1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto NFT PROJECT on: September 28, 2023, 06:07:27 PM
I haven't seen anybody post about what would be my biggest worry if I were trying out alternative block chains. I realize this may be perceived as "Gavin is FUD'ding anything that isn't bitcoin!"  (FUD == Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt)  But I think some of you might be forgetting some basic computer security fundamentals in the excitement to be early adopters.

When I first heard about bitcoin, my questions were:

1) Can it possibly work (do the ideas for how it works make sense)?
2) Is it a scam?
3) If it is not a scam, could it open my computer up to viruses/trojans if I run it?

I answered those questions by:

1) Reading and understanding Satoshi's whitepaper.  Then thinking about it for a day or two and reading it again.
2) Finding out everything I could about the project.  I read every forum thread here (there were probably under a hundred threads back then) and read Satoshi's initial postings on the crypto mailing list.
3) Downloaded and skimmed the source code to see if it looked vulnerable to buffer overflow or other remotely exploitable attacks.

If I were going to experiment with an alternative block-chain, I'd go through the same process again. But I'm an old conservative fuddy-duddy.

If you want to take a risk on a brand-new alternative block-chain, I'd strongly suggest that you:

1) Run the software in a virtual machine or on a machine that doesn't contain anything valuable.
2) Don't invest more money or time than you can afford to lose.
3) Use a different passphrase at every exchange site.

How Rare Pepe NFTs Reclaimed Pepe the Frog—And Why They Remain Relevant
Pepe the Frog isn’t just one of the oldest internet memes, he’s also one of the oldest NFTs. After Pepe was briefly associated with the alt right, Web3 reclaimed the meme.

It's no secret to veterans and newly indoctrinated DeFi "degens'' that memes are as native to Web3 as Satoshi's Bitcoin white paper is to Bitcoin. And when it comes to anthropomorphic characters nestled throughout the NFT world, there's nothing more at home in crypto than Pepe the Frog.
While Pepe may not be getting the kind of buzz and attention these days that Bored Apes and CryptoPunks are, look no further than this for a sign of Pepe’s lasting appeal in the NFT world: In October, a one-of-one Rare Pepe NFT called "Pepenopoulos” (created in 2016) sold at a Sotheby's auction for $3.6 million.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans for this year on: January 12, 2019, 03:29:30 PM
Everyone keeps saying 2019 will be profitable for the crypto community... but in life I've had to learn things the hard way.. which makes me always want to look into things in 2 ways no matter the odds

What if 2019 is the beginning of another dump?? What would you do as a investor?? Wait till your portfolio goes to zero?? ... or sell whatever is left of it??
Today's prediction is that many say that a big dump will occur, investors will quickly carry out many strategies. even now I have seen many investors have panic. this makes the market condition increasingly chaotic
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: do we still have hope to be able to see bull run?? on: January 12, 2019, 03:26:08 PM
now the market falls again, do we still have hope to be able to see bull run. no one knows when the market can recover. even with the many good news about the ethereum hardfork unable to make the market jump. so I thought bull run would only be a dream for all of us.
many crypto world analysis experts say, they make an analyst that the market conditions will recover again when they touch the year 2021. it is only a prediction, but there is a lot of evidence that their predictions are becoming a reality.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safe Bounty hunters on: January 09, 2019, 05:35:35 PM
I hope Bitcointalk will start caring about its people ,there should be new moderators that can fish out bad projects on here to avoid wasting time of bounty hunters ,and about KYC ive come to think of it as many bounty hunters don't like KYC I'm sure if Bitcointalk is the one asking for KYC so as to limit frauds and multiple accounts bounty hunters won't complain, we will follow the rules ,but first 'SAFE US FROM BAD SCAMMY PROJECTS' ,no matter how wise we investigate a project they end up been scam ,scammers are getting wiser as well.looook at desico for example Shocked Can anyone tell me if he/she knew Desico is a scam from day one? I guess not
Your thinking is logical, I agree with that, but if possible, I add, at this time there are many projects that will investigate a scam ICO so that our ICO project for bounty will minimize the occurrence of scams. just look at the project project movements. You can also find it on various websites that provide it.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have to invest in bitcoin or ethereum. on: December 19, 2018, 05:52:20 AM
I see that BTC and ETH are two coins that have the highest capitalization in Coinmarketcap.
But I don't know why Bitcoin is still up and ETH always maintains current prices.
Why did that happen? And now, I have to invest in Bitcoin or Ethereum?
thank you
in my opinion, if the price of ethereum is still down it's because investors are panicking and turning to bitcoin which is considered to be a good alternative in terms of investment. but if in my opinion if you really want good results to exceed 100% I think 2021 will be the year of bitcoin for Bull Run.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have I joined at the wrong time? on: November 14, 2018, 08:35:07 AM

I am newbie and some of my friends who are already into crypto market say I am late. This isn't the time to start investments and I must refrain and just research for later.

Do you think the same? Is it really not the time to invest as a beginner?
long ago, the crypto world always kept a mystery for a number of people who want to invest.
this is because many events cannot be easily predicted.
if you are going to invest for the long term, I don't think there is a problem there. but if you really want a short term, you have to be more patient because now the crypto market is less friendly.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We can’t trust anyone! on: November 02, 2018, 11:19:22 PM
Hey guys. Remember, in crypto sphere we can’t trust anyone! ICO rating sites are lying to us, you have to do YOUR OWN RESEARCH always! Remember this, and don’t let yourself be scammed!
For now, I think there are many supporting factors in trusting a project. not all ICO sites are fraudulent. many of them are official and legally incorporated.
it's just that indeed we need to be careful especially about a project that indeed the existence of the team is still a mystery.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for ICO, is it good or bad idea? on: November 01, 2018, 04:17:19 AM
Hi, everybody. With the development of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, not only good ideas and projects began to develop, but also those who want to get a lot of money on the HYIP,  use new technologies for their personal purposes. Projects began to carry out the KYC procedure for investors, airdrops, bounties to protect their projects from prosecution by the authorities, to improve security, to know their investors in person. But maybe we can use the KYC procedure not only for buyers but also for sellers. If we introduce such a procedure for new projects, it will increase the level of investor confidence, as well as deter many fake projects from collecting our funds, protect our crypto assets from fraud. This procedure can be entered in this forum to host projects or in special platform. The project developer will have to provide his personal and contact details.
Do you think this is a good or bad idea? Express your opinion.
very good in my opinion ,.
with KYC, a project will be safer because it is protected by an authorized legal entity. and we will know the spread of tokens or coins that are owned by a project so that we can monitor the development of tokens or coins. can also avoid fraud.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency ever going to replace Fiat? on: October 18, 2018, 05:29:54 AM
This is true, for certain circles, they cannot enjoy this crypto technology, because it is indeed limited to the charity.
but it is not surprising that cryptocurrency today around the world has become a good spotlight and will be able to make very good developments in the future.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP can be used for real payments! on: October 02, 2018, 09:51:33 AM
Most critics of cryptocurrency always point out that the currencies cannot be used for payments in real life. Recently, XRP are now used for payments in three companies. I become optimistic on altcoins when I knew this. Share your thought on Altcoins as payments below.
XRP has always been created as a digital currency to process transactions in the real world in the future, this is shown because XRP already has a very good target. namely making a technological innovation that can connect fiat money with crypto well.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Question on: October 02, 2018, 09:49:32 AM
Is it normal that projects will not pay bounty rewards because their sales doesnt reached the target?

Is the bounty manager will be liable to here even its not in their control that ICO failed?

I want to joined Soc Med campaign but I read somewhere that some projects really dont pay at end because of ICO failure.
Yes, they usually do things like that.
if the softcap minimum target is not achieved, then usually a project will be frozen or suspended and can even be failed and never run again.
looking for a bounty project that already has a research base on a good project.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advertising at google or promote social media? on: October 02, 2018, 09:47:09 AM

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the difference beetween ICO 2017 and ICO 2018? on: September 19, 2018, 01:17:33 PM
In 2017, keen investors saw the bullish market and invested in any ICO in sight.
Fast forward to 2018, and most of these ICO’s are dead, dying, or a scam. Grin Grin Grin Grin

So, what is the difference beetween ICO 2017 and ICO 2018?

in my view so far, compared to ICOs that have died or failed, ICOs who have high success are those who are able to develop unique products and have better benefits and of course have a good marketing strategy.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the rise in 2018 be the same as in 2017? on: September 19, 2018, 01:13:05 PM
What are your plans for the crypt at the end of 2018?
Are you waiting for the repetition of the events of the end of 2017?

I think that there will be no strong trend, because there are no prerequisites for this. Many people are waiting for take-off, but I think that this take-off will be only in 2019.
I appreciate your opinion, however, no one knows about the market conditions that will occur.
down or going up fantastic is a difficult thing to talk about.
in the previous year too, nothing that underlies prices will soar but in fact it can happen with many people who do not expect it.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Most reputable bounty on: August 16, 2018, 05:43:08 AM
Can you name the most reputable campaign managers you know? I've been involved in a lot of bounty projects, almost all of them scams, anyone who has this status is like me, Please list me some reputable bounty managers so that I can join, thank you

Hi friend, I think if there is fraud, it's not a 100% error from the manager bounty. because they only set the marketing of the project being run, for the distribution of control held by the team of a project.
but if you really want a bonty manager who has experience, maybe the team from amazix community can help you solve your solution. https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@amazix
and please you can visit this thread for more details in choosing a good bounty so that it can minimize the risk.
