When you use the BIP39 option in Electrum, I believe that it doesn't check spelling or the checksum of the seed etc... so you have to be VERY careful when typing the seed in.

Also, if you have put in a seed you believe to be 100% and it shows nothing... double check the derivation path that you used... Electrum defaults to m/44'/0'/0', but for MultiBitHD it should be: m/0'

NOTE: The apostrophe after the 0 is VERY important... so again... it is: m/0'

As for the different balance when importing the private keys... MultiBitHD and MultiBit Classic are two different wallets. MultiBit HD did not allow the import of MultiBit Classic keys... you had to send the coins from MBC to MBHD.

So the keys from MBC will not be the same as the keys for MBHD... so the balances in the two wallets will be different.
Problem was a typo I made somewhere, so I got access to my wallet in Electrum now. Thank you!

Is there any way I can transfer the btc between wallets locally or does it have to go through the network (including a fee)?
2  Other / MultiBit / Re: export multibit hd private key on: February 13, 2018, 07:16:44 PM
As for the actual process, it would be fairly easy... simply import your MultiBit HD seed into Electrum, move your BTC to a new wallet... then import your MultiBit HD seed into Electron Cash... move the BCH to a new BCH wallet... finally, you would need to either import your seed into Coinomi to get BTG... or use https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ along with MultiBitHD seed to get the private keys to import into BTG Core.
So, if I import my seed into Electrum but it reports an empty wallet when my Multibit says I have a few mBTC left it is the wrong key?
I also have Multibit classic still installed, so i tried exporting the private keys from there. When I import those in a new Electrum wallet my balance is also different from Multibit HD. I guess there must be some sort of private key only in Multibit HD, but I understand I can't get that out without the seed?
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: unwanted BIT.AC wallet on: June 15, 2017, 12:37:03 PM
hi. today i received a mail satin that my bit.ac wallet had been created. along with a password.

I never did that. is someone trying to use my Id. or are they (bit.ac) this aggressive in order to get new custommer?

thanks

?Hi, I am a nigerian prince, I have for you 5 million usd in the form of gold in a secure storage vault I opened for you."

Do u think the above statement is aggressive marketing or a scam?

I recently received a scam email claiming to be from Blockchain.info too, but if you check the raw email , you will realised that it is formatted to look like the real one, all the links are not to the actual site.
They also created an account for me, there are no links in the email and no money is promised to be present in the wallet. They also supply a plaintext password in the welcome mail so trying to phish me with a password they sent would be really weird.

This has all the looks of an overly aggressive marketing campain especially since the mail headers prove the mail to be from their actual mail server: "Received: from mail.bit.ac ([85.25.109.227]) by BAY004-MC2F48.hotmail.com over TLS secured channel with Microsoft SMTPSVC(7.5.7601.23143);"
4  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Do NOT Buy From DUTYFREE.IO They Are Now Scamming People Even Changing Site on: May 30, 2017, 10:16:46 AM
I came online here searching for a recent review because my last 2 orders haven't been delivered either and I am not getting any response from them at all anymore. So be warned: this looks like an exit scam from them.

Hey guys, did the coin change with the wallet 2.0 version? I downloaded the new version and tried to import my wallet.dat but it didn't seem compatible so I just let it create a new wallet.dat. When it finished loading the blockchain I sent my Noble from my old wallet to the new (12+ hrs ago) but nothing has arrived yet. I haven't been active in the scene for a while but I didn't see anything about this on the main post.

Too sad. A really brilliant site.
I hope you find a good one, to keep up the awesome service.
Thank you, I hope so too that someone will carry on this project.
8  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Cointweak.com [domain] or [website] on: October 13, 2014, 11:01:47 AM
The past few months I have been running the website https://cointweak.com. As you can read on my homepage I can no longer continue this project and I have decided to sell the entire project including domain name, current filled database, updater scripts and help with setting up and maintaining the service. Technical level required to maintain the server is knowledge of phpmyadmin and basic php knowledge to add new coins. Everything website based can be done in the admin interface like adjusting the menu or editing text on the pages.

Place your offers in this thread or via PM.
For people with serious interest I can supply some more details statistics about site visits and revenue.

If you need more info don't hesitate to ask and I will try to answer it.

I think a fair few of us during the journey from Jan. release to now have been promoted from zero to senior. Tongue
I am still only a full member, but that may be because I haven't been really active the last 2 months.

We were told that by the end of last week the marketplace would be updated but nothing yet

I updated on marketplace, said we were waiting on SSL and linked to the new build here: http://marketplace.noblemovement.com/.
I am looking at the amazon giftcards now and I see a $50 .com card going for $51, where a €50 .de card goes for €69. Is this an error somewhere because that is a ridiculous amount in my opinion.

On this moment my greatest fear are the exchanges. Every time again the BS comes from them. What I don't understand is why they can't or won't make their security up to the level where it should be.

There are so many exchanges for stocks, how come that they are secure and the crypto scene has all these problems? Are the exchanges scamming us? Are they really attacked by hackers? To be honest I don't believe that they are, it's an easy excuse and nobody really checks if they where really attacked.

Or am I not allowed to say this?Huh
Because exchanges that trade in normal stock also have a potential for far more money, thus making them invest more. Also, there is a higher standard defined by law before you can open an exchange that deals with money and stocks, which there is not in the world of crypto.
And there is also the risk of not even getting any 'customers' after spending tens of thousands in security because crypto people follow the big mass like sheep and only go to the 'popular' exchanges. This is partly due to the number of sketchy small exchange and partly due to the fact this crypto world works based on mini-hypes.

On topic: what term are you thinking about going PoS? Will there be a lengthy development process to iron out some flaws in the PoS system and make the transition smooth, or will it be a quick copy&paste from other PoS coins to create a quick mini-hype (and pump)?

What is going that the price still dropping?
It's quite simple really.  The majority of people aren't interested in helping anyone in this world and the only people having any real interest in this coin are the miners who seem only too happy to dump at pointless prices.
Plus the only real exchange it is on(poloniex) is being heavily manipulated by a bot which no one wants to trade against.

I dunno about that.  I think if it even made enough to break even you'd have lots of people folding.  I also think you could get a lot of progressives to use or at least promote curecoin when they might be hesitant about bitcoin due to the vast number of right wingers in the BTC community.

I think the biggest problem here, even moreso than the technical limitations of the coin implementation (the premine and IPO instead of split rewards ala devcoin, lack of merge mining) is the complete lack of marketting.  This coin could absolutely be written about in major print magazines if the marketing and community outreach was even halfway decent.
But you do break even/make a small profit from folding: https://cointweak.com/calculator/coin/cure/FAH

Either that calculator is way off, or 90% of folders have quit since I last folded.  I had 600k PPD and was getting about 20 coins per day, and using about 1500W.  Folding runs cool, but it still uses about 80% of electricity that scrypt mining does.
Yes, the daily folding points have gone down a lot unfortunately. http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?t=224497 <-- is where I get my stats for that calculator.

My research has told me that folding is at least a 50% cut in power usage compared to scrypt, with some people even reporting only 30% of scrypt. If you can show me otherwise I am glad to correct that part of the calculator. Smiley
20  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling Amazon/NewEgg giftcards 5% discount on: June 30, 2014, 10:40:15 AM
can you get me bigger amounts like 500$+.......what will be the discount then? gc4btc offers 20% off
I will be able to get bigger amounts, but it will probably have to be done in multiple batches. Or, if you want it on 1 card I will have to talk to my supplier and see if it is possible.
I can go up to 10% discount with an order that big.

Thanks! Will let you know soon. Obviously escrow is a must or you send first
Sure, escrow is fine by me.
