1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Candle stick graphs on: October 22, 2017, 01:56:22 PM
Hi,

I just got started with trading and am confused about why the open and close are so different from the variation in price over a given range. The open and close give the candle stick its body size based on which a lot of people call it different names. But what makes those two instants so different from the normal price variation like in a bar chart?

4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading BTC on: October 16, 2017, 03:05:07 PM
Hi,

I have a few bitcoins and am looking to trade. What are the general steps people take to get started on bitfinex once the account is funded? Do they only sell the BTC they have for USDT and then buy the BTC again? DO they exchange into another altcoin and then exchange back? How do you generally trade?

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / How do you trade bitcoins if they take such a long time to get confirmed on: October 16, 2017, 12:55:35 AM
Hi,

I am looking into trading bitcoins and have a couple of questions. How do you trade on the market if it takes such a long time for the order to be processed. Lets say I sell BTC on an exchange for USD when the price is x. Now the price is y. Do I get x or y?
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin processing fee for transaction by miners on: October 15, 2017, 06:24:17 PM
Hi,

Lets say I set a very low transaction fee for a bitcoin transaction(from one of my own wallets to another). I also have mining equipment which is mining for bitcoins. Is there anyway to get that transaction request directed towards me ? In other words can I process my own transactions by giving it priority?
If so how do I do this?
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Which exchanges have good rates which allow me to buy bitcoin on: October 15, 2017, 06:11:46 PM
Hi,

I am new to bitcoin and am looking for good websites which allow me to buy bitcoins. I am okay to provide id, however I need to get good rates depending on the market. I have tried coinbase but they have relatively high fees?

Could someone tell me how and where I can buy bitcoins without paying excessive fees?
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reduce transaction fees for bitcoin payments on: October 15, 2017, 12:43:08 AM
But what if I am sending from my exchanges wallet to mine? How do I reduce fees in that case? If the fee is very low how do i calculate the time it would take to go through(will there be a chance that it will never go through)

Could anyone confirm if it is still worth investing in WCX now? Just want to make sure since I am new here. Has anyone else invested in this? Any thoughts?
12  Economy / Exchanges / Changelly vs Coinbase on: October 14, 2017, 05:51:33 PM
Hi,

I am a little confused about how changelly gives us the ability to buy bitcoins without an ID? Does this mean they are using someone like localbitcoins?
Howcome they dont need any id to buy and sell BTC? Are their rates much higher? Why does almost everyone use bitfinex to trade bitcoins and not something like changelly? In other words what does changelly actually do?

https://changelly.com/faq - I am referring to this .
13  Other / Beginners & Help / What are the good P2P exchanges to buy bitcoins on: October 14, 2017, 05:30:32 PM
Hi,

I am new to bitcoins and am just getting started. I would like to buy some bitcoins , however I see that most exchanges I have looked at either charge very high fees , require a lot of documents or have a very high margin. What is a good way to buy some bitcoins(what are the good escrow services to use?).

Could someone please provide me a list of what are the good bitcoin exchanges which are p2p(something like localbitcoins), but dont have to meet in person and people are okay to use an escrow.

Are bitcoin exchanges the only way(other than mining) to get some bitcoins? How do I find other people who are ready to sell for a reasonable market price?

The second question I have is about how to transfer bitcoins to exchanges for trading without losing money in transaction fees? Is it better to directly give the person my bitcoin address on the exchange or is it better to use something like exodus, store my bitcoin and then send a small part of it to the exchange?

Who determines what a fair bitcoin price is? Is it the coinmarketcap website?
