Lot of credit cards offer intro 0% apy for 12-18 months. Just an option. Or get a personal loan.

I wouldn't recommend till after eth goes POS

This is false. Especially false if you didn't have electricity costs like I did. That link you provided requires a paid subscription. I was able to spend money on hardware once, and mine eth all year long.

I get you're a bear and thats your shtick on here...

You are saying fact as pointed here https://www.statista.com/statistics/1201657/ethereum-mining-profitability/ is false to conform to your narrative and that is when I leave the discussion, have a good day.

Unfortunately, you're lumping all situations into one general assumption. Its okay. If you have a 1 time cost of the equipment and no power cost, then you're incorrect. Have a nice day.

Even your link provided states "Whether a miner can make money with this depends on various costs such as electricity consumption during this process, transaction fees or whether the hardware used is efficient or not."

Do you have any proof that shows why shiba inu is a scam project? This whole thing is making me look the project like another bitconnect all over again, the insane volume and liquidity also other use cases like shibaverse and shiba swap I don't see any reason to kill this project for anything, the community support is just too strong.

The only proof I have is "I see as I see", yeah bit-connect I said the same thing. What makes me very skeptical about it, is everyday you see scammers marketing it and writing articles and implying "whales bought billions of it" at social media hehe and price so far still going down, that is a red flag no matter how you see it, I know when something is a scam by how is being marketed, call a 6th sense hunch.

Estimated rewards in 2019 based on 2mil diff was anywhere from .15-.30 with a small farm of 250mh/s. Purchasing 8x 580/480 at $60-$120 a card. You would have an investment cost of 1K maybe for everything. You would earn 1 eth in about 4-6 days. by years end you would have ended roughly at 50 eth. This is all rough math. Buying about 1k of eth @ 100$ per would fetch you 10 eth.

So what is better? Buying 1k of eth at $100 a coin? Or making roughly .10-.30 eth a day with a small farm?

OP is correct. Mining when diff is down and equipment, difficulty, and interest is low is the best time for miners. This allows for coin accumulation at faster rates. Mining all of 2019 vs buying once, if considering equal capital is applied on both sides, would have been the better choice.

I mined all of 2018, 2019, and 2020. Picked up cards at heavily discounted rates, mined on em for 2-3 years, and sold them for 7-10x of what I purchased them for. Plus, this avoids "on ramps" and "kyc" if you had to use Fiat to purchase the coin.

As far as I remember, for every eth you mined you spent 65% more than if you decided to have bought directly, it was like this, buy 1 eth for 100 usd or mine 1 eth and pay 165 usd. You can check profitability here https://www.statista.com/statistics/1201657/ethereum-mining-profitability/ and that data is the real deal, you can argue all you want but fact is fact and that data shows the best case scenario and the best case scenario was 5 to 10 cents per 30mhs per day, the worse case scenario was negative at around 1 usd per 30mhs.

This is false. Especially false if you didn't have electricity costs like I did. That link you provided requires a paid subscription. I was able to spend money on hardware once, and mine eth all year long.

At the true bottom of the bear market, even if you got cheap or free power, most of you will not bother to mine at all.

In 2019 when ETH was $100, the rx580 made about $0.20 a day in profit with 10 cents electrical it made a total of $0.00 in profit.

So even if your power was 5 cents or free, most wouldn’t bother doing this to make a dime a day per GPU. If you really believed in crypto you would just buy it directly instead of mining it.

I recommend going back to phoenix miner, it's simply one of the best miners for ETH right now, even other mining softwares auto activate phoenix miner before any other Ethereum miners, Trex miner is even deactivated in Nicehash for unknown reasons

Yeah use phönixminer if you want inflationary hashrates. T-rex gives the best results Poolside and if you do it right, reported hashrate from t-rex and phönixminer is the same. If you can´t handle good miners, don´t write crap.

Hi @sxemini I'm a bit lost here, what do you mean by inflationary hashrate? The best result you are referring to on T-Rex miner does it have something to do with better shares solving or what ? Thank you

TRM did a study and found Phoenix inflates their hashrate on the users side but is actually few % less on poolside.

https://github.com/Kerney666/trm-ethash-miner-tester

The two major closed source AMD ethash miners, Claymore and Phoenix, both indicate a significant element of added hash rate of +1.5-2.3% in their displayed and reported values. Please note that this does not automatically imply ill intent. It also does not mean a higher-than-specified dev fee. However, it does mean that the vast majority of AMD ethash miners would be better off running a different miner

Im getting error 1002 when trying to apply straps to 1070ti

windows 10, it mines fine but will not apply memory straps.

"Failed to install driver, error 1002"
Try running as administrator. If still not work uninstall and reinstall driver (See OP for details)

I DDU'd and reinstalled. Seems like it thinks the service is in use. Anyway I can delete the -mt driver itself?

Running it as admin as well.

It will start when I put it as "--mode=8". Trying to assign modes to GPUs doesnt work. Also there's literally 0 explanation in the readme or your website on the different modes. I only found this out by running --ocX. It would be nice if you went into detail about the modes and how to use them properly.
Hi impynick,
--mode has been an experimental setting and we often make some modifications.
Yet, you have a point, we will introduce some information about it in the website.  Smiley

Regarding the error, please try --mode0 8 (without the  '='). Sorry about this. Normally miniZ options work both ways (with and without '='). Could you let us know if it works this way? Or if there is something else going on?

Thanks a lot for the feedback!
Cheers

Sure i will give it a shot. Dont mean to come across in a rude way. Thank you guys for your work on the miner
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: miniZ, fast & friendly Equihash 144,5 150,5,3 125,4 192,7 210,9 150,5 96,5 miner on: June 18, 2020, 02:40:41 AM
I've checked this, the Nicehash client fork indeed specifies --par=150,5 in the command line. All I could do for now is adding --par=150,5,3 in addition to --par=150,5 (before it, actually); that didn't help. I'll contact the author of the program.
Hi Kringel,
Thank you for letting us know.

Writing --par=150,5,3 after --par=150,5 would work... The last one overrides the previous one.

Can you try this? : Add -p just before --par=150,5.  The command line would then end with -p --par=150,5.
This will set the whole string --par=150,5 to the password.

Maybe you can manage with this workaround?

Cheers
Thanks for the quick responses and insight on the source of the problem.

Unfortunately all custom parameters in the Nicehash fork always appear at the start of the final parameter string, and --par is somewhere in the middle of the default command line, so with additional -p miniZ just stops working. Have to wait for a fix, usually they arrive relatively fast.

UPD: actually, I already see the fix on the Github, will try it tomorrow.

:loop
.\miniZ.exe --url=ssl://3d8504893c964b667d87e7f37b90ee2adfec2d5c52d5a1b571bc6a5261b47fb421c@censord.com:3333 -p x --par=150,5 --pers=GrimmPOW --show-shares --shares-detail --latency --extra --all-shares --log --mode0=8
timeout /t 5
goto loop

Only happens with miniz. Same settings work with Gminer. I even dropped mem OC from 500 to 400 and still getting this error. Miner shuts down.

I am using ocX setting. How can i get it to assign "mode 8" to this gpu? Seems to crash when switching to "mode 9"

I want to use MiniZ but its not stable atm.  On 150,5 (grimm/Defis)

Hi There,

I'm trying to mine Equihash 150,5 but the miner (2.10) is always restarting stating that "All devfee pools are unavailable". Can you please update (maybe with a new version) your devfee pools so that the miner works again

Thanks in advance.
same problem here , please let me know how to get it fixed, thanks

If Gminer can change the dev fee pool to sunpool.top that would alleviate the issue.

Cannot solo 150,3 atm either.

150.5 grimm improvements would win you all tthe market share over gminer Smiley

Hey guys,

i am old school miner on Vega 56:)

i used TRM doing 44.5Mh but now i want to use Claymore (it's more legend miner), currently doing 43.5Mh losing 1Mh a card, i am mining with 380x Vega 56 and using MmpOS as OS is there maybe a switch optimizing the hashrate 1Mh loss might not seem alot but multiple with 380x it's actually alot

Cheers!

PS i use core 950 / mem 940Mhz (Hynix) or 960Mhz (Samsung) @ 837

TRM gets 50Mh on hynix vega56. You're leaving more than 10% on the table by switching

with all the scammers posting virus-infected miners it makes people skeptical about using miners from unknown devs unfortunately Sad
