I've had the same problem with a stick not mining when I'm changing voltage. I find that turning the adjustment screw back to default works, sometimes it takes a few attempts and use no higher than 300 with good cooling / 150 without.

EDIT: Several times I've thought I'd killed a stick only for it to come back to life after a small screw / voltage adjustment .

I have a quick question if you don't mind please. When you use the RPi as a controller do you just install the software onto a blank sd card or does the sd card need anything else on it?

Does the unmodded mean stock 150MHz frequency or can that be whatever? Its the voltage you mean unmodded?
