What do you mean speculative? All these numbers are from the blog posts go check them yourself. And with messengers more users = more valuable network. This is enough imo (and this my speculation) to put gems at around 10k satoshi, it just needs to get noticed.
Also what this does show is that there is progress, the team has been updating the client ~ once a month and users have been growing, which is the metric of success for a mess anger.

Getgemz had 30K users at 11/24, not even a full 5 months later and we have 120K id say that's achieving something. I think we should implement a user marketplace for sticker packs in the app. Let users create there own sticker packs and upload them to the marketplace and put them for sale. This would give users more places to spend 1gemz and it would even work for the users who only get gemz VIA daily drops. This idea could be expanded into skins, fonts, ect. I think having a community marketplace could add alot of value to getgemz.

Im getting 160 gems per day so the guy complaining about 1 gems per day doesnt know how to use the app, there is an airdrop button which can give you much more if you have social connections.
Instead of chastising new users, why not explain what you did to get 160 Gemz daily? It was my understanding that the airdrop is almost entirely based on what you purchased during the ICO. For instance, did you originally purchase around 13 btc of Gemz? That would give an estimated ~160/day based on the polling in the discussion group. No fewer than 13 btc, but i have referrals who are active. i get between 155 and 165. So the more the users you refer use the app the more you get paid? I am a fan of the coin but what is the purpose of the app? Collect as much data from text message history as possible? lol The main purpose is the attention economy, which is going to be advertisements you get payed for that you can opt in and out of. |

The real story? Nobody is selling this coin. All the ICO buyers are holding tight. You'll have to pry the GEMS from our cold dead hands at this price. Coming on a message board and slandering all involved is not going to help. You may keep some newbies from participating from what we KNOW is coming and that is sad. The potential of GEMS is "phenomenal" and PayKey is a HUGE reason. If you have any doubt, get the facts. Don't let a few "immoral trolls" on this board keep you from participating or at least investigating a little more. Getgems is the BIGGEST crypto opportunity to come along in a long time. I'm still accumulating GEMS when I can, I don't have a huge reason to set the story straight on this board. It takes a lot of effort that an "accumulating GEMS ICO holder" just can't muster at this point.  My advice to anyone reading this board for the first time.....Download the app, start collecting the "daily GEM", refer a few friends and collect even more. There is nothing to lose, all to gain when the price of GEMS increases. And for the bolder few, get to Poloniex, buy a few and hold on tight. Well said! It took over a year to get to 50k users. Then it took a little over 2 months to go from 50k to 100k users. Just think about that for a minute....If that pace keeps up (and there is every reason to believe it will), we will be at 800k users around 6 months from now and in 8 months or so we will be at over a million users! Then 2 months later, 2 million users? How much do you think Gemz will be worth when we are talking about numbers like that? And of course, once the price of Gemz starts going up, people are going to start talking about it more and start referring more friends, which will make the price go up, which will increase awareness and downloads, which will make the price go up, and so on. In my opinion Gemz is not just the best investment in crypto right now, it is what you call the opportunity of a lifetime. Lol your saying gems is growing at 25 000 new users a month? Sure, bring out your stats to prove this bullshit stupid hype. Trying to unload your bags? or maybe youve done it already by now lol. Last month we gained 15K users. Go though my history to find theses stats, im sure you've already seen them with the way you stalk this thread but you just choose to ignore them. |

Ive been bitching about the paykey deal since it came out, but seeing GG at 68 in CMC convinced me to speculate again and buy up some. Gems certainly has a lot more going them than some of (a lot) the coins which now stand above them.
Cut the bs it was always around these ranking just new coins got added with higher market caps. Another cheerleader that went from bashing the hell out of this bs app to being an admirator just because he now owns some bs gems. Bunch of hypocrits that never question daniel and his fuckin team while other apps out there are making progress on a daily basis. hey Daniel Why dont you tell people you were talking about switching from counterparty to ethereum? or trying to keep this hidden until you by enough of these cheap coins and dump it all like youve done with your premined "team" coins? Cant wait to see you eat your words. 1. The Marketcap fluctuates so there is no way its "always around these rankings" when its changed value 2x at the extremes. 2. Im pretty sure that Daniel was asked if he would consider switching from counterparty to ethrum to which he responded if it makes sense. And why do you keep acting like daniel hides behind some secret door? He clearly said that in the group chat, which you clearly saw there. In 5 years maybe, This is a ghost town. Community as well as inside the app different groups. Barely see 10-15 people active. Its understandable since there is nothing good happening like softstorb stated. Do you live under a rock? If we sustain the current growth we will reach 1M users within a year. (80K users this month, 50% increase a month) 120k, 180k, 270k, 405k, 600k, 900k, 1.350M by October. Will GetGems continue to grow at the same pace? I dont know, but it has for the past 4 months. Devs are still actively updating the app (iOS still isent on android levels), and Airdrop / AE entices new users. Yep a nice growth while there was still some hype. Keep in mind these are downloads and in no way this app is providing features that attract non cryptoers to keep using it. Who cares about airdrop and AE when you just want to download a messenger? Some people have been complaining about the fact that attention is more on paykey then getgems and thats the truth. Thats why this app wont make it to 1M anytime soon. Stop thinking we are almost at 100k users were far from this I wonder if there is even 10k users on the app. Downloads and users are 2 different things. By the way Daniel should introduce a thread for paykey as a part of the GetGems Company, since paykey was clearly funded with Some of the Getgems ICO. Why Keeping both project completely separate when the same funds were used to start both? OK i see what you mean, so lets assume only 10% of the people who download it are active. So you'd need 10M downloads for 1M users. Following that rate of downloads GG will hit it march of next year. And id argue that as the downloads increase user retention will increase as well because people will keep using the app to chat with there friends. |

I think that we should incorporate a community market. For example i would like to see it be easy to upload stickers to the GG store and have users buy them for say 2gemz (1 going to charity/w.e 1 going to the content creater). This idea can be expanded into themes, fonts, sounds, ect. I think this type of community marketplace would be a great benefit to the GetGems App because it would allow people to spend there gemz. This would also be a huge benefit to the content creator and make a huge marketplace for them, just consider if GG did reach 1M users and you made the most popular sticker pack with 800K buys. Thats 800K gems for a sticker pack! That is a great reward for the content creators and i think because of this we will see alot of high quality content

Quick chart i whipped up from numbers given by Daniel. I had to estimate the first 2 android numbers but the last one is accurate. As you can see since 11/24/15 GetGems has gotten 57K new users and the rate at which iOS is getting new users is clearly increasing. Pretty good if you ask me. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the story with android as well if we had real data instead of estimates  |

Every 24 hours we add the number of ad consumers, the number of ads consumed and we distribute the Gems paid by the advertiser amongst the ad consumers. Do new users know this? Imo it's neccessary to notify users that they will get paid for receiving ads. I don't think they know this feature. Its still in beta and Advertising channels are opt-in. Im sure they will make it obvious that you get payed for joining the channel. |

Gemz will rich 50-100 Mio. market cap soon. No doubt on that.
One user at facebook is worth 100$.
If this will hold for gemz--------------> you know what I mean.
Very flawed logic, i dont think a user on GG has no where near the same value as on FB. Nonetheless I do think gems will be big with the AE. |

I don't know if people have suggested it already but what Gemz app needs is a simple in app function to buy more Gemz. Something like you have a few simple choices, 10 gems, 50 gems, 100 gems bundle. With users numbers that would explode the value of gems.
Id love to see a community around sticker packs, letting people make there own sticker packs and put them on the market for 10,50 like you said would be awesome. User additions/items for sale in the store (bought in gemz) would get very interesting. I thought you already could buy stickers, can't you already make stickers? Or am I thinking about Line or another app? I think sticking to online products is the simple way to go, these days having Amazon credits mean you can buy almost anything. I think you can make stickers, and you can buy stickers, but i dont think you currently get paid for made stickers. |

Can someone fill me in on this whole paykey shit storm?
What is it and why are people saying gemz is dead & dev sold out?
I actually put in the hours trying to catch up (sigh...) As best as I can tl;dr: Paykey is a smartphone key app that will allow money transfer on many popular social-networking apps. Daniel & the GetGemz team are planning to sell "white-label" versions of PayKey to banks, which the banks can rebrand under their own name and tie into their own (fiat) accounts. The reason why there've been the cries of "sellout" is that some folks thought that Daniel et. al. would stick to making their fintech for cryptocurrency exclusively. Best I can determine, GetGems came up with PayKey because the venture-capital company that invested $400,000 into Daniel's company (Magma) prefers a more "salable" solution so as to bump up the chances of selling their piece of Daniel's company at a big profit down the road. In other words, the Magma folks are acting like typical ventcaps. The people who've been yelling about it seem to be afflicted with "longshot-itis," caused by them buying a huge chunk of GEMZ and fantasizing about getting rich off them. It's sad in a way, but some people do go through that stage; I went through something like it earlier and learned yet another hard-way lesson.  As for their accusations, none of us have access to the books so none of us know what was being spent on what. As Daniel pointed out, those accusations are actually irrelevant to the contract terms for the GEMZ ICO. To the extent that he and the rest of his company engages in "mission creep," it'll delay the payout of the ICO funds to his company. Anyhoo...the disappointment & rancour has driven the price of GEMZ down to about half its 5000-satoshi floor. Interesting idea on the Magnum folks, probably whats going on. People are quick to forget paykey also works for gems, so gems do gain value from paykey. |

So just to make sure I understand the process behind paykey.
1- Download paykey and activate the keyboard
2- Attach a bank or credit card account to paykey
3- Send money to anyone in $
4- This Money is used by buying gems ( so technically people are receiving gemz?)
If people are receiving gemz and they want to cashout this same amount of money, how to assure them they will be able to cashout the same value of $ they have received. I don't think it would be a problem if the market wouldn't fluctuate that much.

Not exactly, Right now the alpha version of paykey only works with sending gems. In the future getgems will sell versions to banks that will use that will that let you link CC/Bank(It is likely that the gems one will support CC/banks as well as BTC/Gems. I think this has positive implications for getgems, and more specifically gems as the token. First and foremost gems will be the easiest crypto to send anywhere, anytime. Second they are still developing the attention economy, with the attention economy they will be able to enable ads in the app/webclient, as well as the paykey keyboard (obviously ads should be optional). Not to mention any funding they get from paykey CAN (note: im not saying they will) be used to also fund getgems. |
