1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digipulse worth buying? Under Valued? on: April 04, 2018, 07:26:11 AM
well, volume is picking up lately, they are solving a problem that actually exists, they have a working beta-version, the team is not a bunch of anonymous scammers and the market cap is still super low.

what's not to like?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: March 26, 2018, 10:30:44 PM
SpectreCoin will be going through changes as a result of the earlier announcement by Project Manager Mandica
This statement was released today .

IMPORTANT UPDATE

That means that if you do not update to the new version of XSPEC you will NOT be able to
deposit or withdraw XSPEC from the exchanges after the changes have been implemented.

@jbg will continue to develop under the ticker WISP and as the network splits everyone will get an
equal share of XSPEC and the new WISP. So, if you hold 1 XSPEC before the network split youwill have 1 WISP as well after. So, if you own XSPEC you will also own WISP.

I have a question about the HardFork as the network splits and  everyone will get an
equal share of XSPEC and the new WISP
Question: If I hold XSPEC coins on an exchange- will the WISP be created/ credited to my account on the exchange?

that is being discussed with cryptopia atm, but you will be safe, if you store them in your walltet.

but you needn't be worried, as there will be announcements on discord (probably also on reddit, twitter and, of course, here) in time.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XSPEC x200 this year on: March 26, 2018, 03:04:22 PM
i do think this hard fork is a wise decision.

the team that is continuing xspec has stated repeatedly, that they are after more accountability and a more professional approach towards developing in general (more developers, uploading all changes to github, organized marketing that does not rely on shilling).

and anyone who is dissatisfied with this slightly more centralized and streamlined vision can still follow jbg and wisp and watch them deliver (or not, for that matter).

so the recent criticism might have actually lead to a change for the better.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hidden Gems on: February 18, 2018, 12:07:50 AM
i'd second xspec, but also dgpt.

their idea is great, the team seems to be efficient knowledgeable, they have a low marketcap and small circulating supply.
also, there should be 2 upcoming exhange-listing in april.

so what's not to like?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spectrecoin (XSPEC) private coin with exclusive technology on: January 18, 2018, 04:41:37 PM
It is not working yet? Sure? Only stealth staking dont work and default stealth adresses. Look road map prior talk shit.

look for yourself

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xspec/#!rich

this has been discussed numerous times already, i'm quoting their faq here:

"With the use of a block explorer it is possible to view the transactions that have occurred on the public blockchain; this data can be used to compile a rich list. However, any such list is inaccurate, as Spectrecoin has both public and stealth addresses, and the stealth addresses are not visible on the public blockchain.

Once stealth addresses and transactions become default with the planned 2.0 update, the already inaccurate rich list information will become obsolete."

besides that, i actually agree with generalizethis, just stating x is better than y does not benefit any discussion.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is spectrecoin a scam? on: January 16, 2018, 06:22:21 PM
At first glance it looks like generalizethis is trolling, but if you look at the bigger picture, it appears generalizethis is actually participating in the shills as there is now a poll concluding that spectre is not a scam and another highly visible spectre thread.

Or perhaps I'm just pointing out that the devs have yet to prove how they are going to build anonymous staking. I've pointed out dubious claims before and have had to deal with armies of noobs (sock puppets), so nothing new in that regard.

By your logic, Every car manufacturer that has claimed that they will set the bar higher than other manufacturers, Needs to release the complete technical white paper on said vehicle, Down to the drag coefficients, Type of bearings used, effective suspension geometry, Drive train specs... etc.

Did you call tesla a scam when they said they were going to release a car that didnt use petrol as the energy source? Would it have been in tesla's best interest to release every specification on their ground breaking platform before they released it? No, Because the competitors that are MUCH more well funded could have used that template and implemented it prior to tesla ever having a working product.

Simply just trying to use an analogous situation so that you can wrap your head around what is going on here. Doesnt seem like its that complicated, But it may just be a simple case of inflated ego/ignorance going on here.

Regardless, Dont spread misinformation unless you have tangible proof that said coin is in fact a scam.

If a car manufacturer promises a moonmobile that is powered by unicorn farts, yes, I would expect some explanation and I would call scam if they have no basis for making such a claim.

Want to shut me up, post how anonymous staking works, you don't even have to explain it in detail, just a rough sketch. Right now it's a claim and nada--not even a dev identification to base an opinion on prior work.

good god, even the lead developer tried to reason with you and went into detail why they aren't releasing this information at this time.

let it go.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spectrecoin predictions on: January 14, 2018, 04:31:34 PM
Go to slack spectrecoin.io and read devs. They are very active. New wallet release soon and the price this year will be go to the moon!

When is soon? Can we decide on a date? Do you see the amount of shit that XVG got for not following dates. XSPEC is in the same category if they cannot get it out by the date they promised. At the very least they should inform investors that they are running late. We are talking about 100 million dollars that ppl have put in this so called project. So there is a lot of money at stake here.

XSPEC fanboys who shill for this coin - Give us an update!!

quoting the main developer jbg here:

**v1.3.5 - code name "unxspected"**

As you are probably all aware, testing discovered some issues with the v1.3.4 binaries just before they were due for release. Specifically, we seem to be triggering a bug in Qt4 on the Windows 64-bit platform. We can't release the binaries with this problem, and Qt4 is no longer maintained (v1.4 was to be our migration to Qt5). Bryce and I have got together at his place in the Arctic north to come up with a solution. Yesterday we backported part of the Qt5 migration from v1.4, and we've verified that this solves the problem. We now need to backport a couple of other small changes that this migration requires, and do some testing. This release will get a new version number (v1.3.5) due to the significant additional changes compared to v1.3.4. And you all get Qt5 much earlier than expected!

We expect to make the release in the coming days and will give regular updates about progress.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: buy xspec near 4$? on: January 11, 2018, 12:28:11 PM
any exchange where i can use eth or ltc? not a fan of btc time + fees

can use ltc at cryptopia

You have to check, yesterday LTC trading was blocked on Cryptopia

ah true. both doge and ltc markets closed on cryptopia with no eta for reopening...

i transfered ltc to cryptopia, sold for btc and bought xspec, so that should still work.

btc transaction fees and times really are cumbersome.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Am I the only one annoyed with XSPEC adepts spamming bout it? on: January 11, 2018, 12:22:07 PM
I am an investor in XSPEC, and if you check my post history, you'll see that some of my comments are about XSPEC. In fact, I hold about 8 different coins, but I post about XSPEC more than I do others, such as Genesis Vision or Genaro Network, even though they are also lesser known projects.

But you would be jumping to conclusions to assume that my posts or paid, and the same goes for anybody else in the XSPEC community.

The reason you see so many posts about XSPEC is because, unlike other projects, this is all the marketing we have. There is no paid marketing by XSPEC whatsoever. The marketing solely depends on word-of-mouth.

This is firstly because XSPEC underperformed in their ICO, raising only $16,000 or so iirc. Resultantly, there just aren't the funds to spend lavishly on marketing. But you want to know the wonderful thing? The XSPEC project continues regardless because of the incredible community we have. The development is largely funded by community donations, we all pull together to move XSPEC in the right direction because we all see the potential of the project.

Nowhere else on BitcoinTalk will you see so many posts 'shilling' a coin unpaid. That's not a problem with XSPEC, it's quite the opposite. It demonstrates just how much confidence there is in the project.

Come join our Telegram to chat further, and to see that our marketing efforts are entirely voluntary and unpaid.

pretty much +1

xspec ist the only coin i‘m invested in atm, that has not yet enough funding to do proper marketing.

i do agree though, that hijacking threads about other coins isn‘t the right approach.

our marketing efforts are all public, so do feel free to join discord/slack/telegram to see no one gets paid for promoting this coin Smiley
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] SPECTRECOIN new website release 8th january on: January 10, 2018, 07:15:41 PM
I think a lot of bitcointalk members shill for XSPEC which is fine btw. But what investors want to know is if they have released the new waller 1.3.4? Please update us !

the developer found and corrected the bug i was speaking of before. he‘s redoing the builds now and the wallet should be up soon!

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] SPECTRECOIN new website release 8th january on: January 09, 2018, 11:50:13 PM
I thought that this news would positively affect the value of the coin, but nothing happened. Too bad, I was hoping for a price increase.

What news? The wallet has not released yet.

XSPEC fanboys, Do you guys have an update?

it should be out later today. some testers had to redownload the blockchain after the update, so this is getting looked into right now.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] SPECTRECOIN new website release 8th january on: January 07, 2018, 10:29:53 PM
i find it odd this coin didn't moon yet, even though it beats all the competition. It's only a matter of time.

That's what I really don't understand. Everyone talks about its great features, and it really is one of the best projects I've found, but the market cap and value hasn't moved. The only reason I can come up with is marketing and poor website, which is what it's supposed to change tomorrow. Therefore my question, do you think that the new website and wallet is the trigger for XSPEC to rise to the place it deserves? If so, the time to buy is now.

i think the new website and wallet improvements will at least secure further, steady growth.

being added to more exchanges on the other hand will most probably have an even bigger impact.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Private Coin? on: January 04, 2018, 04:42:09 PM
@generalizethis

while i do think it's a smart approach to not blindly believe in every coin a bct-member is trying to shill because they're heavily invested in it themselves, i don't understand your overly negative attitude towards spectrecoin.

i've been following this project for a couple of months now, and so far, the developer has delivered everything he promised.

if you are genuinely interested in technical aspects, you can ask the dev. any question on the project's slack channel.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] SpectreCoin on Bitcointalk : spamming or legit interest for the coin ? on: December 24, 2017, 02:48:33 PM
i will be quoting myself here:

i think since spectrecoin hasn't any professional marketing yet, people, who have confidence in its technology (i am one of them, btw) feel the need to spread the word.

while i understand, that this can feel forced and slightly dubios, they have only the best intentions and a solid product to back it up.

i would suggest everyone interested in this coin to just read up on the technology behind it on coinwiki.

if it isn't for you, that's ok too, we are all just trying to make more or less educated guesses.

cheers!

i'm also quite optimistic about them.

i really like their approach of developing a (more than) solid product FIRST, before marketing it aggressively.

i wish more developers would follow that strategy.
