981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: should i move my ''saving'' to Bitcoin? on: July 02, 2015, 10:07:25 AM
i have about 1200 Dollar in stocks(savings). should i just move those Money and buy BTC for them instead ? and Hodl for atleast 5 years ?

Due to the amount yes i would take a punt and put it all in bitcoin/litecoin.  You can earn this amount back quickly.  I only think its worth worrying about divesifying at certain levels of wealth.
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discussion about Wimbledon 2015 on: July 02, 2015, 10:02:09 AM
perhaps everybody have assumption djokovic would be the winner in wimbledon tournament this year, i dont think so Roger Federer is one of have good track in grass tournament

Problem is federer is getting on a bit, even though he has a stlye which is great for playing at his age unlike we see with nadal who's style looks like he dislocates his arms every match.  Its still very difficult for fe to beat he likes of murray and djork now.
983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Interest in Bitcoin Began to Wane? on: July 02, 2015, 09:56:50 AM
"The significance of Bitcoin’s current interest level has been exaggerated, here’s why…"
http://bitcointechie.com/has-interest-in-bitcoin-began-to-wane/

The interest did wane i think but that peaked about 2-3 months ago.  All the numbers were down on social media etc.  If you look now things have been climbing for a while.
984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is holding Bitcoin back? on: July 02, 2015, 09:47:08 AM
volatility is i think one of the most important things. especially when people plan to use it to store value. once that changes, it will give bitcoin a much higher market cap.

This will sort itself out in a couple years, the only thing we can do meantime is instantly convert to something more "stable".   Its a good store of value now long term its just high risk Grin.
985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: July 02, 2015, 09:44:39 AM
Software development team here.
We would like to hear from the community what are the most annoying\frustrating stuff you have with Bitcoin and would love to get a solution for ?
Feel free to talk about any problem, even if it seems unsolvable or too abstract (e.g. Bitcoin is not safe enough for the average user)
Edit:
After reading all the replies, I feel confident summarizing that the #1 problem of Bitcoin is probably lack of adoption.
And the main reasons of lack of adoption are probably ease of use and insufficient security.
We are a team of entrepreneurs and software developers that are going to spend the next following months-year on developing a new product.
One of the most appealing markets for us is the Bitcoin market.
We will try to learn us much as possible from your replies and try to tackle the problems head on.

The single biggest problem with bitcoin is making it accessible and useable for any idiot.  Maybe the 2 problems overlap a little.
986  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pokerstars transfer to player on: July 02, 2015, 09:10:41 AM
I would like to sell some money on Pokerstars for BTC.

My current problem is that I'm not sure if I will be required to take additional actions once I try to transfer money to another player. In other words, I'm not sure if I'll need to send additional info to Pokerstars e.g. drivers licence or any other ID.

Their FAQ is confusing and doesn't tell me much.

Is there anybody out there who have tried it? I'm located in Quebec, Canada.

Hey,

Interesting....  from my memory pokerstars need some details from you to deposit and become a real money player.  I signed up like 10 years ago now so its hard to remember what i gave them lol.

I guess you either built up some money via winning freeroll or have someone transfered to you.  You know, pokerstars treats money transfers on a case by case basis.  The transfers aren't automatic the staff review it and give it the OK, you can tell this by how the transfers take random amounts of time to go through. So it really depends on who is reviewing your transfer and how much money it is for.

If you are trying to send someone $10 i reckon it will be no problem, if you are trying to send like $5000 i think they may want to know a few more details.  You can always try it and get rejected, im guessing you dont want to attract the attention though if it fails?

Remember though pokerstars are more concerned about checking money on cashouts, player - player transfer will always be slightly loser security vs cashout.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COPA AMERICA discussion on: June 30, 2015, 03:55:03 AM
It is me or the referees are heavily favoring Chile?

Referess will always slightly favour the host nation just like they will always favour home teams slightly in any normal league football.  Perhaps when you are in a country with millions of passionate football fans you want to do a good job for them for fear of retaliation.   Its possible with international games the ref bias is accentuated due to borders.  In the womens world cup we've seen the same thing with canada getting favoured heavily.
988  Economy / Gambling / Re: 8 Ball Pool + Any Other Multiplayer Game--- Bet with BTC ---Play with each other on: June 30, 2015, 03:48:53 AM
Im looking for someone who can play with me for .001 to .003 per game. I prefer full members above but i will accept members and below if they can put their bets on escrow

Lol do you even think that even a junior member will scam you for this amount?
Secondly escrow? Are you serious man for just .001 btc? Are you going to cover the escrow fees  Grin (no offence)

C'mon man, there were instances that people were scamming for $0.5 - $1.00 but yeah i think its pointless escrowing an amount of .001 - .003BTC

TBH i played 2 or 3 account members on here who didnt pay me when they lost, granted that was at 9 ball pool and i kicked their ass but still.  I cant really be bothered to name names but yeah people dont always pay up even for tiny amounts.  Im not sure i could be bothered with escrow either way.

If you want to make sure people pay up i guess you have to make sure you are playing the right people.
989  Economy / Gambling / Re: Free poker on: June 30, 2015, 03:46:00 AM
All bro,
I hope to know where still have free poker can play?

Hey Bro,

You can play plenty of free poker, you can play freerolls on just about every site these days where you can win realy money and cost yourself nothing but time.

You can also play with play chips and not win real money but just learn how the sites and games function.

Hope that helps.
990  Other / Politics & Society / If threat of violence is the lowest form of persuasion what is the highest? on: June 29, 2015, 10:16:28 AM

If threat of violence is the lowest form of persuasion what is the highest?  (unless you can think of something lower than threat of violence)

Just a word exercise, make the sentence more correct if you like. Perhaps a scale, is so what would be in the middle?
991  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hufflepuff Making 2k BTC On PrimeDice Nov 2014. March 2015 Update: He Cheated on: June 29, 2015, 10:04:43 AM
Just read the article. Can't the same exploits be made on almost all the sites ?

Maybe, but I would assume Hufflepuff should have also checked the other sites after PD fixed the problem completely and launched the same attack if it is feasible. Until now, I haven't heard of any comparably amazing win on the other sites.

If he is exploiting it on other sites, maybe he is now trying to be more subtile, so they don't notice and fix the flaw?  Grin

I agree, I think that in total our dear hufflepuff withdrew far more 'of 2037 btc from  primedice, maybe he has exploited other sites...

Its possible huff could have took very large percentages out of the whole bitcoin gambling economy if he managed $8000 per secound at primedice.  Hes probably sat on a beach somewhere earning 20% working out how to hack the next bitcoin site. Undecided
992  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hufflepuff Making 1000 Bitcoin Profit On PrimeDice. Update: HP Makes 2k - Video on: June 29, 2015, 08:23:53 AM
Edited out for now, will edit in with the full details later. It would be preferable for people to be presented the full story rather than vague details here and there.

I just stumbled upon this post, claiming to be from Stunna:

Stunna has also posted that link in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=208986.msg11740956#msg11740956, so yup it is the real official report.

Yeah interesting, i have updated the OP and put this link https://medium.com/@Stunna/breaking-the-house-63f1021a3e6d and quoted the story for historical archive.
993  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Beamer 2015 WSOP World Series of Poker Sponsorship‏ on: June 28, 2015, 07:08:26 PM
Your odds to get into the money prizes are very very low.
Its too hard to beat the pro's

In the WSOP there are tons of fish, anyone half decent at live poker has an edge.  The high quality pros are no problem when there is only 1 or 2 per table.  You can just avoid the better players and pray off the fish like the pros will be doing anyway.
994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tony Gallippi of BitPay suggests $600 by September on: June 28, 2015, 04:26:47 PM
To me that seems extremely unlikely. I just can't see Grexit doing much for bitcoin.

In my opinion what we need is a new killer application. Like what Silk Road did.

No use = no uptrend.

We've had uptrends before with less use then bitcoin has right now.  If left alone bitcoin does tend to go up over time.  A killer app would be nice for fast growth but i think we'll see growth all the same like in the past.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discussion about Wimbledon 2015 on: June 28, 2015, 04:21:31 PM
I would say djokovic or murray, and it is likely to see a final with them,it's too difficult for other players

These are the big 2 to watch out for but you wont get much decent odds on them, maybe a player like wawrinka could be a good pick.  He is in good form and is not bad on grass as we have seen in previous years.
996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin was accepted everywhere would you use it? on: June 28, 2015, 03:57:58 PM
I am curious as to why and who would use bitcoin if it was accepted everywhere.

I know it would be great for everyone who has invested into bitcoin, but if it was just as accepted as money would you still be as inclined to use it?

If you have a business that involves bitcoin or you have some sort of exchange then I can see it being a great thing for demand, but why would you use it if you could just as easily use fiat money?

Many of us would have something like 90% net work in bitcoin if everyone accepted it other night.  You would have to use it to live your new richer lifestyle.  You cant spend anything when you are gone remember.

998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My new way of getting rid of cold callers. on: June 28, 2015, 01:29:59 PM
I think I hate telemarketers more...  Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

Some of them phone from places in another time zone... I get phone calls or Sms's at the weirdest times.

Next time, I am going to play along... and when it comes down to payment... I will demand for payment to be done in Bitcoin.

Once they get the hang of it, and switch to Bitcoin... I will just switch to another shitcoin to shake them off.

Sales calls is something i still get tons of until i found this easy and fun method of getting them back:

Its now no longer a problem  Grin
999  Economy / Gambling / Re: Womens World Cup, Who will win? on: June 28, 2015, 01:19:02 PM

Just finished watching england beat canada on repeat since it was on live late in the morning last night.  Pretty shocked england won the game but they deserved it.  Still think they could be in trouble vs any of the other 3 teams left in the comp but who knows perhaps they can out strength the skill of japan.

USA vs Germany i'd pick USA after seeing how poor germany were vs france.
1000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Matonis: If Bitcoin XT Succeeds You Can Kiss 21 Million Cap Goodbye on: June 28, 2015, 10:18:33 AM
People would just switch back to core.  This is a non issue.

Jon explains in the video that he believes user consensus will eventually support a 21 million cap change. He uses various welfare programs as examples.

If you want to pay me what my bitcoins are worth @ the 21 million cap level then fine, if not then no way i support the change, think most of other people would see it this way until bitcoin is more mainstream.
