1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.9.3 - native algo switching on: August 03, 2019, 03:40:11 PM
Has to be the worst miner I have ever used. I get so many rejected shares. My has rate even though over 2K is meaning less at the pool. My hash rate is the same as when I used CASTXMR, but I made more money with CAST because I didn't have as many rejected and stale shares as SRB. Restart restart restart.. that is the answer??

What a joke.

Hello, u will support uplexa new algo:UPXTWO ?

Quote  Wink

Sure i will, im waiting on the dev/devs

"+ --preparedata can now give a small boost with turtle, mox, heavy and gpu algo on Vega56. Did not test on other cards."
It is like going worse on vega64 - from 49700 to 48400 /12 vegas
Maybe I am doing something wrong?:
SRBMiner-CN.exe --config Config\config-mox.txt --pools poolsmox.txt --preparedata --resetvega --gpureorder --disablegpuwatchdog --logfile %LOGTIME%
or
SRBMiner-CN.exe --config Config\config-mox.txt --pools poolsmox.txt --resetvega --preparedata  --gpureorder --disablegpuwatchdog --logfile %LOGTIME%\
Same results
19.1.1

You are not doing anything wrong, looks like vega64 does not like it. I tested only on Vega56 with Hynix mem, cause thats what i got.

I really miss the stability that CASTXMR provided. Month after month and I never looked at the miner 100% uptime. Maybe you can reach out to him (CASTXMR DUDE) for some assistance? This miner crashes every week for me.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: October 08, 2018, 12:35:22 AM
Had computation error, i lowered Ram clockspeeds by 50 mhz , not related to core clocks.

worked.

So just a question, before i usually used HBCC and blockchain drivers on windows 10 (1600 or 1700 build win10 build)  and i got around 1440 h/s in cryptonight heavy for RX Vega 56

But today, everytime i try blockchain driver i get around 1150 h/s  and the adrenalin ones gives around 1290 but i found one that does 1320 and it worked across several windows builds.

My problem is that, is 1450 only for V56 flashed to V64?  because im not flashed, i did test it a year ago but oh well it had a power issue where it kept increasing power whenever under load until it throttled during release month.

Which drivers are people using with RX Vega now and are you using HBCC ? Have you flashed V56? for Cryptonight heavy

Freakin noob. HBCC has never done anything and never will. What are you even talking about?

Im on W10, Z370 (coffe lake), 2x Vega RX 64 and latest drivers. I get constant error "OpenCL Platform Not Found" and then closes. I did reinstall win, twice. Huh I did rewrite new opencl.dll with older one. I have tried many things nothing work.

You should not be mining.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: September 03, 2018, 03:59:35 PM
How are you larger miners monitoring Cast remotely?  How do you get alerts for drops in hash rate?

But seriously.. why would it drop in hash rate? I have never understood people who say this. I have never seen a drop in hash rate except for in the following instances

  • Temp went over 75C
  • Monitor plug issue
  • Not doing the device manager reset

All of these issues are easily preventable.

My average on cryponightv7 is 12100 and its just a tinge lower on the the pool. I run 24/7 and run nonstop. I don't even check the miner most days.

 Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: July 05, 2018, 10:42:35 PM
Hi everybody,

I just want to give a small headsup to everyone using this miner (on Vega rigs, but probably the issue is more wide-spread)

Pay good attention to miner reported hashrate and actual hashes counted by the pool. I have encountered issue with SRBminer and CAST XMR where a miner reports 2KH/s per vega, or 12KH/s for 6x vega rig, but pool effective hashrate can be up to 20% lower. This issue is not existing on STAK miner, where the hashes (averaged over several days, not talking about instant hashrate!) are counted correct, so STAK even with crappy hashrate is having better performance than CAST or SRB. After several days, 2 identical miners can have big difference in total hashes, which went to almost 20% on my best and worst miner.

Right now I am testing another closed-source miner and it seems to count the hashes correctly.

Please don't start to explain to me about hashrate fluctuations and similar crap, I am not using this miner for different reasons so for this one I don't have screenshots and proofs - consider this just a heads up, ,  not to get blinded by miner hashrate, but pay attention what to pool reports, as it is not miner that pays you.

Wow thanks for making your 31st post on this forum, about this particular topic. You are so wise, and I have to ask myself, how after all this time you might be the first person to ever think about this. You are so smart please continue to share your huge and super deep ideas about mining here, so helpful really.

Thanks for exposing this, as what would we do without totally freaking noobs like you??!?!?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: July 03, 2018, 12:45:15 AM
I get 3000 not 2000.

Enable hbcc

I get 6000 with two vega...

It is a hbcc trick .

Now I insert a new vega and not working anymore I remove and now I have only two but I reach only 1800.

I need to delete any registry? Or I need to reinstall windows?

Provide screen shots please. Else... you lie.

Been using 1.1.5 for few hours without any problems.
May have got a speed increment from 1.0.0
All reverence Vegas:
Vegas 64    on V7 2050Hs on Heavy 1560Hs
Vegas 54    on V7 1980Hs on Heavy 1420Hs

RX 580 with Hynix memory  920/30Hs on Heavy and 890Hs on V7.
I know some people claim of getting above 1k Hs with the RX580, but those have samsung memory.

Why would you care about Heavy?

Just because something isn’t listed on whattomine doesn’t mean it’s not profitable!   Grin

uh ok.

darn, making almost 11€ a day with 4 Vega 64 and 16€+ a day with 6 Vega 56 (unmodded) using Awesome Miner to mine on Nicehash pool and CryptonightV7.  Shocked Shocked Vega are ruling again like in the old times!
in the old times 4 vegas were making more than 25 euros per day.  Grin
So we are not back there yet.

Anyway if you mine Haven instead of nicehass you can get as today about 18/20 euros per day.
few days ago it was up to 35 euros or there about.

I am mining haven, Cryptonight heavy, on haven.miner.rocks pool (very reliable and fair HS rates) 0.9% fees
mining directly to integrate address on TradeOgre, exchange the Haven for BTC/LTC for pennies and then sending them to Kraken to get the Euros.
Cost of the whole transaction about 1 euro.
Definitively few euros less than dealing with Nicehash 4% fee and then Coinbase 2.99 fixed rate for euros/dollars transactions.

miners.rocks pools do most of the new cryptonight coins that are more profitable than Monero or Nicehash.
even the TradeOgre exchange that is new, is working fine and no major issues, sometimes just some delays on transfers, but rarely happens.

Working fine for now.

Cheers.

What about your hashrate per Vega card? I can achieve 1380-1400 H/s each but I don't know if I can improve it more
Mine are around 1430/1490hs Vega 56/64

I am tryin to understand why you need awesome miner and cast xmr to mine on nicehash. I use CAST XMR pointed to nicehash. and I get 2056 H/s per card.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: April 26, 2018, 06:26:18 PM
As of the 21st CastXMR seems to be having issues with Nicehash. 20% rejected by pool. No memory errors in HWinfo and 0% Invalid Computation result. Two other miners I know confirmed this as well and they have completely different rigs and setups. I am running three six card gpu rigs two running on nicehash and the 3rd on NanoPool. All the rigs have the same setup and tune. The NanoPool rig does not experiences issues and does not report the 20% rejected by pool. The hashrate reported by the pool is accurate as well. The two rigs running on nicehash both experience a 18 to 20% rejected by pool error. This is reported on nicehash as well "Rejected(target)" nicehash also reports a lower then expected accepted average hash rate over 72 hours.

Has anyone else seen this or run into this issue with nicehash since 04/21/2019

If using Nicehash you have to specify "--Algo" now on the V7 server.

You got that right. Mining with 5 x Vega 64 + 2 x Vega 56 on one rig and 4 x Vega FE on the other and making good money right now - right around $70/day total.

What a freaking lie.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: March 14, 2018, 08:14:38 PM
On latest version, 0.9.0 I noticed an increase of the heat generated by the cards.

My fans were around 3400-3700rpm, while now they're more like 3700-4100rpm  on the same rig and same weather conditions.

Anyone noticed the same ?

The kernel for 'classic CryptoNight' did not change and is technical the same as in version 0.8.5  so a change in power consumption would be strange.

The CryptoNightV7 kernel is a little more complex but the additional instructions are still masked by the memory accesses and do have no real performance influence.

So if still running with classic CryptoNight the power consumption an therefore fan speed should be the same. For CryptoNight V7 a tiny increase would be explainable.

glph3k

Any thoughts on NeoScrypt version for CAST? CAST NEOSCRYPT??

Still have one of my Vegas mining at a good 100h/s slower than the other 5... and no idea why. They are all 56's flashed to 64's, running at 1950h/s except that odd one doing 1850. Same temperature, same clocks, same everything. Is there a logical explanation? Any suggestions?

maybe other memory type on that gpu
Fair observation... They're all the same on the outside (standard AMD RX Vega 56's), flashed with the same bios... so I would assume they all use the same memory... Will still check tonight, however.

Are you running video off that card? or onboard graphics?
Assume your temperatures are fine?

Could always be silicon lottery.
Nope, no video... and temps are pretty much the same across all cards... But the silicon lottery explanation feels kinda meh as the other 5 cards are literally within a few h/s... but that one is a hundred off. F@ck knows...

You're not alone, I have one like that to but I just cranked up the mem speed to equalize it.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: February 16, 2018, 09:26:00 PM
Does anyone know if cast will work when the planned fork is done in March and what will need to be done to keep mining? I have seen the monero thread but they mention all the other mining software apart from cast

Why would it not work? Cryptonight Algo. CAST XMR Cryptonight miner.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: February 12, 2018, 01:51:43 AM
tried it ,still same error

You missed a step.

Can you tell me the mem speeds? Softpowerplay reg mod applied? What kind of Vega is it? Is it your primary video card? Why am I asking more questions that you are providing details?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: February 09, 2018, 06:44:50 AM
Sorry, I can also only speculate as programming with OpenCL and CGN assembler only allows to optimize what a kernel does and to some degree how the kernels are organized and scheduled.

On driver level the scheduling of kernels is implemented also on driver level probably the bandwidth of memory can be influenced as not only the CGNs need access to memory but also the other parts of the GPU that do the actual graphics rendering. Random access memory bandwidth (not compute) is for CryptoNight the limiting factor, as the algo is mainly reading and writing to random parts of memory.

So if I would make a driver for compute only stuff I would give the CGN kernels higher priority and max memory bandwidth and thereby slow the graphics rendering. Which can be experienced with the blockchain driver.

Can only guess if the AMD engineers manage or are willing to combine both use cases in on driver. As they managed for the RX 570/580 with the 'compute mode'.

Do the blockchain driver not work with non reference cards? As the OEMs are just building different cooling designs on the cards?

Serious question for glph3K:

Why does the Blockchain driver provide increased performance over the Adrenaline drivers with the compute option toggled?
https://community.amd.com/thread/221930

It is concerning that there has been no improvement for cryptonight based mining on the Vega with the latest drivers, and AMD coming out and saying that the Adrenaline drivers are "already optimized for the Vega" is hugely disappointing. In short, without the August blockchain drivers we would never have this performance for cryptonight, which I know I am not the first person to ponder this issue.

Do you have any insights on this issue? Have you had any contact with AMD driver developers?

I am not a conspiracy type person but I find this completely crazy, odd and so on...

This also does not bode well for NAVI cards using GDDR6 as AMD may never allow true mining performance to be recognized via the driver. Right now the Blockchain compute drivers look like either a fluke, mistake or some devious ploy to deny. If you have a reference AMD vega 64 you should consider yourself very lucky.

Any thoughts??

The blockchain driver does work with the newer OEM Vega cards but apparently those cards are using memory (hynix) that may have lower tolerances and cannot be overclocked easily. The reference cards use the samsung memory that seems to tolerate higher or more aggressive memory overclocks. Performance is better on the reference cards.

So all things considered it is likely that there will not be a driver that prioritizes random memory access read/writes for newer AMD cards (Navi) since it seems that they are not willing to make that change for Vega now in the mainline driver. Which is sad because the performance of the new GDDR6 memory would certainly be helpful for cryptonight.

Its also funny to think that we are only using these cards for their memory performance only so its a pretty expensive memory stick.

Thanks for the feedback!

So I have a 10 vega 56 gpu rig. If I mineajyhong with clock chain drivers it freezes up thread stuck in device withon seconds of mining. Sometimes it might minefir a minute. I’ve tried xmr stak nicehash legacy and a few others it’s all the same.
I have fresh installed windows multiple times ddu drivers in safe mode and install block chain . It hashes well almost 2000hs a second per card at stock settings but then one random card drops and restarts the computer.

If I disable the other cards I can run one card no problem and it hashes away.
I have disabled crossfire.

My specs are
Windows 10 fall update
ASUS B250 Mining Expert
16gb ram
1tb hard drive for all the virtual memory I will need for hbm page file
And 9 vega 56 stock bios and 1 vega 64 stock bios  stock clocks everything

What am I doing wrong my nvidia rigs never miss a beat.... I’m so frustrated I have 10,000 $ of equipment not making a dime

Wow stock clocks and getting almost 2K hash rate, even on the 56's?  AMAZING!

I would think that your problem is based solely on power and how you have decided to power your single rig. Bit more expensive but safer option would have been to power no more than 5 cards per rig, run with 1 PSU with the soft powerplay mod applied.

I don't think I have seen anyone try to do 10 vega cards in a single rig before, I have seen 8 done perfectly well.

Well done to you on the research before getting into Vega mining. Roll Eyes

BTW your title makes it sound like you want BSOD. So I guess its working as expected?

Cast XMR Version 0.8.5 (2018/02/07)

  - 1% performance gain for Vega Frontier Edition with Blockchain driver (fastest GPU around)
  - 1% performance improvement with current stock driver (18.1.1) for RX Vega 56/64 (40% to go to reach Blockchain driver performance)
  - fix for random blocking console output
  - GPU now always logs with its device id not the order they are listed in the -G argument
  - --log option to log console output to a file
  - remote access includes CORS support in HTTP header

0.8.5 Still hanging once every few days for me. Not sure if it's a problem with the miner or maybe one of my cards?

Me too, freezing. Back to 0.8.1 and works fine
I had installed the new 8.05 but did not reboot and I had 1 freeze after few hours, which may have been caused by my wifi disconnecting.

After reboot it has been working for more than 48 hours without interruptions.
I think it will be ok.

I downloaded 0.8.5
I extracted the miner
I copied my current batch scripts over to the new directory for the 0.8.5 miner
I created new shortcuts to the desktop
I hit q on the current miner and let the current miner shutdown
I doubleclicked the new shortcut
I saw the miner working
I turned off the monitor and went to work
I checked the mining site and I am still making money a little bit more than yesterday (averaging just around 12K h/s)
