RIght clearly people are getting a bit negative again, having potentially lost every fucking penny on some bullshit. But Lets get some perspective:

The Man wants a $100Million fine, why would they want a fine paid if they just take everyones funds? Shit don't make sense.

Heres the dream scenario: BTC-e negotiates a repayment scheme of $50mil and to comply with US regs. in return for the btc-e domain back and trading restart

That's good business right there.

Okay guys Game Over - seized Sad

Game over man

In trading terms we call this counterparty risk
963  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 09:53:13 PM
Even I am unable to see it. Anyways - what does this mean for people who had legitimate crypto earnings/savings ? If US has seized it.

I think the term is Rekt
964  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 09:47:04 PM
I am not seeing that page--at least not yet. Are you joking?

telnet to btc-e.com 80  do a "get index.html" and it gives you a 302 to http://ninjavideo.net/index.html generic seizure page

Come On My Soviet Friends get that site back
965  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 09:33:46 PM

Bye bye btc-e :-(

I will never eat another hamburger
966  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 09:24:12 PM
Browsers are probably pinned to https so will try to hit it at port 443 by default.  But if you use curl or something raw like telnet to port 80 from a command line, you'll see the dreaded "NinjaVideo.net" domain which you might remember from Silk Road and others.  Hit that URL and you'll see the banner.

$ telnet btc-e.com 80

Ever heard of DNS propagation?

Is that the same as a fabricated coffin?
968  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 08:43:17 PM
Probably in the next 24 hours when new dns propagation is over, btc-e.com main page will start showing beast signs.

*hug*
969  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone read "The road less traveled"? on: July 28, 2017, 07:50:47 PM
I read the highway code for my driving test. total bullshit.
970  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 06:45:46 PM
While the russian counterpart topic is basically all about btce, the English btce thread must be turned into troll thread. I wrote something in Ukrainian there (basically only 5 letters difference from Russian this time) and it got instantly removed.  Shocked

It is interesting how much they believe it is going to be online soon.

Of course all Russians are on btce, because it was only site in Russian with Russian support and high volume. Now, of course we must believe the USA fake news that every Russian is a hacker and not just their because of above fact.

Yes I am fully believe that BTC-e will be online next week. Is massive business, they not let is disappear as make too much for profit. Soon we will trade there again like old times
971  Economy / Speculation / Re: With the Hard Fork coming, will anyone who has BTC will Get BCC?? on: July 28, 2017, 06:42:46 PM
Ok so what is the best BCC wallet to download then? I am too lazy to use google
972  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 06:37:07 PM
Last year I created a temporary trollbox replacement channel on IRC called fegbox for those who didn't have enough money to chat.

If anyone is suffering from trollbox withdrawal symptoms you can join #fegbox on freenode or click: http://webchat.freenode.net?channels=%23fegbox

You're too late Claw. I already got a hugely popular Trollbox thread going on up in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2051295.0

We're just about to discuss the role of fluoride in the btc-e server downtime
973  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 04:48:31 PM
This thread is getting hints of retardbox level retardness.

^^^ Banhammer
974  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 03:08:51 PM
gosh, i really hope they will be back up again with btc-e. their customer support was really nice. i never had any problems with them.

Smiley

Plus we get our money back as a bonus

Any updates about Alex's extradition?

Greek Media have gone ape regarding his arrest.

Reporter

"The authorities arrested the head of a Criminal organization"

"He received cash from illegal activities in his accounts which he converted to Bitcoin"

"The police had to arrest him with his smartphone functioning, as he was controlling the business from itGrin

no mention of BTC-E anywhere

BTW most of my fellow Greeks think Bitcoin is an American kind of Souvlaki or something

Mobile phone == BTC-e server
976  Economy / Exchanges / Official BTC-e TrollBox Thread on: July 28, 2017, 09:45:21 AM
Lets face it, the smartest and funniest guys on the internet posted on the BTC-e trollbox. With BTC-e temporarily down, the loss of tollbox has has a deep impact on world culture and IQ and left a lot of trolls homeless. This thread is a temporary official home

Rules:

1) BTC-e trollbox OGs and core trolls only
2) no fucking Vietnamese/Pakistani gibberish
3) No n00bs begging for advice on how to trade
4) ascii boobs/dicks encouraged

977  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e.com on: July 28, 2017, 09:37:34 AM
Dear everyone,

im holding atleast 500,000$ in my btc-e wallet what looks like gone for now.
im holding like 1700 ETH, 35k coins of NVC and 100k coins of NMC.

I heard good and bad news from the Russian side, but i dont know what to believe.
If there another peoples who control the BTC-e website the best for him is to go live back instead of stealing our money what will bring them to a criminal case.

I've also made a verification to BTC-E into XBTCE but they dont take any responsibility for now.

Anyone here also have more then 100K$ into the exchange please inform me so we can act together in any cases.

I hope to get a good news soon. Sad

Ignore the doom-mongering ghouls. BTC-e will be back up and fully functional within the week

BTC-e at worst has a fine to pay that it can easily do so. The site is a fucking money printing machine, those guys are working flat out to get it back online
978  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 28, 2017, 09:34:58 AM
they did say they needed a couple days to get drunk

This was quite an erroneous translation.

The mod said

3 дня упереться и усраться

which having NOT been distilled from meaty russian idiomatics has the meaning of

3 days at least if we push so hard that we shit ourselves.

There no need for admin to shit himself - no-one wants that. What with the August 1 nonsense I'm happy to see Btc-e back up sometime first week of August.

I like the btc-e crew, they seem more practical than a lot of other CEO types that get a god complex and start thinking they are better than the rest of us
979  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 27, 2017, 09:42:08 PM
and people must understand that he is NOT suspected for being behind the mtGox hack - he is suspected for laundering  money that came from the mtGox wallets. nothing else. analysis shows a moneyflow into btc-e, this is a fact. and this is why he is arrested. not for being behind the mtGox hack.

Laundering money through unlicensed exchange makes him accomplice with that hacker unless he can prove that he was not aware that he was used for that but since WizSec found his name long before then it seems that "WME" was keeping this issue unsolved for long time.

Check http://archive.is/6cFcY (at skype capture https://archive.is/6cFcY/1d5539131aad6491174158318495560bf91dd784.png you can find Alexander Vinnik name posted by WME user, 5 years ago).

Only 5-6 exchangers are licensed. I am wondering why the people are using shit ones like BTC-e. I said for so many times that unlicensed exchangers will be closed.
BTC-E imo was the BEST exchange. Feature wise, that is. Why would someone use it? There's a long list of reasons why, here are some:
- Privacy, why should anyone be allowed to monitor my transactions?
- No KYC, why should I have to send my documents off to strangers to do business?
- Deposit/Withdraw options, there was a lot of options, PayPal, PerfectMoney, OKPAY etc... Very useful to get funds to and from some of these processors.
- Long term in business
- Anonymous owners, makes it harder to target with social engineering or through the legal system (as we've seen now, one admin is still on the loose).
- You can't really be fully complicit with the law in this day and age. That is wishful thinking. So even so called "regulated exchanges" can at the end of the day break laws, that puts them in jeopardy.
- Exchanges that are "regulated" also get hacked and fail as we've seen many examples of.
- Ideological reasons such as supporting the right to freely transact and the right to privacy.

^^

All that plus btc-e had a decent API that actually worked reliably, unlike nearly all the other exchanges.
980  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 27, 2017, 09:33:08 PM
Man, I got really pissed at btc-e for banning me from the trollbox a few days ago so I withdrew all my money from there..

So yeah, a big thank you to the btc-e admin team.

By the way, is there any link between btc-e and BTCex? https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/BTCex

Karpeles seemed to have trouble with them back in 2011 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=6931.0

lolol that bullshit banhammer was fucked. Its like it was tuned it to filter out all the smart and funny guys and leave a bunch of semiliterate English-as-a-second-language ass-candles talking pocket money investing.

At least you got your money
