D3 is now back in stock on Bitmain's website for $550 for March 21-31 batch.
I just noticed that on their site, like do they actually believe they can scam more people into buying these? Especially after the Blissz BIOS mod has been discontinued due to threats by trolls lol.

Hi All, I wasn't aware of the GPL license, so I did some investigation last days. After reading the GPL licenses I can conclude that stangerm2 is right. So that means I do have to provide the modified sources as most of the current modifications are now build on top of a linked module in cgminer. There are some consequences in releasing the source though: - As far as I know, Bitmain is free to use these improvements in their current and their new products they will sell. I do hope they compensate these free goodies with a multi algorithm D3 firmware one day ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) - There will probably appear modified firmware binaries which can cause damaging your miners if the maker doesn't know what he's doing... - I had plans to buy a S9 as there are a lot of requests and make a modified S9 version, but I might consider not to jump on that boat for now. (let's first see what will happen with the D3) Legit alternatives instead of releasing the sourcecode- I stop this project and take the binaries offline. I don't like this option, as the whole idea is to help improve the situations for the D3 owners. - Temporary I take the binaries offline and I will write something from scratch / not linked to the sources of cgminer. This will take away the consequences, but a lot of time and effort (at least a month or two) will be put into something that will probably not lead to any improvements for you guys. My proposal- Although these consequences I will release source of a stable version (non BETA) that allow others to investigate the voltage / fan mods / fault check improvements I did. (devfee related code will be removed from the source). This allow others to look into the changes I did to make a binary for themselves without devfee. BETA functionality will be left out of the source right now since it's not yet stable and will create dangerous situations when used in a wrong way. I might have to restrict the use of a BETA versions to a closed group instead of providing a public link to the BETA versions. Happy mining ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Ciao Blissz *Ahem* There is also option Z, where you just carry on regardless and nobody without their head up their arse really minds as you're doing the community a service. I mean it's not like you're actually doing anything illegal by violating the GPL (it's a civil matter not criminal). I'd be up for continuing to trial any new unpublished BETAs though.

Before Christmas you announced, that you where working on a v2.0 BETA. When will it come for us to try?
Best regards.
It was made available before Christmas: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2346161.msg26838404#msg26838404Obagam these spikes are because each 2 hours we have dev fee switching. I proposed solution. Option checkbox to mine the whole devfee at the start for 24 hours.
It was originally done at the start, it was changed because everyone hated it and wanted the 2hr thing instead.

Thought my D3 was running even cooler than normal with the super firmware, turns out that's cos it's doing nothing (but the dev pool I guess) as there's a Nicehash outage going on, was going to switch to Zpool but it looks more complex. Bitmain D3 Settings: URL: x11.mine.zpool.ca:3533#xnsub Worker: <WALLET_ADDRESS> Password: c=<SYMBOL>,d=92 Is the <symbol> just supposed to be BTC if I want paying in BTC?

Thanks, at lowest value of 400 what is the hash rate and the power consumption for 19.3 (Nov.batch) model?
Thanks W_M
If you're running Blissz firmware at 400 and lowest voltage setting then ~700w (at least that's what I'm getting) will only be 15GH/s though.

You da man Blissz, keep up the good work!

The Noctua NF-F12 3000PWM fans was replaced with stock fans. The needed power of Noctua fans are not reached. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) I'm running EK Furious Vardar 3000s on mine without issue, at 100% they are about as noisey as stock fans at 40%, they do a great job on auto fan.

Just installed the 28/11 update, hashrate seems down slightly compared to 26/11 but it's within margins of error. However I am no longer seeing the dev pools in the miner status, are they hidden now or did you forget to include them? ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

hi all
does anyone know why people seem to be selling their d3's cheaper than you can buy them from bitmain on ebay?
The difficulty has soared since they were launched, so much so that the latest batch will probably never make a profit (even with the modded firmware you're still only looking at $4-5 a day after power and that will only get worse with time) and so people are selling them when they arrive to try and cut their losses. That and the fact you can sell it on eBay when it arrives and use the money to do stuff like buy x3 Vega 56 cards which combined will make double the BTC/USD per day of a D3.

But they're ribbed, I was always told that increased noise. heh heh heh.

Just installed the latest version of the firmware, mine was a couple of days old I think, selected manual mode for the fans from the drop down box (didn't have that before) and applied, when it came back up the fans were running at 100% even though the speed was previously set at 35%, managed to fix it by deleting the 35 then retyping it and applying. All seems to be good now.

Hoping the firmware hacks are the solution, rather than the more involved hardware hacks to fake the fans.
Why don't you just plug the fans in via extension cables (so they're not in the liquid) that way you can lower the fan speed so far they become inaudible. Not a perfect solution I know but it is one that would work right this second.

Hi guys, I have a law firm and I have already threatened BM, if we get together we can do a class action, if we decide all together my studio is available.
I think a lot of us are willing to do it. Class action seems like a very good idea. Hate to break this to you but Bitmain is a Chinese company, China is know for many things one of them is being "not in the USA", you can't have a class action suit against a foreign company with no US base/presence because US courts have no jurisdiction in China, hell even if you fly over to China and start a regular suit the Chinese courts always side with Chinese companies when the plaintiffs are foreign (hence all the copyright/patent infringing knock offs there).

let me know if you have new features I should add (beside new algo's, this is still in continuous research)
I would really like the ability to set a timed schedule to switch between two hash/power/fan configs. That way I can have it tuned for silence when I'm home and when I'm at work it can be set it to switch to the best hash/watt setting. Not sure if anyone else would be interested in this though.

Hi guys, trying to use this miner with my two RX480 cards and getting an issue. Each card by itself does 800+ H/S stock, but when I try and run them both at once using "-G 0,1" the thye get dropouts, like GPU0 will do 800+ H/s and GPU1 will do 0 H/s, then GPU0 will do 0 H/s and GPU1 will do 800+ H/s, and so on and so on bouncing the issue between them. Any ideas? Thank you ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Made the mistake of transferring BTC very late and tired and didn't see the screen properly, always a recipe for disaster. Anyway I ended up transferring some BTC with a 1 satoshi per KB fee lol. Is this likely to ever confirm or should I resend it? I don't mind waiting a week or two, just not forever lol.

For all those overclocking their D3s: The increase in profits with overclocking vs electricity usage is generally mutually exclusive!
There is an important caveat with this that should be mentioned: Do you believe in crypto? What I mean is, a few years ago a friend of mine was obsessed with tuning his GPU rigs for energy efficiency over performance, his mantra was that if it makes $5 less a day but costs $9 less then that's like a bonus $4, I didn't bother with that as I believed in the coins I was mining/hoarding. I won in the end because his $9 a day saved is still $9 a day saved, but his $5 a day lost is now $200 a day lost because that lost crypto has risen in value.

IF he is only supposed to take 1.5% then why is he getting way way more. There is a problem with how he is taking the 1.5% then.
Working fine for me: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fs33.postimg.org%2Fq4qivx0cf%2Fblissz.png&t=663&c=bGPU81jyFtJl-A) 1.5% of 3204 = 48 Your problem is that the order for the pools seems to be messed up, try reflashing Blissz firmware from the first page to see if it fixes it, make sure it's the latest version.
