1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.5 on: May 24, 2018, 04:57:30 AM

Is that so?  Check my post again.  I mentioned it was working and didn't work later during relaunch.
Too lazy to take another screenshot but here are 6 x 4gb card doing the same settings on CNH.  Anyways,  I got the RX570's running at 59 intensity too.

I replied in the reddit thread, but will repeat it here in case others won't see that thread.
It's the difference between 570 4GB and 5804GB. I believe that the increased cores, TMUs and CUs allow the 580 to use higher intensity. There also might be more of the 4GB memory able to be utilized for processing on the 580.

Card Type                                 RX570         vs           RX580
Shader Processing Units (cores)   2048      vs               2304
Texture Mapping Units                 128      vs                 144
Compute Units                             32          vs               36

There also might be more of the 4GB memory able to be utilized for processing on the 580. Without running an OpenCL command, you can look at GPU-Z Advanced tab > OpenCL drop down. Scroll down and it lists "Max Memory Allocation". All of my cards each show 3264MB (or 3422552064 bytes if you calculate it out). Can you look at your 580 4GB cards and see what this shows for them?

Hi @doktor83, I would really like to see more logging information in the log file. A starting point would be all the text that is yellow in the miner command window - Temp, Fan RPM, Clock Speeds, etc. There is also some info missing in the logfile when I hit 's'.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 14, 2018, 10:05:53 PM

Here the best results are at 60 intensity and just one thread. At 1230/2020 I can reach 775~785H/s in my RX570 4GB 4GB Elpida.

How are you able to run 60 intensity, 8 worksize on a 4GB card?
I am only able to run at 51 intensity with 8 worksize. At 52 I get a scratch pad size error, meaning not enough physical mem on the card.
I'm getting around 700H/s for two Hynix cards at 1350/2000.

Anyone ever got this error?

[2018-05-13 00:26:37] What? A debugger or a hex editor? No way.

After this, SRBMiner just restarts.

Been pretty much fine though, 2 days running 10 vegas on CN heavy, 1450h/s 875 mem and 1430 core clock.

Know what it means?
I got this when I was running a debugger to look at a Windows crash dump while mining. check your windows processes if you see this again and see if there's something out of the ordinary.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 12, 2018, 05:34:25 AM
Have you tried other drivers , or lowering the intensity ?
There was a bug that made random app crashes, but that was fixed, that's why i asked if a crash window appears.
Been running the Hynix cards as I usually do (1350/2000) and no issues. The Samsung card is running at 1281/1750 and has been running for 2 days 22 hours +. I think it's just on me being too aggressive with OC. Sorry about that.

I'm also noticing that after coming out of devfee it sometimes has a few hashes of [2018-05-11 22:48:07] miner_result: Duplicate share protection kicked in!

Sometimes it's a few, sometimes none, and a couple of times over the ~2 weeks using it I've noticed it ran for a good couple of hours with duplicate shares. I'm not too concerned at this point but wanted to let you know.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 10, 2018, 05:53:05 AM
How does it crash, a window opens saying the app has crashed, or ?

It crashes with a blue screen!
That was a joke (a bad one) Wink

Usually happens overnight. I'll wake up to find one of two things:
1) System has restarted on its own.
2) System is hung. I can't even get the monitor to wake up (using on board video, do not have remote capability yet). However, the cards are all behaving like they are hashing in the sense that they fans are running around~2000 RPM but the pool web page says no hashes from my rig. My only option at this point is to force restart the system.

It's pretty consistent that it will do this in ~24 hour timeframe.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 10, 2018, 05:03:19 AM
if the miner crashes, then it can't write anything to the log Smiley
Which version are you using?
True! I was hoping it would log something before crash that might give me a clue as to what it was.
I'm using 1.5.1, but I see 1.5.2 was released on the 8th - is there any logging enhancement or stability enhancement worth checking out? AMD driver 18.2.1.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 10, 2018, 01:15:11 AM
@Doktor83 - does SRB cache the GPU compile data anywhere on the hard drive to speed up the process in future? I've noticed that one GPU (Vega 64) will not perform better on Heavy no matter what I do but when testing Alloy it outperforms the other GPUs (Vega 56). My current suspicions are that there's either a bug in your implementation for Vega 64 or there's some caching happening and I need to delete these files.

Thanks.

I thought I saw this in the log or CLI but I don't see it on my system now. There is a C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\SRBMiner directory path but there was nothing, not even hidden files in there on my system.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 10, 2018, 01:07:43 AM
@Doktor83 - is there any way to increase logging output? I am having a daily crash and the log is not catching anything. The log is continuing normal with no errors and the next timestamp is when I restart the miner.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.2 on: May 10, 2018, 01:00:05 AM
hey guys, what sort of tool do you use otherthan overdriven? all my GPUs (580,570,560) are having MUCH higher voltages than the 875-900 mv in the bios.... this is new though with 18.3.4 and latest windows 1709 (DON'T do april, as usual, microsoft is sooo stupid destroying everything).
Also, does anyone have Good Elpida (BABG) and Hynix (AJR) timings (4gb Ellsemere GPUs) other than the one click?
I have some 560s which have no more gains with clocking memory over 2000 (eplida) hash rate is maxed at 548 changing core from 1050-1200+++ doesnt do anything.

I wouldn't call them 'good' as all i did was copy 1500 strap to the higher versions. I have 2 Hynix 570 Gaming X 4GB cards that are hashing right at 700h/s (CN-heavy) using autointensity (50). 1350/1000mv and mem is 2000/850. I see little to no benefit in memory clock and only see a difference in hashrate on Core clock.
My one other card is the same but has Samsung. I am having issues with it hanging/crashing the miner itself or windows. I believe it doesn't like the memory timing so I need to change it I just haven't taken the time to do that yet and currently deal with restarting the miner every ~24 hours or so.

Still running nsgminer with no issues.

Code:
 nsgminer v0.9.4 - NeoScrypt : [2018-01-24 19:10:10] - [  0 days 06:57:46]

I do not know why GGS would cause a blue screen but i have been running another miner for many hours now, also running OC/undervolt and mem timing changes, which I did not have in place when running GGS.

I just wanted to report back that nsgminer is still up and running.

Code:
 nsgminer v0.9.4 - NeoScrypt : [2018-01-24 19:10:10] - [  1 day  03:29:27]

I guess it could be something in my config but it is being triggered by GGS for some reason. Hashrate on this seems equal as far as I can tell. I might try it again in a few more version updates.

It's something with your windows. DirectX have nothing with mining. Programs for mining use different way to use cards, through OpenCL.
I'm running NSGminer,  for the last 2.5 hours and no issues. Will continue to let it run and see.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gateless Gate Sharp 1.2.7: zawawa's open-source dual ETH/XMR/PASC/LBC/FTC miner on: January 25, 2018, 12:28:31 AM
I did just update to the one updated today. It just crashed again but this time I noticed some weird behavior, like Chrome would open after a 30s delay or web pages would also take a long time to open/connect. I then stopped the miner and was going to reboot, but when I hit the X to close GGS, it blue screened...again. This time it gave a different DXG file as the culprit so it at least doesn't like DirectX 12. Something else is going on so I might just do a windows repair or do a complete reinstall. I've had too many crashes and now weird behavior so I think it needs a rebuild.

I didn't think that DirectX was involved in mining. I'd be happy to learn otherwise.

How much pagefile size is set on your system? Try to increase it to summary size of your videocards videomemory.
Check drive where pagefile located on errors via My computer or chkdsk command.

I didn't see your post earlier and just checked - pagefile is at 24G, which was recommended and set by GGS when I installed it about a week ago. I have 2 cards at 4G each so this is more than enough based on your recommendation to match the size of the video cards.

I checked RAM and disk for errors overnight and no issues with either one.

I found that a Windows patch updated the DXGKRNL file, but I was having crashes before this update. I uninstalled that update and will also try newest miner version to see if that helps.

Are you using the recommended driver (18.1.1) with CrossFire off?
The log file is in %AppData%.

18.1.1 freshly installed (had 17.12.2 but removed with DDU)
I don't even have the CrossFire option in Global Gaming

I don't see anything in the log that's tellling. This is the last few entries before the last blue screen....there is nothing. Anyway to increase the logging?

Ahh, well that was too soon. It crashed again. Windows page fault. I have scanned the drive and ran sfc /scannow and no errors.
Any thoughts on this? Is there a log I can pull info from or setup to help?

Edit:Where does this application even log to? I see nothing in the install dir.
