1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox and void trades: Force Majeure on: May 11, 2021, 10:06:29 PM
Question for someone who may have done this or knows more. How do you sue a Crypto exchange and where do you initiate it? I live in US however what happens if the exchange does not have any presence in US?

HITBTC seems to be systematically blocking thoughts of users from accessing their account in pretense of security and a class action suite seems to be the only option left. Any one has any idea how to peruse this? Any attorney who may be willing to take this?

Any help in this regards is appreciated.

Hi Guys,

Needs some help with Wallet. I have a wallet running on a machine which does not have a SSD. This machines was down for few days and since then this wallet had never been able to finish syncing. It had older version of wallet and I upgraded it to 1.5.3-unk however that did not make any difference. It shows 700K transaction left to sync then comes as low as 2k and then goes back to 700K again (91% done to 99% and then back to 91%).

I then installed new wallet version on another machine with SSD and moved the Wallet.dat. This new machine shows everything in the wallet except for balance which is Zero. This one syncs completely in no time thought.

I tried a few more things to work around the situation however no luck so far. I tried sending coins from non SSD wallet to SSD wallet, it shows transaction as successful however I never received the same on other wallet. The wallet ID or transaction ID gets shows as invalid on Block explorer. I then created a wallet on Coin exchange and did the same excersice of transfer however got exact same result.

Any help or pointer as where to go for help would be appreciated.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding BTC at this satge is a bad idea? on: December 07, 2018, 12:45:33 AM
BTC is showing weakness and loosing ground day by day I think it is the time for the investors to book profit who are on profit and minimize losses who already suffered a big loss. Can anybody enlighten me on this issue now?

About three days ago I did a survey here,

90% of commenter's agreed that bitcoin is heading to $1k, and will test that floor before heading to $400, now here is where the cognitive dissonance becomes unreal, they all TELL OTHER TO HODL

You can be sure if one our day-traders here is sure BTC is going to $1k, why not sell now at $4k, and then pick up 4X btc in jan/feb post collapse ( I'm assuming the next collapse will come post xmas/new-year, just like this year )

Enlighten you with the TRUTH?

Everybody here knows BTC is going down and hard, but everybody here tells the OTHER GUY TO HODL, which is sociopathic, which means that the majority here want to see other people get hurt.

...

This is a common psychological problem with stocks, people buy with no firm loss in mind on the way down, and worse is the 'noise' of millions of assholes saying "HODL"

The problem is 'drawdown' if you already lost 1/2 your stake, then why not stop the loss, its going down, then you could buy more if your stupid enough to think its going back up,

Problem here I have asked now two weeks and never get an answer "Where in the FUCK is the new sucker money going to come from to reinflate the crypto bubble?" $800 BILLION USD has 'evaporated', almost a Trillion Dollars would have to COME-BACK to bring BTC back

They can't answer the question, because there is no new money coming to BITCOIN.

Lastly, most likely all these are BOTS posting "HODL", just like this OP "SATGE", it seems that the morons love to mis-spell, as a sign of intelligence. Most likely here we have BOTS feeding BOTS, but the subliminal is all the same "HODL" ( whatever the fuck that means, ... ) I guess in court when exchanges are sued they can argue that HODL, didn't really mean buy&hold.

I am no expert in trading but to answer your question where that trillion dollar is going to come, the answer is exactly same place where that 800 Billion dollars came last year :-).

Do you not agree that adoption, real life usage, acceptance and awareness is much more higher for Crypto as what it was last year (or rather 11 months ago in Jan)? Even state of Ohio has formalize BTC (how so ever symbolize it is as of now). There are more then 100 reputed and otherwise companies including Microsoft is accepting BTC to buy product.

The one thing I am failing to understand the reason for people's sentiment which is driving bearish market? I understand that BCH fight initiated a mass shell out for a few weeks however why all every one (including old timers) are predicting such gloomy projection? What is the worry and what changed?

I am also failing to understand who are the people who are continue to keep selling it despite now it is almost a year low price (3500)? If someone bought BTC post Jan 18 and price higher then 3500, I am assuming most of those people have already sold thier BTCs out (with may be exception of few). So I am surprise if someone bought it a year ago and willing to sell it now for very little to no profit?

I think my biggest question is what is the reason for worry now?Huh?

Each currency fluctuates based on the economics of that region/country however those fluctuations for each compared to other are not liner. In that case how your Crypto will be valued. For example if USD is going up versus EURO is going down, will this currency go up or down?

Also what problem are you trying to solve by this project? It may also beneficial to state your capabilities (like if you are Developer or Marketer etc.) and what you are looking in your partner to get more interest from people.

Introducing Excalibur OS: Worlds First OS with Mining Management System

Today we want to introduce Excalibur Operating System, which will solve the issue of mining as it has built-in mining management feature so user can mine cryptocurrency by their own, It also solves the problem of Viruses and Data Theft by its unique method of data security system, and additionally it solves second major issue of System users in which the users can now experience different platforms application on Excalibur, which means application files from major OS will be supported by Excalibur Operating System. It also has the feature of Blockchain based Mining Management System, in which user can mine, trade & user can add their own script of tokens.

This OS has inbuilt virus protection system and anti-theft system which lets users have experience of a virus free and data security system. The Operating System also solves the problem of Mining by its unique Mining Management System which can mine and manage your coin and have script editing system in which you can add newly launched coin by just adding their script. Users can mine coin with better efficiency because of its enhanced performance which utilizes the efficiency of hardware to the fullest.

Before giving us your feedback please read our whitepaper (http://excaliburos.com/whitepaper/Excalibur-OS-whitepaperv1.1.pdf?utm_source=Crowdholding&utm_medium=Task&utm_campaign=Crowdholding%20White%20Paper)and visit our webpage(https://excaliburos.com/).
We would love to hear your general opinion/thoughts about our business model.
Can you think of any possible alternative business models that could make our business more competitive?
Can you think of any possible obstacles?

We will be happy to see your answears on this platform https://www.crowdholding.com/project/311/task/724/introducing-excalibur-os-worlds-first-os-with-mining-management-system
Don't forget- your opinion is equal CRYPTO REWARD!

Many thanks

I would say the the idea at the conceptual level is great however considering there are not much details around how you are going to solve present issue, it is difficult to say if this will be a workable solution.

When you say OS, are you saying it will be a operating system that will be running on a desktop/laptop where user can use it for general browsing long with mining in the back end or you are referring a OS for a GPU Rig/ASIC miner? This may be workable for a ASIC if that if what you intend to use it for however how you are going to solve the challenge of increasing difficulty and need of additional ASIC power?

For a GPU rig as long you can take care of drives problem, this may work out. You may have to have a good list of what board, CPU, monitor and GPU etc that you have drivers for. Else everyone using random devices would become a big headache.

Another challenge is Algo. Being a Crypto miner myself for some time and using CPU, GPU as well as ASIC, I know if very well that you can not use the same hardware as well as Algo for very log. To keep your profit to an optimal level you need to be changing Algo frequently (along with hardware). Unless you have build in script for all the new Algos (that you keep adding), this may not be profitable for very long. For the bigger coins, where large mining operators run data center full of miners, there are already ASIC solutions out there and hence it may be tough to give those a competition and hence I am assuming your solution will be more focused towards small mining operators (who needs to keep en eye on their profitability closer then the whales).

Sorry, I did not want to discourage you as I think this is a good idea if you can think about all these challenges and come up with something that at least solves today's challenges.

Good luck. Feel free to IM me if you have any further specific questions about mining.
8  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: developing cold storage wallet for multiple crypto on: November 16, 2018, 05:37:13 PM
Hi,
I am going to develop an open source cold storage wallet with multiple crypto support and with the following features:

1- we do not save any private key and only ask for the private key when the user decides to send some coin
2- our app will be fully offline and it needs to get online only when the user decides to send some coin or retrieve transactions
3- open source
4- top 10 cryptos will be supported
5- very simple user interface

what do you think? is there any app like this?
I will use nodejs + angular + electron to build this app.
If you like to develop with me, mail me.
we will start our project in GitHub as soon as I get sure this app will be useful enough for cryptocurrency fans.

9  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin traffic project on: November 15, 2018, 12:55:24 AM
Thanks!

I don't really care about profitability right now, but only about the traffic that is created. Do you thing I will get any accepted shares with this Antminer T9? If not, is there any other cheap miner I could use?

Yes any SHA265 miner will work. You could use a Antminer S9, S9i or T9. You should be able to buy these on Amazon, ebay or Bitmain's site (the one that manufactures these ASIC miners).  Remember to buy a compatible PSU or you would not be able to run them.

I am however not sure if you would be able to capture any meaningful data unless you are only looking for how much data is transferred over x amount of time or how much bandwidth is being consumed.

May be if you provide details of what exact data you are trying to collect, people in this forum would be able to help.
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for Mentor/Partner/project leader !!! on: November 12, 2018, 05:19:29 AM

I hope this is not an odd post/request. I have a potential Cropto Service product idea brewing in my mind and I believe this will be a BIG project if pulled of correctly. Obviously your idea always looks great to you unless it is validated by others.

Looking for someone who has been part of mid to large project and have in depth knowledge of Crypto world. You could just be only a mentor or be an active partner in launching this project with me. If you want to take a larger role, that idea is welcome too.

Preferably someone from US however that is not a must. I am hoping this to be a mutually beneficial for both of us in long run.

PM me with your details and I will reach out to you as soon as as I can.

Apart from the idea, do you have the actual funds or the connections to bring in the funds to pull your idea off? The most important thing you must evaluate is whether you can justify your idea to a 5 year old. Particularly one who has a very short attention span. You can pretty much assume your project will succeed if a 5 year old is excited about it.

And if you want my help, my inbox's doors are always opened to new ideas.

Thank you for the comment that made me realize that I left this important detail out. Yes I do have connections and also going to invest some of my own money. Like a lot of folks, I could not capitalize on mid Jan Crypto Market boom or else I would have funded this all by myself :-).

I am not sure if my idea really can excite a 5 year old however I will PM you shortly to see what you think.....

12  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ NEED YOUR OPINION ] Guarantee Fund for investments in Initial Coin Offerings. on: November 08, 2018, 07:06:03 PM
While this is a great idea, I am not sure if this will really be practical. Let me try to put it in context by giving an example.

So you have a new team that develops a good idea into a project and does ICO. The assess the coin/token price to be 10 cents and ICO is a success. The coin/token is added to multiple exchanges and start selling in the range of 8 - 12 cents.

Right then Jan 2018 happens and entire Crypto market tanks for a long time (like now) and then the coin is now worth $0.001 cents (I am not making it up, if you look up there are at least 50+ example of this).

Now at what point one need to decide to release fund to investor. Remember the team is still committed and believes in their project. Also there is chance that what they do in their road map 2 year (or more) down the line can make this coin/token worth $1 or more.

Also when a project tanks (and dev and other team disappears) who are you going to reach out to get money back?

It does not seems that your website is working correctly. first of all it does not have a valid cert and then it displays a broken page. Please check and correct if you want attention from people.

Sorry, did not understand your thought. Please explain in more detail.

What others are pointing out here is that if you have a project in ICO stage and a good website, it does not look very professional to use a gmail ID. Also it does not help build trust where as it is easy to create a more official email ID now a days to show it is coming from a professional company.

BTW, you may also want to highlight what do you expect from this title partner as I believe everyone may have a different meaning of same.

I looked at your website and also team and project looks very promising.
