Anybody done the following?

Any feedback?

Z1 miner

Latest FW 1116

Modified miner.json file

from

"auto_frequent":"0","frequency":"900","

to

"auto_frequent":"1","frequency":"1000","

I did...does not work with Firmware 1116

about overclock , maybe next version. i need more test .
about hashrate goes down ,  just config autorestart , if hashrate low , auto restart will slove this problem.

New Firmware 20181116 - Overclocking bye bye

How do i know that? Very easy...

I made a lot of tests about OC
You can check it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5038441.msg46842719#msg46842719

Before my miner stopped working (Fan Check Problem - now solved with version 20181116), i was running Firmware 20180930.
Firmware 20189030 was the first version with a working overclocking.

----------------------------------------------
All Firmware before 20180930
@900MHz: ~6GH/s using ~1200W
@1000Mhz: ~6GH/s using ~1200W
You can set the MHz at 1000, it shows 100Mhz on the Mainpage of the miner BUT it does not work.

----------------------------------------------
Firmware 20180930
@900MHz: ~6,5GH/s using ~1200W
@1000Mhz: ~7,1GH/s using ~1400W (Chips ~3-4°C hotter)

Working OC, needing more power and getting a bit hotter...perfect.

----------------------------------------------
Firmware 20181116
@900MHz: ~6GH/s using less then 1200W
@1000Mhz: ~6GH/s using less then 1200W
You can set the MHz at 1000, it shows 100Mhz on the Mainpage of the miner BUT it does not work.

----------------------------------------------

So we are back to square one with the performance of the miner...

Don't get me wrong @Zigminer
I'm happy that you solved my problem with the Fan Check option.
But...yeah, the performance is gone cuz we can't overclock the miner with this firmware.

Edit:
And i have again the problem that at some point the hashrate goes down and i need to restart the miner so many times b4 it's back to normal.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: November 26, 2018, 07:20:22 PM
I only get 3-4% rejects over a period of over 5 days.
I'm mining on nicehash with firmware 20181116

Here a printscreen: https://imgur.com/a/1j28zAm

I get 30-40-50 procent rejects ?!? How many do you got? Can we do something about this

Well my rejectes hashrate is like that too. If you have normal frequency  in your chips then it is related to some other factors like stable internet ping and speed connection, bandwidth and also the pool itself, in some pools you may have lower recected hashrates. As you know the distance between you and the pool server location is also important.

It works!

Disabled the "Fan Check" on the Settings page and the miner is working again!

2018/11/16 will release new firmware , add fan check option.

did you try Mordred80. does it work?

Hey

Yes i did that.
If i switch the fans it still shows that the out fan has 0 RPM.
So im sure it's the controller board and not the fan.

Did you switched the 2 fans and checked if the fan in shows 0 rpm then? I see zigminer says its the fan that is the problem? I think its the controler unit but you could easily check it on this way

Regarding fan detection, the next version will be added to fan speed check

You have a date for this?
My miner stoped working 10 days ago bcuz of this problem.
It shows 0 RPM for the out fan but the fan if turning at full speed.

Still have the problem with the OUT FAN at 0 RPM

Then there is also the issue with the one hashboard who is dark (leds are off).
And it's hashboard 2 - Unit2

But the best part is, that Unit2 is the only hashboard that "tries" to do some mining...
I know that it's that board, cuz it goes offline (status NA) when i disconnect it from the miner.

Here a pic for you...

And why is the FAN OUT showing 0 RPM and the miner stops working even if the fan is still running?
And why can't we disable the FAN CHECK so that we can continue mining?
And why don't you release a firmware where we can disable the FAN CHECK?
And why is the hashrate to low and so unstable?
And why can't we find/buy hashboards?
And why is there so much junk in the firmware?

And so on...

If you are the founder of Zigminer then perhaps you can shine some light onto why it seems most people on this forum struggle to get the hash rate the miners is sold as being able to achieve? And also why the miners are so up and down in their hash rate?

I am the founder of zigminer, dayun is just one of our sellers (Z1), and now has no contact with zigminer.

Where you seeing the firmware at?

Yea, this makes it hard to trust the M1 that was supposedly released.

Agreed, but... I asked some time ago about hasboard replacement part on Alibaba Letine, maybe this some solution for You:
"we could provide you controller board,$106/pcs.
sorry inform you that we dont have harshboard."

Hi mate, could you provide the AliBaba vendor URL?
thanks

I asked this supplier

Thanks mate!

A big thanks from me too!
Just messaged the supplier...hope they can provide a board.

I messaged the supplier yesteeday and got an answer today.
Yes, they have the controller board!
So i ordered one...hope it will solve my problem with the fan.

So...i've tried to access the .img file from the firmware.
Tried with version 20180930, 20181015 and 20181029

WinRAR - Can't open
Daemon Tools -nope
Win Explorer - no way

Then i tried to convert the file from IMG to ISO

AnyBurn - fail
IMGtoISO (Tool) - error with version 20180930 and 20181015 - success with version 20181029, but whatever he converted was only 160kb...so still a fail.

yes, power, data cabl, still the same, the board does not get up, the led are yellow instead of blinking green

Blinking green? You hava a Z1+?
Cuz i have a Z1 and my boards did blink yellow/orange when they worked...never saw green leds on my boards.

About the .config file that you see on the settings page.

Is there a way to access that file?
I see a file path, but i have no idea where to find it.
I searched it on the USB stick but i can't find it...

And is there a way to open the .iso file from the firmware?
Tried with Daemon Tool but it did not work.

Hi dear sir, we are also vendor of dayun z1 machines, to be frankly , dayun has after sales serveice. its process as below:
 if u find a problem with machines , u have 2 choices:
① u send machine back to factory to do a test and check the problem , after maintainance, we send machine back to u , shipping cost will be covered by customers
② if u can find the problem, such as control board, or fans or hashboard. control board and fans can be bought and sent to u from factory directly, also shipping cost covered by customers, if  it is problem with hashboard, can only send back to factory and change new one for u.

Nǐhǎo Grace

actually I just need to purchase a new control board, could you provide it a a reasonable cost?
Shipping by DHL collect (I pay the freight charges using our DHL import code)

I'm also interested to get a new control board.

Can anyone give me full instructions on how to overclock the Z1+?

Access your miner over the web browser.
Go to the "Settings".
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Export".
Open the exported file (miner.json). File can be opend with the Windows Word Pad.
The first two options you see are "auto_frequent":"0","frequency":"900"
Set the "auto_frequent" from 0 to 1
Set the "frequency" to 950/1000/or what ever you want.
Save and close the file.
Access your miner over the web browser.
Go to the "Settings".
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "import".
Choose the file miner.json.
Wait till it's done. You get a message that tells you that it's done.
The miner reboots.
Wait a few mins and then check if it's working.
