1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Global bithackathon for game developers with $5500 in prizes on: January 29, 2015, 04:30:58 AM
Could this be any game but has in-game bitcoin purchases ?

It can be any game. You can even use the data from blockchain just to generate the world, it doesnt matter, just have to be related. For now, you can make inapp purchases just not for iOS games (working on that)

Hey Everyone

I'm from the Coinding team, we're one of the bitcoin companies at the 500 startups accelerator and we're looking to bring bitcoin tech into gaming to empower game developers.

This week we're doing a hackathon with $5500 in prizes to challenge game developers around the world to integrate block chain technology into videogames.

We built a bitcoin API to facilitate its implementation into most game developing frameworks (Unity, GameMaker, HTML5) so that we can get some fresh talent on board without necesarily needing to know all the nuances of bitcoin development.

To participate or learn more go here:

Good Luck!
4  Bitcoin / Project Development / Coinding - A fun intro into the bitcoin world! on: April 14, 2014, 10:09:21 PM
Hi Everyone!

Our team just launched Coinding, a bitcoin mobile game to help spread awareness and use of the currency, and to help all the newbies dip their toes in the water without risk. We're currently in an open beta in 3 canadian cities: Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto.

Afterwards it will be rolled out in a series of interactive events for free in dozens of different major cities around the world, before eventually being released worldwide.
More features will be added like allowing you to vote in-game for shops nearby that you wish would accept bitcoins, and they'll get contacted automatically so that you can hopefully buy your goodies with btc from that place the next time you go!

The project is an initiative to spread awareness and use of the cryptocurrency in a cool way around the world.

Wild idea here, but have you thought about doing identity atm's? Someway you can prove your id, photo, and location without having to send it to any company? Secured through cryptography of course. Just thinking of a way to follow the KYC/AML regulations without having to deal with a centralized entity.

Interesting idea, E. Sorta like btc geocaching?

Sounds like you're still ironing some things out. To that end, you should probably see here.

Yes! it's geocaching + btc + games

I've been following your post in here for a long time and just wanna say thanks for all the info you post. As an entrepreneur that's been in the btc community for a short time (in btc terms that is) is always helpfull to get feedback from long term users in the community. I've been taking a look at that article for some time now, i'll try to follow every point Smiley
Thanks

Hi, we're launching a new app called www.coinding.com It's a real world treasure hunt.

We help people get their first bitcoins with an interactive multiplayer game. There's going to be bitcoins hidden on the streets of every city, and you collect them for free while walking with your cell phone.
Also, we'll link places that accept bitcoins so you can see their location in the map. We just launched the sign up page with a contest to help us pick the first city for the launch! there will be a lot of cool prizes for the winning city!

Its basically Google Ingress meets BTC faucets. We've been working for some time on this, and is a great way to bring users that dont understand bitcoins yet (we'll implement game dinamics to explain mining and other concepts) and by linking shops that accept bitcoins we're helping them get exposure aswell!

Help us with your feedback, thoughts or just drop us an email to say hi.

We're very cautious about security of people. For now we're setting up were the btc are located on our own based on different information and time schedules for each city we launch. If we add a crowsourced mechanism for setting up places, first thing on the list is the security, always.
