debt repayment, the worse the value proposition that you are delivering to your territory's residents and businesses. The harder Puerto Rico squeezes, in  the more its economy suffers. But the more the Puerto Rican economy suffers, the harder it is for Puerto Rico to pay back its debts. In other words: death spiral.
956  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: July 01, 2015, 03:23:39 PM
European and Asian leaders will respond with the only weapon they have left: monetary inflation. They’ll cut interest rates and buy dollars with their currencies, flooding the world with euros and yen the way the U.S. now floods the world with dollars. The result of these “competitive devaluations” will be a death spiral for all major fiat currencies, in which European and Japanese bonds will, eventually, fare as badly as their U.S. cousins.

Perfect answer. ALTHOUGH, the big question that is generally not being discussed is: The day after the crash (and thereafter), what will be the currency that is used to buy few munchies, purchase some alcohol and chips , a tank of petrol, a meal at a restaurant? Obviously, the effect will be immediate and will be on a national level in each impacted country, affecting everyone.
957  Economy / Economics / Re: What to buy.. what to buy.. on: June 30, 2015, 11:58:25 AM
Assuming you have a capital of 500,000$, I would invest that capital as the following:

1) 25% investment in gold, bonds, etc.

2) 50% investment in assets such as real estate.

3) 25% investment in bitcoin.
958  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy vs EARTH how will be the future? on: June 30, 2015, 11:56:16 AM
People having an argument stating that technology has destroyed the earth is so ridiculous, wrong use of machinery for greed has destroyed the earth. Besides, there have been tech projects being developed/already in use to save the environment and protect the biosphere. Stopping ourselves from using technology doesn't sound so bright either.
959  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans are getting stronger. Twenty years ago, ... on: June 30, 2015, 11:53:23 AM
yes, this is why I stick myself to non-inflation currency called bitcoin.) I hope that others will also realize, how those central banks, manipulating with exchanges and endless inflations harming them..
this is true and for me the electronic age of money isn't about internet banking and stuff like that it is about a brand new currency all together that is bitcoins it is great thing to happen to our generations economy and it needs more exposure

A smart way for bitcoin to get exposure would be to that it is something which os often talked about. Regardless of media attention and events like greece happening, we should also make a point to talk about it on an individualistic level. Change starts at home. Enlighten people about bitcoin!
960  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens to Bitcoin when free energy is available? on: June 30, 2015, 11:48:58 AM
I think it might be the end of the world and bitcoin dooms with it too, as we all go the same direction.
