You shouldn't stop here to do your own research. Anyone and even a member with a good reputation can be fooled one day. You also need to learn how future project prospects are, even if you believe the project is safe from potential scams.
So far, Hhampuz hasn't stated that this is his project. I don't think Hhampuz will be fully responsible for your losses.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - New coreupdate - Odarhom! on: May 27, 2020, 09:36:28 PM
If Hhampuz posted a project here, it means he accepted the job of posting the project on behalf of the team because he believes that this is a legit project.
Reputable BMs usually don't accept the job of representing a project unless he is truly convinced with the intentions of the project.
So let's see if this will really be indeed a good project to watch out for or not...

As those number approach near 1 ms, we'll begin hitting the usb bus limit per miner.
Those other chip states were part of an earlier attempt to sense per chip health.
The extra details is for the early phase releases and sidehack's burn in testing.

They'll fade further into the debug logs in future builds as they become un-interesing for normal use.

@cjsummers82
new build (0d524aa) : works with prohashing.com in --gekko-noboost mode.   they report vmask support but then rejects shares.  adding to review later pile.

vh,

Any update on ASICBOOST functionality for prohashing.com on the newest version of cgminer?  The newpac sticks accept asicboost on previous versions/releases of cgminer (@ 3339a51), but do not on the current release(s).

Thanks!

--gekko-r606-freq

Cool, at least the pools on the supported list are behaving for the miner.
If you would like me to take a closer look at prohashing.com, sent me a pm with a user I can send work shares to.
Ideally your full run syntax to mimic what you see.

Thanks, pm sent.

Device is seeing ~1 TH/s on kano pool currently!

What do the 3 sets of numbers in parenthesis mean after frequency settings in this version of cgminer?

I am seeing 100% reject rate through this pool anyway; kano and others are accepting shares.  Rejection error states "version_bits must be null bec"

https://ibb.co/Kb6w2c5

Also, has the syntax changed for frequency?  This version seems to always set target at 400, regardless of setting.  Using --gekko-newpac-freq xxx

Thanks!

R606s are starting to appear in the wild.   Grin

I am getting all rejected shares when using prohashing.com pool, with and without asicboost enabled.

What is the appropriate/correct version of cgminer to be running with these devices?  I am currently running version (April 26 @ 5c757f5) posted by vh on 4-26-19, here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5053833.msg50506833#msg50506833

Thanks!

You are welcome.

I'm little confused. This thread title says 100GH/s but the link point to 130 GH/s. So is it the same? How can you push them to 130 GH/s?

And where is the 8 port HUB. I don't see it on the link.

 Embarrassed

If you overclock them, they can reach up to 130 GH/s.  This will require significant active cooling, as well as a high quality powered hub -- here is the link for the GekkoScience one I am using: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PP9SJ1R/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_.TjSCb6VCT63R

Hey guys,

I am having some difficulty with the newpacs and hope someone can shed some light. Currently, I am running 6 newpacs off of a BrovSS USB hub with active cooling. All of the sticks are connected to this hub. The frequency they are running off of is 100 Mhz each. The version of cgminer is the gekkoscience cgminer 4.1 and using on Windows 10. I have been able to mine a couple blocks but eventually cgminer displays a “GSH 3 missing nonces” and “GSH 4 missing nonces” and then displays “Toggling reset on GSH 3” amd “Toggling reset on GSH” and my worker goes offline and have to reboot everything each time. Again, I appreciate any help someone can offer.

I am running 5 sticks at 500 mhz+ with sidehacks GekkoScience USB hub -- hardly get any nonce errors nor do devices frequently reset.  With active cooling, this setup has been rock solid.  I was able to keep it up and running without issues for 2+ weeks without a reboot when I was on vacation last month.

What is the PCB heat threshold for these devices?  What temp do I need to start worrying about long term damage to chip/components?

Thanks!

I don't recall explicitly adjusting anything related to hardware error percentages.
Try attaching a screen shot of what you notice was omitted in this build.

Not much has changed recently on the display side.

Jan 2017 (about two years ago)

Dec 2018 (this build)

If you are comparing pre 4.10, I wouldn't be able to answer.

There would probably be some notes in GitHub.

Now that I've looked at further, I see that cgminer hasn't included HW % rate; I was confusing it with bfgminer I suppose.
My apologies.

A new build is available (9d66fd3):

Windows binary: cgminer-4.11.1-windows-gekko-9d66fd3.7z

  - Fixed datetime display.

  - Closed gaps in data transmission to reduce line power fluxations.
    - Spin off dedicated work tx thread.
    - Switch from blocking get_work to get_queued.
    - Send null work to keep asic busy during network glitches and when pool is reacting to block events.

Reminder best practice update process: keep old working (or favorite) build readily available.
  • move the existing "cgminer" folder to "cgminer.yyyymmdd"
  • clone repository to create a new cgminer folder as noted from first post instructions.

vh:
Thanks for the update!  I noticed that the hardware error percentage rate has been removed/omitted from this version...was that intentional?
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R808 Miner Official Support Thread on: April 21, 2018, 05:04:28 PM
Where/what spots on the Terminus can I use for checking voltage appropriately? I have an analog multi-meter, just unsure of the correct contact points for positive & ground.

Thanks!

Up to 8 of these now which is probably as far as I will go. All are running happily at max speed and completely stable.

Impressive....are you running at max frequency?  Do you have core voltage maxed out as well?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread on: February 01, 2018, 08:24:22 PM
I have been toying with the frequency and voltage on my MLD...whenever I get above 796 mhz, and play with voltage to get HW errors to minimal, after hashing for several hours, it will start hashing at half the rate it was (i.e. 4 mh/s to 2 mh/s), but the HW errors do not increase.  I can start/stop the stick, and it again starts hashing ~4 mh/s, but after 4+ hours starts to reduce again.  Have verified heat not an issue (hottest heatsink gets is 48-52 C), and seems to keep steady hash rate at lower frequencies.  Any ideas?
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: June 08, 2017, 04:29:38 PM

For some reason sounds like the chip is not getting enough power to run anymore.
Move around the PC and try a port on a different controller or use a powered hub (recommended).

[/quote]

I have tried all the ports, on multiple computers, and with a powered hub....with same results.  :-(
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: June 08, 2017, 01:52:17 PM
I'm having some issues with a 2Pac, wondering if anyone has any ideas...

Was working fine; PC rebooted unexpectedly, and now I cannot get cgminer to recognize it. (have tried multiple PCs, fresh installs, etc.)
-Green light stays illuminated
-Windows recognizes device - shows in devices and printers
-when i run cgminer.exe -n, it finds device, and lists as GekkoScience 2PAC Bitcoin Miner
-when cgminer.exe is run either via batch or just launching the executable - always states 'No devices found'  (cgminer build is confirmed working with other 2Pacs)
-have verified and re-installed winUSB driver via zadig 2.3
-checked with mutimeter - pulling 0.02a, 5v, 0.217w

any ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
CJ

Hi, just to clarify! You have 3 Sticks, 2 are working in the same Computer and with the same Cgminer (VH's) version, but 1 stick is not working? is that so?

There were 2 devices running on this machine at one point, one of those devices is no longer being used.  The single stick that I have currently was running on this PC without issue prior.
Thanks,
CJ
