981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Waste of time on: January 17, 2015, 04:00:43 AM
What makes Bitcoin different is the cryptography it's based on. If you don't understand that, it's obvious that you think that it's all bullshit.
982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cold storage - HACKED easily on: January 17, 2015, 03:38:34 AM
What's 0 Kelvin Storage? Never Heard of it before!

Well, it's sarcastic. 0 Kelvin is the coldest temperature posible:

Thanks For sharing This!
If cold storage isn't safe then where do we store our coins securely? Huh

0 Kelvin storage, of course

just send them when there is still even a little sings of life

You either believe in the currency or you don't. You can't be in both sides.
985  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin RIP, January 2009 - 13 January 2015 on: January 16, 2015, 11:41:58 PM
Seems like it did not finally died on 13 of January 2015.

Do we have any other candidate date?

no, its the day its started dying painful slow death..

If it's a slow death, how can you determine the exact date it started?
986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cold storage - HACKED easily on: January 16, 2015, 02:26:33 PM
what you it seems that you do not understand or you do not want to say is that :

"Even if the manufacturer (https://bitcoin.org/) claims that it runs open-source code, how do you tell whether it is actually running what you compiled?" Verbücheln said.

with other words: MANY developers worldwide are working in their free time to a project, in this case, Bitcoin. That's why it's called OPEN SOURCE.

These developers can put anything they want INTO  the source code: ".... that some pieces of open-source code are so large and complex that even a dedicated community of developers may not detect a malicious addition."

So, COLD Storage can be easily hacked. Smiley

That is true for any open source project, even the Linux kernel.
987  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you make money from the falling bitcoin price yesterday on: January 16, 2015, 05:05:44 AM
I sure did. That was exciting. Grin

hey, but is it not the bitcoiners philosophy to use Bitcoin as currency only without any speculation?
Huh No, it is not. That sounds like a rather poorly conceived philosophy in any case, as a currency needs speculators to provide liquidity.

tell that to the hordes who sustain something else Smiley
you can find tons of post with "Bitcoin is not for speculation"

Anyone is free to do with Bitcoin what one pleases. Some try to use it as a currency, some hold it as an investment. I don't agree with the latter, but there's nothing I can do about it.
988  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you make money from the falling bitcoin price yesterday on: January 16, 2015, 03:02:32 AM
hey, but is it not the bitcoiners philosophy to use Bitcoin as currency only without any speculation? LOL

It's my philosophy at least. I didn't “win” money. All bitcoins I've bought are either in my wallet, or I already spent them on stuff online. I never change them back to fiat.
989  Economy / Speculation / Re: We missed the moon on: January 15, 2015, 02:40:17 AM
But, seriously. What does it actually mean to “reach the Moon” for Bitcoin? Is it about the price? I don't think it should be. It should be about global adoption. Only when everyone can buy groceries with Bitcoin can we say that we have reached the Moon.
990  Economy / Speculation / Re: We missed the moon on: January 15, 2015, 02:38:45 AM
"Shoot for the moon and if you miss you will still be among the stars." - Les Brown

Shoot for the moon. If you miss, shoot again. Keep shooting and never stop.

Someday, one of us will destroy that stupid skycircle.
991  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 5 Reasons Why You Should Take Cold Showers on: January 14, 2015, 06:06:42 PM
Ah, I thought it said "Gold Showers," and I was ready to dispute the value of gold with regard to Bitcoin. Such is life.

Smiley

I don't think that means what you think it means.
992  Economy / Speculation / Re: I predicted it, SO now what do you do? on: January 14, 2015, 04:25:20 PM
I predicted it, SO now what do you do?

Wow. You predicted it. And you were right. Do you want a monument?

994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin RIP, the day bitcoin died- 3 January 2009 - 13 January 2015 on: January 13, 2015, 11:34:57 PM
The great bit coin monetary experiment is over. All that's left is to switch off the bit coin servers.

What bitcoin servers? Where are they located?
995  Economy / Speculation / Re: There will be no lower price - now only UP on: January 13, 2015, 09:26:59 PM

996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can u still have reasons to keep ur bitcoin? on: January 13, 2015, 08:46:22 PM
Bitcoin must be regarded as a long-term investment instrument and not a currency right now if you ask me because the fluctuations are too great.

I think that's the problem, actually. When people start treating it as an actual currency, the fluctuations will begin to lower.
997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bitcoin story for the average joe on: January 13, 2015, 08:40:10 PM
Having $0 money does not equal living on the streets. If you had previously bought a house, and some time after you find yourself with no money, the house doesn't simply vanish. You can still sell it and rent somewhere less expensive. Also, I assume you continue working, right?
998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bitcoin story for the average joe on: January 13, 2015, 07:55:21 PM
Step 12. When Bitcoin crashes down to $0, go to Home depot get some quality rope

In such a case, I would have no money at all. Are you implying I should steal that rope?
999  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin RIP, the day bitcoin died- 3 January 2009 - 13 January 2015 on: January 13, 2015, 07:52:55 PM
Too bad Bitcoin is dead. As you can see here, no new transactions are being generated. I guess if I try to send all my bitcoins they will be stuck forever unconfirmed.
1000  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin lost its future and right to exist on: January 13, 2015, 07:48:14 PM
Now that QE has stopped

What do you mean by this?

It doesn't bring anything new to the table anymore that current monetary system doesn't solve a hundred times more efficient.

Yes, because a decentralized mathematically unhackable currency is what we already had for years.
