Where is the wallet data stored in Windows 7?
I want to delete the wallet and start with a new one. I tried to delete the "%appdata%/Electrum-P" folder, but that didn't help.
Normal version: %appdata%/Electrum Portable version: same folder as the executable |

EDIT: A couple of issues related to the new 'use change address' setting have been fixed in 0.59b, available now.

As of 0.59, in the console, it is now possible to just type 'e' for electrum.  So, for example:

There seems to be a little bug in the history command: notice the "1e+12" at the end. Running 0.58, and the wallet has 509 transactions. Not sure what other details to give.

I will check if I can do that in a clean way, but here's a tip: you can just type 'el' then hit TAB to autocomplete the name (Yes I do speak some French too!) |

Thanks. I just changed a few design details (colors, fonts, window size):
I also inverted the checkbox for the change address. Now it never creates a change address unless i check the box.
I changed the text next to the checkbox to: "Create change address"

bitcoin-qt has a flaw when you have thousands of transactions It starts to be a CPU and memory hog. Plus it looks like it was done in VB6. The GUI is crap, please go back to one of the beta designs as it was far superior.
I'm running this on windows, setting the priory to low, and setting the affinity to only using 2 CPU's on bitcoin-qt.exe. No real change, still a hog.
The client started to become a more of a resource whore around the ~1000 transactions mark... not sure 100% tho. I'm a little over 11k transactions.. and doing more and more everyday.
I've tried multibit, and Electrum.. both sux imho... May give multibit another try, but hate running java.. *sigh*
I know of a few other users with the same issue... From my conclusion it seems that the bitcoin client does not like to have thousands and thousands of transactions
Any suggestions?
Just curious, care to explain why you didn't like Electrum and MultiBit? Have you tried both recently? |

I think i found one mini external bug: "Download" and "Portable" link is the same for v0.58.
And a question: Addresses are now huge compared to label names (they look tiny). Is it normal that the font for "Label" tab is different?

Everything works fine now! Please take a look at the colors: http://i48.tinypic.com/73ibee.jpgAs you see, in Vista it is a bit difficult to clearly distinguish this colors. Would it be possible to choose a kind of orange/red background for the frozen addresses? Another question: Thomas wrote some days ago, that the consolas font could be added as an option. Is this realizable? I send you some bacon  Adding preference dialogs for font and color customization can be done by Thomas but I don't think it's a big priority for him at the moment. For colors, have a look here: http://colorschemedesigner.com/ Just tell me the RGB codes for your preferred colors, and I can point you to the relevant changes you can make to the code (or provide you with a patch, as you prefer). |

The change you made for seedless wallets wasn't strictly necessary, as my fix had already taken that into account (even though that wasn't easily apparent, I admit).
does that mean that a single call to setCurrentIndex would have been sufficient? please explain things; do not assume others have information you do not share. No, a single call doesn't fix it, but switching to the contacts tab (index 3 for seeded wallets) then back to history does. And then I added the setCurrentIndex(2) to account for the seedless mode. that means that a single call to setCurrentIndex() is sufficient. No, I've tested that, it's 2 calls, in each case. Ok, 058-2 works for me. If cp866 is copied to 058-1 Electrum_SysFiles it works too.
But is there any explanation why cp866 is needed at all? R047a lacks it and still works fine.
I think it's due to some of the new localization code that was added in the meantime. |

that works, what exactly does it do? I assume it doesn't need to connect to the server, since that obviously doesn't work? You're correct, -o is offline mode. It just gets the information from your existing wallet file. |

Exactly why this works, I have no idea - I'm currently not a Python coder at all, so that was just a quick hack, found through experimenting. The root cause of the issue could be a bug in the Windows implementation of PyQt, but I'm not sure. |

That way, you can keep using numbers as values, as for the Tx column, and easily avoid dealing with the ugly "1 times" case.
and how do you deal with the ugly column width and wasted screen real estate that this will create? Yes you're right... Or just "Payments" as title, then? Or you can leave it like now, not such a big deal. (even though I don't like to see "1 times" but OK...) Or another option: "Rx" (short for "received", the natural opposite of "Tx") By the way, thanks for merging my magic fix . For some reason all non-compact builds give the "Not enough memory!" warning when I try to run them in console mode. I think you don't need to bother with it anymore as long as I'm the only one having this problem, since the workaround works ok. OK, but just to be sure, which exactly is the workaround that works ok for you? Also, what do you mean by non-compact builds? Which ones? Also, it would be nice if you could post a screenshot of the "not enough memory" error. (Just for my reference.) |
