Ah, thank you very much!
9462  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitspend.net Launches - Allowing you to spend your Bitcoins anywhere online! on: May 23, 2013, 11:34:44 AM
One thing I read about elsewhere, but hasn't been mentioned here AFAIK, is that they'll use their Amazon Prime account to get you 2-day shipping. For those of us who don't have Amazon Prime, BitSpend's $2 fee sounds like a better deal for 2-day shipping than you'd get buying directly. I might need to give them a shot for my next order, even if it's with bitcoin purchased for that purpose. (I've been buying bitcoin for purchases from Amagi Metals, so that's nothing new.)

I wasn't aware of the Prime benefit either. This, I think, would make the service well worth using if you don't have prime. If you're doing less than like 35 purchases a year, you'll end up saving money. Also works great for those who don't have a credit card or don't want to give it to Amazon.
9463  Other / Archival / Re: Vircurex to remove all non-BTC trading pairs in days - WTF?! on: May 23, 2013, 11:30:42 AM
This sucks... I thought they get kickbacks from each trade that's made? This will cause there to be less trades, meaning less income for them. I really can't fathom why someone would do that. It just doesn't make good business sense.
9464  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best way to withdraw large amounts of cash from Bitcoin ecosystem? on: May 23, 2013, 11:28:37 AM
With trusted status you can withdraw 10,000 BTC in a 24 hour period.

With verified status you can withdraw 1,000 BTC in a 24 hour period.

Transferring out Bitcoin and selling them OTC is probably your best way to avoid being caught by withdrawal limits of other services or creating reportable transactions.  There are people who buy large quantities of Bitcoin OTC.

What is the acronym "OTC?" I haven't heard that one yet...
9465  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking to build a mining Rig on: May 23, 2013, 11:23:44 AM
I plan on mining and trading full time plus I have a side business. All I need is for some one to believe in me! I know I can make money I turned $100 into $200 yesterday just trading im sure if I had mining equipment coupled with trading I could do something

Turn that $200 into $400 today, then $800 tomorrow.  By Friday you won't need the loan.

However, if you still want it, you need collateral.  The rig itself cannot be used as collateral if it is in your possession.

I think this will take to much time and time is of the essence. ha I would put my car up for collateral its worth about 4.5G's

See, there you go! That would be perfect. This is the extent of my knowledge though... I'm not sure how the lien process works in cases like this.

I want to thank you for being mature about everything though. There's been a lot of people on the forums that get very defensive (and offensive) when they are given advice, so it's great to see someone that understands we're just trying to explain how things work. Smiley

This right here. You can't use what you're buying with the money as the collateral. That depletes the purpose. The rig would be depreciating over time, therefore if a default happened the rig would no longer be able to fully cover the loan.

It's not to say you will default, but when people make loans like this collateral worth more than the loan is usually required (the reason people usually want more is because of the time and effort of liquidating, should it be required).
9467  Economy / Gambling / Re: ApopheniaBTC - Bet and solve the challenges to win BTC. on: May 22, 2013, 02:48:48 PM
i should not made a bet so early in the game lol.. it was a good try  Grin

I'm guessing you didn't win? haha. I'm still having my break before I try again. It seems I suck at this game.

Try not to find the answer at once. Some times finding a background object might narrow down what the answer is. Like the scrat picture. The nut was quite visible, if you could see that, well, which character holds a nut? You don't always have to keep asking yourself the main question "who is this character?".

And take it easy. Go for the cheaper pictures first and when you see a solved picture, don't click one it and don't look at the answer. Instead right click on the thumbnail, save it somewhere and try to find what it is. When pictures get solved, they are no longer processed, which means that someone was able to solve the picture you see as it is.

BTW in case someone hasn't noticed: you can see the full res picture if you click on a solved thumbnail and then click again on the big picture. Clicking that should switch between the original picture (in B&W) and the state of the picture as it was solved.

The idea of trying to figure out the solved images is a good one. I hadn't thought of that for testing skills.

Is it possible (I was reading about the issue with people putting in too detailed of answers) of using some kind of wildcards? For example, if you have a picture of Lassie and you wanted the answer of a dog, someone who put in "Lassie the dog" would still ping as correct since the system would find "dog" in it.

Just spitballing with that.
9468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help Feathercoin over the hump. (And enjoy lower difficulty on the other side!) on: May 22, 2013, 02:44:30 PM
I've just set up a p2pool node for feathercoin at bitvolcano.

The details....
Server: http://bitvolcano.com:19327
User: yourfeathercoinaddress
Pass: x

cgminer:
Code:
 cgminer.exe --scrypt -o bitvolcano.com:19327 -u yourfeathercoinaddresshere -p x --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0

Fee is 1%

Careful, you mentioned Feathercoin, however, your logo has BQC.  The kids around here might BBQ your azz for being a heretic. Wink  Thanks for the update.

Hey just because we like one coin more does not mean we done support other coins too.

It was swipe at the weird cult coin attitudes around here. Smiley Yes, there are rational people that are able to focus on more than 1 coin.. I'd like to see more of them personally.

Yeah, there are definitely some die-hard fans of different currencies. I relate it to the gaming console fanboys. Who said you can't like the 360 and PS3? 360 has Halo and PS3 has Final Fantasies (or insert console-specific game here).
9469  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp withdraw on: May 22, 2013, 02:42:05 PM
Okay, i see. I think i will wait couple days more. Because i clicked withdraw on monday evening.

Yeah, wait it out a bit more. If you submitted the request Monday evening, it likely didn't start processing (the bank's side) until Tuesday. From there it's anywhere from 1-3 business days to get completed. Also, keep in mind that some banks won't allow you to use the money as soon as it's in the account, and may place a temporary hold on it.

To ensure a smooth transition, we’re providing a three-month sunset period so you have sufficient time to find an alternative feed-reading solution. If you want to retain your Reader data, including subscriptions, you can do so through Google Takeout.

My guess, they will provide a 3 month sunset period for all the dead people with inactive accounts, and anyone with any settings longer than 3 months will get the notice immediately.

I have to admit, that comment made my day. I lol'd.

+1 intarneckz for you, sir.
9471  Economy / Gambling / Re: If I had a large gambling website, who can I trust here? on: May 22, 2013, 07:34:44 AM
I just think Google will stick around longer.

Google stick around, but their services don't.  I'm currently having to find a new RSS reader, since Google Reader is about to be shut down.  Google Wave went the same way, and Google Health, was it?  That disappeared too.

Google Wave was either for a very niche audience or wasn't planned properly. I had a beta invite for it and didn't even spend more than a couple minutes due to not really understanding what it was supposed to be or how it worked.

Surprised Reader is being shut down though... doesn't Chrome have one built in though?
9472  Economy / Gambling / Re: If I had a large gambling website, who can I trust here? on: May 22, 2013, 07:15:15 AM
Couple things here:

1) I think you're awesome for taking the responsibility of ensuring there's a backup in case something happens to you!

2) Never heard of DMS before now. I've thought a lot about how to share things that I otherwise want private, when I pass (ex. hiding a paper/cd and hoping it's found). DMS seems like the perfect solution!

On that note... don't forget your "living wills," guys. I still haven't been able to fill out mine because the choices are hard, but it's something I think about a lot. You never know when something might happen, regardless of your health and age.

Edit: just realized some of you may not know what a living will is. It's a document that tells what happens in certain situations (regarding whether or not to "resuscitate," leave you on machines as a vegetable or pull the plug, etc.).
9473  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking to build a mining Rig on: May 22, 2013, 05:31:24 AM
thanks for the link are these guys trusted in the community? I have and 800 credit score and don't want my identity stolen lol

lol, you just asked the owner if he's trustworthy. That's like asking the bank robber if he's a criminal.

For all it's worth, TradeFortress and I have spoken for a little while, and based on what I've learned from him/about him, he's a great guy. Although he hasn't responded to my last pm yet.. >=)

Reupload them to imgur then.

There you go! Now you're getting somewhere, Smiley.

I'm not in the market for a plane, I just found the thread somewhat peculiar. Good luck with your sale!
9475  Economy / Goods / Re: Possible Airplane for Sale ~1500 BTC = Very Nice Single Engine 4 Seat Bo on: May 21, 2013, 05:49:32 AM
After reading the posts in this thread... I couldn't help but laugh.

By the way, I'm selling a car. It was made after 2000 but that's all the information I can give you. Asking $90k or the equivalent in BTC. Don't ask for the make/model!

*Production years on airplanes give models if you look at number of seats and type of tails (again another clue)*

Again car sells versus airplanes are very different creatures.  Lets say I was selling a Cessna 172 which is it is not as I said in the post for $43,000k.

So I go to google and type in cessna 172 (an entry lever learning airplaine) for sale, it brings up basically the 5 sites to sell planes on Controller, Trade A Plane, ASO, Barnstormers and Aircraft Dealer.

I click on controller and search by price, it has 4-5 options around that price range, lets just use this one (since registration is pending)
http://www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/CESSNA-172P-SKYHAWK/1981-CESSNA-172P-SKYHAWK/1279113.htm

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N5216K
It tells who owns it (Registration pending, probably due to recent sale prior to being sold buy guy in ad or controller)

But here is the old one - http://www.aircraftone.com/aircraft/registrations/lexington-ky-40515.asp

How easy was that would you want to be the seller or possible buyer (again those who can afford this with bitcoins might not want it made public, because its that easy)

Again clues to exact make a model are throughout the posts for people with aircraft experience.

I kind of follow. In a sense it appears you're doing the same thing a lot of people do with businesses (require that you sign an NDA prior to them giving any real details, to ensure you 1) are a capable buyer and 2) aren't going to share their financials/other information with anyone else). From that end, what you're doing makes sense.

However, I would think you could photoshop the images in a way that it doesn't give identifying information. After-all, while there may be 30 of a type of plane for sale, nothing is there to show that any of those are the same one you are. Plenty of people use private listings instead of public.

9478  Economy / Gambling / Re: ApopheniaBTC - Bet and solve the challenges to win BTC. on: May 18, 2013, 12:55:46 AM
I don't even know what to make of that one. So much for "easy," lol.

This is starting to feel like a Rorschach test.

Well right now it's hard. But I predict it will be solved quite early compared to other images. Of course my predictions are often wrong so you may as well ignore them. :-D

After taking another look, it seems like a bunny or a dog. Weird how each time you see a picture you may interpret it differently...
9479  Economy / Gambling / Re: ApopheniaBTC - Bet and solve the challenges to win BTC. on: May 17, 2013, 10:51:50 PM
I like to try and solve them early on, and always fail.

That's part of the trick. You need to know when you should bet. Too early and you'll likelly fail, too late and you get nothing since someone else solved it first. :-)

EDIT:

One more easy pic:

I don't even know what to make of that one. So much for "easy," lol.
