9421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitcoinUnlimited "miners" will be automous bots power by Ethereum on: April 11, 2017, 04:30:48 AM
How many people do you think will control your fantasy bots? Will it be like the days of Bitcoin's past when hackers could control the network with botnets?

We all will own autonomous bots, some will make us profits.

If we can own an autonomous bot then it would also be possible to own 10 or 100 or more.

BitcoinUnlimited is ahead of it's time still, Ethereum is a bit further than that.

Really? The idea of Ethereum is maybe a little bit further than that. Maybe. But Ethereum itself, at its contemporary state might not be.
9422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The only answer against Miners Mafia is UASF on: April 11, 2017, 04:25:43 AM
Things have reached the point now where we absolutely place far too much emphasis on trusting what developers might or might not do in the future.  It's the same warped human trait that generally leads to two-party political systems in so called democracies.  It's undeniable now, we have central planning instead of decentralisation and a power struggle over which central planning political party we elect.  We've lost all sight of what was supposed to be a trustless system because you're all so quick to worship or denounce one particular group of personalities or another, as if the decision was theirs to begin with.  I honestly thought we were above that here, but evidently that isn't the case.

Stop begging for an overlord and an antichrist to fight to the death and make your decisions for you.  Shame on you all.

It is also undeniable that some central planning is good for the overall development of Bitcoin. The developers propose something then it is for the nodes and the miners to decide which ones they want or what they do not want. It is the centralization of mining or the possibility of miner collusion that is bad. They have gained much leverage on the network that now they have become like an enemy of the Core developers to impose what they want.
9423  Economy / Speculation / Re: My take on BU's long-term impact on the price of BTC on: April 11, 2017, 04:09:09 AM
I think this was all a coordinated plan to get the price back to sub $1000 so whales can buy. Same thing with LTC, they crashed the price so they can buy sub $10.

I do not think so. The truth is slowly showing that there is a conspiracy with the miners and the Bitcoin Unlimited developers. Its like the Chinese miners have hired their own set of developers to take control and do with Bitcoin any roadmap they want.

Well this is going to fail. Either we change the POW or UASF will be used to continue core's roadmap if they continue blocking SegWit.
If miners think they are the ones in charge they will have to learn it the hard way. Millions of $ in invested mining rigs and asic developemnt might be worthless soon.

Maybe but do not underestimate the Chinese miners. They will keep on fighting and try to fork the network away from the Core developers because Bitcoin is about the one which has more hash power securing the blockchain. They know they have some leverage on the network. They also know they have the financial power to attack the other chain if it comes to that.
9424  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Traders help please? How to know the trend of Crypto money on: April 10, 2017, 10:27:46 AM
In Forex, trends of currency is no magical. It can be predicted from news like Bloomberg, etc. How about crypto money? alt coins? Would you mind to share how will I know which coin is profitable to buy or sell.

No, it cannot be predicted by watching the news like the ones they have at Bloomberg. If you think it can then you need to learn more about trading. Trading news are mostly "market noise". It does more bad than good in your trading.

Can you give trading websites, good news to learn trending coin or tools can be use in crypto trading.

I just starting to self study trading with crypto.

I'll update this OP for the tips I will get in your comment along with your user name to serve as credit.  Grin

Thank you in advance.

Self study will make you lose a lot of Bitcoins. It is better to find someone who is willing to teach you. There are trading chat groups out there that accept newbies.

9426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Even paid alarmist shills shouting "re: "Bugs/needs fix now!"...will buy Bitcoin on: April 10, 2017, 03:33:08 AM
Sound about right? Thoughts?

Even those compensated to campaign against bitcoin on media, internet forums, conferences will be the ones that also buy bitcoin purely for survival.

For those compensated, they would be intelligent enough to see that such compensation paid by whomever to undermine bitcoin would shed light on the fact of how much funny fiat money there is and how expendible/unprecious it is. On the flip side, bitcoin is truly decentralized, immutable, scarce, and secured store of value and has been globally in use for many years. So much use already in all sorts of places including Sweden, Philippines, Russia, USA, India, Indonesia, China, Brazil.

First please define "so much use", because I do not think this is accurate. The average people in those countries might not have heard of Bitcoin and know what it is.

You want to know where it has "so much use"? The dark markets.
9427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The only answer against Miners Mafia is UASF on: April 10, 2017, 03:27:47 AM
"Miner Mafia"?  please.

Bitcoin was always a miner vote system, if you read and understand
Satoshi's whitepaper, but somehow the miners
(70% of them) not signaling for Core's roadmap
is a now a mafia. right...

I agree with you. But do you not think it is possible for the miners to collude and conspire behind the scenes to get what they want? Tin foil hat on. But I believe there is an argument that the developers of BU are supported and controlled by the Chinese miners.

Bitmain would support Segwit WITH a HF block increase,
but Core will not compromise.  They would rather
not have segwit than increase the blocksize.
They are the obstructionists.

A block size increase is inevitable in my opinion. Why not be patient and support Segwit now and get a block size increase later?

OP, outdated or not, this forum will always be no.1 in the cryptocurrency world. It has everything you can ever look for in a forum like drama, the trolls, all the good information and the misinformation.

There is another forum owned by Roger Ver but it is not attracting many users. Even the Bitcoin Unlimited supporters likes it better here.

9430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 09, 2017, 03:57:34 AM
What will cause a government to ban bitcoin in the country? In what circumstances will that be justified by the government?
And how can government actually ban bitcoin? I mean they can ban people selling or buying stuff with bitcoin in the country, can they actually ban people from holding bitcoin?

i think people can not use bitcoin in public area and we can not see offline store that available to accept bitcoin for the payment but i am sure that people which is using bitcoin will search another way so they can still using bitcoin without government known. maybe government can only ban from using bitcoin but they can not close the purpose of people with using bitcoin except government is trying to close blockchain with many ways.
All banning Bitcoin does is force exchanges a bit more underground and it makes it harder for the average person to do anything with it. However, in the event that the average person has enough money they want to get out of Bitcoin, regardless of the laws, it's possible for them to do so. They just end up being a bit more clandestine about it.

Banning Bitcoin is wholly ineffective for stopping anything of importance. It just becomes an inconvenience for normal people, typically.

Well that is becoming the whole point now. It is turning out that Bitcoin is not for the average user. All the average user does is hold them or trade them for profit in fiat. The people who know how to use Bitcoin properly are the criminals and the dark market users. Most of the people in this forum do not really know how.
9431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 09, 2017, 02:08:16 AM
Just a quick fact check, fiat is the main currency used to support terrorism. Nothing has changed right?

Bitcoin's market cap is far too low to finance a huge terrorist organisation. If it were to happen, rules imposed on exchange (AML/KYC) policies can help to prevent it. It is hard to purchase anything with Bitcoin without exchanging to fiat first.

Then there will be a gap in the market that someone will be willing to fill. If there was a terrorist group who wants to convert their Bitcoins to fiat, a trader in the black market could buy them for a better price than the regular market. Money launderers who want to use Bitcoin could also do this.
9432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Inside-the-Dragons-Den-Bitcoin-Cores-Troll-Army on: April 08, 2017, 02:11:01 AM
There are people from both sides that engage in misinformation drives. It is especially in the interest of Bitcoin Unlimited to do this. They bombard the forums with misinformation, get "boots on the street", and then get the Core developers out of the picture.
9433  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with SMA crosses only, with 1 day chart: infallible ? on: April 08, 2017, 02:01:21 AM
Any strategy is a good strategy until the day it stops working. Any amateur trader is a genius until the day he or she stops "winning". Trading Bitcoin is very easy if it is going up but what of the times if it is going down? Your whole strategy should be able to "win" in up or down markets.
9434  Economy / Speculation / Re: My take on BU's long-term impact on the price of BTC on: April 08, 2017, 01:55:20 AM
The disclaimer is that I'm a core fan -- I believe bitcoin should remain named bitcoin and that all changes should be done within the system. Everything else is mutiny. Ergo, BTU will fall to the wayside, just as Classic and XT did after a bunch of crying and much ado about nothing.

In any case, my blog also has some decent beginner's guides to bot trading and arbitrage if you'd like to take a look. The main theme is hot to capitalize on BTC investment groups in the most prudent manner possible:

http://bitcoinautotradingreview.com/

Thanks for taking a look!

I see what you did there. Wink

Why not partly post your blog entries directly here in the forum and post the link in the end like what everyone is doing in the forum.

Anyway I will take a look at your blog later and then post what I think.
9435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When I talk to NON-BitcoinTalkers they don't know.. on: April 08, 2017, 01:49:31 AM
There are a lots of people here that do not know bitcoin, and I guess they are not really interested on it because it is a internet thing, but when they knew that these digital currency is a good asset or investment, they will be changing their minds quickly, no second thoughts. Many people here in our place loves earning money even if it is not that big, they love making businesses but the only problem is their capital to start that business. I can use that to let them know what bitcoin does and what does it hold in the near future.

It is also the reason why there are a lot of people here who do not know the real issues with Bitcoin. They also do not try to understand how it works and what try to think what it is supposed to be in our society. All they want from it is to make money from it just like any get rich quick scheme.
9436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 08, 2017, 01:45:06 AM
I think they can, Gobeenments can ban bitcoin into their country when these digital currency is cauing a harm or maybe it is a reason of big illegal activities to be on action. Bitcoin is free and you can do whatever almost that you want to do, but the thing is, it is also a good way to pay or sell something that is illegal and the government will never knew it because they are not the authority that control bitcoin, the users are. If these kind of activities are being abused by the people of ones country, the government will be banning it for good.

They can ban Bitcoin. The problem is if they can enforce it. It is the same with downloading movies illegaly from torrent sites. It is illegal and you can be made to pay hefty fines if caught and charged. But can the government really stop it?
9437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 08, 2017, 01:30:31 AM
The question is very unfair, we know that US dollars and everything that has worth and value can be used for buying weapons. But we are all free to use whatever we want with our bitcoins. This is decentralized and freedom can be applied here it is why we don't care if those people are willing to use their btc for supporting terrorists, criminals and rebels. And where's the source of this news?

What do you mean the "question is unfair"? No one was trying to say Bitcoin is bad because terrorists use it. But it does show that Bitcoin is the perfect medium for value transfer that can be used by terrorists to move their money through the internet very easily. Not only that drug dealers, prostitution, illegal gambling and ransomware also love to Bitcoin.
9438  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin AND the Altcoins are moving up.. Pushing ATH's for global CC markets.. on: April 07, 2017, 07:52:34 PM
Where do you live ? But regardless of your geolocation, I guess you may find enormous number of bitcoin accepting merchants online. But still you are talking no merchants accepts, how ? I believe I could buy everything which are needed for my living with bitcoin payments.

Ah, you'd be surprised. I'm in the UK and the Bitcoin payment options are very slender, mainly because no business can retain a bank account if it's associated with BTC. My main shopping portal with it just gave up so I mainly use one place for gift cards now.

There are always debit cards of course but that seems a tad against the point.

A lot of the people here overestimate how wide the adoption for Bitcoin is. Newbies or some people in who are not too smart usually think that Bitcoin is like a magic super currency that will wipe the banks out. They do not know that Proof of Work and blockchains are very inefficient and costly. But that is the price of decentralization and censorship resistance. Some now even argue decentralization is slowly going away.
9439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When I talk to NON-BitcoinTalkers they don't know.. on: April 07, 2017, 07:40:26 PM
Bitcoin is not as popular as we think and also most of the people I met don't want to involve in bitcoin because it is a currency for criminal and bad people, so when they already got a negative mindset, it will be difficult to change it
And it will be more difficult to explain segwit and bu to newbie, even some of the user not really understand that things, the most important for the user is the price

That is why a lot of people take sides because they miss the point and they think that one implementation will increase the price and double their "wealth". I have noticed this behavior mostly from people from Asia. They do not try to understand the issues happening in Bitcoin, most of them only care about if Bitcoin can make them rich.
9440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Ban on: April 07, 2017, 07:31:51 PM
Governments can ban bitcoin or make it illegal but there is no concrete way to actually stop us from using it. Maybe it will be harder for us to exchange it to fiat because exchanges will be shutdown but there are still other ways. They can never really stop this.

This I agree with. There is nothing that can stop Bitcoin now. It is like a pandora's box. Once you open it you cannot put it and close it back in.

The situation in China is a very good example of how uncensorable and how Bitcoin cannot really be banned. Like bamboylee said, the government will make it hard to convert to fiat.
