982  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: *Catalyst 12.1 Preview* Decreased performance, anyone else confirm? on: December 18, 2011, 02:07:56 AM
Updated to 11.12 except for the app sdk. GPU usage is higher than before. I had to decrease intensity to keep the cards at the same temperatures they were running before the update. Speed is the same as before, CPU bug is gone.
983  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Looking for lenders on: December 17, 2011, 04:25:56 PM
I only started 2 days ago, so no interest yet.

But all the fields, Payments, Deposits and Withdrawals are empty, and I suppose that at least my initial deposit should be showing up on the Deposits, yet it's not, only shows up at the top of the page, right beside my username.

Same on my side. Good to see progress here. I hope Pirate keeps up the good work and our coins safe Wink

987  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: December 16, 2011, 04:33:29 PM
Below 85c there is nothing to worry about long term.

Hmmm for me it's more like below 70C and 50% fanspeed. But to each his own.

989  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] GEM - Invest in Diamonds!!! on: December 15, 2011, 05:50:56 PM
Wink how much more do u have to pay for IF or VVS diamonds ? Since the stones are very small, the clarity won't be a big problem. Colour seems to be fine.

Try AMD GPU Clock tool. Don't know if it works with 5970 but it's worth a try.

I think you have a good product. But you advertised it 3 months too early (with specs you guessed) imo.

I understand completely and I will have some more offers like that very soon.

I have several higher value stones available for sale and am in the process of adding them to my site. Once I have good pics available I will also post some here.

This GLBSE listing is meant more as an experiment in Bitcoin economics and tying BTC value to a physical commodity.

If you are looking for "investment grade" stones, I will be posting some very soon Wink

Cool thanks for the info.

Looks like beta stage to me. The prize is interesting. The hashrate and power requirements not really. With 5 ztex boards you mine at 950+ MH/s @ 50 watts.

I like the idea of purchasing gems with bitcoins. I would not mind to pay 30 and more BTC for a nice stone but for that we need better pics and more information. Something in this direction http://www.gemselect.com/sapphire/sapphire-304593.php
1000  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1100 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, LP, SSL, Instant Payout on: December 12, 2011, 06:48:46 PM
Reject rate is higher than GPUs (Hard to compete with < 0.1%), but even so the speed I'm measuring is valid shares only.

Why some shares are rejected?

Invalid shares should not occur since all submitted shares are double checked, by the FPGA and by the software.

Duplicate shares are possible since BTCMiner re-sends shares if pool server does not reply within timeout time.

Stales are possible too. (A stale reduction algorithm is planned for future).

BTW, BTCMiner counts only successfully submitted shares with a valid response as "submitted shares".

I can't tell you why !? It just came to my eyes when i was watching the statistics.
