Cryptsy is a diseased pile of crap that should be wiped off this earth.. this exchange will follow MtGox eventually and be brought to justice.

After months and months of fighting with them to give me back my BTC and them accusing me of "intentionally abusing" their system, they liquidated my account and took all my remaining coins which I was forced to leave there and I had hoped would be worth something again one day so I could at least get *some* of my investment back.

So, in short: Double spend bug bought twice the amount of QRK I wanted. Instead of selling immediately, I read people were losing money and decided I'll contact their support so they can sort it and others won't lose coin. It frustratingly took them more than 30 days to respond during which time QRK value dropped significantly. BitJohn said in a IRC chat I should be happy because they "lent" me QRK. I wasn't, I was infuriated because my account was in negative BTC and I couldn't remove the QRK either. So, I gave up and decided to wait. Lo and behold, I logged into my account yesterday and found ALL my QRK was sold on 6 March 2014. I contacted their support asking them WTF was going on, here is their response:



So, you can say whatever you want about what I should've done, what I could've done better etc but here are the facts:

• I tried to be a honest trader by logging a ticket rather than selling. If I sold, I would made more profit than I should've.
• I was worried that if I "cheated" the exchange, I'd have my account closed down for exploitation/hacking
• I have been repeatedly accused by 3 different staff members saying I "intentionally" tried to cheat the system, even after I've exhaustively explained what happened
• My initial BTC investment is gone because of a double spend bug in their exchange
• The QRK I had left behind is now gone too
• They want me to deposit an additional amount of BTC to bring my account into "good standing"

FACT: Cryptsy will not take responsibility for their bugs, they will assume you exploited their exchange (does not matter how well you explain yourself and reference to logs / evidence), they will hold whatever coin you have and sell it without authorization (they didn't even send me an email advising me they'll be doing it. I had no warning.) to recoup "their" supposed loss. This exchange operates like a criminal enterprise and all off this within the borders of the United States.

Please listen carefully: Cryptsy will be shutdown eventually. Especially once they start taking USD deposits. Make sure your funds are NOT on Cryptsy when this happens. Don't give me the opportunity to say "I told you so, now shut the fuck up."

I have kept pretty quiet today as I wanted to see what the general tone is from people.

There are a few things that are abundantly obvious

1. We have grown incredibly fast for a 5 day old coin and a lot of people can see that.. we have over 100k views on here with almost 200 pages..

2. however, contained within those 200 pages is a lot of mixed feedback from people and thats completely fair, we expect it and we/I am doing my best to address all points in the politest way possible in order to bring some order to all the cries of scamming and whatever else.

3. A lot of you guys who are hating on the coin seem to forget that there are a team of people behind this coin, not just Wolong. What I mean by this, is that whilst wolongs is indeed involved, you need to set aside your opinions of him for a minute and consider the other team members on board whilst making an informed decision as to whether or not this coin is for you.

4. Our devs have a very good track record with UNO and it has been an established coin for a long time - I know first hand that not a single person on the team would put themselves in a position where their reputations could be irreparably damaged, myself included, even just from the point of view of being a community facing team member.

5. Lets focus on the bigger picture here.. will this coin succeed? Who knows.. time will certainly tell, but we will be doing our utmost to make that a certainty every step of the way, i can promise you that

6. Lets address the elephant in the room.. Wolong.. is it fair to say that he is not doing this out of some huge altruistic gesture? Absolutely, and it would be stupid to think that. Second, lets not beat around the bush, everyone is involved with crypto for financial gain and what not, the community aspect is fantastic and that is no doubt a secondary reason as to why people are here. Do I believe that wolong is going to make OTHER people money? I don't know, but I hear he has already, multiple times over.. Does that mean that I will personally stake my life savings on his words/promises and whatever else.. absolutely not, but thats not bceause i don't trust the guy, its beacuse thats just my character and i want to be open about it, but thats me.

7. The whole argument with regard to innovation - this is going to become a moot point in a month or so when the vast majority of coins being released are goign to be implementing these technologies as they are a much needed market correction which IN MY OPINION should be rolled out as the defacto way of building new alts (that is with N and KGW). I know a lot of you guys are rooting for vert..but theres no need to 'root' for anyone, we are not at war here and we can certainly each have our own market share without stepping on eachothers toes. We live in an open source community where the drive is to create innovation which can be shared.. not get in to troll pseudo-patent wars over something that is actually going to benefit both past and present devs of new alts.


to summarise -  I would like to give you my unbiased opinion, and i sincerely hope that to both 'schools of thought' here you will take me at my word.
you are all entitled for your own personal reasons to make your own decisions on wolong.. but please be more considerate to the fact that wolong is not doing anything day-to-day to maintain PANDA from a tech standpoint, the network or speak to you all for the most part and to please realise that there are many moving parts to this machine and we hope that whilst your opinion of wolong may be slightly 'low'.. we encourage you to look beyond that to what we are trying to do and work toward as a community.

I am in no way trying to 'win anyone over' here, i am just trying to be fair with those who have taken it upon themselves to hammer this thread with accusations, big black and red letters and all-round mention of distrust/disgust for the guy.

So basically what happend today was. That i tried to withdraw again, and now suddenly it works? But yesterday i wasn't possible?

Well, anyone can be the judge if arbritrarilly random actions are really good if you are an exchange...

So the reason your withdraw got cut in half is if the wallet hangs on a withdraw it will shrink your withdraw down to a point it will send and refund the remainder. WDC wallet doesn't like the large withdraws. Not sure how that equates to stealing your coins.

In fact for the guys saying your coins are stolen.....Why is it you never contact us about this supposed theft? It's FUD. Some folks rant on and on about this but refuse to run their own numbers. I can provide anyone their running balances easy task. You will always get your coins there is no grand conspiracy we unlike others actually have regulatory requirements. Auditors etc.

Now I get that waiting 36 hours for a lost deployment can be painful we think that time is unacceptable ourselves. We want our ticket times at an hour and are working to get there. To contrast however your bank will likely take weeks or months..... Got it its Crypto its gotta be fast we agree working on getting there.

80% of the threads ranting about cryptsy are people that have no patients and who seem to jump to conclusions.

My question is this: I have to 760s running at 90000 Khash each but when I check the debug file in app data it still says my hash rate is like 340 k/hash. Just trying to understand the differentiation here with the keccak alg.

Ok, that happened to me too. I sold more LTC than I actually had, but I knew that was wrong and made sure I had enough to cover it when it would become negative. If you would have researched before you would have realized what to do in case of that. You said you googled it, well then why didn't you sell it right away? No one is saying what Cryptsy allowed with this flaw was OK, we all agree it was a complete fail in their design. But, we knew this and we also knew you would lose money if you didn't sell it right away and got your balance back to positive. Why did you risk losing all your profits?

I've never had a problem with Cryptsy and they've always resolved things in a timely manner. I think they're the best exchange in the US. Everyone taking them to court or complaining about problems with second rate altcoins  is pretty dumb imo.

You most likely kept hitting buy when nothing was confirmed. This happened during a high load time and it IS your fault if you can think logically. When something is getting hammered, do you A. Keep spamming the buy/sell/cancel button or do you B. Hit the button once and then stop touching it.

I was not trying to derail the topic. I was making a joke from what you posted, lighten up a bit champ. And I know Cryptsy has not integrated Fiat into the exchange and personally I hope they never do.

Could someone define "real money"? Is it real because you can hold it your hand? Or a wallet, bank, pocket or hide it under ground in jars?

So the issue here is you were allowed to overbuy QRK. When you noticed it you should have resold the QRK instead you held onto it until it hit rock bottom. You are still responsible to cover the overbuy you can hold until the coin regains its value if you wish but ultimately you are responsible for your purchases. I will refund you the fees if you wish but you are responsible for the negative balance.

I LOGGED THIS TICKET as soon as it happened for you to "fix it" rather than me continuing the exploitation of the exchange. I could've ended up making more BTC on this if I sold at, say, a higher value afterwards. I didn't however.. because I did the right thing by logging this ticket and getting you to resolve it. I cannot BELIEVE you encourage exploitation.

Secondly, I did not make the purchase. I made the initial purchase, your system made the second purchase. So you and only you are responsible for the purchase.

1) Your exchange should not have bought for me... never. Shouldn't have happened - for that, you are responsible.
2) Your exchange should not be stealing my QRK by holding onto it because of your bug - for that you are responsible AND IT'S CRIMINAL.
3) Your support should not have taken over 30 days to get back to me and possibly even "conveniently" taken so long making it impossible for me to get this money back because of the price "hitting rock bottom" -  for that, you are responsible.

Please proceed to refund my xxx of QRK to the given address.

I made a USD wire transfer from a New Zealand bank on 14 November. My account has not been funded yet. I have had a support ticket open for 10 days now without a single response other than it wanting to close my tickets automatically. I have not even gotten a "account on hold" or any type of message. My bank and Mayzus confirmed they have deposited the funds into btc-e's account.

Recently, we started to receive  claims because of the long-time credit of funds transferred by SEPA / WireTransfer. The main problem is that some of our clients have a negligent attitude to the control of the field Details of Payment. As the result it takes an additional time to find your money. Please, make sure, that  the information Details of Payment is always present in the document of transfer, do not shorten it, don not  use your account username.

"We don't accept international wire transfers from US Citizens or from US Banks

All transfers from US Citizens or US Bank will be refused by bank"

I don't remember seeing this until today.  It's probably been added recently due to issues from US customers and such a high demand with current prices.  Sorry to hear about your situation.
