IS anyone getting the issue where the miner just stops hashing? It just hangs but not frozen
Did you try the latest? It happened to me with 0.8.1, I'm trying now 0.8.5 and it hasn't happened yet but who knows, I'll have to wait a few more days. When it happens if I press 'q' to exit it tries to shutdown but it hangs there and I have to kill it.

where you find this version?? i only find the oficial 0.8.0     Cool

there is 0.8.5 out, google is your friend.

I checked now,

But this is the official topic, should be updated to...

Hi All,

I've been working on a simple GUI wrapper around the miner to monitor it in a more user-friendly way and to restart the miner automatically if the hashrate drops below a specified amount.  I'm sure there's lots of bugs (very little validation in the GUI), but it might be useful for some of you.

Looks good!  Cool

Hi do you have the executable?

Today i got unauthenticated by the pool, and  xmr send a lot of rejected shares Sad
Could GUI this avoid that?

Any parameter that can i put in the native cast_xmr_vega too avoid this too?

Regards

Hi all!

I am getting a weird error on one of my rigs. OBJECT_ALLOCATION_FAILURE

The rest of my rigs with similar setups work OK, but this one is a Panda Miner

Any advice?

You can't change mV values in Wattman or anything else. You have to do that in the registry. You can change the mem clock by starting at 850 for Vega 56 and 1100 for Vega 64 and increment from there. See what happens.

Where did this come from? It's not mentioned on the front page of this thread or on the G3K website.

Edit: Okay, I see he edited one post of his website, but not the most recent one. Very confusing.
Also confirmed via Twitter.

Great, thank you for you work!

I get slightly higher h/s with this miner than xmr stak for my vegas Cheesy

I wonder if we ever will get updated blockchain drivers from AMD...prolly not.

Does anyone know if theres a hashratescript for this miner too like the jj script for xmr stak?

Cheers,
/J

0.8.5 Still hanging once every few days for me. Not sure if it's a problem with the miner or maybe one of my cards?

Me too, freezing. Back to 0.8.1 and works fine
I had the same issue with all versions so far.

Does it freeze with other miners? What are your card settings for power and mem speed?

Went from 0.8.1 to 0.8.5.  I notice a very slight bump in hash rate around +50mh/s, and also a increase in temperature from of about +2°C.

I'm running these cards in low power, aiming for a hash around 1850mh/s, so I don't see any stability changes.

I had installed the new 8.05 but did not reboot and I had 1 freeze after few hours, which may have been caused by my wifi disconnecting.

After reboot it has been working for more than 48 hours without interruptions.
I think it will be ok.

I downloaded 0.8.5
I extracted the miner
I copied my current batch scripts over to the new directory for the 0.8.5 miner
I created new shortcuts to the desktop
I hit q on the current miner and let the current miner shutdown
I doubleclicked the new shortcut
I saw the miner working
I turned off the monitor and went to work
I checked the mining site and I am still making money a little bit more than yesterday (averaging just around 12K h/s)

Hey guys, could you please tell me why the miner is recognizing only 1 GPU? I have 5 GPUs and only this cryptonight miner does not recognize them all :X I am running 5x580 saph nitros+. I looked into the conf file, but everything seems to be A-OK with it...

Yes, there is.  Go back earlier in this thread and look for StellarX88's postings. He modified the Jericho Jones script so that it works just fine with Cast.   He posted the download links to his files.

Serious question for glph3K:

Why does the Blockchain driver provide increased performance over the Adrenaline drivers with the compute option toggled?
https://community.amd.com/thread/221930

It is concerning that there has been no improvement for cryptonight based mining on the Vega with the latest drivers, and AMD coming out and saying that the Adrenaline drivers are "already optimized for the Vega" is hugely disappointing. In short, without the August blockchain drivers we would never have this performance for cryptonight, which I know I am not the first person to ponder this issue.

Do you have any insights on this issue? Have you had any contact with AMD driver developers?

I am not a conspiracy type person but I find this completely crazy, odd and so on...

This also does not bode well for NAVI cards using GDDR6 as AMD may never allow true mining performance to be recognized via the driver. Right now the Blockchain compute drivers look like either a fluke, mistake or some devious ploy to deny. If you have a reference AMD vega 64 you should consider yourself very lucky.

Any thoughts??
