Did you folks with 3.0 Kg orders also have Power supplies? There are reports that Bitmain will ship PSU's in advance of the miner itself.

I would think 3.0 Kg as being "light" for the miner.

No PSU ordered here just a miner

I'm pretty sure UPS will send me a bill in the mail for a "brokerage" fee of maybe $35 to $40 but we may also have to make up the difference in weight.  Only time will tell.  I'm not going to worry about and just wait for the bill to come in the mail from UPS.

Really?? I have never had UPS bill me before on miners. I am having this one dropped off at my local UPS Store as not to miss the delivery. It will be interesting if they try and collect anything from me.

Really,

I had a shipment of 6 x S5's from Bitmain in which I had to pay a brokerage fee of $39.29.  I've had other shipments from Bitmain with no brokerage fee at all.  I think it's kind of a hit or miss thing.

It is very true you can read me on PSU's https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1165628.msg12697178#msg12697178 .  But if they ship for less then actual and are caught the cost goes to the one they shipped to.

So I guess it's luck.  But once they get known for doing it I predict more and more people see these bills.  And again be careful it looks like junk mail to me on it, but is a legit bill from shipper.

What do you mean exactly?
You mine $3000 per month and pay the data center $1000? Like that?

I was just curious who would have control over BTC wallet, seems you would have control over both pool and wallet.
They just want their monthly payment or they can lock me out of the data center.
It is 2 miles away from my house. So the remote hands are mine.

I have checked with 5 different data centers for 20 miners and the cheapest quote was $5k.  I do not see how that is profitable.

Are you talking about electricity? Seems kinda high if so.  Your talking around 23.2 K watts  At 10 cents like 1.6k USD or so depending.

Are you talking about older bitmain miners and actually getting a miner for that 5k?

I am talking 20 S7 Antminers @ 24KWatts.  Yeah gross would be around $6k per month which would leave a net of $1k per month after paying the $5k to the data center.  My ROI would be 3 years.  That is not a good!

Still waiting on two more batch 1 orders dated 9/04 and 9/15.

Also have a pre 8/31 unit which stopped hashing at optimum (dropped by 1/3) after 10 days online.  Hard and and soft reboots with not change.  Appreciate some assistance on warranty service, Bitmain.  Reference your support ticket #4143.
Do you know which board? Sounds like a board if it is one third. You can see a little red light on the hashboard near the connectors.
If no red light then...
You can detach hash cables one at a time to find the offending board.
Sometimes dropping the frequency will pop it up.

Have one s7, lots of time with other bitmain products.

Thnx for the reply, wolfen.  Same here.  I've been an infrequent poster but have been running equip since the GPU days.  Moved through ASICMiner block erupters, Bitfury/MBP units and a few BFL units; and now solely running Bitmain equipment.  The problem seems to be the chain 1 board.  Yes, there are red lights on all three boards.

The pic below shows the chip failures on the board.  Interesting to note... I have yet to see the chip failures displayed again on the web page.  Hard, soft reboots and freq changes - still o's.  The chips show o's every time I check the page.  Something's definitely amiss..  Thoughts?

There must be some error in the quote. Nobody charges that much. For example, it would cost about 1300 USD to host at my datacenters at 57 USD / kW. Other datacenters from Canada charge about this rate too.

Thanks for the reply on that. Its not something else I want to look forward to. I have a hard time understanding how it would be our fault if UPS didn't collect enough from the shipper?

Because brokerage fee or customs is not usually paid by the seller. It cannot be known (May be estimated though) until it goes to the customs of the country.

I just went back to the quote:

16 kW at $340/kW for a monthly fee of $5,440 with a one time setup fee of $1,500.......The grand total monthly was $$5,790 with a One Time Install Fee List Price of $2,500........ This is crazy!!!!!

$340/kW?  That is absurdly high.  You should be looking for a host in the $60-$75/kW range.

I did math earlier and I don't believe anyone would charge this much if based on asic hosting.  If he went to a regular server farm.... possibly if very top tier.

But they would not be geared for asics.  Look into asic hosting it is much cheaper and has more cooling then normal hosting.

It's almost like spamming.   He offered to help bitmain as well, clearly a customer cannot help bitmain.

Also almost trolling when he said how hard it is for bitmain:
Rough for any company when they get crushed with more orders than they can handle.

Wolfen if you keep doing one liners there is a good chance of temp ban.  One liners and almost trolling is not going to work good here.  I suggest taking a day or two from thread.
