941  Economy / Services / Re: Anonymous PayPal accounts on: April 06, 2013, 12:08:32 AM
Great post!

There is nothing illegal about lying to PayPal. They lie to their customers all the time. They are not a bank, they are not a governmental entity, therefore there is no legal ramifications that come along with using "stealth accounts." The most that will happen is they will find out you are using one if you are sloppy, then they will suspend your account.

From July 2007, PayPal has operated across the European Union as a Luxembourg-based bank.

I don't live in the EU buddy. Maybe I should havce specified- PayPal isn't a bank in the US.

Anyway, you are clearly trying to jack the OP's thread and push your CryptCard.

945  Economy / Services / Re: Anonymous PayPal accounts on: April 04, 2013, 06:57:08 PM
People in here are a bit confused as to the legality of this. Let me clear it up...

What the OP is selling is useful and completely legal. Anyone who has ever been limited or has had funds frozen by PayPal knows this would be a useful service. PayPal freezes the funds of SEVERAL legitimate merchants anytime they want to just because they can, then they hide behind bs excuses to justify holding your funds for 6 months.

As long as you are not stealing/getting ssn you are completely fine. The idea behind the products the OP is selling is that the info is not stolen from anyone, but it is created/custom made. There is actually a whole community based upon using PayPal's & eBay services after they have shut you down. These people were thriving, making good money selling items on ebay or elsewhere until PayPal shut them down and stopped their income for nonsense. They will actually limit your account just because they don't like to see you transfer a lot of money outside of PayPal. True story.

Although, with all that being said, the bitcointalk forums may not be the best place to sell this type of service. Most people here have pretty much dismissed PayPal as a viable money service, and rightfully so. BTC >>>>>>>> PayPal and it's not even close. I personally cannot wait until consumers realize this.

Lastly, for all of you who say "If you don't like PayPal don't use it," is only a scenario that would happen in a perfect world. If you are an online merchant, especially an eBay seller, you know that most customers are brainwashed into thinking PayPal is the best option. In fact, eBay makes it damn near impossible yo use anything but PayPal.

Anyway, rock on OP. Hope you get some accounts sold.
946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone have fundamentals to support a higher value on BTC? on: April 04, 2013, 03:49:32 AM
Before Fiat currency, money was based on Gold.  I believe that change happened in 1973 and dollars didn't rise at this rate before then.  Gold is a limited resource like BTC.  Why is BTC expected to rise soon to $1000 or $10000 when limit currencies have not behaved that way in the past?  A good article I found today on why these speculation based rises actually will more likely hurt Bitcoin as viable currency than help.  Bitcoin is going from currency to commodity it seems at the moment.  I'll be happier if it goes back to being more of a currency again.

http://blogs.reuters.com/felix-salmon/2013/04/03/why-bitcoins-rise-is-nothing-to-celebrate/

I so totally agree with you here.

Places like bitcoinstore scratch the surface of what the economy really needs.

How can BTC flourish as a currency when it is currently not being used as such? All speculative projects aside, what do we REALLY have to spend BTC on? When I say we, I refer to the public, not us coin-nerds.

I'm talking about important services and everyday tangible goods. These are what we lack at-the-moment. The general public is not spending money on VPN subscriptions and Bitcoin t-shirts.

updated OP.

Bet you 50 LTC this does not happen.
948  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10K per 1BTC at the year-end? on: April 04, 2013, 02:50:03 AM
I think you guys are a tad touched in the dome.
949  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc crashing, the great sell off has begun on: April 04, 2013, 02:48:32 AM
OMG not again, another of this stupid posts!!!

the btc sell off was triggered by MTGox sucking ass at protecting their website from DOS attacks and whatever other mismanagement they incurred into.
newbies will panic and sell and smart buyers will get cheap coins.
This is not a sell off due to lack of price support or any other stupid technicalities other than ineptitude from MTGox.
We'll see bitcoin in 150 again by the end of the week if not sooner.

But isn't this type of thing exactly what makes "outsiders" scared to invest? If I am new to btc and thinking of buying I would have some major concerns after hearing of attacks. The severity of each individual attack is unimportant really- the connotation of the word ATTACK is enough to turn someone off. And lets be totally real- it isn't an outstanding BTC economy that is driving the price up. It is precisely the people who I refered to in the first sentence.

Just a thought.

951  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I buy and Sell for PAYPAL !! Get over it. on: March 25, 2013, 04:32:15 PM
Sure I know about that. I sell on ebay for a living and have done so for the last five years. i know all of the games that are played on ebay.
There are ways to prevent that from happening. I would highly recommend that you be very careful selling btc on ebay, it is very easy to be scammed.
I have seen lots of sellers come and go because of fraud.

Now to your real point...am I the one messing with your ebay ads? No..asshole

A couple names come to mind but I have no idea who is messing with you.

Whoa there. Pretty quick to call me an ass hole for asking an innocent question to a fellow BTC salesman on eBay.

And I know the risks associated with eBay/PayPal buddy. I can assure you I have made more money than you. I have seen your listing northoutboards. But you have no clue who I am.

I can teach you a few things, but I wont.

Thanks for you assurance that you have made more money than me. I guess we will never know because you are operating in darkness. i have my name associated with my account and if you want credibility from me you will need to do the same. I dont know who you are and dont really care but I doubt that you would be able to teach me shit.

Why would I need credibility from you?
952  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I buy and Sell for PAYPAL !! Get over it. on: March 25, 2013, 04:13:15 PM
Seriously there are people in this thread that have no idea what they are talking about.

You can quote PayPal TOS all day long. Fact of the matter is anyone who has ever done SERIOUS sales with PayPal has experienced some bs in the past. Whether it be BTC or not, PayPal does what they want to do. Most of the shit they do has no rhyme or reason.

Yes, they generally side with buyers in most cases.
Yes, they can freeze your money whenever they like for no real reason.
Yes, their reps are unhelpful idiots.

And finally...YES, using PayPal to sell BTC will eventually get you shut down. You may be minimizng your risk by limiting who can buy from you on ebay or wherever you may sell, but you are also minimizing your profits.

Someone who sells BTC on eBay is knocking out the competition by using shell accounts.

These low to zero feedback users all of a sudden buy your listing but they never pay. Then you hear nothing from them even after sending messages. All in an attempt to take your listing off of the market and use up your monthly selling limit.

Then that leaves the market wide open for them.

Sublime, would you know anything about this?
955  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - Coinabul owe me 81btc on: March 11, 2013, 08:18:36 AM
This is tough all around. No one wants to give up money plain and simple.

BUT, with that being said, Coinabul really has to see the bigger picture. This is a fourm of Bitcoin users. Last time I checked we were their target market. Why would you come here and make your company look undesirable in front of hundreds of potential customers?

Most would agree that this could have been handled differently.
956  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: "Free electricity" for "everyone" on: February 07, 2013, 07:53:06 AM
Why not just rent cheap motel rooms and bring surge protectors? Even better, rent out an extended stay room with weekly rates. Hop around every week so they don't start to notice the ridiculous power usage. Just go on a mining spree for like a month.
Let's say you can pull 5000 watts from a hotel room. (You might be able to pull more depending on if the A/C unit is hardwired or has a plug, but I think 5000w is a very generous estimate)

If your power normally costs $0.15/kwh, 5000 watts for 24 hours would cost you $18.

I doubt you'll find any hotel room (any room capable of supplying 5000 watts at least) for less than that rate. :p

Problem is you have to have other things running while at home like t.v., lights etc. That will add to your cost. In the room it would be no extra cost. Plus add in people living with you. They are using power as well.

But I get what you are saying. Of course, each individual has to run their own numbers to make it work. Just a thought.

How about mining with solar power? Solar power is free! Just pay the initial investment for a generator.
957  Economy / Marketplace / Re: So you think you're going to start a Bitcoin business, right? on: February 06, 2013, 03:36:28 PM
MPEx demolished GLBSE?  When did this happen?  MPEx sucked from day one and continues to suck.  GLBSE self imploded and MPEx played exactly zero part in that.

Additionally, the whole bit about WOT is a joke.  Very few people care about, pay attention to or use WOT.  The idea behind WOT is not a bad one, but much like MPEx, the user interface is shit, whereas the user interface on MPEx is complete, utter shit.  As such, nobody really cares about either website in the greater bitcoin community.  I'm not sure why you are trying to push WOT so hard, but whatever.

The fact that you use MPEx as an example of a "good" Bitcoin venture is rather telling, though.  WOT is only for the hardcore geeks, as is MPEx.  The rest of the Bitcoin community has little to zero knowledge and cares even less about either of them.  There is no way in hell you're going to get Joe Sixpack to use either site.  Citing irc-based identification as a good thing also indicates you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about when you're talking about the general public.

Some of what you've written is definitely true, but you have a very tenuous grasp on the fundamental interaction between Bitcoin and the general population unfortunately, so most of your message will be discarded.

Took the words out of my mouth regarding the WoT.
