961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on Medieval MMA? on: May 27, 2021, 09:48:40 PM
The game seems to be so chaotic that an umpire or a referee facilitating the bouts will prove insufficient in controlling these adrenaline-fueled knights once they have already unsheathed their longswords and raised their shields. Hopefully this grows to be a much more organized tournament of sorts and if it does then count me in as one of the people who will bet on this fun-to-watch competition.
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is someone worried about the recent decline of BTC? on: May 26, 2021, 11:49:16 PM
Bitcoin death happened at least 400 times ever sive it was created and released to the masses. Sure some of the people here in the forum may find this current price decline concerning considering the fact that the deficit is big, but we gotta remember that bitcoin had these issues for breakfast since time immemorial. I'm not saying their fear is illogical, but I'm saying it would be unwise to let this opportunity pass just because something as common as bitcoin dump has happened yet again.
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money from Bitcoin in 2021 on: May 26, 2021, 11:32:51 PM
I think the least profitable among these you listed has to be mining. It's not as profitable as it was a decade ago, with cheaper mining gears that does the job and less people on the pools competing for the same block. Nowadays you even have to double down on your mining rigs, which by the way already could cost you tens of thousands of dollars in itself alone. To even get a decent earning. Trading and holding holds the top spots for me because they are basically what made the millionaires in this industry, and has consistently made people get by even as of today.
964  Economy / Economics / Re: How to protect from inflation? on: May 26, 2021, 10:35:59 PM
I believe that in this world, there are only two things that will continue on, it's change and inflation. Even the universe is expanding, which is a bit of a stretch but you could still consider that inflation. But I digress, store of value has definitely helped preserve the treasures and riches of the most influential people in the planet as of late, which by the way run amidst multiple crashes and economic downfalls. So it's no surprise but if one should happen within our lifetime, we could expect gold and bitcoin to save our asses.
965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Weird Bitcoin address (1111111111111111111114oLvT2) on: May 25, 2021, 10:44:24 PM
Could be a burn address that is easily made by the user/owner of the address itself, which will explain well why the characters are a bit odd than the usual almost random jumble of letters and numbers that we came to know with. Still, I believe that this should have a private address and will of course be inaccessible to anyone besides the owner or the ones that the owner entrusted the wallet/address with, courtesy of the private key.
966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't care what Saylor or Musk say anymore, I'm becoming a BTC individualist! on: May 25, 2021, 10:26:19 PM
With everyone easily swayed by trends and mentions from different influential people, it is definitely integral that you take their advices and claims with a grain of salt. As shown with what happened between bitcoin and Elon Musk, where he completely renounced all connections to the coin and backed instead a memecoin with little to no use-case, to blindly believe on someone just because they are rich, or funny is definitely illogical.
967  Economy / Economics / Re: No new millionaires come from stock market in 2020/2021 on: May 25, 2021, 09:52:44 PM
We can safely say that the gold rush is over and the stock market is slowly becoming more like a day job or something you do to earn more money, rather than a main form of income that will help you rack in millions upon millions of dollars. But despite this, the potential to earn in this environment and industry is still promising, so to quit on stock just because you can't get a million just trading isn't really logical.
968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Goldxbtc.com fake gambling website.. on: May 25, 2021, 09:25:31 PM
Telegram and other messaging service became the breeding grounds for these scammers and victims alike. I would suggest that you don't make it known to strangers that you're either connected to crypto or gambling itself because these are the parameters these thieves are setting to choose who they would scam or not scam during their operations. Plus it keeps you secure from hackers too.
969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Domino's franchise offering salary to employees in bitcoin!! on: May 24, 2021, 09:46:17 PM
Adoption is slowly coming into reality as days pass by. We can expect more and more establishments and companies to implement a similar feature for paying their employees in the following months, or years given time. But then again this is but the first step towards global adoption, and we would need more of these in the future if we want bitcoin to be accessible and accepted by the general public.
970  Economy / Economics / Re: Organised crime on: May 24, 2021, 09:11:09 PM
The end doesn't justify the means, so they say. So to ban bitcoin to ward of criminals isn't really going to lower the crime rate any soon. What would lower it though is proper governance, and a much more interactive police force. People should stop putting the blame to something they don't know nothing about. Just like your analogy, it's not logical to ban bitcoin the same way it is not logical to ban fast cars because thieves love to use them for their crimes.
971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could eco-friendly pools like Terra Pool end the energy consumption discussion? on: May 24, 2021, 08:14:50 PM
When done in larger scales and widely adopted by all pools and mining platforms, yes. But the thing is, mining isn't the only thing that's deteriorating the ability of this planet to give life. Long before bitcoin these kinds of problems are already preexisting and is basically going on since time immemorial. What we need to primarily do is to have a means for us to harness electricity in much less invasive ways, renewable resources are a good example.
972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: May 24, 2021, 07:58:22 PM
To someone who has no control over his actions, this is bound to happen. The guy has no one to blame for this misfortune other than himself. Because it's impossible that in the instances that he's betting, he's not at least getting a win or two. Which he could've capitalized on instead of wagering it and literally throwing it down the drain.
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's never too late to start on: May 23, 2021, 10:48:53 PM
Well first and foremost you have to be much more dedicated in trading, the market is not looking so good right now but there is still money to be made amidst this mess, so don't let it get through your mental. Trading isn't really something I would recommend as I usually just diversify and hold for as long as I can or until the market reaches a very high value, but to each his own I guess.
974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto has become the rich man's playground... on: May 23, 2021, 10:16:36 PM
"In hindsight, this is inevitable"-Elon Musk
Just as what he tweeted, wherever money is, you know the rich is bound to wallow on it and make it their breeding ground. Sadly the fact that bitcoin is accessible to everyone means it is also accessible to the 1% of the society. So when they hoard this stuff you know for sure we can't do much about it other than to follow their lead since they practically control the market now.
975  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we entering bear market? How low will btc go in the coming year? on: May 23, 2021, 09:44:21 PM
We could very well be entering the bear market this month. And in my opinion this has been long overdue considering how long bitcoin held up in its price despite the constant backlash and bad blood in its name. Still, in regards to your answer on how long this will last, or how low bitcoin could go next year, we don't have a definite answer. Most of the time bitcoin stays at the bottom for a 4-6 years and then rises up hundreds of times bigger in value than the last ATH, so you can expect next ATH to be much more massive than the one we had this year.
976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Withdrawal/Deposit Issues on: May 23, 2021, 09:03:44 PM
For reputable gambling sites, these issues could easily pass off as isolated bugs that can be fixed by a couple patches. But for startups and for small-time gambling sites this could make them lose their growing following. People are easy to point fingers especially if your credibility isn't tested and proven just yet, so in situations like these most people, myself included, will deem the site as a scam especially if lack of communication is present.
977  Economy / Economics / Re: 🔴 Breaking News - Elon Musk is going to part with all his Bitcoin BTC on: May 22, 2021, 10:29:04 PM
See it as an opportunity to buy more and hold more bitcoins than if you had bought it when it's still high. We can't really blame Elon for selling his coins for whatever reason he wants to because before being a visionary, he was a regular person just like us. And admittedly regular me would also sell my bitcoins for fiat just so I can spend it on something that I am really passionate about. Let this selling not be something that would make us forget about what Elon is all about, which is primarily technological advancement and helping us become a space-faring species.
978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh, market manipulation is finally bad now? on: May 22, 2021, 09:43:01 PM
People quick to follow on the shills and trends of people who are influential enough to swoon the many are the ones to complain when things get awry. I would admit I am a fan of Elon and still currently am because of the measures he takes to help advance the science of this century. But in hindsight I was aware that he may do something like this in the future, and I wasn't wrong. He turned 180 against bitcoin and backed a seemingly useless memecoin instead of something that has a very good use-case token.
979  Economy / Economics / Re: A bubble is when price is not justified on: May 22, 2021, 09:11:03 PM
People relating the bitcoin phenomenon to the tulip mania is wrong specifically because of this. They always see bitcoin's high price as a bubble not knowing why people are buying into it anyway. They tend to forget the use-case that bitcoin could potentially provide the current world and the future that it can pave for our grandkids. That is something that doesn't strike a thought on their brains which is why they would always continue to blabber about how bitcoin is useless and the bubble is going to pop anytime soon.
980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the motive behind the anti gambling campaign on: May 22, 2021, 08:44:24 PM
It was directed to everyone who's primarily seeking to gamble for gains. Because they will have this negative connotation that it's very easy to earn huge racks of cash when you gamble which is not entirely true. It's for people who are aware that they do not have self-control, so they don't go bankrupt over a very stupid decision such as gambling all their life savings away.
