I'm with you.  I've been through the paces and experiences with the hardware (GPUs, ASICMiner, BitFury, BFL, Bitmain, etc) since early 2013.  I've also had my bad experiences with Bitmain.  In my opinion, however, the T9 is still be best deal today at around $108/TH (0.126 J/GHs).  The S9 13TH is around around $122/TH (0.098 J/GHs).  The newest Avalon 741, however, is very competitive at $112/TH (0.157 J/GHs).  Not much of a difference in the short run...  However, in quantity and over the long haul the cost diff can easily add up.  Who knows,  I may also jump to Canaan.  Time will tell.

Just ordered one. Wondering what power supplies people are using in the states?

Thanks guys!

I suspect that the bitmaintech psu is just a tiny bit short to run an s-9

it does need 210 or more volts so if in USA you need correct voltage wires.

now if you are looking for an ATX 120 volt option EVGA has them  but they are costly

titanium 1600 watt cost - 386 usd

How many of the Bitmain APW3's have you tried out? Through my testing I have 1 remote connected to a APW3 and one now at my place connected to an APW3 and not having issues with them.

What way are you testing the APW3 to determine they are coming up short?  I have been testing by running the units with them so wanted to what tests you were using to get this. Just trying to compare as we seem to be getting different results.

I have personally purchased and have been using 30 of the Bitmain PSUs with no issues so far.  The rest of my miners have been on rental PSUs.  I would say that over the time of 9 months is a very good track record.

I too have had good luck with the APW3 PSUs.  I've had 20 of them over the past.  I currently have 10 of them connected to a relay/raspi setup to remotely power cycle the miners.  I'm using a combo of wiringpi and webiopi.  Working very well.

It seems to me that Bitmain has had time to get things caught up...so I am wondering when the compensation for Batch 1 will start to get taken care of? The longer they wait the higher the BTC they own us is worth.  Shocked

everything is priced in USD... if bitmain owes any moneys, it will be the USD amount..   correct me if I am wrong..

Dear loyal customers,

We're sorry to inform you that we didn't make the shipment of some orders today as promised. When we did the last spot check, we found some issues which cannot be delivered to you directly, engineers are working on it now and shipment should be arranged before end of next week.

Due to this trouble, we'd like to offer you the compensation following 97.5%*PPS payment according to the total hash rate of miners in order, starting from Oct. 11 Hong Kong Time, till the real shipping out date(which is not included), with electricity cost deducted at the price of $0.098/KWH.

The accounting unit is Bitcoin in the calculating, while USD is considered as a foreign currency. The day to day exchange rate will be get from Bitstamp daily average.

The final payment will be after we have collected your payment address, and we will inform you the way to confirm your receiving address with us.

After collect all the necessary info, we'll process the refund by batches, please wait for update patiently.

Apologize again!

NICE!   I almost wish my batch was delayed a week and get a months worth of hashing out of the deal!

Has anyone received compensation for late shipment yet?

No any news on this? Its been awhile since B1 was finished shipping.

I agree, it's about time for compensation.  It's been nearly 30 days since they shipped my batch 1 units which were shipped 5 days after the 10 extra delay days.

Only 2 out of 3 units from my B1 orders were late.  I'm only owed 8 days total.  It would be good for BTM to provide further acknowledgement on the commitment - at least an update on progress would be good.  I agree with and appreciate philipma1957's stance.  Smiley  However, it is the follow through on the statement of compensation and commitment made to the BTM supporters that is important.

Still waiting on two more batch 1 orders dated 9/04 and 9/15.

Also have a pre 8/31 unit which stopped hashing at optimum (dropped by 1/3) after 10 days online.  Hard and and soft reboots with not change.  Appreciate some assistance on warranty service, Bitmain.  Reference your support ticket #4143.
Do you know which board? Sounds like a board if it is one third. You can see a little red light on the hashboard near the connectors.
If no red light then...
You can detach hash cables one at a time to find the offending board.
Sometimes dropping the frequency will pop it up.

Have one s7, lots of time with other bitmain products.

Thnx for the reply, wolfen.  Same here.  I've been an infrequent poster but have been running equip since the GPU days.  Moved through ASICMiner block erupters, Bitfury/MBP units and a few BFL units; and now solely running Bitmain equipment.  The problem seems to be the chain 1 board.  Yes, there are red lights on all three boards.

The pic below shows the chip failures on the board.  Interesting to note... I have yet to see the chip failures displayed again on the web page.  Hard, soft reboots and freq changes - still o's.  The chips show o's every time I check the page.  Something's definitely amiss..  Thoughts?

This must be what they saw when they shut everything down.
These puppies are sick.
What psu are you using?

Nice Bitmain!  Great upgrade opportunity.

However, to be reasonably feasible, the price for the S1 upgrade kit should be more in line with a price of ~0.3495btc.  Any coupon options to previous buyers of S1s?

17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 18, 2014, 01:57:03 AM
Nice setup, Samsonn25.  Curious.  What are you using to power ur S1s?  Are they server class PSUs?  Details please.  Smiley

How about a panoramic?

Can you guess which one I had to set-up in a hurry without all the shelves I needed? If one of those S1's in the center dies, it's staying dead! lol, they're all zip tied together!

Can you tell which are the Batch 1 and which are the Batch 2+? hint: LCD Backlights

Very impressive, 52-54TH?
18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 16, 2014, 12:35:02 AM
received my batch 2 order.  cards in the units were only slight unseated.  hashing away nicely at just over 1005 GH/s avg.  I'd have to say that I'm a bitmain convert.  I have a few bitfury kits with Spotswood's open air cases.  I'm liking the builds and how easy these bitmain units are to setup and get up and running.  good stuff.

Thanks for cases, Rich!  They work perfectly and keep the cards stable.  Great work!

Spotswood - Are you still fabricating these?  Would be interested in two more of them.
