I don't see the seizure page yet, but just read an article from the fincen site and a quote from it was FinCEN acted in coordination with law enforcement’s seizure of BTC-e and Vinnik’s arrest.  The Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Secret Service, and Homeland Security Investigations conducted the criminal investigation.

telnet to btc-e.com 80  do a "get index.html" and it gives you a 302 to http://ninjavideo.net/index.html generic seizure page

recent browsers block the page because it was https former and it's http now - not secured via SSL anymore


What this means for the funds ? Well.. Not more or less than before, the site is down and at least the former domain will remain down as it's no longer in the hands of the old admins.. Did btc-e have any secondary domains ? Preferably NOT .com/.net/.org ?

Did anyone read what the shadowserver offers? Yeah they say they are there to prevent cyber crime. But perhaps BTC-E was using it. It would have been helpful in the DDOS attacks a few weeks ago. Has anybody checked the WHOIS in the past? If so, do you remember seeing a different server in use?

As far as I can tell it is the US which is stealing peoples coins here - only the law makes them look right. I hope they have some system to give back to the users who are not suspected of any criminal activities.
